Bella's POV
Edward woke me up in the morning. I took a few minutes to collect myself the I crawled out of the hole and stretched, Edward came out right behind me and ran into my bottom. He grunted and smiled, then grabbed and started tickling me. I giggled loudly, making everyone else jump. They had just woken up as well, still stiff with sleep.
They laughed at us, we were obviously newly mated. I shoved Edward away and kissed his cheek.
"Are you going to catch me a mountain lion today?" I asked licking my hand and wiping the dirt off of him. He smiled and kissed my forehead, thanking me for cleaning him.
We walked out of the cave, welcoming the light that warmed our skin. Suddenly a breeze caught me, I shivered my teeth chattering. Edward rubbed my arms hoping the friction will warm me.
"The winter is coming soon, you need to make warm clothing for the months coming. I'll catch you whatever you need darling. Our territory is vast with life." He said nuzzling my hair, I purred in response. I loved it when he provided for me.
"Hmm, catch two mountain lions for me, and anything else with warm hides. That would be wonderful." I told him as I kissed his collar bone. He made a low humming noise in his chest, indicating his approval of me kissing him.
"I shall return as soon as possible. Get to know my sisters and mother." He kissed my forehead, then wrapped his arm around me.
I looked around and noticed the other mated pairs nozzling and kissing each other. After the males were satisfied they grouped up and ran off into the thick woods. I felt a pair of arms around my shoulders.
"When Carlisle use to go alone, it worried me. He's a great fighter, and a wonderful provider, but I always worried about him running into trouble." I smiled as Esme opened up to me, it meant a lot to me that she felt she could trust me enough to tell me her worries.
"I can understand, I use to worry about my father when he would hunt. I only have one brother and he's so young. He only started practicing hunting with my father a few weeks ago." I told her, placing a hand on hers.
"Edward, is a very strong male. I always felt bad because, he was alone. Jasper and Rosalie came into the family when they were about thirteen or so. My memory is a little fuzzy. But immediately Emmett and Alice took them as mates. So Edward was always alone." She told me, "Carlisle taught the boys everything. They are each amazing fighters. He'll be a great protecter and provider." She kissed my temple.
"Well let's go and start getting prepared for the males to come back. I'm sure Edward is expecting you to start preparing for the winter." She said nudging me towards the cave.
"Yes he is, I should start preparing my tools." I said walking into the cave.
Alice and Rosalie were sitting by the fire, warming up their skin. Rosalie looked at me and rolled her eyes then turned back to the fire. Alice on the other hand smiled and patted the spot beside me.
Eagerly I sat beside her, I looked at her belly, which was starting to protrude from her flat stomach.
"May I feel?" I asked motioning for my hand to touch her baby bump.
She stuck her stomach out farther, "Of course! I can't wait until I'm nice and heavy with child!" She said excitedly. I placed my hand on her tummy and rubbed gently. It was hard, I remember rubbing my mom's tummy and it being hard as well.
"You'll regret saying that when you're as big as I am." Rosalie said in a bitchy voice, she flipped her hair back.
I glared at the side of her head, I couldn't understand why she was being so mean to me? Alice placed her hand over mine, which was still over her belly.
"Do you know what you're having?"
"Well my mom has yet to tell me what the signs for male and female are. I've been begging her to tell me." She said in a whiney voice. Esme raised her eyebrow at her.
"I'll tell you and Jasper late. You're much to early in your pregnancy to tell."
"What are the signs?" Rosalie asked rubbing her large belly.
"Well sometimes you can tell with the nipple color. Like the darker the color it's more likely to be a male. If you have what feels like a heavy weight pressing in on your groin that could mean it's a female. They tend to hang lower in the belly than males." She explained
"Do you know what I'm having?" Rosalie asked as she shifted her weight.
Esme stood and came close to her, examining her breasts, "Your nipples look darker, but before you were pregnant your nipples were dark. It's sometimes hard to tell. Now when Bella gets pregnant it'll be easy to tell. Her nipples are so light." Esme said smiling at me.
Rosalie scowled at me, obviously jealous of Esme's affections to me.
"Alright girls we need to start shapening our tools and helping Bella make hers. They boys will be back soon."
Edward's POV
I had caught two mountain lions for Bella easy enough. I had my pile hidden under leaves so Emmett wouldn't snag any of my kills. I was catching as many as I could so I could please Bella and she can make whatever she wanted.
Soon the animals would be running up South where it was warmer or they would be hybernating. It's not much of a challenge to kill an animal that won't fight back.
My hunting mates had caught plenty animals too. Their piles nearly as big as mine. I made sure I had gotten her deer and other small animals. I sort of knew what she was making but I wasn't too sure what she needed.
"So how's Bella?" Emmett asked as he grabbed at his penis, motioning what he was talking about without having to be so specific. I gave him a look then chuckled.
"Pretty good, well actually amazing. She's really inexperienced so I get to teach her everything." I answered him, both he and Jasper laughed.
"What do you know about sex Eddie?" Jasper said with a smirk. I glared at him.
"Ha! Yay what do you know?" Emmett repeated with a loud laugh.
"Shut up. I know more than you! Every night Bella practically begs me to mate her, and every night she's howling with pleasure." I said
"Alright boys that's enough. Now shut it I think hear something." Dad said squatting on a large boulder. Immediately we quieted.
He was the alpha, the leader he called the shots when hunting and at the cave. It was his scent that permeated the territory. When we got older and started reproducing he would allow our scents on the territory.
I sniffed the air and listened. I heard birds chirping, small critters running on the forest floor, a few twigs snapping. I did hear quiet whispering far away. I lifted onto my tip toes, trying to locate the voices.
