She scares me. Absolutely terrifies me. I felt her love and I made sure she felt mine. I can hear her blood beating just a bit faster just a bit harder as I come into her line of vision. She was my queen. She is my queen. She can fight with words, I had seen that myself with Athenadora and know she is ready to give up her dreams for me.
"I can be the centre of your life with you being a trusted physican," I told her kissing her soft hands.
"Are vampires really immortal Caius?" her voice echoing around the room.
I nodded and pulled her against me. I wanted her against me. Constantly. Forever. I want her unique scent engulfing, her scent which was beautifully sweet and fruity with hints of spices which was just uniquely hers. I want her warmth covering my cold body making me feel alive. I want her soft curves flushed against my hard body and I want to run my hands across every part of her.
"Can you imagine a vampire being a surgeon?" She pulled herself up on her elbows lifting her body so it rested against him. She had a beautiful smile on her with her eyes glinting at her own joke. A moment flashed in her eyes and back to her previous emotion.
"What was that mia cara?" I asked my hand slowly creeping on her lower back underneath her flimsy shirt.
"Will you ever turn me into a vampire Caius?" Her sweet breath covered my face as she started laying small kisses.
I felt his arms tense around me holding me tight. I kissed his brow, his temple, his lips. I was in love with this man and our future is so hazy.
"You are my mate," he said simply kissing my cheek. It seemed like a weight has been lifted off his shoulder. His arms loosened and his hands started rubbing my lower back warming it with the friction between my warm skin and his freezing cold hands.
"Mate?" I questioned. He laid my head on his chest whilst I listen to his breathing and his non existent heartbeat.
"We are animals mia cara. Strip all humans their intelligence, emotions and essentially we are animals. Vampires have mates. Soulmates. Partners. True love. However you see it. No one really knows what it really is or how it works. Physically mates crave each other constantly, separate mates and they would feel empty even pain if it is for a long time. It is a first I have to say that a vampire has met his mate as a human…" He finished.
I raised my head to meet his gaze. I could see the love in his eyes. I have always wanted for a man to look at me the way he does with me.
"You never answered my question," She raised her eyebrows as she asked.
She was smart. She could immediately sense the way I was avoiding the question. She kept her emotions in check. She does not get distracted easily and she is beautiful with her words. A queen indeed.
"I will turn you into a vampire mia cara. Not soon but I will. You would change. Your beautiful caramel skin will turn porcelain. Your body will tone itself to a body which you would feel like it wasn't yours. Your curves will be more prominent. Your hair shinier, you lips, and your eyes dark beautiful red like wine. You will look like a goddess and you will be my queen. But mia cara you need to grow first. You are still incredibly young." I said passionately to her.
She was young. She had traits which belonged to a child. She was carefree. She giggled and laughed constantly. She dances with her every step. She makes me feel happy just watching her. I am scared that I will scare her away.
"Can we go explore Caius? Please? I am sick of being stuck in this room." She pushed herself off me on to her feet. She swayed on the balls of her feet adjusting her hair tying it up onto a mess at the top of her head. She wiped her glasses at the bottom of her shirt then looked at me expectantly. I shook my head and nodded.
Caius lead me around the castle. There were exquisite paintings hanging around everywhere. It screamed decadence.
"This is the library." Caius opened the grand double doors in front of me. The sun shone on him making his skin glitter like diamonds. He felt prideful of his library and so he should. It was comfortable in the middle with beautiful seats around. Shelves covered the walls and a few ladders leading up to a balcony which was filled with even more books.
"Impressed?" he came up hugging my torso from behind again. I nodded speechless.
"Go and explore" I whispered.
I watch her walk around my personal library fascinated at how she looked at the books. Her eyes darted at every dierection every second. Her fingers trailed at the spines of the books feeling the cracks in the spines from their old age. She took a book out carefully balancing it on her arms. She inhaled the scent of old lignin of the paper.
She disappeared into the depths of the library as I sat on my desk finishing the work I have left. Her leaving me to my own mind was a mistake. What has Athenadora done? I knew Athenadora. Her pride cam before anything else and asking for sanctuary in Volterra? Her pride would not let her d that as such.
I could hear her footsteps accompanied with her scent and the scent of her companions entering the library.
She brought the boy with her and her mate.
"Please take a seat." I said politely. Athenadora sat with her mate on he lounger whilst the boy sat in the seat near the window.
"You're a stereotype of an old man," the boy exclaimed looking around the library. He was an incompetent boy. He clearly was mocking me but he certainy was not worth my time. I merely raised an eyebrow.
"Where is your mate Caius?" I sneered knowing full well that she knows where my mate is. Her scent was lingering throughout the room with her heartbeat beating oudly at the background.
I sense her heartbeat coming closer and closer to where we were.
"Caius, would you mind if I borrow some of your books. A few at a time. I promise I'll return them to where I found them," She came strolling in with a pile books in her arms clearly struggling with the weight but still reading on the books.
The boy stood and smiled placing his hands in his pockets, "You haven't change at all have you Katz?"
