Anyeonghassaeyo... It's me Hyunbin with my latest chapter of NBFTY... Sorry if I took too long to write, but if I must say, I'm writing all of this on my handphone, and it pretty much takes time...

And I'd also like to answer one of my reviews. To fallforhaehyuk, I just wanted to tell you that Kai wants to get Tao because wants revenge on Kris. You see, Kai was convinced that Kris had something to do with his pack being killed. Kai had many people he loved killed, and wants to take revenge on Kris by killing Tao.

Well, thank you to those of you who have reviewed, even thought I only have 5, but since I'm new, that's actually counted good to me...

Well, without further ado... Chapter 10 of No Better Father Than You...

Kris looked at the woman in front of him. It was the woman who he hated all his life, the woman who had separated him from his own father, who created a feud between him and his friends, the woman who had made him go to war against the wolves and banished him afterwards. It was his stepmother, Averna.

Kris quickly pulled Tao closer to him, pulled his hood over his head, and hid him behind his back. He didn't want her to see his face, because if she did, he may become another person on her list of people to kill. Kris looked at Averna.

"What are you doing here?"

"To get you son". Hearing the words which had just came out of Averna's voice, Kris was completely disgusted, he felt like he needed to vomit. Son? How on exo could he ever be her son?

"Who are you talking about? If you're referring to me, I was never your son to begin with"

"Kris, how could you ever say that?"

"HAVE YOU EVER LOVED ME AS A SON?". Averna had an evil smirk on her face. She stepped up so that she could get at least a bit closer to Kris, but Kris stepped back. He didn't even want to get near that witch. Averna eyed Kris, and said to him...

"Of course I did. I only wanted what was best for you. No mother would want her son to be hanging out with such dirty blooded creatures"

"Werewolves are NOT dirty blooded. They're just as pure as dragons. The only one with dirty blood here is YOU"

"Well at least I was kind enough to spare a few of the wolves. Maybe I should have just slaughtered them all in the first place, that way you wouldn't spend any time with them anymore, so that you would stay away from them"

"So that was why you did it? YOU KILLED 90% OF THE WOLVES SO THEY WOULD HATE US AND I WOULDN'T BE WITH THEM? I LOST ALL MY WOLF FRIENDS BECAUSE OF THAT!"

"Well, I'm glad that my plan had worked. You have no more wolf friends, and I'm glad. But Kris, let me ask you...". Kris looked at Averna, curios of what she would ask.

"Why did you spare that man's life?". Averna said, as she pointed to the man a few feet behind Kris. That man was Kai. He was back to normal, and completely healed, probably thanks to Lay.

"So what if I did?". Averna cocked one of her eyebrows at Kris. "You may not know it, but I've been here for quite some time, watching you. That man's intentions were only to kill that boy hiding behind you". Tao's eyes widened. He was about to take a peek at this woman, wanting to get a good look at her, but Kris held a strong grip on his hand. "Don't show her your face" Kris whispered. Tao remained behind his father, with his head behind his shoulders, not letting Averna see his face.

Kris looked at Averna, "And your point is?"

"Why show mercy to the man who had been trying to kill someone you completely care about?"

"Let me ask you this, why did Kai want to kill him?"

"Because he wants revenge, isn't that right?"

"Revenge for what?" Kris asked

"For killi... Oh, that's right, he doesn't know that you were never a part of the killers. Well technically he did, but he never believed you. I guess it really was my fault"

Kris was in complete shock. This person isn't a witch, more like a devil. She doesn't even care a single bit for him.

"Averna, tell me why you're even here!"

"I told you, I wanted to get you back, so that we could be a family again"

"What makes you think that I would go back to you?". Averna looked down. Tears started to flow out of her eyes, and down to her cheeks. She gritted her teeth, and then yelled at Kris. "I'm so sorry!". Kris widen his eyes to what she had said.

Averna lifted her head and looked Kris in the eye. Her eyes had turned blue, which had surprised Kris. Averna's eye color would change often, due to what her emotions are. Red for anger, blue for sadness, gold for happiness, black for hatred, and there was even white, for emotionless. There were so many other colors that would show her emotion, and sometimes her magic. Kris had seen all colors except for white. But now that it was blue, Averna really 'was' sad.

"I never wanted things to end up this way, son. I only wanted to be with you. You're the only family I have left now. I'm sorry"

Something in Kris's heart had changed. It was like he had forgotten about all his hatred towards Averna, and forgave her. Was it possible? Maybe yes, but it would probably take forever, and yet, he forgave her in an instant.

Averna held up her hand, wanting to welcome back her son. Kris walked forward towards Averna, leaving Tao behind. Tao looked at Kris and widened his eyes. Was his father leaving him?

Suho looked at Averna's eyes. Something was odd about it. He didn't see sadness in there, yet he saw something else. It wasn't an emotion, more like a beacon, like when some bugs are attracted to light. Something to get people to do what they say for that light. It was then when he had realized, that her eyes weren't blue, they were slightly turquoise, and in her eye color language, it meant hypnosis.

"KRIS! YOU'RE BEING HYPNOTISED!" Suho yelled with all his might, but for some reason, Kris would answer, he wouldn't even look back at him. He was in a trance.

