Judy's P.O.V.

Maybe I should have picked Nick up again. It's close to check in time and he might have slept in.

I was in the lobby of the ZPD waiting to head out in the cruiser, but Nick hasn't shown up early like I expect him to. I kinda wish he had a phone so I could text him or something.

I begin to tap my foot impatiently.

Is there anything I could do before we go? Maybe I should bring the whole file folder in case we need it to look at our options if Mr. Big has no leads. Though there's nothing much in the dossier on the polar bear, Syre.

I walk to the cubicle area and enter mine and look for the folder. Finding it on the desk, I grab it and wrap it under my arm before walking out of the cubicle. I walk out to lobby again and make my way to the cruiser garage.

"Hey Carrots!"

A familiar voice calls.

Looking over, I see Nick walking towards me with his shades on.

I raise a brow and put my paws on my hips.

"What's your excuse this time?"

"I don't need one because I'm not late," He said using his thumb pointing behind him at a clock with a smirk.

It was two minutes before he was claimed late.

I roll my eyes and begin to walk to the garage.

"So, how long have you been waiting?"

"Long enough," I state now entering the hall to the garage.

Opening the door, I scan around for the cruiser. Once I spot it, I began to walk in the garage towards it. Grabbing my keys from my belt, I click unlock on them. The car beeps and the lights flick on signifying it's open. Opening the driver's side door, I hop in and close it next to me. Nick opened his door and jumped in as I began to put the keys in the ignition and turn them. Pulling the seat belt down into the slot, I begin to now drive out of the parking space. Once we were at the garage door, I clicked a button on the panel in front of me which made the door start to open. Once fully opened, I pull out of the garage and click the button again to shut it behind me. I drove forward a bit before pulling out of the precinct parking lot.

Driving to me was way better than paper work. Because I could actually focus and let my mind drifted at the same time. With paperwork it's either one or the other and usually I had to just focus.

The city passed by me in a blur as I just kept my eyes foreword with my destination in mind. It wasn't long before I began to drive down the road through the tunnel to enter Tundra Town. Before I knew it, we entered the grey fogged district.

The roads were pretty much clear of activity; vacant of any mammals walking.

Turning down the last road, I see Mr. Big's place not far down the road. I pull over and slow to a stop and shift the cruiser to stay. Pulling the keys out of the ignition, I began to unbuckle. I open the door, hop out of the cruiser, and shut the door behind me. Hearing a second door shut, I begin to walk towards the front door. Before I could knock, a slot in the door slid open and a pair of eyes were behind it.

"Hey, it's me Judy," I state with a gaiety smile.

"Do you know the password?" his deep bassy voice spoke.

"Uh, no but Mr. Big knows me- without the password, you may not enter," He interrupts.

"Oh my gosh! Judy!" A samll voice spoke.

"The pair of eyes looked annoyed.

"Kevin! Open the door," The voice commanded.

It sighed before the slit slid shut.

An array of locks could be heard clanking and the door opened.

I saw the polar bear walk away into the somber room. But I look down and noticed a familiar face. Fru Fru.

"Hi Judy!" She exclaimed.

I wave with a bright smile almost sheepishly.

"Oh, and Nick," She said with a smile looking to him and he just did his two finger salute with his smirk.

"You guys came here to visit?"

I laugh a little nervously.

"Unfortunately, no. We came to speak with your dad,"

"Kevin!" She yelled which made me jump a little.

"Tell dad he has visitors to see him," She commanded.

She then turns towards us with her smile.

"Alright come in guys."

I enter the room which had a lurid vibe. There was a somber, sybaritic red carpet laid down towards the next door. Ice scars danced around the room especially near the windows. It was like an old mansion but the walls were like… a cabins.

"Dad! Judy is here to see you!" She calls out towards the steel door.

No response.

She began to walk up mini stairs connected to a giant polar bear cabinet.

Looking to Nick, I see he's examining a baby stroller with his fingers with an amused smirk.

