Chapter 10:

[8:45 PM – Wednesday night, Townsville Park]

No One's POV

The girls sauntered onstage, and the crowd applauded. Each girl took a mic and got into position, Blossom in the middle, Bubbles on the right, and Buttercup on the left. Turning, they faced Mitch, their backs to the crowd. He winked at them and put on the music, turning it up as loud as it could go.

Wanna Say by Kat Graham

All: Tonight I'm gonna
Throw my past away
Tonight I'm gonna
Live like my last day
It makes wanna say

The crowd was astonished at the girls' voices…and they had only sung the first verse! As they sang, each girl slowly turned around and faced the crowd. But, Buttercup and Blossom kept their eyes closed, and they started snapping. Bubbles stepped forward.

Bubbles: When you're around
I can tell

Blossom/Buttercup: I'm about to lose myself
I'm about to lose myself

Bubbles: Caught up in
The moment again

Blossom/Buttercup: Boy you take my breath away
Boy you take my breath away

Now, Blossom and Buttercup opened their eyes, but they still remained in their spots. Bubbles stepped back so she was in line with them. The boys idly wondered why they weren't dancing, they obviously knew how, so why were they just standing there? From his position behind the DJ booth, Mitch smirked; he knew exactly what the girls were planning.

All: I don't care

Blossom: If people wanna

All: Stop and stare

Buttercup: We'll just pretend that

All: No one's there

Bubbles: They'll fade away
Boy you make me wanna say
Wanna say

All: Tonight I'm gonna
Throw my past away
Tonight I'm gonna
Live like my last day
It makes wanna say

The girls lowered their faces so they were looking at the ground, and for a moment, everything was silent. Then, the beat started up again, and to everyone's surprise and delight, the girls began to dance.

All: Yay-yay-yeah
Yay-yay-yeah

Blossom: It makes me wanna say

All: Yay-yay-yeah
Yay-yay-yeah

Bubbles: It makes me wanna say

All: Yay-yay-yeah

Buttercup: It makes me wanna say

All: Yay-yay-yeah
It makes me wanna say

Blossom: From here on out
We'll live out loud

Bubbles/Buttercup: You and me against the world
You and me against the world

Blossom: Don't matter how
Things turn out

Bubbles/Buttercup: Baby we're together now
Baby we're together now

All: I don't care

Blossom: If people wanna

All: Stop and stare

Buttercup: We'll just pretend that

All: No one's there

Bubbles: They'll fade away
Boy you make me wanna say
Wanna say

The boys were all wearing wide grins as they watched the girls dance and sing. The crowd was loving every second of it; they were wary of the girls at first, but now they were all sure that The PowerPuff Girls was their new favorite band.

All: Tonight I'm gonna
Throw my past away
Tonight I'm gonna
Live like my last day
It makes wanna say

The girls froze for a moment, each in different positions. Bubbles was standing up, one hip cocked to the side and her hands in the air. Blossom was bent over at the waist, feet together and arms out to the sides, hair splayed over her shoulders and around her face. Buttercup was in a squatting position, hands on her hips. Then, the music started once more and the three returned to the dance routine.

All: Yay-yay-yeah
Yay-yay-yeah

Blossom: It makes me wanna say

All: Yay-yay-yeah

Bubbles: It makes me wanna say

All: Yay-yay-yeah

Buttercup: It makes me wanna say

All: Yay-yay-yeah
It makes me wanna say

Yay-yay-yeah
Yay-yay-yeah

Blossom: It makes me wanna say

All: Yay-yay-yeah

Bubbles: It makes me wanna say

All: Yay-yay-yeah

Buttercup: It makes me wanna say

All: Yay-yay-yeah
It makes me wanna say

Tonight I'm gonna
Throw my past away
Tonight I'm gonna
Live like my last day
It makes wanna say

The PowerPuff Girls struck a pose as the music stopped, and the crowd of teenagers roared and clapped their approval. Some even started to chant 'Encore!'

Blossom looked at Mitch, who beamed at her, then at her bandmates-slash-sisters.

"What do you think? Should we do another one?" She asked them. Bubbles nodded while Buttercup chuckled.

"Hell yeah!" The ravenette exclaimed. "That was kickass!" Blossom and Bubbles laughed. After a short discussion, they all agreed to sing one more song.

"Okay, Mitch, we're ready!" Bubbles called, making the crowd cheer louder. Mitch smirked and put on the next track, one the trio was very familiar with and sang all the time.

