Chapter Eleven
Somewhere in the forest, a carriage was traveling at a fast pace.
"Hurry Miroku, we need to get home before Naraku does," Sango shouted to Miroku, who proceed to yanks on the rein, making the horse run faster.
"Don't worry, we will make in time," he assured Sango and her sisters. He notices Rin and Kagome was quiet, staring down at their hands with unhappy look on their faces as if they didn't have fun at the masquerade ball.
"You know... since we have been traveling, we haven't run into bandit," Miroku said, trying to lighten the mood.
"Miroku," Sango glared at him.
"What?" He slightly glance back for a few second, catching the glare Sango was giving him. Then he turned back and focuses his attention on the road. "I'm just saying that we are lucky that we haven't run into the bandit, that's all".
"You better hope that we don't because..."
"Miroku watch out!" Rin shouted, interrupting Sango, pointing her finger toward the middle of the road.
"Whoa!" Miroku eyes widen as he saw what was standing in the middle of the road and immediately yank the rein back, stopping the horse, causing Rin, Kagome, and Sango to fell forward, and bringing the carriage to a halt.
Standing in the middle of the road was two men, with pale skin dressed in a black kimono.
"Gentleman, how can I help you?" Miroku remain calm with his hand resting on the handle of his sword while gesturing the girls to stay back in the carriage.
"Hand over the women and we will spare your life young man," one of men replied with a cold stares.
"Sorry no can do," He tightens his grips of the handle of his sword. "You see these women are my wives," Sango, Kagome, and Rin eyes widen when they heard what Miroku said." Apparently, it's getting late and we need to head home to meet my mother. So my apologies that I can do what you asked so why don't you two move out of our way"
"Then you shall die," the second man retorts and angrily, lunges forward and showing his fangs.
"Demons," he mutters and slightly glances back at the girls. "Sango, once I get off, you grabs a hold of the rein and get out of here," He said to where Sango and the girls can hear him.
"No," She shook her head. "I will not leave you behind".
"I'll be fine, now go!" Miroku jumps off of the carriage. Then he lunges at the demon, who charging toward him.
Sango went up front and grabs the hold of the rein. She really didn't want to leave Miroku behind.
"Sango Go!" she heard Miroku shouted.
Closing her eyes, with tears falling, she yanks the rein hard, making horse lunges forward, lifting their legs up, kicking the demons that was about to leaps up and attack Sango. Then it took off running.
Miroku slashes one of the demons in the chest and looked up in time to see the carriage disappears into the night. He notices the other demon was chasing after the carriage. Swiftly he tosses the sword, catching it by the handle and hurl right into the back of the other demon chest.
The other demon turns and glares at him.
"Whoops," Miroku mouthed and shrugs when he got slashes in the arm by the demon that he slashes. He grabs his arm and begins the back away as the two demons approach him.
Afraid that he might not survive, he held his hands up.
"Come on boys, can't we talk about this," he tries talking to them.
Still the two demons walked toward, not backing down.
"Look, how about we call it a night and walk out separate way and no one would get killed, how does that sound?"
"We enjoy ripping you to shred and eating you," one of the demons growled.
Miroku sighs. "I have to disappoint you, but that isn't going happen"
The two demon stares at him confused, but then they smirk. "Please like you can stop us, stop bluffing".
"Oh, it's not me stopping you," he grins, "him"
The two demons turned around and Miroku quickly move out of the way.
"Wind Scar," A Golden light flashed was coming right at them fast. Before they can escape, it rips them into pieces leaving no trace of them.
Standing from a far was Inuyasha, who was holding his Tessaiga. Seeing the demons were defeated he placed the Tessaiga back in it sheath. Then Miroku approaches out from behind the tree, clutching his arm. He let out a deep breath.
"That was a close call".
"Indeed, lucky you notice I was standing from a far and quickly move out the way before my wind scar hit you".
"How do you know I was in trouble?"
Inuyasha scoffs and tap his nose. "You are forgetting that I can smell your blood scent from a far".
Miroku laughs. "Yeah, I almost forgot," he folds his arms. "But that wasn't the reason you came out here, was it?"
"Of course it was," Inuyasha folds his arms and notices Miroku was smirking at him. "What?"
"Really Inuyasha, you can't fool me, you are searching for the woman you dance with, am I right?"
Inuyasha glares at him and Miroku took it that he was right. "So were you," he answered, trying to avoid answering.
"I'm not searching because I already know who she was and what her face look like".
"No way, you're lying," Inuyasha shook his head, not believing what he heard. How can Miroku know who his woman was? Inuyasha was jealous that Miroku
"It's true, I know who my woman is and I'm going to married her," Miroku declared. "Bright and early in the morning, I will go back to my parents and tell them who I'm going to marry whether they accept or not".
"Good for you," Inuyasha replied, slightly bit upset. "But before you go back, I suggest you get yourself patch up," he said referring to wound on Miroku's arm.
"Oh yeah," Miroku stares at his arm. "I better get this bandage up before it get worse," he said before he walked away with Inuyasha.
"Don't worry, you will eventually find your woman," he assures his friend.
"I hope so," Inuyasha nodded and stares up. "Where ever you are, I will find you". He thought with determination in his eyes.
SSSSSSSS
Kagome was hugging Rin, who was scared and shivering.
"Are you sure we are safe?" Rin softly asked.
"We are safe," Kagome rubs Rin's arm, assuring her. She notices Sango didn't say anything nor looked at her and Rin. Every since they escapes, leaving Miroku behind, Sango never open her mouth to say anything. She knew Sango was worried for Miroku and was trying to be brave for Rin.
"Sango..." She begins to said, only to be interrupt by the carriage coming to a halt. They have made it back to their home.
Kagome and Rin got off the carriage with Sango help and immediately went inside, hoping Naraku wasn't home.
When reach to the door, Kagome grabs Sango's arm. "Sango wait!"
"What?" Sango answered, avoid looking at Kagome.
"Miroku will be okay".
"How can you be sure?"
"Because he's fighter and would never give up." Kagome points out. "Beside, he did promise that he will find you and marry you".
Sango looked at Kagome and smile. "You're right". She hugged her. "Let's go inside and let Koga and Ayame know that we are back".
Kagome and Rin nodded and follow Sango inside.