That's right. She had a baby.

The big metal door opens and a tall lengthy polar bear walks in, Koslov.

"Hey, big guy," Nick speaks up behind me.

"Upgrade to babysitting?" Nick asks gesturing to the crib.

He just exhales through his nostrils sending a fog cloud out, and deepened his glare.

"Well I upgraded too," He said gesturing to his uniform with finality and a smirk.

I just roll my eyes.

"Alright, he's ready for you," She speaks behind a small door before shutting it.

The polar bear then opens the door and steps aside. In the middle of the table in his throne sat none other than Mr. Big.

Before I speak, I remember I have to respect him.

Entering in the room I stand on my tippy toes once I was in front of the table. I lean forward and kiss the side of his cheek which he returns quickly. I relax back and look to him with my gaiety expression.

"Judy my child. Why is this fox within my walls again," He says gesturing to him.

He does have a problem with Nick still I guess.

My expression falters.

"Well uh, he's with me on the force and I'm hoping you could give him a chance since he's clean now."

He just makes a "huh" sound lazily before he speaks.

"My child. You must know you are taking great risks at letting this fox remain with you. For he has a lingering past that will come back and effect you too," He states darkly in his high voice.

I frown.

Nick speaks up.

"Look, Mr. Big. I understand the consequences of joining the force with her and I'm willing to do anything to avoid letting me effect her."

He doesn't speak right away.

"I see. Are you two.. an item?"

"We're friends," I say.

"Hm. Perhaps I shall give him a chance," He said lifting his little paw up with his golden rings on them.

Nick leans down and kisses the rings with a smirk. After, he backed away.

"Why have you come my child."

"Well recently, I assume you've heard of the conditioner collapse," I state.

"Yes."

I look for any sign of recognition on his dull face but none appeared.

"During our investigation, we captured these images," I say placing a few pictures on the table.

He looked down at these then did his lazy huh.

"A polar bear. Are you accusing me of this disaster?" he said in a normal voice.

It had an underlying edge to me.

"No, what she's wondering is if you know this polar bear," Nick spoke behind me.

He didn't speak right away.

"Yes."

I feel ecstatic that we might have a lead.

"He worked for me back in my syndicate days. Ever since I retired for my future granddaughter, he left to still work in the crime."

"Do you happen to know where he is?" I ask.

"He's in the a club now. Working with a crime boss known as Kimat. Or maybe working with one of many others. Ull, Kagutsuchi, Boreas.."

He seemed to ponder for a bit

"I've failed to pay much attention to the info surrounding the business since my retirement. Kimat is wolf. He's on the outskirts of Zootopia working in a club. It only opens an hour after dark."

We have a lead!

"Alright thank you for your time," I say.

"Not a problem my child. Come visit whenever you please."

I began to turn for the door when a polar bear was standing in front of it. He stepped aside while opening the door for me to exit. Exiting, I begin to have more of a spring in my step at my excitement.

"Alright Carrots, ready to dance?" Nick asks right when we leave out the closed front door.

I laugh lightly.

"I'm ready to solve this case tonight."

...

After a long drive, we ended up on the outskirts of Zootopia.

I drive foreword to enter the lot where a couple other cars where idle. I drive in and turn into a spot l like the other cars. I put it to a stop and just sit.

Vorific Lust?

"So this is it?" I ask looking around.

"Yep. You get quiet the view of the stars here."

"How do you know that?"

"My mom used to take me to that hill over there," He said pointing across the lake.

It was a little bare spot of trees and had a bench with a table.

"Light pollution here makes it hard to ssee."

We sat in silence.

A little later, my ears turn to attention to tapping.

I look over and see Nick looking out the window tapping his claw on the door.

"Are you trying to annoy me?" I ask with a light laugh.

"A little." He confesses with sass.

Not long and he then opens the glove box to scavenge through its contents. He shuts it soon after.

He sighed then leaned back.

"You got your pen?" he asked.

