Chapter Eleven of "Millenniumon's Revenge" by Melinda-chan
I like to thank everybody that gave me their opinion on Digimon choices. I'll explain Cocomon more. Author notes are at the end of this chapter.
The Digimon fight had started.
Just as Takato expected, Ruki went straight for Veemon.
"POISON IVY!" Palmon shouted. She then sprouted her limbs at the Dragon Digimon.
"Veemon, evade her!" Takato commanded. The blue Digimon quickly went to its left, which made Palmon go to its left.
"Keep dodging!" Takato then said.
"You think that just dodging Palmon will win you this round?" Ruki sneered. "Go closer and attack him again, Palmon!"
"Poison Ivy!" Palmon said after it went closer to Veemon. The Vegetation Digimon sprouted its arms to grab the Dragon Digimon again.
In the meantime, Kazu and Kenta were in a head-butting contest represented by Betamon and Armadillomon.
"Go, Armadillomon!" Kenta yelled.
"Don't give in, Betamon!" Kazu yelled.
In another area of the square, Jenrya got the shock of his life when his younger sister decided to attack Cocomon.
"What are you doing, Shuichon?" Jenrya asked.
"I'm attacking your Digimon!" Shuichon answered. "I want to see Antylamon again!" Gazimon went to Cocomon.
"You don't know if you're going to get him or not!" Jenrya stated.
"I want to win to find out!" Shuichon said. "Blast his Digimon!" Gazimon turned at Cocomon, who just looked at it with its beady eyes.
"Cocomon, get out of there!" Jenrya said. "You're no match for it!" The small Digimon just kept staring at the rabbit Digimon.
"I don't think so," Shuichon said with narrowed eyes. "There's no place to hide for your walking coconut ball! Mwahaha!"
'Shuichon's gone evil!' Jenrya thought with sweat running down his face.
Juri and Salamon, meanwhile, were getting bored.
"I guess we have to wait until someone is through, Salamon," Juri said. The small Cat Digimon just mewed.
Takato, for his part, wasn't having much fun either.
'She got my Veemon!' Takato thought. He just saw his Dragon Digimon get wrapped around Palmon's limbs. If he doesn't do something fast, Palmon would squeeze him to death.
'This is way too easy,' Ruki thought. "Crush him now!" she shouted.
"Veemon, hang in there!" Takato yelled. 'I was hoping that Palmon might slam him to herself and then Veemon could head-butt from her body. But if she's just going to squeeze him like that…' he thought.
"Bite her!" Takato yelled. The Dragon Digimon promptly did as ordered.
"Ow!" Palmon said. She then let go of Veemon.
"Now run like hell!" Takato said. Veemon did just so.
"Was that your master plan?" Ruki said. "Go, get him, Palmon!"
'I'm doomed,' Takato thought. He only hoped that he could get a second wind from another person.
Juri was still watching everything with Salamon. She sat down, keeping on the lookout on her Digimon.
In the meantime, Jenrya was in the middle of the fight of his life with his own sister.
"Shuichon, what are you-" Jenrya started to say.
"Gazimon, Electric Stun Blast!" Shuichon yelled. The rabbit Digimon then tried to give a blast of electrical energy at Cocomon. The small white Digimon simply jumped out of the way. "Get back here!"
'I hope that Gazimon runs out of energy before Cocomon does' Jenrya thought. He then saw that Cocomon was heading for Juri and Salamon. "Hey!"
Juri heard him shout and saw that Cocomon was going right at her Digimon.
"SALAMON!" Juri said. "GO DOWN!" The Cat Digimon did as her master ordered and went down, covering her ears.
"BLAST THAT JUMPING COCONUT BALL NOW, GAZIMON!" Shuichon commanded. The rabbit Digimon then let out another electrical blast attack
In another part of the square, Ruki was looking right at Veemon. Her Digimon, Palmon, was catching up to the Dragon Digimon.
"Get him now!" Ruki ordered.
"POISON IVY!" Palmon said. She then reached for Veemon.
"Watch out, Veemon!" Takato shouted, not knowing what else to do. It was too late. Palmon had Veemon in her grasp.
"Slam it down hard onto the floor!" Ruki ordered.
