Alright. Here's the 2nd chapter I promised for today. After this, it'll be a while until I can update again. This one is a good bit more emotional and sorry if you do not like it.

And don't take your anger out on Subaru here please, he's just trying to figure out his real feelings and after seeing Jackie in her new state, he's unsure at the moment. Next chapter will be better I promise.

I had one review ask for a fighting scene of Ayato and Subaru's fight against Reiji. Don't judge to harshly, I never wrote a fighting scene before, so here's my first one.

Enjoy.

Subaru carried Jackie to the lake as promised. He looked around for a secluded area for the two of them. He found one far on one end of the lake. While headed there the girl was still thinking over Shu's harsh words. That was practically the only thing that was going through her mind at the time. More and more she remembers, the more she felt guilty and hurt. Her chest was practically aching in pain and she wanted more than anything was to be alone and cry out the pain and sadness. Though, it didn't look like that was happening anytime soon.

The vampire reached the secluded area and placed her down softly in the grass. Then he got behind her and sat down as well. Pulling her close so her back touched his chest, he didn't let go. He placed his head on her shoulder softly and closed his eyes. Listening to the sound of the girl's heartbeat. After a while the girl started shaking a bit. Thinking that she was cold, he pulled her close in and zipped up his jacket with her inside with him. Softly nuzzling her neck, he was trying his best not to upset her, since Shu already did.

Jackie was not cold at all, she was nearing a breaking point to where her tears were fighting to come out and be free. She didn't want to cry in front of Subaru. Thinking that he might think her crying is useless and upset her like Shu had. She kept her mouth closed knowing that she'd break easily if she tried to speak.

Finally having enough of the silence, Subaru tries to see if he could help.

"Hey, you ok?"

Softly whispering in her neck. Looking up to try and read her facial expressions. He couldn't see her face well enough. Kissing her neck up to her cheek, he tried again. This time she turned her face away from his. Confused and shocked, the vampire tried something else.

"So, if I had to guess, you like solving different kinds of puzzles correct?"

No answer.

"The missing murdered girls is a good mystery, I would have to say it would have been Ayato and Raito to kill them. Kanato's capable as well but I doubt he was the one to kill the other girls. Probably was the one who stole the potion."

Silence again. Starting to get aggravated he kept going, knowing soon she'd want to talk.

"I don't really see how Yui would be part of it unless it's just giving her dress away. What do you think?"

All he got that time was a sniffle. Inwardly sighing he knew this would be a lot harder to get her to talk now. He licked her neck a couple of times. Surprised and angry, Subaru saw that she lifted her hand to wipe the saliva away.

'Tch! Stubborn girl.'

"Hey come on now. Speak to me. I want to hear your voice."

Nothing. Trying to turn her face around to look at him, Jackie covered her face in her hands, hiding from the boy.

"It Shu's fault huh? You're taking his words seriously? Well don't. He was just joking around and-"

"Don't lie!"

Jackie suddenly cried out, half scaring Subaru in the process.

"Don't lie to me please. Don't lie."

She mumbled over and over. She was at her breaking point finally. Starting to cry, Subaru started to feel bad.

"Hey, I didn't mean it. Come on now don't start crying. It's no big deal."

Trying to comfort but it wasn't working. Starting to shake uncontrollably now, the girl was pretty upset. Stunned, the other just sat there not knowing what to do to stop the upset mortal.

"No what Shu meant was to not really get carried away. The others were pretty mad at your outbursts and would have hurt you. Heh, even I thought it was a crazy stunt but-"

Unzipping the jacket, Jackie pushed up off the ground and tried to get away from the boy as quickly as she could. Stumbling around a lot made it harder to run.

'Alone. All I want is to be alone right now. Please let me be by myself for a while.'

She thought as her legs were making it difficult to run with the bandages wrapped around her legs tightly. Subaru watched her go, still shocked. She nearly trips and falls over a rock and he jumped right up. Catching up to her was easy but dealing with her pushing to get away from him was hard. It really hurt him.

"Please I want to be alone! Go away!"

"I can't do that. You're still to badly injured to be wandering around on your own."

