Odairi laughed as his mother swung him around in a circle. 'I love mommy and daddy so much!' He felt his mother slow down until she came to a complete stop and he landed harshly on his feet. "Mommy?" He looked up at her face only to see that she was scared of something. But she didn't answer him. Instead she began dragging him away from where they had been and trying to remember where her husband was. Odairi looked back only once to see his father's and mother's past selves as well as Jaken's standing in the road. "There's something I need you to do for me Odairi."

"What is it?"

"Go find your father. I'll make sure to keep his past self here until you and your father get back."

"But mommy! I heard from Jaken that daddy always got what he wanted no matter what years ago!"

"Just go! I'll be fine. I promise." His mother gave him a quick kiss and he ran to find his father.

"Um, Lord Sesshomaru?" Jaken looked up at his master. "What are you going to do? She's just a worthless human."

But Lord Sesshomaru disagreed with his vassal. "She could be of some use." He took a step toward her but the woman didn't move an inch. He could smell the fear on her but it seemed she was hiding it very well. "You're hiding your fear well woman."

Rin grit her teeth angrily. "What do you want with me and my son?" She demanded, glaring at him.

"I want to know why you have Rin's scent and that half demon has both mine and her scent!" He walked towards her quickly but she didn't run.

'I won't move.' Rin thought bravely.

Jaken stared at the woman in fear. "I can't believe on earth what she's doing! Why would a human woman be standing up to Lord Sesshomaru!?"

"I don't know Master Jaken." Rin spoke as she watched the scene. "Maybe he wants to know if her and I are related." Then Jaken looked up at the 8 year old. "Don't be such a fool, Rin! Master Sesshomaru would never do such a thing."

When Sesshomaru reached her, she stood there staring into his beautiful gold eyes. That's when he grabbed her by the front of her expensive blue kimono that was covered with cherry blossoms. "Who are you?" He demanded, taking in her scent until his eyes widened. Rin didn't even notice until he had spoken "You're pregnant." "I'm what?" Happy tears filled her brown eyes. "I can't wait to tell him! I hope he'll be happy."

But the dog demon ignored her and looked her up and down until he spotted a strange mark on her neck. He slowly ran his pointer finger along the mark and he noticed the young woman immediately had stiffened, biting her bottom lip to stop the sounds she wanted to cry out. Slowly, no matter how hard she wanted to resist from removing his hand, Rin brought her hand up and pulled Sesshomaru's hand away "Don't tease me like that!" She yelled angrily at him.

Sesshomaru realized what the mark now was. "So, you've been marked by a dog demon lord." He smirked. "My mother has one similar to it but it has a different shape." He frowned. "I was told by my mother that the only who can touch the mark is their mate."

Rin froze as did Jaken. 'I never knew that. Sesshomaru never said a word to me about it.' "Let me go, please!" She begged.

Sesshomaru dropped her on her butt and she ran as fast as she could. "Odairi where are you?!" She looked back to see if she was being followed and sadly she was. Sesshomaru had sent Jaken and Rin after her.

"Mommy!" Rin heard her name being called out and she looked forward to see her mate flying towards her. 'Odairi. Sesshomaru.' She smiled at them but it faded when she felt something graze her right forearm. Her pace began to slow when she felt weak and tired. She felt hot and her mouth became dry. Her vision became blurry as she finally coughed and fell into strong arms.

Sesshomaru held her lightly as Rin and Jaken landed beside him. "What happened?" Rin slid off Ah-Un and walked toward the 3.

"It looks like she was poisoned by some kind of Hell demon. But how would a Hell demon be able to get here?" Jaken questioned.

"I don't think it was a Hell demon, Master Jaken. It looked more like an arrow that was covered in something green." Rin looked at the imp demon.

Sesshomaru picked up Rin while Odairi climbed on his back. "I'm going. If you want to go back to your Lord Sesshomaru you may but if you want to follow then hurry. I have to save her."

Rin happily began following him until Jaken said "Lord Sesshomaru will worry."

"Yes but I just want to know what happens! Tell milord that I'm safe okay Master Jaken?"

"But I'll be killed if I don't stay with you!" Jaken ran after them and jumped onto the dog demon's mokomoko just as he began to ascend into the sky.

"Odairi?" His father spoke up before looking down at his mate once more. "Yes daddy?"