"Yeah?" I say.

"Good. We might need it if anything goes wrong in there."

"You think something will go wrong?" I ask.

"Honestly, it's a high chance. Maybe your cuteness will convince them otherwise," He blandly states.

"Don't call me cute."

"Why? It's not like I'm lying," He defends in mockery.

"It's a derogatory term that only bunnies can use with other bunnies," I say bored at the fact of explaining this many times to different mammals.

"Well would that mean it's offensive to call me sly?"

"Well no- okay I don't know the exact reason but.. just don't say it to other rabbits or bunnies," I say cautiously.

"Someone gonna get jealous?" he frivolously asked.

I roll my eyes.

Silence drifted over us.

But not very long after, Nick spoke up.

"Is it just me or is it really cold?" Nick asks.

I think about it and conclude it was indeed pretty cold.

"Yeah, hold on." I say pushing a button and turning the knob for the heat.

A rushing wind can be heard radiating through the cruiser.

I pull out my phone and see its only 1:00.

We had a while to go

Putting my phone in my pouch, I lay back with my paws off the wheel with my arms crossed. I hear rustling next to me and feel a brush of air pass the side of my face. Looking over, I see Nick with his eyes closed and head up.

"You all nice and comfy?" I say with a smile.

"Yeah, I wouldn't mind a nap right now."

Maybe he should take a nap. I'll wake him if I need him.

"Go ahead and take one." I say looking back out at the clubs entrance.

"Really?" he asked.

"Well I mean I can't expect you to sit here for a couple hours and do nothing."

"What will you be doing?"

"I'll be watching the entrance." I state.

"Well in that case, I'll be seeing you in a couple hours." He says turning over on his side away from me.

"I'm gonna wake you up when it's time." I warn.

"Yeah, yeah." He mutters.

I sat in silence and looked among the aesthetic of the clubs entrance. It wasn't super lavish or anything on the outside but who knows how it looks on the inside. I'm also kinda nervous on the mammal side of things in there. The Naturalist club was really uncomfortable to be in. Nick didn't seem too uncomfortable though. I mean whatever floats your boat but it was really weird to see them all comfortable around each other. But I know for a fact I would never join the Naturalist club.

My phone vibrates making my ears stand at attention. Grabbing my phone from the center console, I open it up and type my password. I slide the notification bar down and click the message.

It was Will.

Hey Judy, are you at work?

Yes

I wait for a response.

Oh are you busy?

No

Oh okay well I just wanted to let you know I'm heading back to Zootopia

When will u arrive?

I don't know exactly but maybe a week before Christmas

So in a week?

Yes

Whatever u do for a job has u go places!

Yeah I'm a manager for a factory

So that's where he works. I type back.

Do you enjoy it?

Somewhat. It puts food on the table

Is there anything you want to do?

Maybe be a mayor or something.

That's cool

Yeah

I couldn't think of what to really say. I didn't really want to be awkward either.

Well I'll talk to u later k Will?

Okay

I put the phone back on the dashboard and sigh.

I wonder what Will and I will do when he gets here. Maybe go to get coffee? Go to the movies? Maybe that's a little too romantic. But wouldn't coffee be romantic too? But maybe it's a good thing. Who knows, maybe I might fall in love.

My ears pick up calm breathing. I look over to see Nick with his eyes closed, looking up at the roof breathing softly. A smile forms on my face.

I grab my phone and check the time. It was only 3:00.

It's gonna be dark soon. Winter makes the night approach faster which means Nick will have to awaken soon.

Looking outside, I see it was indeed a faded grey that was growing dimmer. It was already pretty somber looking outside and the night was approaching which will lead to our entry in the club. Which I hope goes as planned. I don't want to lose anyone tonight. Especially Nick. I've lost him twice. Technically once since the other was a dream. I can't imagine losing him a third time.

But enough about that. Everything will go perfectly fine.

