The drive was long and tedious; thankfully Brooklyn broke up my boredom. He was acting like a wife, kissing me and trying to make me cuddle him as though I loved him. I cared for the boy but I wasn't in love with him. He was clingy sometimes. Though I suppose I can't blame him, we did have to pretend we weren't dating for a week. He could hardly go half a day without clinging onto me. Seemed he was getting his possessiveness out before we got there.

"Brooklyn" I tried to get his attention, turning my head from him as he nuzzled the side of my face. He didn't answer. So I tried again...still nothing. "Brook" that stopped him, he pulled back regarding me with a confused look.

"Yes?"

"Stop, I get you're not too happy. But stop" he nodded, looking slightly hurt. Mentally rolling my eyes I laid a hand over his shoulder, giving him a tight squeeze. "Don't. It's not as though this is my ideal scenario." I may have lied a little but it seemed to subdue him.

"Yeah, ok, I get it." He placed his hand on my chest, stopping his nuzzling but settling in against me. I could handle that, I wasn't too fused about him leaning on me. Just so long as he wasn't sitting in my lap. Forcing myself to seem like I cared I placed a small kiss to his forehead, closing my eyes after and allowing myself to be sucked in by my mind.

oooo

The drive passed in peace, no one speaking as we drove down thousands of different streets. Thankfully we weren't too far from the building Mr Dickinson insisted on holding the dreaded reunion in.

I could already see cars parked outside the oversized building, people were leaning against them chatting with people who looked exactly as they did years ago.

"Stop the car" I ordered, the driver following my instructions immediately.

"Kai, why can't you pull into a side road further down the road?" Brooklyn asked, taking note of how far away we were.

"The car would be visible then. You're invisible if you leave here. Besides, I'm sure your team wouldn't mind grabbing you."

"What if they're already there?"

"Not my problem Brook" giving him a peck on the lips I reached across, pulling the handle in to release the door and pushing him from the car, stifling a laugh as he landed with a thud on the dirt road. Pulling the door back closed I smirked through at him. Watching silently as he pulled the handle, trying to open it but I'd flipped the lock.

"Kai!" He yelled

"Open the boot" I ordered, hiding my smirk with a convincing mock sympathetic look.

"Kai!"

"I can't Brook" I lied. "I can't let you in, sorry Brook"

"Don't think using my nickname will work Kai. I'm still mad at you."

"Just grab your stuff Brooklyn, I'll make it up to you."

"You better" he huffed, stomping to the back of the car to grab his mountain of things. Rolling my eyes I waited for the weight to leave the boot.

"I'll see you later Brook, be sure that idiot Ming-Ming doesn't ruin this." I opened the door to tell him that, the lid of the boot shutting as I spoke.

"I will" smirking at the fact that he hadn't denied her being an idiot I slammed the door closed nodding at the driver to do his job and drive.

oooo

As we pulled up outside the building the teams that were already there stopped and stared. The years had been kind to them, physically that is. Money wise, well, my servants had better cars than them.

Pushing open the car I told my driver to go park, grabbing my bags before he drove off.

"Hey Kai!" One boy greeted, I think his name is Raul. I greeted with my usual 'hn' just because I was more vocal now didn't mean it was to anyone I didn't care about. "You haven't changed a bit Kai" the overly happy boy offered offhandedly.

"Raul what're you still doing? We're meant to be inside. God you're irresponsible." A girl with two coloured hair complained, standing by the entrance. I think that's his sister Julia but I never paid much attention to them.

"I'm coming" he relented easily, seemed he was her lapdog. "I'll see you later Kai" he gave me a wave, running off after the girl stood by the door, her hands on her hips.

"Honestly Raul, you're such an annoyance. Can't you see that he doesn't want to talk?" Apparently she was smarter than her twin.

"Well, yeah, but I just thought..." he trailed off, he seemed to realise he would lose should he say anything. "Alright" following after the woman he passed her, his smile dropping.

"Hi Kai" she greeted, ignoring her words to her brother.

"Hn"

"Same ol' Kai. Nice seeing you" it was as though she thought we were friends. It was really bizarre, it bemused me. I heard a horn behind me, the sharp sound forcing me to turn, if only slightly. Though it was still more than I like. But I soon turned fully, there, sat behind me was my redheaded obsession. And his wife.

"Hi Kai!" He was more energetic than the other two that was for sure.

"Tala" and I responded, unlike with the other ones.

"Where's Brook-" I clamped my hand over his mouth, moving quicker than I had in years.

"Shh Tala. Remember, no one can know bar us."

"Oh, yeah, sorry. Forgot" he apologised sheepishly, grinning a little.

"Don't again. Honestly Tala, don't you remember your training?"