"Stop please, let me go! You're just like him! You both think alike and it hurts! Please!"

Sobbing, screaming, and hitting the vampire to make him move. Subaru just stood there hurt and sad. He didn't show it on the outside but on the inside, it reminded him of the past. Of his mother hurting him in a similar way. Seeing this girl like that, he didn't want to see it at all. It was almost like a nightmare starting to form from the past.

Instead he pulled her close into an embrace, pinning her so she wouldn't try to kick or hit him again. The girl was still crying and had started to yell at him. Lowering his head, he whispered into her ear.

"The triplets did do it."

Jackie stopped crying for a moment.

"W-w-what?"

"The triplets killed the girls."

"What do you mean?"

"I overheard them last night. Ayato and Kanato were discussing how to keep the secret of themselves, Raito, and Yui murdering others, from reaching Reiji or anyone else. They had killed the girls. Raito and Yui the second one. Just for trying to cover up evidence."

Speechless but still sobbing, Jackie was shocked at what the vampire had told her.

"B-b-but why didn't y-you say that earlier?"

"I guess I forgot."

That didn't really help much at all. The girl starting crying harder.

"What Shu meant by your little act earlier was true. If he didn't save you, then you would have been hurt much earlier than now. Plus humiliated. Would you have liked that?"

"What do you mean Shu saved me?"

"He answered one of your questions that no one else did. If he didn't, you'd be in serious trouble by now. By the other's fangs and all."

Jackie didn't answer. Crying into his chest the entire time, he did nothing to stop it. Nor did he try to play with her. The pale boy just closed his eyes waiting for her to calm down for a bit.

After a while she finally started to calm down. He sighed contently inside.

'Finally. Even just for a minute, things are calming down. Don't go.'

The girl still had tears running down her cheeks but her throat felt sore. Still shaking, arms wrap around her protectively. Holding on, they stayed that way for the rest of the night. When the sun started to rise, the vampire ignored it. The sun's warmth and rays were starting to make him dizzy.
Jackie noticed that they were still standing outside while the sun was coming out. Subaru was in danger with the sun and she knew it. Dizziness then passing out and soon not being able to breath right would soon kill him. She remembered him telling her that, besides a silver knife. She started pushing the vampire a little to make him start moving. He didn't budge. Instead, he held her more tightly and it started to hurt.

"S-Subaru. Move."

"I'm not leaving."

A snarl was hooked in his tone of voice. It frightened her a bit. But she didn't want him to die either.

"Subaru please? Let's go into the forest shadows. It's dangerous out here for you right? Please."

"No."

Pushing and shoving him more, she tried to move out of the vampire's arms herself. She couldn't break free of his tight embrace so she tried to push his chest to make him walk backwards. Her feet sliding in the dirt, making long trend marks.

"Move it. Seriously get going. We need to go back now."

She told the vampire firmly. Still not budging, she didn't realize that her attempts to move him were on thin ice with his temper. Soon the girl made her mistake. Pushing him from his sides and stomach, the girl found herself roughly pushed down and straddled by an angry albino male. Looking up, she soon cowered in fear. The blood-red pools that she once thought was interesting and one of her favorite things about Subaru, they were darkened in a deep, dark scarlet color. Lips pulled back showing off fangs and his weight and strength kept her down for good. It was truly frightening for her.

"Don't you dare try to move me like that again. I'll move when I feel like it, not when a lowly mortal like you tells me to. And don't you dare touch me there again. Got it?!"

Deeply growling at the girl in a threaten way, Jackie nodded quickly. Narrowing his eyes, he wasn't convinced. Ignoring all his sense of waiting, he roughly bit down on the center of her neck. Tear sprang to her eyes again but for different reasoning this time.

"Please, I'm sorry. Please stop hurting me! Subaru!"

Instead of letting up, he pushed his fangs in deeper. He placed a hand over her mouth and continued his feeding. Finally satisfied, he licked the area he bit into and leaned up to her ear.

"Don't ever hurt me again. Physical pain I can deal with. Emotional pain; don't even think about it."

"Y-yea o-o-ok. I promise."

Lifting up to face her again. The deep scarlet was still there but his expression was unreadable.