I can't help but be a little bored sitting here though. I would turn on the radio but I don't want to wake Nick. Speaking of music, I wonder if Gazelle is releasing any new songs. She seemed silent ever since that band has been rising up.

Examining the outside, I see lights were starting to turn on. Night has begun to fall with it being the late dusk.

I'll wake Nick up so he can fully gather himself before we walk in there. I don't want him to say something when he's drowsy that'll put us in danger. And I'll be okay dealing with his riposte for 30 minutes.

I scooted over and tap Nick's shoulder.

"Nick," I whisper.

No movement.

"Nick," I say in a normal voice.

He stirs and his eyes ease open. He groans a bit.

He looks around and stretches before looking to me.

"Already?" he says in a groggy voice.

"Yep."

"Why are you so tired," I finally ask.

"I'm not tired.. I just wanted a quick nap,"

A comfortable silence fell.

"It's decently dark out," Nick speaks.

I look around and see mammals getting out of their vehicles. Mostly males but some females dressed in lascivious clothes.

"Well that's convenient," He speaks

I scan around more and see they were indeed getting ready to enter the bar. The neon lights lit up abruptly around the bar. There was mostly red lights that were strung about its interior. The mammals entering were also mostly predators, with any prey being the seductive mammal's which was strange. Interspecies anything is frowned upon.

"Need these?"

Looking over I see Nick with a pair of binoculars smirking at me.

I roll my eyes at his innuendo and look back out the window.

"Alright, we'll go in when it's fully dark," I say examining the crowd.

"Sounds good."

It was silent for a bit before Nick spoke up again.

"So I've also been thinking," Nick starts.

"Uh oh," I say with sass.

"My last ideas worked. I also just woke up and I'm already contributing," He states with sass.

He was right of course.

"So I'm might be going out on a limb here, but I'm pretty sure whoever the boss is will not let us carry our weapons in there."

It never occurred to me until now but that was going to be a problem going in there without a weapon. Maybe they won't ask for our weapons which I doubt. But if we went in there weaponless they could easily overpower us.

"How will we be able to go in there?" I ask quietly.

"I got a few tricks up my sleeve."

Nick lifts his arm up and pulled down his sleeve to reveal a dart or syringe.

"We'll just have the ammo and stab them with the needle."

"Good thinking," I confirm.

"Hopefully there's less than 4," He states after.

I immediately take my pistol out of its holster and release the cartridge from the handle to hold it in my paw. I pull a dart out then another before slamming the cartridge back in and sliding it in its holster. I fumble with the darts and tuck them under a strap on my bracers to conceal it and be able to pull it out. The needle wasn't long enough to just stab straight off with the push of my paw which would make it easier. I had to take it out first before stabbing. I'd hate to move to such measures, but this is a crime boss we're speaking of here.

"Alright you wanna head in?" I ask looking outside at the black atmosphere.

"Let's go," He states.

I open the door, hop out and shut it behind me. The mammals that were waiting outside are now inside. I began to walk towards the entrance across the lot with weariness. We then arrived at the front and Nick walks ahead of me to the glass doors. He opens it and gestures me inside.

I take in the sight of the little lobby which was as dark as the outside but it had a mammal behind the counter with a purple glow. The entrance beside the counter had a blue glow emanating it.

I approach the pig with a smile.

"Excuse me, do you know where we could find a Syre in this establishment?" I ask.

They look up before squinting at me.

I take out my badge and show it for authenticity.

"Officer Hopps of the ZPD." I say.

They look beside me at Nick then back to me.

"Right this way."

He had a deep voice.

"I'm surprised they didn't have a mammal outside with a clipboard asking your name to see if your on the list," Nick whispers behind me.

I roll my eyes with a smile.

We entered the hall and took an immediate right into the club.