"When we get there, I want you to be with the others." Sesshomaru looked back at him.

Shocked and worried Odairi said over the wind "What about mommy?"

Finally catching his brother's scent, he declared "That's why we are going to Kagome." He quickened his speed only to hear Rin laughing and telling him to go faster, and Jaken crying for him to slow down.

The morning sun made Kagome squint as she opened her eyes. 'Morning already?' She was about to sit up until wind blew all around her, waking her friends and children up. Looking up, she noticed Sesshomaru standing in front of her holding Rin who was barely breathing. "What happened to her Sesshomaru?" She quickly stood.

"Poison." He stated. "She was running from my past self when an arrow covered with poison grazed her forearm."

As Kagome took in all the information, Odairi and Rin and Jaken climbed off the mokomoko. "If he ever goes that fast again, I shall tell milord." Jaken fell on his back.

Rin and Odairi laughed as Mika and Usagi walked up to them. "Hey Odairi." Mika yawned. "Where have you been?"

"I've been with mother and father." He said before looking over at his mother's face who's eyes were closed and blood still dripped from her mouth.

Kiri walked up to them with a sad face as well. "What's wrong Kiri?" Setsuna rubbed her eyes, blocking the sun with a blanket.

"Saya" he looked over at the girl he loved so much who was heading off to change into a different kimono. "She won't talk to me since last night. I tried to tell her the reason why I'm being forced to marry but all she does is walk away. I don't know what I should do!"

The girls all smiled at each other while the boys just stared with a confused look.

"I need you to save her." Sesshomaru grit his fangs.

Kagome nodded and asked him to set Rin down. Quickly she ran off to find Inuyasha to see if he knew where Myoga was.

'Was it right for me to break his heart like that?' She sighed as she splashed water on her face. 'He'll always love me and I will always love him.' She dried off her face and stared at herself in the water. "Saya!" Setsuna called out, running to her younger sister.

"What is it?" The 16 year old stood.

"Mika isn't feeling too well and mother and Sango are both busy!"

"Alright then." Saya ran back up to the hut with Setsuna following closely. When they got to the hut it was quiet but the girl walked in anyway.

'Yes! The plan is working so far! Now all we need is...!' Setsuna heard Hotaru and Kiri whispering about something stupid. When the boys were close enough, Odairi came up behind Kiri and kicked him inside.

"Kiri?" "Saya? What are you doing here?"

"Setsuna told me Mika wasn't feeling well and that our mothers were busy. You?" Saya looked away.

"I'm not really sure. All I know is that your brother and I were talking about playing a trick on my dad until I realized I was up here." Kiri said as he stared at her. When he reached out for her to say something, she moved to the other side of the room, facing the wall.

Angry that she wouldn't listen he stormed up to her and turned her around, holding her by the forearms. "Will you just please at least listen to what I have to tell you?"

"I already heard everything you had to say so please leave me alone!" She cried out for someone to help her but no one came.

Kiri stared at her and swallowed "I found out last night why I have to marry Saseko!"

Saya stopped crying a moment. "Why do you have to marry her?"

"We'll be kicked out of the village or at least that's what my father told me. But I don't care if that happens! I only want you Saya!" He held her tightly and this time she didn't pull away. Instead she buried her head in his chest.

When Inuyasha had told her no he hadn't seen Myoga, Kagome became scared. 'What will I do if I let Rin die?' "Wait. Jinenji! He might have the herbs we need."

"For what?" The half demon asked when he had jumped down from his tree.

"For Rin!" Was all Kagome said and ran back to the campsite.

"I wonder what's wrong with Rin." And Inuyasha followed her back.

"Sango!" Sango looked up at her. "Can you please go to Jinenji's and ask him for herbs that can clean the body of poison? But be quick!"

Sango nodded and left on Kirara's back.

"I have something that might work if she doesn't get back in time." Kagome thought to herself. Quickly she ran around the area, demanding that one Miroku start a fire and the other get spring water while she found as many herbs as she could.

She found red poppy, dandelions, bark off a nearby oak tree and some herbal tea roots. When she turned around both Mirokus had completed their jobs.

