The Blood Of Olympus

Rating: K+

Summary: (don't read if you haven't read HOH yet)

After rescuing Percy and Annabeth from Tartarus, the seven demigods must set out to finish their quest; their only chance to beat Gaea. The doors are closed, so at least that's one less thing to worry about. But ahead of them comes a bunch of new challenges.

Percy Jackson Quote: ""If we can't repair things with the Romans—well, the two sets of demigods have never gotten along. That's why the gods kept us separate. I don't know if we could ever belong there."
Percy didn't want to argue, but he couldn't let go of the hope. It felt important—not just for him, but for all the other demigods. It had to be possible to belong in two different worlds at once. After all, that's what being a demigod was all about—not quite belonging in the mortal world or on Mount Olympus, but trying to make peace with both sides of their nature."

Hazel X

Hazel's eyes flew open when she heard the crashes.

She leapt out of bed, sword in hand. She slowly opened the door, peering out.

Malcolm, leading a group of monsters, made their way down to the crew's bunks.

Hazel saw his eyes flash black before returning to their usual grey.

Just as Hazel was about to confront him, Jason charged out of his cabin, sword in hand.

The son of Athena didn't bother with Jason except to disarm him, throwing his sword out of a porthole.

He continued on, towards the last two cabins: Percy and Annabeth's.

Frank jumped out. "What do you want, Malcolm?"

"Sacrifices to wake the goddess. The two most powerful demigods: Percy Jackson and Annabeth Chase," he replied in a voice that didn't quite sound like him, then went on, slamming Frank into a wall.

Hazel let out a muffled scream. She had to do something.

Gesturing to Piper who'd came out of her cabin. Hazel ran towards her two friends' cabins as Piper distracted Malcolm with her charmspeak.

The daughter of Pluto used her control over the Mist to make herself like Annabeth and vice versa.

She heard scuffling in Percy's cabin.

She gently shoved the daughter of Athena off the bed, hiding her mostly under the bed, the grey eyed girl barely stirring.

She quickly got into Annabeth's bed, and made it look like she was asleep.

The door opened, then she felt hands grabbing her, lifting her out of bed.

Hazel was dragged out of her friend's cabin, just like Percy currently was.

Snapping to attention, Percy began to fight. "Don't touch her. Take me, but leave her."

He managed to get one arm free, grabbing Riptide and slashing through his captors in less that five seconds.

His eyes turned dark, reflecting an angry sea, anger taking over. "Can I have a break for once? Just one day? Is that too much to ask for?"

More monsters grabbed him, but they were too strong for Percy to escape again.

Their friends, unable to do anything, watched Malcolm and the monsters disappear, taking Percy and Hazel-as-Annabeth with them.

They were thrown into a holding cell in who knows where.

Percy hit his head when he was thrown in, muttering a few choice swear words under his breath.

"Percy?" Hazel asked quietly, afraid of the change in her friend.

"Sorry Annabeth," he sighed. "After Tartarus... It changed me. You saw how I was with Akhlys. I'm sorry for scaring you down there. But Tartarus brings out the worse in people. I always liked to think of myself as the calm side of the ocean, like the rough side was never there. But it is. I hate it; hate going out of control sometimes. But I can't stop it."

"Percy?"

"Yeah?

"Um... I'm not really Annabeth..." Hazel responded nervously, letting the mist drop.

"Hazel? What...?"

"I tried to save you guys. Maybe I wasn't able to save you, but Annabeth's safe."

Percy took a deep breath. "Thanks you for saving Annabeth. But you didn't have to sacrifice yourself."

"No Percy, I really did."

They stayed in silence, wondering what their friends were doing.

The door to their cell opened, then shut after another demigod was thrown into the small room.

"Katie?" Percy asked incredulously.

"Percy? What are you doing here? Where have you been?"