It was very luxurious and iridescent. Vignette of vibrant colors danced about the giant room with many blues and a few purples. There was a lot of tables with mammals at them and many had tuxedos and dresses. At the side of the room was a big poker table with smoke from cigars coating that area and a whole bunch of mammals holding cards. It actually was one of the main smells that filled my nose; tobacco. Music blared throughout the club which gave a very lewd vibe and ambiance. But the main attraction was a pole with an antelope on it and she had very, very revealing clothes. She danced on the pole with her eyes closed and I couldn't help but feel a little uncomfortable.

I was actually planning on doing something with those poles since it worked so many muscles on your body but I think I change my mind.

We began to walk through and before long we started getting stares from others as we strolled. I ignored them and continued. Not very long in, we arrived at a door with a polar bear and racoon standing in front of it.

"These officers wanted to see Syre but I don't know if the boss wanted to see them first."

I look up at the tall polar bear who towered over me.

"I'll go check," The polar bear spoke.

He opened the door and stepped in, shutting it behind him quickly.

The pig walked away back through the bar leaving us with just the racoon.

"Well ain't you pretty," The racoon spoke looking me up and down.

I glared.

"Careful bud, she's pretty strong for a bunny," Nick spoke up next to me with sass.

"Shut it," The racoon spat.

"Just trying to save you the hospital trip," Nick replied with ease.

The door then opened behind him and the polar bear stepped out.

"The boss wants to see you-"

I begin to walk forward.

"Without your weapons," He finished.

I stop.

Sweet cheese and crackers.

"Tell him we can't do that," I say.

"Well he won't talk with you then," The bear grunted.

I groan internally.

I take out my pistol and hold it out to him with Nick doing the same. He takes them and tucks them under his arms.

"We also have to search you," He spoke up again.

I growl internally and stand still and stretch my arms out with an annoyed expression.

"You get her, I'll get the fox. You never know what foxes are thinking," He states walking over.

Oh he's clever alright.

The racoon sauntered over to me and began to tap at my thighs up my sides.

Seems he's not checking my arms.

He went back down to my thighs when I feel a paw tap my butt.

Are you kidding me?

He moves away and had a smile on his face as he looked to me. I just glared back before putting my arms down.

"Alright, it seems you guys are all clear," He spoke now opening the door, gesturing us inside.

I walk foreword and enter the room where infront of me with their feet on the desk was a wolf. He had one yellow eye and one blue eye. His fur was a dull blue and he had a white tuxedo with a rose in the front pocket.

There were two chairs in front of the desk. The door shut behind me and the wolf spoke.

"Aw come on! Take a seat!" he said in an almost maniacal voice gesturing to the seats.

I walk forward and hop up in the seat and place my paws in my lap. Nick does the same but instead sat with his arms crossed.

He looked at us both with his smile that dripped of verisimilitude in something.

"Well aren't you two the odd pair," He spoke with sass.

"Polar opposites working together.. that's funny. Unless you two are actually…" He pointed between us squinting.

"No," Nick flatly states.

"Fair enough. After all Zootopia being the sleazy place it is would rain hell on you guys."

"Never mind that, names Kimat," He says gesturing to himself.

"Wait that rhymed. Syre!" he yelled out behind him.

"I need a piece of paper Pronto!" he said now looking about his desk and scrambling to look for a paper.

This guy is weird.

He grabbed a paper and pen and begin to scribble it down with a smile.

Not long and a polar bear entered the room from a corridor.

"Syre! You didn't get here in time you dingus!" he shouted throwing the pen at him.

The polar bear got hit in the head and covered the spot with an annoyed expression.

"Geez, what do I pay you for?" The wolf exclaimed.

"Getting you food?" Syre asks.

"Now what were we talking about?" Kimat claimed scratching his head.

He pulled out a huge knife and began to pick through his teeth with the blade.

"I think we were talking about Zootopia raining hell on you two. Whatever, but the point is you two are here to see this polar bear for your case," He said pointing the knife at us.

He tossed it behind him like junk and opened the front drawer to pull out a suppressed pistol. He pulled the rack back before looking to me in the eyes that bore into my soul.

