Disclaimer~ I do not own Soul Eater or its characters. Just the plot and the characters I have made.
Liz's POV
I watched Soul leave to go find Maka, I reached towards my litter sister and took her hand and squeezed it. I turned around to look at everyone who was still in our group; Tsubaki was the one who stood out to me. She had tears running down her face.
"What are we going to do now?" Black Star asked while standing away from his weapon, obviously feeling awkward in his position.
"We need to find supplies so we don't die." Kid replied while wrapping his arms around her, as if to comfort her.
"Where should we go to get supplies?" I asked looking around to see if anyone had suggestions. "We could go to Target, it's a store not many people think of going to…" Everyone nodded their heads, indicting they liked the idea.
We started to get ready to leave when I felt something tug on my shorts. I looked down to see Fire looking up at me with her arms raised up at me, indicating she wanted me to hold her. I bent down to pick her up gently.
"Hey beautiful, how are you doing?" I asked while kissing her forehead.
"Tired." She mumbled while resting her head on my shoulder.
"I know honey, you can take a nap on my shoulder while we walk. Thunder I bet Uncle Star would let you take a nap on his shoulder too if you asked him nicely." I whispered towards her while winking.
It wasn't long until Black Star had the little child on his hip.
"Do you think Target will be busy?" Crona mumbled, while he spoke we caught a zombie's attention, when he noticed he visibly stiffened.
"He's coming towards us. I don't know if I can handle this." He squeaked
Before anyone could reassure him the zombie's body was split in half and was on the ground.
"Don't worry, no zombie will get you." Tsubaki mumbled while walking ahead of us.
"Thank god the kids are sleeping." I muttered under my breath
"Come on! Hurry up. We need to get there before everyone else gets the same idea!" Tsubaki snapped infront of us.
When we arrived at the store there wasn't many zombies in the parking lot.
"Is this a good sign or bad sign?" Patty asked quietly towards me.
"Who knows…" I muttered
"Make sure to stay quiet at all times, and that Fire and Thunder stays on someone's hip at all times while we are in there. We don't want to lose any one in there but we have to expect the worst. Meisters stick with your weapons." Kid instructed while looking at each one of our faces.
"What should we look for?" Patty asked
"Liz, Patty, and I will get food. Black Star , you and Tsubaki can gather clothes. Crona you can get weapons and have Ragnarok hold them." Kid answered
"Okay, lets go." I said while shifting Fire on my hip. We all went inside the department store, expecting some of us won't be coming out.
Crona's POV~
"Why're you hanging out with a bunch of dweebs when you could survive on your own with me?" Ragnarok snarled in my head.
"Leave me alone you big bully. They're my friends."
"Don't tell me what to do you big pussy." He yelled while forming out of my back.
"Ragnarok be quiet! One of them could hear you! I don't know how to handle that." I pleaded
"Oh shut up. You know I can kill anything."
I stopped behind the bike section and looked at all the kids bikes.
"I wonder if Fire and Thunder know how to ride bikes…" I mumbled
"Forget about those little brats. I'm hungry! Get me some food." He started hitting my head; knowing I wouldn't be able to pay attention to anything else.
"Stop you're hurting me!" I whined while trying to swat his hands away. Suddenly he stopped. No snooty remark or anything, just stopped.
"Ragnarok?" suddenly I felt my blood start to boil.
I looked back at my black blood weapon to see his eyes completely black, and a piece of his upper arm missing.
"R-Ragnarok?" I whispered, as if my voice would snap him out of his daze; but instead of him snapping out of the daze, his body slowly let gravity take a hold of it.
I couldn't contain the panic that was rising inside of me and a scream ripped out of my throat when I saw the culprit of my best friend's death, munching on a piece of black meat.
"Crona?" someone yelled a few aisles behind me. I felt myself slowly backing away from the undead man until I felt movement on my back. I felt hands slowly grab at my hair.
"Crona!" I couldn't respond as the hands were now wrapped tightly around my neck. I tried to pry them off my neck but to no avail since they were slick in a black substance.
It wasn't long before black dots started appearing in my vision and my legs collapsed from under me. When I thought it was the end for me I started praying to Kami that I wouldn't be stuck in hell with Medusa.
I turned my head towards the aisle to see Black Star and Tsubaki running towards me. I closed my eyes, hoping they wouldn't see me die.
I was expecting death to take me but it never came; instead I felt the hands loosen their grip around my neck allowing me to gasp for breath.
"Help… me" I gasped while trying to roll away from the arms. I opened my eyes to see Black star holding Tsubaki in her sword form. I quickly got up while Ragnarok stayed on the ground; reaching up trying to grab at me again.
"Now that's how a real star does it!" Black Star shouted proudly with over-confidence.
Though he was jumping around I couldn't get myself to move. All I could do was stare at the bloody body of my weapon on the ground. "I don't know if I can handle this."I whimpered Black Star couldn't reply before my vision turned black and I felt my body slam on the floor.
Black Star's POV
Ah shit. Of course the little emo boy had to faint after my big performance; but did he have to to it when two zombies were trying to eat him?
I felt my weapon start to grow warm, indicating that she was turning back into her human form.
"Star, go get Thunder, I'll take care of this." She instructed I nodded before turning around and walking towards the aisle we left her in.
When I got to the opening between the two shelves I saw the cart we had left her in, but not her.
"Thunder" I called out, hoping she was hiding. But no answer, it wasn't until movement from in front of the cart had I found my answer.
I slowly made my way to the front of the cart; what I saw there I know I'll never be able to forget. A little boy, about seven years old biting into Thunder's little body. I screamed while grabbing a toy wooden bat and started hitting the little zombie boy until it was an unrecognizable blob of blood and meat.
I felt tear run down my face as I kneeled down next to Thunder.
"Uncle Star?" a whimper came from her mutilated body. "Why do I… hurt all…Over?"
I held her in my arms, tears streaming down my face.
"It'll be okay.." I whispered while trying to comfort her. I could tell how much pain she was in from just the look on her face.
"It hurts…" she whimpered out; she started gasping for air but could not get any. Suddenly she exhaled and her body went ridged. I knew I had just watched her take her final breath, though it was one of pure struggle.
I unclipped one of her hair clips as a way to have her with me at all times spiritually; though she wouldn't be there physically. I looked around to see what was around me until I found something that I found satisfactory.
"I'm so sorry I let this happen to you Thunder. But I won't let you become one of them." I whispered before pushing the piece of glass I had found from a broken light bulb into the soft skin behind her ear.
Knowing she won't come back as a zombie, I kissed her forehead before getting up and pushing the cart out of the aisle; away from the body of the little girl I let die.
Author's note~ well I managed it… it's all typed out… In this story both Thunder and Fire are girls. It'll go better in later chapters this way. Today's events left me in a depressing mood so there may be a chapter coming sooner than I had hoped; since writing is the only thing that distracts me now-a-days. Thanks for all the support for this story. It means a lot to me.