'So now all I need to do is...' Kagome turned to the sound of coughing and saw Rin was awake but just barely. 'I have to hurry! I'll let all this boil for a few minutes and after the petals and bark and roots have been mixed into the water, I'll give it to Rin.' She tore the petals off the flowers and quickly threw them in and finally tore apart the bark into small pieces and then threw the roots in and mixed it all together and didn't stop stirring until she could smell it.

Sesshomaru watched what Kagome was doing while also watching his mate worriedly. "I'm so sorry Rin. I should have been nearby."

"It's...okay." Rin coughed causing the demon to sit her up. She smiled at him and said "thanks." Still smiling she stared happily into his eyes "I have some great news I found out earlier from your past self."

Curious as to what the news was he stared back into her eyes. "What is it, Rin?"

Taking a deep breath she whispered "I'm pregnant!" She let the air out and slowly took small ones.

'Another child?' Sesshomaru thought shocked. 'What do I say?' But he knew exactly what to say and he said it with a small smile "I'm so happy!" And even though it wasn't a smile that seemed to tell anyone that he was happy, deep inside he wanted to cry and shout out that he was having another child.

Kagome finally was able to scoop up a cup for Rin and rushed over to her. "Okay Rin, here's some medicine. It might not taste good but I need you to drink the whole thing."

The woman nodded and let Sesshomaru give it to her. Rin felt like she was going to throw up because of how gross it was but she listened to her sister-in-law. Unfortunately, she had to drink another cup but with one more ingredient.

Kagome told her that she had to drink about 9 more cups but she had to add one more thing to the medicine. When she had asked what it was, Kagome asked Sesshomaru if he could give her some of his blood. At first, Rin was nervous about drinking his blood but then realized she had to do it if she wanted to get better. The pain in her arm had gotten worse but maybe drinking demon blood would make everything better.

Sesshomaru was a bit unsure about it but he gave Kagome as much as he wanted to. "I'm only doing this to save her and the baby. I don't want to lose her for a third time."

"Third time?" Kagome asked curiously as she stirred everything in the pot as he continued to give blood.

"Yes. The first time was when we had met. She had tried helping me by giving me human food and water." He finally thought he had given enough blood so he took his hand away. "After I had left, the village she had been staying in had been attacked by wolves. I caught the scent of her blood and found her dead. I had decided to test Tensaiga's power and she came back. The second time..." He looked back at Rin. "Was when my mother had called a hound from the Netherworld and told me to kill it. When I had, it dragged her and Kohaku back to Hell. I followed it just to save them and I couldn't save Rin because Tensaiga only saves a life once. So my mother brought her back when she saw how upset I was."

"I'm sorry." Kagome stared at him while scooping some more medicine.

Sesshomaru just took the medicine and knelt beside his mate and made her drink it and to his surprise she seemed to like it.

'This tastes so much better than the first cup.' Rin happily thought as she chugged it down then asked for the next cup.

"How does it taste?" Kagome asked.

"Way much better than the first cup!" Rin coughed a bit.

Sesshomaru stared at her as she drank another cup until he caught a scent from the sky. He looked up and saw his past self glaring down at him. "Sesshomaru?" Rin looked at him worriedly.

Sesshomaru glared back at him and drew Bakusaiga again. "Kagome. Get her out of here." He didn't even look back at the two worried women.

"Inuyasha!" Kagome called out only to realize that he was right behind her.

"You don't need to shout." Inuyasha flattened his ears. Kagome turned around quickly "Inuyasha! Can you get us out of here?"

'Did she seriously ask me that?' Inuyasha carried both girls on his back. Rin struggled to get off but she was too weak. She could barely move her legs and arms. She didn't feel hot anymore; she wasn't coughing up blood and her vision was great. She still felt a bit tired and weak but she ignored it and forced her arm up and grabbed Inuyasha's right ear. When she had a tight hold on it she pulled and the half demon yelled and fell.

The moment she realized she was on the ground again, Rin began forcing her body to move no matter the pain. 'I have to get back to him. I know he's strong but how long can he fight?'

Sesshomaru was glad that he wasn't going to lose Rin again. But the thing that scared him was the thought of losing his family. He had lost his father but he still had his mother and half brother plus he had his mate and son.

The dog demon stood there, waiting for him to attack first but it never came. Instead his opponent was completely lost in thought and not even paying attention. So he took his chance and attacked, immediately striking his shoulder. "Foolish of you to be lost in thought during a battle."