"Naïve little bunny proving herself and is taking another big case. What are you trying to prove this time?" he adds.

"I'm trying to prove the city can trust me with this case and I want to be able to be one of the best officers in the city."

"Well, you're talking to me a crime boss for answers. I would say that's a little betrayal on your part," He said picking up a bottle of water.

He threw it in the air and shot the suppressed pistol at it making water splash in air.

"Well, I'm here to get answers from a polar bear we suspect to be a part of the crime," I say placing the documents on the counter.

He leaned forward and examined it. His gaze changed to a grin before laughing.

"You two wanna be the best cops in Zootopia yet you pulled the trigger too early," He stated with a chuckle.

I feel confused.

"My buddy here," he poked the bears stomach with the pistol without looking.

"You see he was going to a restaurant to get me food."

He leaned back with a confident smirk.

"Looks like you guys already messed up," He leaned back more.

All of the sudden his chair flipped backwards and he fell on the floor behind the desk with a crash.

"Ow," He simply stated behind the desk still.

He grabbed the desk hard as if he was crawling out of his grave.

"I'm telling you guys," He said looking to me annoyed.

"I don't know why I still pay these mammals," He said fully standing now.

We jumped the gun? But how? He was the only mammal with white fur in that region… unless we missed something.

"Looks like you are the ones in the wrong," Kimat exclaims now holding a different pistol.

It had electricity arcing at the front and he held it casually.

"Well sorry for wasting your time," Nick speaks up.

"Me and Officer Hopps will leave."

Nick taps my shoulder which I look to him with confusion then slide off the chair anyway.

"No, no, no, you borrowed my time, so now I get to borrow yours."

The door to the exit was now blocked off by Syre and the other polar bear.

"Sit," Kimat commanded pointing the arc pistol at me.

I looked to Nick who had a worried expression with his paws up. I began to walk back to the seat slowly with my paws up as well.

"I'm not gonna waste this opportunity to have two of the cities most beloved cops with me. I could make you two rob a bank for me. At the balance of one your lives,"

"You're sick," I say.

"You think I'm sick!" he shouted.

He leaned forward and a smell of blood assaulted my nose as he spoke.

"I'm the only sane one in this evil place. Zootopia needs to be ridden of itself," He whispered.

His breath smelled like fresh blood with a spice that can only be conceived as some type of detergent mixed with death and iron.

Nononono. I get it, I'm crazy!" he exclaimed with a laugh.

"I'm the one. It's me. It's me. But no it's not because this place destroyed me!"

"I can't even deal with this pain and remorse that I harbor and can't get rid of!"

Silence.

He looked to me with his angered icy blue eye and fiery yellow eye.

"It's like-"

He laughed sadly.

"It's like I'm the one that deserves it all."

He actually sounded as if he was gonna cry as he covered his face with one paw. He all of the sudden swiped across his desk sending all of the contents on the floor. He put the paw holding his face into a fist and cringed hard, baring his teeth.

"No, I'll make this work," He said quietly.

"I'll make this work," He confirmed.

"Okay!" he said pulling the slide back on the pistol.

"Now, you'll join me or.. no you'll pretty much join me."

I don't think but take action. I grab the dart on my bracers slowly. With lighting speed, I hurl it behind me at the polar bear aiming for the neck. Spinning back around, I kick the desk foreword hitting Kimat in the gut making him gasp. I turn around towards the other polar bear ready to take on two but instead find one on the ground holding his neck. The other had a pistol out. He began to open fire at me. I duck behind the chairs cushion as shots rang out.

But before I could think of a plan I hear a grunt and I peek up to see Nick kicked the back of the bears knee making him crouch down. Before Nick could stab him with the needle, the bear slapped his paw against him sending him through the door making it shatter.

Oh no.

I jump over the chair at him and slide in between his legs to get behind him. The giant clumsy bear tried to spin around to face me but I jumped with all my might and used as much force as I could for a uppercut. I here a firm smack as my fist met contact. I drop down and look up and see he was dazed for a bit.