Wings by Little Mix

All: Mama told me not to waste my life
She said spread your wings my little butterfly
Don't let what they say keep you up at night
And if they give you sh
Then they can walk on by

Blossom: My feet, feet can't touch the ground
And I can't hear a sound
But you just keep on running up your mouth
Yeah

Buttercup: Walk, walk on over there
'Cause I'm too fly to care
Oh yeah

All: Your words don't mean a thing
I'm not listening
Keep talking, all I know is

Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup jumped around the stage, dancing and making the crowd scream their names and clap as loud as possible.

All: Mama told me not to waste my life,
She said spread your wings my little butterfly
Don't let what they say keep you up at night
And they can't detain you
'Cause wings are made to fly
And we don't let nobody bring us down
No matter what you say – it won't hurt me
Don't matter if I fall from the sky
These wings are made to fly

Blossom: Hey, hey, woo

I'm firing up on that runway
I know we're gonna get there someday
But we don't need no "Ready. Steady. Go!"
No

Buttercup: Talk, talk turns into air
And I don't even care
Oh yeah

All: Your words don't mean a thing
I'm not listening
Keep talking, all I know is

Mama told me not to waste my life,
She said spread your wings my little butterfly
Don't let what they say keep you up at night,
And they can't detain you
'Cause wings are made to fly
And we don't let nobody bring us down
No matter what you say – it won't hurt me
Don't matter if I fall from the sky
These wings are made to fly

The trio all came close together while singing the chorus, and then they pulled back. Bubbles went to one side of the stage, while Blossom and Buttercup went to the other side. Bubbles started singing, and when she was done she pointed a finger to Blossom and Buttercup, their cue to sing their own line. The three did this back and forth, and the boys were impressed with their talent onstage, as where Tony, Michael, and Robert.

Bubbles: I don't need no one saying

Blossom/Buttercup: Hey hey hey hey

Bubbles: I don't hear no one saying

Blossom/Buttercup: Hey hey hey hey

Bubbles: You better keep on walking
I don't wanna hear your talking

Blossom/Buttercup: Boy'd

Bubbles: You better keep on walking
I don't wanna hear your talking

Blossom/Buttercup: Boy'd

Blossom: Your words don't mean a thing
I'm not listening
They're just like water off my wings

Now the girls came back together at the center of the stage, standing next to each other as they sang the last part of the song.

All: Mama told me not to waste my life
She said spread your wings my little butterfly (my little butterfly)
Don't let what they say keep you up at night
And they can't detain you
'Cause wings are made to fly
And we don't let nobody bring us down
No matter what you say – it won't hurt me
Don't matter if I fall from the sky
These wings are made to fly

Mitch silenced the music abruptly, leaving the girls to sing with only the drums. Even without the music, they sounded perfect, further impressing their audience.

And we don't let nobody bring us down
No matter what you say – it won't hurt me
Don't matter if I fall from the sky
These wings are made to fly

The crowd went crazy once more, cheering and screaming for The PowerPuff Girls. What no one saw, however, was the dark red Corvette pull to a stop at the edge of the park. Two figures stepped out of the car, both in outfits way too tight and with too much makeup on. One had frizzy red hair and the other was a bit older, and she had long black hair with too much hair gel in it.

"WHAT IS THIS?!" The younger one screeched. A nearby teen stopped to inform them.

"You haven't heard? There's a new band in town, The PowerPuff Girls! They're performing now, and wow, they're good!" He smiled. The girl's eyes narrowed.

"How good?" She questioned slowly.

"Like, RowdyRuff Boys good." Another teen, this time a brunette girl, said. "I wonder if they're going on tour anytime soon, I would SO buy tickets to see them again!" The older woman accompanying the redheaded teen frowned. She had a bad feeling about this.

"Who exactly is in this…band?" She asked the brunette girl. She shrugged.

"I don't know their names, but one is blonde, one has black hair, and the other one is a redhead!" She waved and walked off. The woman's frown deepened and her eyes grew cold.

"I don't like this, Princess." Sedusa said. "First, you're modeling job is cancelled without us knowing, and now there's a new band in town? Something's going on." Princess nodded, but her eyes were busy scanning the crowd.

"Do you think the RowdyRuff Boys are here?" She wondered aloud. "I didn't see Brick at the mall the other day, Blossom must have lied, the little slut." Sedusa grabbed Princess' arm and began dragging her around the crowd, towards the backstage area.

