Chapter 10: Eclipsed
"Just a little more Rage you can do it!" Rainbow yells as Rage flies through the air. He was on his final flight test... to form a Sonic Rainboom but keep control and he was almost there and with a rushing boom he forms a rainboom! Speeding to the cloud Rainbow was standing on he landed perfectly
"I did it!" he says with a smile
"I knew you could do it Rage!" Fluttershy says giving him a pat on the back as Twilight comes down
"Rage can I talk to you in private?" she asks and Rage nods following her
"What's up Twilight?" he asks
"Something is wrong with Luna she's gone missing Celestia summoned us and you need the Chaos Emeralds." Twilight says as they reach Canterlot Castle and they land in the Royal meeting room.
"Thank you for making it." Celestia says "Ever since a black and green earth pony visited us Luna began acting weird and now she has gone and locked herself in her room. She won't speak to either me or Twilight she just wants to talk to Prince Rage."
"Why him?" Twilight asks
"Yeah why me? I am not really that close to her. I don't know much about her at all beyond the fact she's your sister Celestia." Rage says
"I do not know. But please Rage you must help her... I am worried about her..." Celestia says
"Very well, I will see what I can do." Rage says "I wouldn't be surprised if I cannot do anything though."
Rage walks up to Luna's room and knocks on the door as she asks who it was. "Princess Luna its me Prince Burning Rage you wanted to talk to me?" he says and the door unlocks and opens up. Rage walks in to see her crying on her pillow
"Rage you have to help me... that pony...he...he..." she pants
"What did he do?!" Rage says "What pony!"
"He is forcing me on Celestia's life and mine to force a Solar Eclipse!" she replies
"What?! You can't if you do the Light and Dark balance will be thrown off! Worst of all you may transform back into Nightmare Moon!" Rage says "I cannot let that happen you know that my duties as the Chaos Guardian is to keep that balance at all costs. A Solar Eclipse throws Darkness over the light and then Dark Magic will be to strong."
"That is why I came to you... I knew that you understand how it all works... you know how to fix it... Rage please forgive me... and do not tell my sister... promise?" she asks him "I fear for our lives and... I know you can save me..." she looks at him in grief
"Luna..." Rage sighs "I promise..." she smiles and then raises to moon over the sun and just like that all of Rage's remorse was gone as if it had never happened and he looked in fright as Luna is shrouded in dark energy... Twilight and Celestia had made it in moments before so they saw it happening
"Rage what in Equestria is happening to Luna?!" Celestia yells over the howling winds
"It's not her fault!" Rage yells "that pony was not ordinary pony it was Christain the Dark! He forced her to cause the Solar Eclipse!" he yells as the energy dies and Nightmare Moon looks at the three other Royal Alicorns.
"Luna I know you're in there please calm down!" Twilight says
"Silence! There is no Luna only Nightmare Moon!" she laughs shooting energy at the three. Twilight backs up in fear and Celestia tries to reason. Nightmare Moon looks at Rage who had rolled out of the doorway to avoid the blast and using her magic locks him out.
"Sister you have your duty to lower the moon do it!" Celestia says
"I have but one now! To destroy you! There can be only one Princess!" Nightmare Moon laughs shooting more energy at them forcing Twilight and Celestia into a corner. She laughs in triumph as she hoots another beam.
Outside Rage breaks open the two large doors and sees the attack. "LIGHT CHAOS WALL!" he yells putting a wall of Light based Chaos stopping the magic strike and he jumps between the two alicorns and Nightmare Moon
"Celestia the only way we can stop this is if you lower the sun!" Rage says looking at the princess
"Rage are you crazy?! She will just become more powerful!" Celestia yells
"No she won't! The balance of energy is not true if you lower the sun the Light and Darkness will be rebalanced naturally!" Rage says blocking a magic beam "JUST TRUST ME!"
Celestia nods and lowers the sun and collapses after... Rage then takes the Chaos Emeralds "Chaos Guardians of the past... please heed my call...give me the power to save my friend a friend forced astray from her path of life!" he calls and with a blinding glow Rage is changed into his Hyper form... he was a pure white Alicorn with a bright red mane and tail
"You cannot stop me!" Nightmare Moon laughs
"Twilight go get the Elements." Rage says "I will keep her busy."
"On it!" she says
"Rage let me go first you save you're energy." Celestia says to him and he powers down
"Are you sure Celestia?" Rage asks and she does not responds
"Rage go with Twilight." she says "Help her." Rage looks at her then nods as he flies to catch up with Twilight
"Twilight!" he says "I will gather you're friends while you get the Elements from the Tree of Harmony!" he flies next to her as they head for Ponyville
"Rage! What about keeping Nightmare Moon busy?!" Twilight asks him
"Celestia said she would take care of it." Rage responds as a blast is seen from the castle
"Come on!" He says grabbing Twilight
"Rage what are you doing?!" Twilight asks trying to get out of his grip
"Getting us to safety!" Rage replies as they feel the ground rumble beneath them and they see Canterlot being lifted out of the ground! "Hold on!" he says to Twilight as she grabs him tight he jumps as hard as he could and lands on the rocks bellow as they watch Canterlot float into the air and a sheild of energy go around it as another blast of Dark Energy is seen and on the end was Celestia
"PRINCESS CELESTIA!" Twilight yells as a sweep of Darkness begins to spread
"Twilight get up!" Rage says "We need to move!"
"But- Celsestia!" Twilight sniffs
"We can worry about that later right now we need to get back to Ponyville so I can put a barrier up around it!" Rage says as he picks her up again and runs as fast as he could with the darkness not far behind. He reaches Ponyville after putting Twilight down he points his horn in the air and a shield covers the town Rage then pants before collapsing
"Rage what is going on?" Twilight asks
"I think it's obvious..." Rage says "Nightmare Moon defeated Celestia and now Equestria has been cast into eternal darkness!"
Back in Canterlot Nightmare Moon was sitting at the throne when a guard runs in "News from the central scout team your highness." he says
"Well?" Nightmare Moon asks in an echoing voice
"The Darkness has spread all across the land except for one place..." he says
"What?!" she asks "What place is able to block my beautiful Darkness?"
"It appears to be Ponyville your highness and there does not seem to be a way to break the barrier keeping it safe..." the guard replies
"Fine let it be a stand alone it is a small town anyways nothing will harm us from there..." Nightmare Moon says
"But what about Princess Twilight?" the pony asks
"She cannot do anything!" Nightmare Moon says in triumph "With the Eclipse my power is greater then the Elements of Harmony!"
"If you say so Your Highness." The guard replies leaving
Back in Ponyville Rage was in the Library with Twilight and her friends as they try to figure out what is going on. The arguing was getting annoying and soon... "Enough!" Rage yells "Look Nightmare Moon is back, she spread Darkness al over Equestria myprotection field powered by Angel Island is the only thing keeping this place safe and sooner or later she is going to attack anyway so we can sit here arguing or we can come up with a plan on how to stop her!"
"But how Rage?" Twilight asks "She is too strong for the Elements to harm her."
"We don't need the Elements we can use the Chaos Emeralds." Rage says
"But then you would be forced to go it alone we can't let you do that!" Applejack says
"Not exactly... I have an ability that lets me give others the powers of Chaos and then we can all fight her together." Rage responds
"Yeah but first we need to know how to get there and what we will need to do we need a plan..." Twilight says