"Hera. I was brought to Camp Jupiter: a Roman demigod camp in California. I took Jason's spot and he, mine." He showed her in a tattoo, then continued. "I, along with Hazel here, were captured aboard the Argo II by Malcolm-"

"So that's where he went. But why-"

"I don't know."

"I saw his eyes flash black. I think he's possessed," Hazel piped up.

"That must be it," Percy muttered. "Anyways, the came came to capture Annabeth and I. But Hazel with her control over the Mist tricked them into thinking she was Annabeth and that Annabeth was her. So now we're here. They want the blood of the two most powerful demigods -one male, one female- in order to wake Gaea."

"Oh," was all Katie was able to say.

After a few moments of silence, Percy asked "Why are you here? Malcolm said you randomly disappeared."

"I have no idea. I was patrolling, then everything went dark. Now, I'm here."

"How's camp?"

"Not the same without you Perce. But fine."

"How well do you two know each other?" Hazel asked.

"Well..." Katie hesitated, looking at Percy. "We know each other from camp..."

"It's fine. I trust Hazel," Percy responded. Turning towards Hazel, he continued. "Yes, we know each other from camp. But we knew each other from before camp. But no one else besides us knew, until now. We became best friends when we were 7; five years before I got to camp, knew who I really was. Katie had gone to Camp Half-Blood for two summers before I did. There were three of us: Katie, Will and me. We had a lot of adventures before any of us knew we were demigods. We had great times. But once we were all at camp, we decided not to tell anyone. It was our secret. I miss the old days, when we thought we were just normal kids.

You Hazel, are the first to know this secret besides the three of us."

Hazel sat there, processing the information Percy just told her. "I'm glad you can trust me, Percy."

He smiled.

They were in that room for what Hazel could guess was nine hours or so.

Throughout that time, Hazel learned a lot about Percy's past, stuff that even Annabeth didn't know.

She was honored, but at the same time, she was worried. Percy told Annabeth everything. But when he started keeping secrets...

She knew there must be a reason behind Percy not telling Annabeth, but if he was willing to tell her and not Annabeth...

"Does Annabeth know any of this?" Hazel questioned.

Percy paused, mouth open from talking to Katie and Hazel. "Um... no... not really?"

Hazel smiled slightly at his reaction, shaking her head. "Why don't you want to tell her?"

Percy looked away, turning red. "It's connected to my past. Only Katie and Will knew about when I was alone with my first step dad, mom away at work. Things could get bad. They were the only ones who knew.

Once I got to Camp Half-Blood, I figured it was it the past, so I made Katie and Will promise not to tell anyone.

Then, Gabe "disappeared" and it was just me and my mom. I never wanted to relive those memories, so I didn't tell anyone. That's partly why I can't stand to see people and especially my friends, hurting, especially if it's my fault. I don't want to be responsible for hurting someone. I don't want someone to hurt like I did," Percy began to tear up, pain filling his eyes.

Katie reached over, hugging him, as he continued.

"Will, Katie and I would meet after the camp fire every night my first summer at camp to make sure I was okay. Things got better, until I became every. Single. Gods. Pawn. But... I snapped in Tartarus, like I wanted someone, something to feel all the pain I've felt.

Taking a breath, he finished. "I trust you Hazel. More than almost anyone. You're like my little sister. You know my past now. But please. Don't tell anyone until I'm ready."

Hazel nodded, placing a hand on the son of Poseidon's shoulder.

Percy leaned into Katie's hug, looking relaxed despite being in a cell.

"I'm glad you two are here." Turning towards Hazel, he added "It helped telling you Hazel."

They sat there together, in silence.

Hazel never dreamed that Percy's past would be like that. He was always upbeat and happy.

But not, Hazel knew, everyone is as they seem.

Hazel looked over at the two friends, smiling.

She was glad Percy knew he could trust her. Not many people did.

And she knew Katie would prove to be a valuable friend.

A/N: Hope you liked the chapter :) I've had it written for a while, but had to wait for this part.

QOTD: What do you think about Percy's past? And what do you think about him knowing Katie and Will?