"I think that's enough punishment for you today. If those triplets get a hold of you, I'll be sure to make them pay."

"Umm Subaru."

"Yeah what is it?"

"I think a couple of my wounds reopened."

"Oh~."

"So, I guess we'd better hurry up and get the bath over with. Right?"

"Nope."

"What?"

"I'm dropping you off in your room. Returning the couch, books, and bunny to their rightful owners. You are on your own for now."

With that said, he lifts her up and places her on his shoulder. Then he stalks off towards the house. Stopping by her room, he opens the door and drops her on the bed.

"Stay here and don't move until this evening."

"Ok. Um Subaru?"

"What is it? I'm tired now and I'd like to go to sleep."

Snaps the angry vampire.

"How did you get your stomach hurt like that?"

"Tch! Go to bed."

He turns and walks out the door, slamming it in the process.

'So he's still mad I guess. I must have hurt him pretty bad last night. Hopefully he'll feel better in the evening.'

Changing clothes, Jackie got ready for bed. Sad that she wasn't sleeping in the coffin with him, she started to sleep. Or at least try to.

Subaru on the other hand had locked himself in his room, then his bathroom, then his coffin. Feeling like he could destroy the whole house in one punch if he could, was how angry he felt right now. Also upset too but didn't show it. His hand goes down to touch his sore but healing stomach and chest; the vampire remembers the other night's fight with Reiji and Ayato.

Flashback:

Subaru took the first swing at Reiji but the eldest dogged. Ayato was up next and punched him in the lower back. Reiji turned around to smack Ayato but Subaru took the arm and twisted it until the arm broke.

Hissing at the younger one, Reiji takes out a knife and aims it at Subaru. He barely misses him, Subaru now had a cut on his left cheek. Ayato came up behind the two and tried to choke Reiji by holding him in a headlock. Subaru took the opportunity to start punching Reiji. He got the eldest good in the eye, hearing a couple of bones crack from the skull. He also punched him in the stomach a couple of times and a few more on his face.

Having enough, the older vampire backtracks quickly and helps Ayato hit the wall hard. Hearing a crack and yell, Reiji was satisfied. Ayato's grip loosened and Reiji took him by the arm and threw him to Subaru. Subaru ducked and headed back in to finish the job with Reiji. Ayato hit the floor hard and broke his arm in three places. He still got up though.

Reiji soon gained the upper hand over Subaru and punched him hard in the stomach with his knee. Ayato manages to land a hard punch with a book on Reiji cheek. Reiji ignores the red-head and starts to stomp on Subaru's chest. Grabbing his leg, Subaru throws him over to the nearest bookshelf and Reiji slams into it. Knocking the books and the shelf all down. Getting up, the fight starts all over again until Reiji was finally knocked unconscious for a while.

Present:

'Damn, that girl has a lot to learn around here. She may have easily been this way with those other vampires but we are not them. She has to understand that.'

Rolling over to his side, he thinks.

'Protecting our secret and theirs. I think she like them more. Besides this leader of theirs probably already has eyes on her. Make me so jealous. But, they had her first and I'm just playing with her as my food. Tch! What's this, I've gone soft?! Protecting her from danger around her is hard. I think I'll take a few days break. Besides, I'm not interested in being around a weakling anyway. I'm tired, guess I'll try and sleep now.'

With that, the pale vampire falls to sleep angrily. He didn't know he'd feel guilty of what he said later in the week but for now, anger was the only thing controlling him.

Back outside, a couple of people standing in the shadows were talking. They had been by the lake the whole entire night and saw basically every thing. Now they were arguing on some situational issue that need to be discussed with.

"No we should go now and bring her back."

"Idiot, she's with high nobles. We'd be losing our reputation and business would go bad."

"Then what do you suggest we do? Wait until the boss gets back and let that one kill her?"

"No but I will wait for the boss."

"You're crazy."

"Oh look at the time, it's time to get back to work."

"What! No it isn't."

Instead of arguing some more, the first person grabs the other and drags him off deep within the woods.

That's it for now, hope you've enjoyed.

Please Review for me and I'll update again when I got the time.

See ya guys later!