'NO!' Takato thought. However, just as Palmon was about to slam Veemon, Cocomon jumped over her. The electrical blast from Gazimon hit her square on.
"PALMON!" Ruki screamed. The Digimon let go of Veemon just as her whole body went into shock. A minute later, Palmon disappeared.
"The first one out is…Ruki Makino and Palmon!" Ryo announced. Ruki fell down on her knees in shock.
'I lost at the first round? That can't be right!' the red-head thought. Just then, Armadillomon used this opportunity to slam Betamon down on the floor, using its back. The force of the blow and the weight of the Digimon shell caused Betamon to disappear too.
"Oh no!" Kazu said. That made Ruki even more shocked.
'I lost with Kazu?' Ruki thought. She then grabbed her head. 'This got to be a bad dream!'
"The second one out is Kazu Shioda and Betamon!" Ken said. Takato didn't know what to say.
"That's it for me, I guess! Good luck everyone!" Kazu said. Ruki, however, was not a good sport.
"I can't believe that I lost with you!" Ruki screamed, pointing to him. She then looked at Cocomon and then at Jenrya. "I hate you too! You all can just go away!"
"Ruki, please-" Takato started to say when Ruki turned to look at him.
"And I don't need any pity from you!" Ruki said. "What is the purpose of this anyway?" She then looked at Ken and Ryo. "Tell me why are we doing this for? Is this just for a Digimon? What type of Digimon is it?"
"I don't know. We're just the officiants," Ryo replied. Ruki turned to look at SkullSatamon.
"Do you know what Digimon it is?" Ruki asked.
"I was sent by the Digital World powers to find the Chosen Children that would be part of the tournament. I don't know personally what Digimon it is, but you can be sure that the Digimon will be suited for the winner," SkullSatamon said. "Now if you have another question, save it until a winner can be declared. You're officially out of the tournament." Ruki said nothing but simply pouted, turning her head away too.
"All right," Ryo said. "The remaining participants are Takato Matsuda and Veemon, Jenrya Lee and Cocomon, Kenta Kitagawa and Armadillomon, Shuichon Lee and Gazimon, and Juri Katou and Salamon. All of the Digimon now will digivolve into their Champion forms." A white light then enveloped all of the Digimon and various new forms appeared.
"Wow!" Kenta exclaimed. All of the Digimon, for the most part, had grown bigger and more powerful. Takato could only gaze at Veemon's new form.
Veemon was now a great blue Digimon that was more of a dragon than his previous incarnation. All of the others, except Gatomon, were also a lot bigger.
"I'll introduce the new Digimon" Ryo said. "Juri Katou and Gatomon, Kenta Kitagawa and Ankylomon, Shuichon Lee and Cyclomon, Jenrya Lee and Macaroomon, and Takato Matsuda and Ex-Veemon. All of you now proceed with the second round…starting now!"
'Okay. Ruki's out so whom should I look out for?' Takato thought. 'Gatomon looks easy enough, but do I want to take Juri out of this just yet?' All of a sudden, he saw that Kenta was looking right at him. "Ex-Veemon!"
"Ankylomon, give him a Tail Hammer!" Kenta said, pointing at Ex-Veemon.
"Brace yourself, Ex-Veemon!" Takato said. Ex-Veemon did so, using his great strength to hold his ground. He then grabbed hold of Ankylomon's tail.
"That's it!" Takato said. "Throw him down on the ground!"
"Oh no!" Kenta said. "Um, bite him!" He didn't know what else to say.
Ankylomon tried to obey Kenta, but he found it difficult to bite him when he was hanging from his tail. He growled.
"That's it!" Takato said. "Throw him like yesterday's garbage!" Ex-Veemon roared. He then did as Takato said.
"Ankylomon!" Kenta said. The Digimon shook its head and ran at Ex-Veemon. "What are you doing?" Anklyomon, overcome with anger, ran to his opponent and then swung its tail at him.
"Dodge it!" Takato yelled. Ex-Veemon stepped back and dodged the attack. "Now do your, uh, chest attack." He forgot the name for a second.
"Ankylomon, watch out!" Kenta warned. Before his Digimon could respond, Ex-Veemon released his Vee Laser attack. Ankylomon, not being able to hide into his shell anymore, immediately deleted upon impact.