"Oh that's it!" I hear a growl in frustration.

I look up and see Kimat was no longer gasping. He pointed his pistol at me and before he could shoot I kicked the polar bears leg in his line of sight. I hear a crack of electricity and see the polar bears leg shaking violently.

I use this time to look behind me at the blaring club to see Nick trying to stand holding his chest wincing.

I run over to him.

"Nick are you okay?" I ask trying to help him stand.

He looked to me with his wince before his eyes widened when he looked behind me. Before I could turn I feel a big push sending me falling to the floor away from Nick. I turn and see Nick get a punch from Kimat in the face making his head whip to the side. I stand quickly and run with all my might as I get ready for a drop kick. Nick gets socked in the face again making him stumble to the floor. Using all my might, I jump and push all my weight into the ends of my feet as I sail through the air towards him. My feet meet their mark and I fall once I meet contact, transferring all my power into him sending him flying into a table. I look to Nick and see he had blood trailing down his lip as he winced to support his weight as he tried to stand. I focus back to Kimat who was beginning to stand up wincing.

"Oh you've done it now bunny." He hissed.

I have one more dart with his name on it.

I charged at him again yelling with my fist holding the needle ready for contact. I hop and swing but it's met with an open paw which grabbed mine before I see a fist coming for my face. I tilt my head to the side dodging it which I then use that time to jump and kick him in the gut. He gasps looking down which I take this opportunity to bring my knee up as hard as I can into his face.

He still didn't let go of my paw holding the needle. I chop downwards into his elbow to try and get him to release it. He let's go and I thrust the dart foreword. He grabs it with his other paw and before I knew it, a elbow slams into my face. I recoil back and fall to the ground holding my face.

"Ha! You've lost!"

I look up and see he held the dart before throwing it across the bar.

"Now," he said pulling out a knife.

"I've always wanted to try bunny."

"Judy!" Nick calls out behind me.

I turn and see a dart sailing through the air. I catch it with one paw and throw it with all my might at Kimat while he's busy showing off. It meets with his neck and he holds the spot as he stumbled.

He kept stumbling before ripping it out of his neck and looking at it.

"Nice try," He growled.

He threw the dart away before stumbling towards me. He held the knife up ready to stab as he approached.

That was enough to take down an elephant!

He was now in front of me.

Even if I get up he has one movement and I'm dead. Even if I roll, he can just change trajectory.

I waited for the final blow.

I hear a growl before a thud and I see Nick charged into Kimat's chest pushing him into a table smashing it. Nick then grabs his suit and brings his fist across his face, making a firm smack. Kimat goes for a the stab but Nick uses his other forearm to parry it away. Kimat kicks Nick away and he stumbles back. Kimat growls before charging at Nick with the knife in the air. Kimat brings the blade down towards Nick and it makes contact with a pool stick. Nick held the pool stick with both paws above his head as Kimat's blade shook.

"Your quite the brave fox. Trying to impress the girl?" Kimat growled.

Then the stick carried the knife away and before Kimat could react, it flew out of his paw. Nick used the stick like a baseball bat and slammed it across Kimat's head, making it break with a snap. Nick threw the broken stick away and punched him across the face. He used the momentum to bring his same arm back but making the elbow slam across his face. He used his other paw that was holding Kimat and uppercutted him making his head whip up. Nick pulls his arm back to loft a fist before rushing it forward at him like a meteor.

I hear a loud crack.

Nick yells and throws Kimat on the floor. His body lay motionless and Nick turned towards me slowly with a face of pain. He was wincing hard as he had a worried expression holding his ribs, breathing hard.

He began to stumble over to me.

I try and stand but struggle to due so.

Before I could get a firm footing I see a Nick's paw in front of my face. I look to him before grabbing it firmly. He pulls me up and I stand stumbling a bit. I look to him and he began to walk away towards the 2 fallen bears. He crouched down and began to rummage through the bodies.

