I want to let you all know that I sincerely appreciate each and every one of you, Even if you haven't reviewed and liked my story. Thank you guys so much!
ALSO THIS CHAPTER WILL BE RATED 'M' TO BE SAFE. THERE IS A 'FINAL FIGHT', THAT DOES CONTAIN BLOOD. THERE WILL ALSO BE A TINY BIT OF ADULT LANGUAGE. THIS IS YOUR WARNING.
The loud booming voice of the King of the Dark lands echoed through everyone on the ships ears, for it was all of their worst nightmares.
'Not when I'm so close to being home...' Mario told himself, as he looked to his wife and daughter who stood hand and hand, staring up to the Koopa in fear. Even Junior looked terrified.
"Princess!" Toadsworth shouted, catching Peach's attention as she grabbed her daughter by the arm, and tugged her back to their escape route. Bella simply stumbled and fell, still looking at Bowser with pure fear. It was as if she'd frozen. She didn't even have the power to feel cowardly, really.
Bella would argue with Junior like it was nothing, but it seemed like his father was such a more powerful force. He didn't look to anyone else in that moment, but his son who now seemed to be shrinking. The princess could only imagine the risks he undertook trying to free her parents. He was going to pay for it, and she couldn't just sit and watch.
With wobbly knees, she tried to get back up from her current position on the ground, eyes still watching the scene in front of her. Queen Peach tugged on her daughters arm again, but Bella stood grounded and didn't move. She was trying to build up the courage to fight him; do what she came her for. She had to free her parents.
Just as she lifted up a foot to charge at the Koopa king, a flash of blue and Red passed her and her mother.
"Mario, No!" Peach shouted, shooting a hand out as if she had a chance to stop him. Bowser turned from his son, just to catch his enemy charging for him. His face crumpled with pure disgust, as he swatted Mario away with the back of his hand like a common housefly. He flew a good 3 yards away before skidding to a halt, unconscious. The group gasped, and Bella's heart sank even deeper than it had since they'd arrived. "Dad..." She whispered, eyes beginning to glaze over with tears. "No!" Peach shouted, staring at him in hopes that he'd move. He moved his arm in an attempt to stand up, but it fell to his side as he continued to rest.
"Hey!" Junior shouted to his father, remembering Bella was behind him. The Koopa Kings scowl grew even more sinister, as he grew closer to his sons face, and gave him a hit that sent him in the opposite direction. He didn't go nearly as far as the tiny hero did, but He still was distant enough from the group that he was almost not a part of the fight anymore. "You're always in my way," He shouted to his son, who lay wounded on the wooden ship floor.
Bella's tears that fell from her cheeks grew cold, and she began to feel rage inside of her. The being that essentially ruined her life was in front of her, and what was she doing to stop him? To stop him from hurting her loved ones? Nothing. Her heart felt like it was being ripped from the chest that contained it, and Peach was nearly cutting off Bella's circulation by tugging on her arm so hard.
"Your Majesties! Come to safety!" Toadsworth shouted to Peach, who turned to see the other two toads getting into the Mushroom shaped shuttle. Bella couldn't give up. She couldn't let her family feel any more pain; but could she succeed?
"Take Annabelle, and get to-" Peach began, gasping lightly as her grip was broken by Bella shaking her arm. "You," Bella said, still looking to the ground, though It was obvious she was talking to Bowser who stood enraged in front of her. "You filthy Monster..." She finished, finally peering up to him through the tops of her eyes. Instead of filling with rage as he had to Mario and his son, he gave her a smirk. Just like the one Junior would give her when he was being cocky. The only difference was it didn't fill her with happiness, like Juniors normally would. It made her even more upset.
"Why thank you," He said, taking a step closer. Bella's fists clenched, as she glanced over to Junior, who was trying to stand up, just as her father had stopped doing. She wondered for an instant if he was okay.
"Bella, get back." Peach said, reaching once more for her daughters hand. She yanked her arm away, as she took another step towards the monster who sent her family flying. "Oh, so this is the 'little one' that kicked me in the snout? Impressive, I must say." He joked, towering over the girl from a distance. Any intimidation she'd had for him was slowly beginning to dissipate. Her family was worth anything he could do to her, even if it meant death.
"You've ruined my life." She said coldly, looking up to him. He still held a smug smile, as everything was silent for a brief moment, as the group stared at the princess in awe. Even Mario, who had now regained some strength had turned his head to watch. The only person who still wasn't attentive was Junior. Bella wasn't sure if it was because he was unconscious, or if he felt shame. She still didn't take her eyes off of the beast in front of her.