"ANKYLOMON!" Kenta shouted. Ryo was about to put up his hand when he saw something else going on.
At another part of the square, Shuichon and Jenrya were locked in battle.
'Why is she after me?' Jenrya thought. 'It's as if she thinks that by defeating me, she can have Antylamon.' He then looked at her new Digimon. 'It's a Dragon Man-type Digimon so I have to be really careful how to fight it-'
"Roast him!" Shuichon ordered. Jenrya watched in horror as Cyclomon readied his heat attack.
"NO!" Jenrya yelled. Just then, Gatomon ran at Cyclomon.
"Get him!" Juri yelled. Shuichon was so startled by this that she didn't respond at first. Gatomon then jumped at Cyclomon.
"Lightning Paw!" Gatomon yelled. Shuichon finally snapped back to attention.
"Cyclomon, your heat attack!" Shuichon shouted. Her Digimon swung around to face Gatomon.
"Hyper Heat!" the Digimon said. Now Juri watched in horror as Cyclomon attacked her Cat Digimon.
"GATOMON!" Juri yelled. It was too late for her to call another attack- she watched in horror as Gatomon disintegrated in the blast. "GATOMON!" Tears then came down her face.
'I defeated at least one Digimon," Shuichon said. Jenrya was outraged.
"Macaroomon! Get Cyclomon!" he ordered. The big, white, hairy Digimon promptly obeyed. Shuichon had to look back.
"Get him!" Shuichon said. Cyclomon tried to do as she ordered, but Macaroomon simply lowered itself to the floor, dodging the heat attack. Shuichon gasped.
"Now, uh, eat him," Jenrya said as he saw his Digimon open its big mouth. Macaroomon then took Cyclomon into its mouth. Cyclomon immediately disappeared.
"Cyclomon!" Shuichon cried.
'I should be sad, but she deserved a lesson,' Jenrya thought. Ryo then raised his hand.
"I was about to announce the defeat of Kenta Kitagawa and Ankylomon, but it appears that Juri Katou and Gatomon, and Shuichon Lee and Cyclomon has been defeated as well," Ryo said. "So that leaves only Takato Matsuda and Ex-Veemon, and Jenrya Lee and Macaroomon! Now for the final, both of the Digimon will digivolve into their Ultimate forms! For everyone's protection, the square will be enlarged and a screen will surround it. Still, there's no guarantee that the screen will hold, so everyone keep your full attention on what's happening on the square." He then paused. "Now, please go back five metres to allow the square to expand." At that, everyone but Ruki, who was already back far enough, did as he said.
"Now for the screen" Ryo said. He then looked at Ken, who pressed a button on his panel. A low hum could be heard. "The screen should be invisible to the human naked eye, but you can still feel it if you come too close. Just to test it out-" Ryo then threw a stone at it. A loud buzz was then heard as it hit an invisible wall. It then dropped to the ground below.
"The screen is in place," Ryo said. "Will Takato and Jenrya take their place before their Digimon as they digivolve?" They did just so.
'This is it,' Takato thought. 'If I beat Jenrya, I can get the mysterious Digimon. Maybe it'll be Guilmon after all.'
'I hope this Digimon knows what it's going,' Jenrya thought. 'All I know is that it looks like a giant coconut ball and likes to eat.' Takato then turned his head at Jenrya, who then looked back at him. They met their intense glares, and nodded.
"Alright!" Ken said. "This is the last round! Whoever wins this will be the champion! If everyone is ready, let this begin!" He then put down his arm. "For the last time, fight!"