I approached and saw he was holding both of our pistols. He extended one of them out and I took it before sliding it back in its holster. He then took 2 of his fingers and placed them under the polar bears jaw.

"This one's alive," He stated now trying to stand.

I look over at the other that got shocked and see his leg pants tore. I walk over and crouch down. I place 2 fingers under his jaw and wait. Nothing. He was dead.

"Does anybody know CPR!" I shout firmly.

A tiger walked over and fell to his knees next to the fallen polar bear. He placed his paws on the polar bears chest and began to pump.

I sat in wait for any signs of life and nothing came.

"He's dead," The tiger wheezed

I sigh and look down.

"Kimat and the polar bear are alive," I hear Nick speak up next to me.

I look up to him and see he's still holding his ribs. I stand and pull out my radio.

"Officer Hopps to dispatch," I say lowly, letting go of the button.

"Hi Judy!" Clawhauser chirps.

"Clawhauser, send emergency team to the Vorific Lust bar on Tigma Road."

"Judy? Are you okay?" Clawhauser asks.

"Yes, but some mammals aren't."

Letting go of the button, I put the radio on my belt.

Nick and I were outside the club in the night next to the cruiser. Red and blue lights danced around as hospital vans and other cruisers were in the lot.

Nick was sitting on a little part on the cruiser with his arms crossed. I was sitting on the same part with my paws next to me holding it for support.

Tonight was quite eventful. We practically messed up a third of the bar. I've also never seen Nick really fight after the academy. He usually just used his rhetoric speaking. And even in situations of combat before the academy he chose to run. The only thing I've seen him do aggressive is push the sheep on the train incident with the last case.

Nick reached his arms up and hissed with a wince. He held the spot with his wince before crossing his arms again.

He got hurt from saving my life.

I turn to him and stand in front of him. I place my paws on his upper stomach.

"Let me see," I say softly.

He looks down at me with furrowed brows. He looked away and sighed before letting his arms fall down to his lap.

I slowly trail my paw up and feel around his ribs. I began to apply pressure lightly in certain spots, looking to his face for a reaction. Once I came to the lower right side of his ribs cage and applied pressure, he winced. I kept my paw there without applying pressure.

In wed to be careful to not push in a fractured rib.

I feel a little but don't feel any cracks of chipped points I push a little again to see if any side went in further than the the other. It didn't.

"You don't have any broken ribs but it's probably bruised pretty badly." I say lifting my paw off.

"Hopps, Wilde." A gruff voice spoke.

I look over and see Chief Bogo with his arms crossed and his typical glare on his face.

"It seems you captured the very notorious crime boss, Kimat."

"I don't know how you managed to find him but great work you two."

I feel a little conflicted as I form a response.

"Thank you sir."

He then turned and walked away towards the commotion.

Sighing, I plop back on the front of the cruiser.

I need to tell him that Kimat has nothing to do with the disaster.

"Told you you get a good look at the stars," Nick speaks lowly next to me.

I see him looking up at the night sky so I do the same.

The sky was speckled with bright stars and a bright luminous glow of the moon. It was actually breathtaking to see the stars again and the natural Universe above that encapsulated us. It was like my first time in Zootopia.

"It's beautiful," I conclude.

Nick doesn't respond.

Silence drifted over us as I continued to stare and examine the stars and the infinite cosmos above.

I actually felt small this time. Really small. But then I remembered, that I myself have risen past all odds despite my size.

I hear Nick sigh before he spoke.

"Well I hate to ruin this for you Carrots but I think we should get some rest for tomorrow."

It took me a second to conform a response from the state of almost hypnosis.

"Alright, let's go," I say finally sliding off the front, heading for the drivers side of the cruiser with the new found memory of the sky.

Authors Note: I wanted to have a touch of mafia/syndicate in this story. But with a more psychotic crime lord. He's been bullied for his eye disorder heterochromia and he's a predator as well so oppression is present . Thought it would be interesting but who knows.