"Belle..." Mario whispered to her, knowing she wouldn't hear but hoping she would. The last thing he wanted was for her to get hurt. Yet she continued to take steps toward Bowser. He seemed unaffected, and almost amused by Bella's efforts.
"Tell you what," He began, smile still on his face. Bella's fists tightened, and she could feel the magic beginning to surge through her hands, begging to be unleashed.
"I'll kill you first so you don't have to watch your old man die," He began, rolling his eyes over to Mario who still lay on the wooden floor. Bella's face crumpled with pure hatred. She would have spoken if her teeth weren't clenched so tight.
"Simply because you're my queens child." He finished, placing a claw under her chin, scratching it as he lifted her head up so their eyes met.
"Shut up!"
A loud boom sounded, as the Princess's fist connected with Bowser's lower chest. Just as he had done to her family, she had tripled to him. The purple light from her force field illuminated on the group of watchers, shocking them as it sent the King flying into the air, and off of the flying airship with a growl.
There was a brief moment of silence, as the princess began to process what she did. She stared at her now shaking hands.
"A-Anna? What was that?!" Peach asked her daughter who was still shock filled. Junior groaned, as he finally mustered up the strength to get up.
"I... I didn't mean to-" Bella said, noticing Junior getting up. She paused when she noticed the wet sting of a scratch on her chin. Her hand shot up to it, wiping it off leaving stained blood on her fingers.
"Annabelle!" The Queen shouted, rushing to her daughter, who was now staring at her hands. She began to examine Bella to make sure she wasn't to seriously injured. She only had a minor scratch; Bowser had received the most damage from the group.
"You have to leave," Junior panted, finally managing to get up to his feet. Every set of eyes went to him, as Mario Finally limped to his feet as well. "Mario!" Peach shouted, running up to her husband, almost tripping on a loose plank. She hugged him tighter than He thought was possible.
"He wont waste any time in killing you now," Junior said again, finally looking at Bella again, eyes showing only concern as he shuffled towards the princess. She looked up to him, and felt tears welling in her eyes again. "Please listen to me, Bella. You cant stay." He said again, finally looking sorrowful; almost as if he was going to leak tears of his own. Tears fell, as there was a loud crack heard, followed by a rumble, nearly knocking everyone off their feet. The ship was going down.
"Junior, I don't want to leave yo-" She began, finally getting cut off by Junior, who knew they had hardly any time left to escape.
"Bella! Listen to me!" He said again. Mario and Peach came from behind Bella and grabbed a hold of her, and began to pull her towards the Mushroom shuttle, but it was too late. The Airship below them began to crumble, and fall to the molten sun that was now below them.
The ship disappeared in the flames of the sun below them, revealing a large metal like planet just above the sun. They all hit it with loud metallic 'thunks'.
Luckily, it only disabled Junior, who twisted an ankle. The Mushroom ship flew down in attempts to catch the falling royalty, but hauled when it saw a large mass fly out of the lava below. The Mass slammed to the planet, causing the Princess to shake with fear. It was evident to those on the planet, that it was indeed Bowser. She remembered Juniors warning, about how he would more than likely kill her now. She didn't want to die. Was this how it ended?
A loud ear piercing roar sounded, nearly deafening all those withing earshot. Bowser wasn't in the princess's sight yet, but she knew he was out for blood now. The thuds of his footsteps shook the small metallic planet the four sat on, as they knew he was on his way, and fast.
Mario rushed up to his feet, even though he was in no shape to fight. He had been weakened from hardly any exercise due to his capture for 16 years. Peach and Bella both knew this very well, but Peach was the first to grab his arm. Bella was happy it wasn't hers.
"Mario, please! You're too weak to fight right now!" Peach called, over the thumps that were getting closer and closer, drowning out her voice. It didn't stop Mario from hearing every word, and scowling at the thought of him being too weak. He'd never been too weak to defeat his enemy; why was now any different? Because he'd been locked up? Why was that the thing that stopped him from saving his family? That of all things? He cursed under his breath, still not listening to his wife. She stared up to him with tears in her eyes, begging for him to not fight. "What choice do I have?!" He shouted back, Making the queen gasp in realization. There was no other way.
Bella felt something warm blanket itself over her chest, as if to fill her with power and security. She hobbled to her feet, with a look of pure hatred over her face as she had before. She had to fight for her father.
"Stay back, I don't want you getting hurt."
The parents of the princess were quickly taken aback by this, and opened their mouths to retort. They were immediately cut off.