"Of course I do, but correct me if I'm wrong but I don't remember Boris ranting about relationships." I couldn't deny that, Boris spoke a lot of rubbish but he never spoke about relationships. Much less homosexual ones. Along with his many flaws homophobia was one of the top.

"Fair enough, now, let's go. I'm sure it'll be interesting for people to see us again." He nodded slightly, motioning for his wife, whose name I couldn't remember, to follow. As we walked in a comfortable silence Tala voiced one of his thoughts. Making me close to laughing.

"I bet Tyson's gotten fat"

"Probably has." I acknowledged, walking in side by side with him. Though his wife, Jasmine? Was walking behind us, not looking too pleased.

oooo

Music was playing from the room we were all meeting in, it was some horrible classical that was created to put pensioners to sleep. Tala seemed to be walking, subconsciously, closer to me. And I smirked to myself as I felt her glare at the back of my head. The wife wasn't pleased it seemed, but who cared? She wasn't part of the group; she was just an old bat looking for attention. She probably didn't even like beyblades.

"Kai? Are you going to be with the brats or us?" I knew what she was thinking, please be the brats, but no. I couldn't stand those children.

"Let's put it this way, I don't want to be a babysitter." He grinned, looking incredibly happy.

"Good, but you really think they won't have matured?"

"I do. Ray maybe, but Tyson. Not a hope in hell." He laughed softly, the kind of laugh only your closest friend would hear. I had to admit that irked me a little.

"I suppose, now, come on, I'm sure Bryan and the other's will be here soon."

"They will, they'll most likely arrive with Brooklyn. I know that boy can't carry all his bags, he'll make Bryan do it."

"You think Bryan's that easily swayed?"

"He seems to like Brooklyn now, probably because we're dating. But he has a soft spot for him, I will admit. I've thought of asking Bryan to date him, for a few weeks, after we break up."

"You're horrible" the wife scoffed, folding her arms over her chest.

"Shut up. You shouldn't even be here, this is a reunion for beybladers. Not women desperate to be famous so latch on to the nearest celebrity beyblader."

"It said to bring your spouse"

"I don't care"

"Will you two stop?" Tala interjected, placing his hand on my shoulder to stop me. "Honestly, you may be taller but I'm still the captain. You never left the Blitzkrieg Boys." I smiled at his reminder but wiped it off, giving him a small nod.

"Of course Captain"

"Idiot" had it been anyone else, the wife more specifically, I'd have retorted. But as it's Tala I'll let it go. We've called each other worse when we were younger.

"Anyway, before we're stood out here all day bickering why don't we go inside. I'm curious to see the others, I must admit."

"Alright then, come on Jasmine" oh, it was Jasmine, seems I was right. I thought briefly before following after. Though unlike years before with the Bladebreakers, or whatever name they've got now, I didn't keep space between us. If anything I was walking extremely close to him.

And much to my pleasant surprise, he didn't care. He gave me a small smile, which was more than his wife received. I could see her from the corner of my eye, her arms folded over her chest. Jealous.

I admit I'm enjoying this far too much, I'm supposed to rid him of her and have him for myself. But, a little fun wasn't out of the question. Especially when it could cause arguments and push them further apart.

The hall ended and the mass expansion of the room greeted us. A swarm of people were littered around the room, some were very obvious. None could miss Ray and his pure white Chinese clothing. And if it's possible I think his hair may have grown. It was beginning to trail on the ground. His headband was in place though, as always the yin-yang symbol stuck on the red material.

I couldn't suppress a small smile, I suppose this is what nostalgia is supposed to be. Not too unpleasant.

"Come on Kai, let's show them what cold conceited bastards we still are." We shared a quick smirk before plastering on our trademark cold masks. No point letting them believe we'd softened over the years. The others would do the same, why should we change that? Besides, why would I want to talk to them? I'm only here for Tala.

Entering the room heads turned to view the new arrivals, and, of course, my old team ran over. They really were like trained puppies excited to see their master once more.

"Kai!" Max yelled, stopping before me and grinning up. "It's been forever, what're you up to? Why're you with Tala? I always thought you two would get together." I could see from the corner of my eye, much to his dismay, his face reddening slightly.

"Actually" Jasmine cut in, "they're not together, we are." They were all confused to see her, no one knew who she was but they played nice. More than I had.

"Oh, sorry, you're Tala's girlfriend?"

"Wife"

"Wife?!" Tyson yelled, "I never imagined Tala to be a husband." I could see my redhead's mind thinking the same thing.

"Yeah, whatever Tyson, see ya later. I've gotta go. Later Kai" glaring at him for leaving me to fend for myself with the brats I did what I usually did, glared at them and walked away.

I'd come back out once some of my actual friends arrived.