"Yes it is." Sesshomaru agreed "but it's also foolish to attack your opponent when they don't care for pain and only killing you." He smiled.

"Lord Sesshomaru!" A young happy voice called out. Both demons looked to see young Rin with Master Jaken running towards them. Rin was extremely happy to see her lord once again as was Jaken.

"Rin. I hope you have been good."

"Yes my lord! Jaken has been a little mean to Odairi's cousins though."

"Odairi?" Her lord asked as Sesshomaru began walking away to find Rin.

"He's my friend. And he's a half demon." She smiled at him.

"All half demons are the same!" Jaken shouted. "They're arrogant and stupid plus they're worthless and unwanted! No one needs them in the world."

But Rin disagreed. "That's not true! Half demons are special and they're not arrogant or stupid or worthless!" She pushed him on the ground and ran back the other way.

"Jaken," the imp demon looked up at his master. "Let's go. We will leave Rin alone for awhile."

"Where are we going master?" Jaken walked a few feet behind.

"To get some answers." And Sesshomaru continued on walking to find his future self and the woman he was with.

"I can do this." Rin leaned forward and put most of her weight on a thick branch she had found.

"Rin..." She looked up just before the branch broke and she fell down. "Sesshomaru? What happened? Are you okay?"

"You ask too many questions." He sighed "But the battle was interrupted and I'm fine."

Rin tried to hug him but again her arms wouldn't move. "I had wanted to get back to you but my stupid legs wouldn't let me!" Tears glistened in her bright eyes.

Her mate knelt in front of her and wiped the tears away making her smile. "Rin." He began as he stared at her and put his clawed left hand on the side of her tan face. "I will never let you get hurt again. I thought I was going to lose you." He held her close to him, his head down and teeth grit.

Rin looked up at him and her eyes widened. "Sesshomaru?" 'Is he crying?'

'How pathetic! Why would I cry over a human?' Sesshomaru watched as the dog demon in front of him held the woman closely. 'I would never be with a human.' He and Jaken were watching from behind a large pine tree with disgust until Jaken decided to speak and ruin everything his master was hoping to find out. "Master Sesshomaru?" He spoke quietly. "Why are we here watching them?"

Before he could do anything to his retainer, there was an immense flash of green light that nearly struck him and destroyed everything by him. "Jaken. I told you not to speak didn't I?" Jaken nodded nervously and waited to be cut down but never was.

Rin stayed in her spot on the ground, upset that their moment had been ruined, watching her mate walk toward the spot he had struck at with Bakusaiga. "Why are you still here?" He demanded angrily. Sesshomaru stepped out with Jaken behind him. "I want answers."

"Fine then." The dog demon turned to Rin. "But first, let us see who is the stronger one in their true form!" He began transforming into a large white dog; his fur looked dirty but was still soft to the touch like always.

"Inuyasha?"

"Hey what is it?" He asked annoyed.

"Have you seen Rin at all?"

"If you're talking about young Rin then no. If you're talking about your mother, still no."

Odairi was just about to turn when he heard growling coming from the woods. 'That has to be daddy.' He traveled quickly through and towards the growling. But as he got closer, he heard barking coming from beside him and he didn't like it. 'I should head back. I'm guessing I was wrong about the way to mommy and daddy...' He backed up until he heard dark voices.

"Look at who we have today, brother!"

"A little half demon boy. Won't you care to stay for lunch?"

But Odairi continued on backing up while saying no thanks.

"But you must. It would be rude not to accept."

The boy swallowed, frightened at what was for lunch. 'I bet I'm lunch and I know if mommy and daddy find out where I am, they'll be mad at me. Especially daddy.'

By the time he was done thinking, a woman's face had appeared beside him. "Tell us," She spoke, causing him to jump. "Who are your parents?" Odairi studied her face slowly. The woman's face was old looking, but that would be expected seeing as how the woman was part of a tree, and her eyes and nose drooped a little but her smile did not as she smiled at him.
"Um, my father is Lord Sesshomaru and my - ." The woman and her brother laughed hysterically at him.

"That Lord Sesshomaru would never be with a human. He despises humans and half breeds! The only thing Sesshomaru wants in his life is to create the strongest empire in the land." The brother continued laughing.
