"Well, this is definitely better than the last Pit we had." Clark said as he walked into the GI Joe command center, with the other Joes and the members of the Justice League following close behind. As soon as the group stepped into the room, every weapon was pointed straight at them.

"Who the hell are you?" One soldier asked and Clark just shook his head.

"Duke, didn't you remind Joe to update the roster?"

"Sorry Kal, must've slipped my mind." He replied with a laugh.

"My name is Clark Kent, but you can call me Kal. Now everyone put your weapons down... NOW!" He yelled when no one moved to put their weapons away. Slowly everyone complied, except for the soldier who had originally asked who he was.

"Do we have a problem soldier?" He asked, anger creeping into his tone.

"I don't know you from Adam and you've come with a bunch of costumed vigilantes, so yeah we've got a problem."

"Sergeant-" Duke started, but stopped when Clark put his hand up, signaling for him to be quiet.

"This is your last chance. You either put your gun down or I'll have you court-marshaled. Your choice." Clark told him.

"I don't think that's going to be necessary Major."

"Joe." He said with a grin, shaking the older man's hand.

"So you're Kal. I've heard a lot about you son." Another voice said, and Clark turned to see a man with a cane walking up to him. He knew who this was of course, having spent some time going over the G.I. Joe database.

"General Hawk." He replied, shaking the man's extended hand.

"Care to explain why you have some people in costume with you?" He asked and Clark nodded, but before he could respond the Sergeant chose to open his mouth again.

"They're a bunch of vigilantes and criminals. I say we put a hole in their heads, starting with Robin Hood."

However before the man could so much as raise his weapon Oliver had sent an arrow spinning past him, missing his ear by inches.

"Shut your damn mouth or the next one goes through an artery." Oliver told him.

"ENOUGH! Put the bow up Arrow. As for you Sergeant, I will not tolerate bigotry and disrespect. Either get that through your skull or get the hell out of my sight."

By now Clark was so angry he could feel a heat just behind his eyes, and he took a deep breath trying to calm himself before he lost control of his heat vision. He felt Jaye take his hand, squeezing softly in an attempt to help him calm down. Clark slowly opened his eyes and looked around the room, meeting every single eye. When he spoke it was in a carefully measured tone, one that brokered absolutely no argument.

"We do not have time for petty disagreements over legality or methods. Every single one of us has chosen to protect this country and this world, and now we are called upon to do it again. Cobra Commander has assembled an army of meteor-infected civilians that he has convinced to serve him. These people have more power than any normal human being, and I fear that we will be in for the fight of our lives."

He knew Lex told him he had a solution to end the war without bloodshed, but Clark didn't fully trust the young billionaire, and decided to err on the side of caution.

"What are we up against Major?" Joe asked, and Clark shook his head.

"Honestly Joe, I don't know what sort of powers we're going to deal with."

"I do."

Every single person in the room pulled out a weapon and pointed it towards the voice; Clark almost swore as he saw Alicia standing there, wondering if he and his friends were about to be ambushed again.

"On your knees! Now!" He yelled not willing to take any chances. Until he could control the situation he did not want Alicia to move unless he told her.

"Clark-"

"On your knees! Do it or so help me I will blow your head off."

The blonde slowly complied, her eyes never leaving Clark's.

"Slowly interlace your fingers behind your head, and if you so much as flinch you are dead." He told her, hating himself for having to sound so cold, but knowing it was necessary to protect everyone.

"Jaye, Scarlet, search her." He said quietly, and the two moved to do as he commanded, no one in the room missing his unspoken command to kill her if she tried anything.

"She's clean."

"Cuff her and take her to lockup. I'll be there in a minute."

"Clark, let me handle this." Jaye told him, and he nodded, knowing that he was too close to Alicia to handle her interrogation.

"Get me a report as soon as you're done."

"Yes sir." She replied, before she and Scarlet escorted Alicia out of the Pit's main control room.

"Major, who is that girl?" Hawk asked quietly once the three women had left.

"Someone I thought I knew." He replied softly.

"Sit down." Jaye said the minute they got into the interrogation room. Her voice brokered absolutely no room for argument; Alicia sat down, keeping her shackled hands on the tabletop. Jaye sat down on the other side, and just glared at the blonde for a moment, saying nothing. Finally she spoke.

"Do you know where you are?"

"No."

"Then how did you find us?"

"Clark."

"Clark told you?" Jaye asked, praying that she was just assuming; she loved her fiancee but be that as it may, there was no way she would cover for a traitor.

"No. I focused on him and I found myself here."

"Alright, I believe you. Now you need to tell me what sort of things we're up against."

"I...I can't."

"Listen to me Alicia. You have just broken into a top secret facility, never mind the fact that you led all of us into an ambush. Now you can either help yourself or you're going to end up in a deep hole somewhere for a very long time. Now I don't want to have to do that, and I know Clark dosen't want to have to watch you end up in prison but I can't help you until you help us. Think about Clark Alicia. He is going to be fighting an army of super powered people and no matter how strong he is there is a serious chance that he could get hurt unless you tell me what you know."

"Alright, I'll help you." She finally said, and she slowly began to tell Lady Jaye everything she knew.

"So what're we up against?" Clark asked when Jaye stepped out of the interrogation room. She didn't reply, just walking back to where the others were before she spoke.

"Thanks to Alicia we've learned that Cobra Commander has a series of top agents at strategic locations, all with specific parts to play in whatever his end game is."

"What is his end game?" Joe asked, and Jaye just shook her head.

"She didn't know. All she did know is that they only know their piece of the plan. That way we can't get it from one person."

"Do we have locations?" Hawk asked and she nodded.

"We have the location of seven of Cobra's agents. Alicia said she escorted them personally. She apparently got into Rex's good books."

"How many total agents are there?"

"Unknown."

"All right, then we're going to hit them in four man teams simultaneously. Each team will be accompanied by a League member, no exceptions. Here are your assignments." Clark said, handing over a sheet of paper he had been working on while Jaye was briefing them.

"Brother Kal, if you would give us a few words? It is custom after all." Duke said and Clark just chuckled before he looked them all in the eye.

"When he landed at Normandy on D-Day, General George S. Patton said "I'm not here so I can die for my country, I'm here so these bastards can die for theirs." Now we want them alive if at all possible, but if it comes down to it, make sure all of you get back here safe. Understood?"

"YES SIR!" The Joes yelled back and Clark smiled as he watched them all walk out, sending Oliver a look as he walked out after the belligerent Sergeant. Oliver nodded in understanding before he left, leaving Clark alone with Jaye, Cyborg and the Generals.

"We have to go give a report to the President." Joe said before he and General Hawk walked out of the room.

"I'll prep the jet." Cyborg said, and Clark nodded stiffly, shutting the door behind his friend.

"Alright Clark, what's the deal?"

"I didn't put you on my team because I'm worried about you. I put you on my team because you're the person I trust most to have my back." He told her seriously before kissing her.

"Good save. Now let's not keep Cyborg waiting." She told him before walking out of the room Clark watching every sway of her hips. She looked back at him and sent him a mock glare.

"What? I love a woman in uniform." He said shamelessly before they walked out to the jet.

"We ready to go Vic?"

"Yeah, but I thought you said these were four man teams?"

"They are. We'll pick him up on the way."

"You still haven't said where we're going."

"Japan. Tokyo to be exact."