"Alright, ladies and gentlemen, sorry to burst this awesome energy and stuff, but we're gonna take a short break from the performing so our singers can catch their breath! Wouldn't want anyone to get hurt, you guys are wild!" Mitch winked playfully at the crowd as the girls walked off, and the teens laughed. "But don't worry, I've got some mixes here for you, so we can keep up the PARTY!" The teens screamed their approval. "HELL YEAH!" Mitch said loudly before blasting music. The bodies in the audience began to dance, and people mingled and talked.

Meanwhile, backstage, the two bands were relaxing during their break. Bubbles and Boomer were in the trailer, chatting, as Boomer watched Bubbles fix her makeup and hair. Buttercup and Butch were leaning against a spare speaker Mitch had brought, eating some snacks and laughing. Brick was seated in one of the collapsible chairs Bianca had brought, and Blossom was in his lap. His arms were around her waist and she laid her head on his shoulder.

Tony, Michael, and Robert were off to the side with Bianca, engaged in a deep discussion.

The peaceful atmosphere was quickly broken.

Sedusa and Princess walked right backstage, and Princess squealed in excitement as she saw Brick. Her smile quickly dropped off her face when she saw who was sitting in his lap.

"BLOSSOM?!" She screamed. Sedusa's eyes were immediately on her stepdaughter. Buttercup jumped to her feet, pulling Butch up as well. They ran over to the redheaded couple, standing next to Brick, who was up as well. Blossom clutched his hand, eyes wide and face pale. Bubbles and Boomer appeared in the doorway of the trailer. They took one look at the situation in front of them and jumped out of the trailer, coming up on Blossom's other side.

"What are you doing back here? This area is for the RowdyRuff Boys and the PowerPuff Girls only." Michael said, walking over. Tony and Robert followed him. Bianca caught Blossom's eye. The girl mouthed 'call 911' and Bianca obliged, watching Sedusa and Princess closely.

"Blossom." Sedusa said icily. "What are you doing here? With them?" She questioned. Blossom's confidence was restored because her friends were with her, and she had discovered something that gave her an edge. She glared right back at Sedusa, shocking the black-haired woman. Princess wasn't paying attention anymore; she was too busy staring at Brick.

"I don't have to answer to you. You are no longer welcome in my house anymore." She declared. This snapped Princess out of her daze.

"What?" She laughed snobbily. "You can't do that! You have no say; you have to listen to us, whore!" Sedusa stared at Blossom, her mouth agape.

"H-how did you…" She trailed off. Princess abruptly stopped laughing and looked at her mother, bewildered.

"Mom? What are you talking about?" She asked. Blossom smirked at Sedusa, and the woman's stomach dropped.

"Yes, Sedusa, that's right." She said. "I found my father's will, and I know that you have no authority in my life whatsoever. Bianca's called the cops, so I suggest you fess up." She crossed her arms, gazing at her stepfamily levelly. Sedusa actually took a step back. Princess went to her mother nervously.

"Um, what's she talking about?" She asked lowly.

"I'm talking about the fact that Sedusa has been lying to me for three whole years. You don't own anything; in fact Sedusa shouldn't even be my stepmother. She forced my father to marry her, and she hid his will from me so I would never know that I own everything and have the power to kick you out of my house. I even have the will, so there's no escape." Blossom explained, smiling sweetly at the two. Sedusa looked like she was about to be sick, and Princess' face was drained of color, making her awful makeup even more prominent. Brick and his brothers grinned at Blossom, and Bubbles and Buttercup were laughing and hugging Blossom. The pink-eyed girl smiled at her two best friends. She turned to Bianca.

"Did you get all that?" She asked her. The blonde woman nodded happily, holding up her phone.

"Speaker mode works wonders." She quipped. Blossom laughed. "The police are on their way, belle. Apparently they had detectives looking into your father's death and his lack of a will. They were going to question Sedusa about it next week, but there isn't any need now. As long as they can see the will and get a statement from you and two witnesses, Sedusa will be sent to jail for about 20 years, and Princess will be sent to a boarding school for troubled teens where she can be monitored. The nice police chief explained the whole process to me." She smiled at Blossom, who ran over to hug her.

"You can't do this!" Sedusa suddenly shouted, her anger coming back ten-fold. She stalked forward and raised a hand to slap Blossom.

"You belong to me!" She brought her hand down, but right before she made contact with Blossom's cheek, her hand was stopped. Blossom's own hand was gripping Sedusa's at the wrist, further preventing her stepmother from striking her. Blossom leaned forward so she was practically nose-to-nose with Sedusa. Her pink eyes were narrowed, and Sedusa had to stop herself from shivering at the intensity of the redhead's icy calmness.