All dragons raced to save their prince, but Averna had murmured something, no one could have heard nor understood. With a quick flash, Averna had hit all coming dragons to the ground. Suho then ran towards Tao, who was still obeying his father, trying to cover his face from Averna. Suho looked at him, and said...

"Tao, I don't know what Averna cast on him, but I think I know the cure". Tao widen his eyes and quickly looked at Suho.

"What?"

"I looked into her eyes earlier, and saw that it was a spell to hypnotize people, and it could only be undone by someone who is a part of the caster's family. Kris is Averna's son, and you're Kris's son..."

"I'm not technically his son"

"But you were already adopted by him, right? You are legally his son, right?". Tao nodded, and he looked at Kris. He was a few steps away from Averna, and he didn't even realize that all dragons were fighting for him.

"You can do it". Tao nodded. He ran straight for his father, seeing he was only about five steps away from Averna. Tao wouldn't be able to make it.

"Kris, stop!". But there wasn't any luck to that. Kris kept walking towards Averna. Averna, seeing that Tao was running towards them, had a fireball ready in her hands, and within a second, launched it at Tao, and exactly after Averna launched that fireball, Kris was right in front of her, holding his hand up, about to hold Averna's.

Tao wasn't able to see this anymore. With all his might he yelled so hard...

"STOP!"

It was a sudden moment, and Tao had seen something completely incredible. Kris stopped, so did Averna and her fireball, and so the dragons, and the wolves. Everything had stopped.

Tao stepped forward, and yet everything was still in the same place where they were that very second Tao yelled. What was this? Tao doesn't even know anything. But for now, he didn't care. He ran straight for his father, and pulled him away from Averna. As soon as he was far enough from her, he laid him down and pulled him in tight for a hug. Tao looked into his father's eyes. They had turned the same color as Averna's.

Tao's eyes started to tear up, as he looked into his father's blank eyes. He had already lost one father, if he had lost Kris, then his life would be ruined. Kris's eyes had started to close by the second, until they were completely shut.

"Dad, please come back to me". Tao dropped one last tear from his eyes, and it had fell right onto Kris's cheek, and just as Suho said, Kris's eyes had opened, and had turned back to it's original color. Kris looked at Tao, and pulled him into a hug. For the first time ever, it wasn't Kris who had saved Tao, it was Tao who saved Kris.

After Tao's thoughts had cleared up and he had calmed down, time went back to normal. All eyes were now on the father and son. It was only after a minute, Kris realized that Averna was still there. His eyes had turned red. He felt that he was about to lose his temper. But he couldn't. He wouldn't. Not in front of Tao, he didn't want to turn into that monster in front of his son. He didn't want his son to see him that way.

Averna's eyes had switched to the same color as Kris's. She gritted her teeth clenched both her fists, turning her knuckles into a white-ish color. She looked at Kris, seeing that the boy who ruined her plan was right next to him.

"You! YOU DID THIS!" Averna aproached Tao. Kris pushed Tao, so that he was behind him. Averna looked at Kris, and tilted her head sideways. "Move out of the way, Kris". Kris looked at Averna, and shook his head.

"I'm not letting you near him"

"Kris... MOVE!". Kris was thrown across the field into a tree and had broken his right leg, leaving Tao helpless. The other dragons raced off to help the two of them, but Averna had put a spell on them. They couldn't get anywhere near them. Hiding behind his hood, Tao looked at Averna, seeing that she was now in standing front of him.

"You little brat ruined my entire plan"

"I won't let you hurt Kris"

"And who are you to say that?"

"My name is Tao, and I am Kris's son". Averna looked at the boy. To the fact that Tao was still wearing a hood, she still couldn't see his face. She held her hand up, and out of no where, she blasted a fireball straight to his stomach. To the dragons, that would have been nothing, but to Tao, that was enough to wound him.
Tao laid on the grown, staring at his abdomen, as thick red liquid flowed down it. If it were only a knife or a bullet, maybe Tao might be able to take it, due to his wushu lessons, but this was too much for him. He yelled in pain, as his vision started to blur and darken, as he swiftly closed his eyes.

"NO!". All eyes had now locked on Kris. Although he was badly wounded, he limped his way towards Tao, and landed right beside him. Kris looked at his son. His eyes were closed shut. Tears flowed out Kris's eyes as he saw his beloved son motionless on the ground. Averna looked at Kris's behavior, and called out to him.

"Kris, move..."

"No...". Averna's eyes began to change into a silver color, as electricity began to flicker through her hands and hair.

"Unless you wanna die, then move NOW!"

"I'D RATHER DIE THAN BE WITH YOU! The number one person I cared about is gone because of you"

"Kris, I cannot undo this spell. Move NOW!"

"NO!"

"KRIS!"

A massive explosion had been let out by the witch, followed solid white light. As the light faded away, Averna noticed that there were no grey ashes on the ground, not even a speck. That only meant one thing. She missed, but how? How could she miss that much of a target?

Cliffhanger... Sorry, but again, I had to cut it off somewhere, and this seemed like the perfect place. Anyways, thankyou for reading, and please review... I'll try to write the next chapter as fast as I can...