"It's in the North territory. Far away from the den, come on we'll cut them off. No confrontation unless absolutely necessary. We need to protect the females, especially since Rose and Alice are pregnant." He commanded.
We formed a somewhat 'V' formation, dad in the front Emmett flanking his right side but somewhat behind him, showing that dad's the leader. I was back in the left and Jasper was back in the right. We ran to the North until we came across the voices.
We were hidden by the trees, peering through them at the huge coven that was standing and talking. I was confused, I didn't know who was the leader or what. There were so may males it was hard to tell.
Dad took a deep breath then walked out, trying not to be threatening. The males all stood straight, they didn't couch into defensive positions or attack mode so we somewhat relaxed but kept.
"Hello, did you realize you all were in our territory?" Dad said not threatening, he was pointing out their mistake without sounding like aggressive.
"My apologies, I did not realize this land was claimed." A male with jet black hair said, pulling back his teeth in a smile.
"It is alright, I just didn't want you to be surprised if you caught my scent everywhere. So are you just passing through the area?" He asked curiously, wanting to actually know when they were leaving.
"Passing through. Where does your coven reside?" The man asked curiously.
"A little west from here. You and your coven are welcome to stay with us for the night if you'd like?" Dad offered nicely.
"Well that sounds lovely, we would enjoy that. We've been travelling for quite some time, our females are very exhausted." He said motioning to their women.
"Please feel free to follow my scent back to the den. But please wait until the sun sets. We were in the middle of hunting." Dad said giving their leader a quick smile.
"Of course." We turned as dad started walking away. I gave them one last glance then chased after my brothers.
Bella's POV
I had almost all the tools I needed, Esme really helped me. Alice was helpful as well, but Rose kept giving me dirty looks and what not. I just ignored her, but it was getting old really fast. I would have to tell Edward.
The boys came back a while later, later than expected. I could tell it wasn't normal because Esme was on edge at a certain point. She was pacing in front of the cave. She sighed a breath of relief when they emerged from the bushes.
Edward was dragging many kills in his tie. I smiled and clapped my hand joyfully. He smiled and puffed out his chest proudly. I ran up to him and kissed him, wrapping my arms around his neck. He spun me around, kissing me back placing his hands on my bottom.
After a minute of kissing he set me down on my feet, "You caught all of this for me?" I asked him as I examined the animals.
"Why of course my love. I would catch anything and everything you want. I just wanted to make sure you had everything to make the stuff you needed for winter." He said dragging them to the cave. His mother jumped when he walked by her with all the animals.
"Edward, what are you preparing for dear?" She asked watching him drag it into the cave.
"I wasn't sure what Bella needed to make things for the winter, so I made sure I got a variety so I wouldn't have to go back out soon and I could spend more time with her." He smiled at me and kissed my forehead.
"Oh I'm glad you guys are back. I'm starved!" Alice said dragging Jasper down to a sitting position. He chuckled and offered her his wrist. Immediately she latched on and began guzzeling down the blood he offered her.
"You must be famished to. Here darling." We sat down, he was criss crossed, me leaning against his chest. His arm was wrapped around center, perfectly positioning his wrist to my mouth.
I peaked around at the other couples, they were doing the same as the two of us. Feeding from their mate, I moaned and bite deeper, the blood he offered me was so sweet. Carlisle started to speak after a minute of silence.
"So we met a coven today. A very large coven I wouldn't consider them family. They were sniffing around the Northen territory. I invited them over to rest for a while after night fall. I don;t want the women speaking unless spoken too. They've put me on edge." He said stroking Esme's hair.
A large coven? That sounded a little familar, but I couldn't remember. Edward kissed my head lovingly.
When I was full I pulled away and started examining the animals. Before I could really look Edward pulled out two mountain lions.
"The bigger one will lay beneath us and the smaller one will wrap around us. I merely snapped their necks, I didn't want to ruin them with any blood." He said to me laying them at my feet.
"I'll get right on that after I make a sac for the blood. But I'll have the fur done before we sleep" I said excited to make him proud. He nodded and handed me a beaver and otter.
They were wonderful to make sac's out of. The beavers dried stomach was large, which made it easier to carry more blood. The otters fur kept in heat, which meant the blood would stay fresh and warm. Then the beaver's tail would stitch around the outside making the sac studier and harder to spill.
After I had finished our sac I smiled and handed it to Bella, smiling widely. Proud to show him that I was very useful. He smiled and kissed my cheek proudly, then held it up to show his mother. She also smiled and kissed my cheek proudly. I heard Rose sigh in annoyance. I just ignored her.
I immediately started on our furs. I finished the larger one when the other coven made their appearance.
Carlisle quickly turned to us and said quietly, "Remember ladies do not speak unless spoken too. I'll introduce you all but otherwise do not speak." We all nodded and fell back behind them.
All of a sudden I became nervous, Edward pulled me into his side and smiled then pushed me slightly behind him. Carlisle led us out of the cave to the coven.
I peaked from behind Edward's side, I could see a large group of people. Their leader standing in front of them. I remembered him, but I just couldn't place his face. I scanned the people and jumped, when I saw a face I remembered all too well.
When I jumped I let out an involuntary yelped when I saw Felix's face. He turned his head sharply towards me, his eyes hard then turning into complete surprise, then lust. Edward pushed me more behind him then growled at Felix. He didn't take that all to well and growled back, puffing up his chest.
Carlisle hadn't notice the battle that was brewing before him. He and their leader were to consumed with their conversation.
But they all turned when Felix ran at Edward.