"Don't. Touch. Me." Blossom hissed dangerously. Sedusa swallowed thickly. "You have no control over me. I do what I want, when I want. And right now, I want you out of my life." She released Sedusa's hand roughly, shoving the woman away from her. Sedusa stumbled in her heels, but was caught by a police officer. He clicked handcuffs over her wrists and held her securely as two more officers appeared. Princess was handcuffed and the last officer walked over to Blossom.

"Hello, Miss Utonium. I'm Chief Jackson." The man said, shaking her hand. "I assume you want to get this over with as soon as possible?" He asked, motioning towards a miserable-looking Sedusa and Princess. Blossom smiled, but shook her head.

"I'm actually performing right now; I'm in a band. Is it possible for me to give you a copy of my father's will, and then just be done with the whole thing? I want this done quickly and quietly." Chief Jackson thought about it and nodded.

"That can be arranged. If you give me a quick statement now, and the copy of the will, we'll have enough proof to lock up these two." He gestured to Blossom's ex-stepfamily. She nodded in agreement and pulled the copy of the will from her bag.

"Here you go." She said. After giving the officer a statement on how horribly they treated her (and witness statements from Brick, Butch, Boomer, Bubbles, Buttercup, and Bianca), the officers left with Sedusa and Princess.

"What just happened?" Tony asked, blinking at the six teens. Brick smiled and wrapped an arm around Blossom's shoulders.

"Blossom here is a free woman." He joked, pressing his face into her hair. She giggled. Bianca laughed and promised she would explain later. Reluctantly, the record producers nodded and got into a huddle, talking urgently. After a few minutes of laughing and celebrating, the two bands were calm again, although Blossom was still a bit giddy. Tony had disappeared a little while ago, and Bianca, Robert, and Michael all had large smiles on their faces.

"OKAY! I love all this energy!" Mitch said into his mic. "And I'm about to give you guys something ELSE to scream about!" The crowd cheered in response. "If you would please give a big welcome for Sonic Boom Records manager, Tony Humphreys!" Loud clapping and cheers answered him. Tony's voice came through the mic.

"Hey everyone! I'm Tony Humphreys, and I'm also the one who discovered the RowdyRuff Boys and gave them a record label!" Screams were heard at this. "But now, I've found ANOTHER band that I think needs a label!"

Backstage, Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup looked at each other with wide eyes.

"THE POWERPUFF GIRLS!" Tony yelled into the mic. The crowd went wild, cheering and applauding and chanting the band name. Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup walked onstage again, waving and smiling. Tony beamed at us and shook each of their hands.

"You three have real talent. You might just be better than the RowdyRuff Boys!" He said, winking.

"We heard that!" Butch yelled, walking onstage with his brothers and making the audience go crazy. Boomer walked up to Bubbles and gave her a long kiss, earning catcalls and whistles from the crowd. Butch came up behind Buttercup and wrapped his arms around her waist, resting his chin on her head. Brick went up to Blossom and slipped his arms around her, kissing her softly.

"So," Tony started. "Would you like a record deal?" The girls looked at each other and shared a smile.

"YES!" They said simultaneously. The crowd screamed and each girl spun around to kiss her Ruff. Tony laughed.

"Well you girls better buckle up, cuz you're going ON TOUR!" Blossom, Bubbles, and Buttercup crushed each other in a huge hug, jumping, laughing, and crying all at the same time.

Bianca, Robert, and Michael joined them onstage, Robert and Michael standing with Tony. Bianca went to embrace her daughter, and Buttercup and Blossom. She stepped back and let the boys hug their girlfriends again. Brick swung Blossom around, and she clutched his shoulders, laughing. When he set her down, she joined hands with Bubbles and Buttercup.

The three girls faced the crowd and bowed, and the audience roared.

Blossom's POV

Bubbles, Buttercup and I faced the crowd and bowed, and the audience roared.

And in that moment, I knew everything would be alright. Sedusa and Princess were officially gone from my life, and I was surrounded by my crazy yet truly wonderful friends. I knew right then, that I was where I belonged, and that my parents, wherever they were, were smiling and happy.

Once the cheering had quieted a bit (but only a bit), and the girls and I hugged again, Tony stepped forward to present us to the youth of Townsville.

And that's when my story really started.

FIN.