End of Chapter Eleven
I was planning on making one more chapter, but I was getting anxious to wrap this arc up, so I've decided to kill two birds (or Digimon in this case) with one stone, and so have Ankylomon, Gatomon and Cyclomon defeated all at once. Sorry, takari freek, but I hope that you'll understand why I allowed Ruki to be defeated so early. In case you didn't know, Digimon Savers is being dubbed right now, with Jeff Nimoy working with the cast. I know that there'll be a few changes (big surprise there) but I'm excited about a new Digimon series being dubbed. I was getting tired on relying on fanfiction and the Internet to keep my love of Digimon going. If you want to talk about it, go ahead. If every Digimon fan supports the series, Digimon might even be bigger than before. Digimon is the property of Toei Animation. The Wonderswan games are the property of Sony Japan. Author Notes of Chapters 1-10 of "Millenniumon's Revenge":
I started this way back in 2003 (I can't believe that it has been that long!) because of two things: a lack of Ryo fics and an opportunity to know more about Ryo before Digimon Tamers. While there have been inconsistencies, I did notice a few things:
Ryo appear to be the same one, not two different Ryos from two different dimensions.
Ryo appeared to have lost all of his memory in connection with Millenniumon. Whether it was a side-effect from all of his adventures, or was inflicted by Millenniumon or somebody else isn't totally known.
Cyberdramon is a hybrid of Millenniumon and Monodramon, but don't know anything about his past, either as Millenniumon or Monodramon.
I know that some of my readers may have more information, so if you have played the games or else know about them, please let me know! I would like to fill the gaps of my knowledge if I can.
I already gave the sources for my fic, so here's my author notes for Chapters 1-10:
Chapter 1
I couldn't believe how old my fic was until I realized that I was still writing "Ryan's Downfall: The Story," which I have long abandoned. I was like, "How old is this?!" This was made when still had lemons and original fiction. I must really been slow in updates, but it have been only a year or two ago when this story has really picked up. Thanks for all the reviews!
Ryo's flashback dream, of course, was from the anime. I forgot which episode it was ("Genesis of Evil?"), but it only lasted for a minute or two. I did see pictures from the scene on websites, so I got the descriptions right. Since this was from Ryo's POV, I don't think that he would remember Ken's name just yet.
How did Cyberdramon ended up back in Ryo's world, especially when he was supposed to be in Baby form in the Digital World? I don't know, but he was in his usual state (that is, feral), which meant it was the same Cyberdramon. I know that it would be a stretch for Ryo to tie him to a rope, but I don't think that Cyberdramon would've gone very far without Ryo. Maybe like Millenniumon, Cyberdramon would always be drawn to Ryo, whether he liked it or not.
Illusamon (from "illusion" of course) took some time to conceive if I remember correctly. I did want a Digimon capable of unlocking memories and giving nightmares. Illusamon looked like a nervous rabbit because, well, I had to make him skittish, so I made him into a nervous rabbit. (I know that some people would think of a cat first, but I did know one cat that was so tough that she would chase dogs, so I thought of a rabbit instead).
As for Millenniumon's plan, I admit that my plan wasn't very original, but it did accomplish its purpose, which you'll see in Chapter Two.
Chapter Two
In order to prepare for Chapter Two, I had to read Millenniumon fics in order to get an idea about the Dark God Digimon (there were very few Millenniumon fics beside mine and it's still like that today). I also went to Ajora's and a few other websites. There were a few mistakes but it didn't seem that nobody noticed them.
I didn't say why Cyberdramon and Ryo were separated when they went to the Digital World. Of course, it would be cool for Cyberdramon to make a dramatic entrance and to put Ryo in a position that would force him to use his new power. It got very tense. Of course, the whole point of all of this was to make Ryo get a black spore or seed into him. I read a review that suggested that Ryo would become the next Digimon Emperor. What I do plan of course will be my own secret for now, but you can say that Ryo will have his own problems after the tournament is over.
The two entities that were talking were in fact ENIAC and Atanasoff. In case you were wondering, Atanasoff is more powerful than ENIAC, being the older, but serves as the backup, while ENIAC serves as the main power for the Digital World. When XeedMillenniumon tried to shut down the Digital World, it was Atanasoff that kept it online. As it was older than ENIAC, I pictured it as a smaller but more powerful ball of light with a fatherly voice, while ENIAC will be a bit bigger with a more youthful voice. You'll find parts of Millenniumon's plan in Chapter Three.
Chapter Three
I asked readers which dimension I should start and I'm not sure if I got a response. I decided to continue with the Tamers and then go to Ken's dimension. You may have noticed Wormmon using "Ken-chan." I haven't used honorifics before- mainly because I didn't consider them necessary in this fic- but I thought "Ken-chan" was so cute that I put it in anyway. I included information on the real John Atanasoff, the creator of the Atanasoff-Berry Computer or ABC ("Berry" came from Clifford Berry, his assistant) who is still overlooked in the history of computers. I had a reviewer who told me that John Atanasoff was her great-uncle. A great-uncle is a brother of someone's grandparents. My own grandparents were born mostly in the 1920s. Either in her family have their children late or she meant her great-great uncle. It's still nice to know that someone else knows that he existed. When ENIAC put Ken and Wormmon in a place where they saw Lampmon and Deathmon, I had to look for descriptions of them since I didn't know what they exactly look like and likely most of my readers as well. Lampmon does indeed look like a green moustached genie. Deathmon, well, will probably is something that you don't want to see when you wake up at night- it looked like a ghoulish version of the Grim Reaper. By now, ENIAC has been using creatures like the Digi-Gnomes and Leafmon for its own purposes, but from now on, it'll be using humans as well. That was the real purpose for giving the Crest of Kindness back to Ken, but he'll have to find that out on his own.
Chapter Four
As I read this, I realized that I repeated Takato and his mother's conversation twice. Gomen! I'll try to fix it if I can find the file. The Digimon racing game that Jenrya had came from a real Digimon game called Digimon Racing for the GameBoy Advance. That was a few years ago. I also would like to make a comment about Yamaki and Reika. While both of them were technically manager and subordinate, they are also a couple. I am planning to add more information on them once the kids got out of the Digital World. I think I've explained the comtran (communicator & transporter device) well enough, but if you do have any questions about it, don't hesitate to ask. Kazu and Kenta gets taken by a Data Stream again…ah we know where they're heading.
Chapter Five
Ken's first test- ShadowIllusamon tried to find Ken but fell into the sand instead! As you can see, ShadowIllusamon's powers are also mental. As I look back, it resembles the Magenkyou Sharingan from "Naruto." ShadowIllusamon's Nightmare Void would've taken Ken to the darkest depths of his mind. Of course, Wormmon came to the rescue in the nick of time. DinoBeemon and his attack Irritant Buzz is the real Ultimate form of Wormmon and main attack. I had to look it up (thank you Meg-chan!) I have no idea what Irritant Buzz really is, but I suspect it's either a sound or a sting attack. By the way, I haven't decided on what form Illusamon will be when he returns (he's a Digi-Egg now), but he'll return.
Chapter Six
This was the chapter in which MarineAngemon and Yaamon (Impmon's Baby form) made their debut appearance. I found it comical for Juri to throw her sock puppet at Deathmon, but I just wanted to get rid of the thing. Can you imagine Juri with her sock puppet at the tournament? I do have a question: what sound does MarineAngemon make? When I was writing this chapter, it has been years since I last watched any of the Tamers episodes and I wasn't sure whether it was "POO POO POO" or something else. I guess it's too late to ask now but I just want to make sure of it. The chapter ends with Kazu and Kenta with Ken. Anybody else got excited?
Chapter Seven
I know that both Kazu and Kenta were big fans of the Digimon Emperor, so I could imagine how they would feel when they saw Ken. I remember Kenta mentioning the Digimon Emperor, so I'm very sure that they would be ecstatic. Poor Wormmon almost got cuddled to death! I could imagine Wormmon's eyes popping out from being squeezed! I included some comedic interaction between Kazu and Kenta- they're just so great together. This is also the debut of SkullSatamon. It's usually an evil Digimon, but I included him as a "good guy" in this fic, but who knows whose side he's really on?
Chapter Eight
When Ryo fell, only Cyberdramon was there, and he couldn't help him. I do wonder if he had any memories at all before he became Cyberdramon. That ball of light that SkullSatamon gave to Ryo was a package of data about the tournament plus a purging system to keep the Dark Seed from corrupting it. It contained everything that he (and Ken) needed to know to do their job (though not all of the data is accessible at the same time- it needs to be processed first!) The tournament was inspired by the Cell Games saga of DBZ. However, I did make a few changes from this chapter to the next chapter on the rules. At first, I wanted all of them to fight at the same time- a true battle royale. But I soon realized how difficult it would be to