"I have to do this!" She said, holding a palm out to the King and Queen. They didn't have a chance to respond before a purple wall slammed into them, and sent them to the orbit of the Mushroom ship. She could hear her parents calling her name, but it was so distorted from the force field, Bella simply imagined she didn't hear anything at all.
Bowser's footsteps finally stopped, leaving Bella in his shadow as she turned around to face him. His eyes seemed to be glowing, and it was obvious he was on a whole other level than she was, despite her pure hatred and rage. Even though she should have been shrinking, she couldn't help but feel her fingers tingle with the sensation that was begging her to fight. She knew what she had to do, but how she was going to do it was another story.
Bowser glared down at Bella with Glowing eyes for what seemed like forever. He cocked his head to the side with a smirk, as if to continue a joke he'd been telling.
"Dad, No!"
All eyes (including the ones of those on the Mushroom ship) were drawn to a limping Junior, who was heading as fast as he could to stop his father from hurting Bella. He turned to his son and gave him another shove, which sent him down in the same painful manner it had before.
"I thought I told you to GET OUT OF MY WAY!"
Bella's heart jumped into her throat, as she tried to reach for him. She felt like her Mother, doing such an act, knowing the result was inevitable.
"I will not let you ruin this for me! I WILL WIN!" He shouted, turning to the teen aged princess once again. He knew she had no place to escape to, so he didn't waste his energy running up to her.
Bella's eyes were still locked on Junior, who lay immobile on the ground. It broke her heart to see him so defeated; and by his own father. How could he? To his own child? There already wasn't something completely sane about Bowser, but through all of the storybooks, he only ever seemed like he wanted companionship. Why was he turning it away? He's had a companion this entire time, but hasn't noticed.
She felt sick, as she remembered how off and awkward Junior would get while they talked about their parents.
He suddenly lifted his head, and turned it to face Bella. She gasped when she saw his face; bloody and bruised from the abuse he'd suffered. He was shaking, but it wasn't in fear. It was as if he was using every last ounce of strength in his body to look at her. His mouth suddenly opened, and it felt like hours had past until he finally spoke.
"Count to Four!" He shouted, before his head collapsed to the hard surface of the 'planet' they were on. Bowser scowled at his sons words of advice, but instead of issuing another attack on Junior, he went full speed to the Princess in front of him.
Bella blinked, and she instantly remembered what Junior was suggesting. She shot her right hand outward, creating her 'force field' sword in nearly half a second. A vantage point was easy to spot, especially since Bowser was such a massive size.
"One for the money," She said in her head, as the two collided, and Bella's sword sent the King back a few feet, before he let out a growl and charged back to her.
"Two for the show," She said again, noticing that his weapons were his fists. She spun around, slamming the sword into his left fist, sending him spinning. He let out an even rougher growl. Bowser was beginning to grow annoyed of the Princess. "Three to get ready."
She positioned herself, contemplating her next move. She knew that after this strike, she'd be able to take him down. She swung once more, aiming for his chest, hoping to disable him momentarily so she could take a moment to breathe.
The force field hit his chest, but was immediately cracked. Another loud boom sounded as the Princess was sent flying back a yard or two.
She lay on the ground, staring up to the stars and for a brief moment. She wondered if this was the end. She couldn't breathe, and the heat from the nearing sun was starting to make her dizzy. She couldn't fight like this.
"Annabelle! Oh No!" She heard muffled voices shout. Bella wondered how the voices of her parents could be the only sound she could hear at a time like this. Solar flares soared passed the group, roaring flames sounded, but the only sound left in her ears was her parents begging for her to be okay. She had to be okay; For them.
She managed to stand up, wobbly knees, and her head still facing the metallic ground. She found the strength to lift her head up, only to see Bowser with a wild smile on his face, completely unaffected.
"A gift from Rosalina, I assume? Shoulda' warned you that that magic is no match for pure strength." He said. Bella seemed unaffected, and almost bored. Her eyes were at half mast, as she tried to build up whatever energy she had left. The crack of her sword had really drained it out.
Nonetheless, she made the sword appear again, gaining a chuckle from the King of the Dark Lands. "Gotta say, I'm a little disappointed in you. I thought you'd at least compare to your old man when It came to a fight. You do have perseverance," He began, shooting verbal daggers to the girl. "I guess it doesn't matter, because I'm about to kill you anyway." He said again, pulling out a short, yet obviously lethal sword from his shell. She should have known he had one. Junior had to learn from someone.
"It hasn't been a pleasure." He said ironically with a smile, as he lunged forward. Bella didn't move. She couldn't move.
This was it. She was about to die, and there was nothing she could do about it. She couldn't even find the strength to hold her sword up above her waist. She'd... Given up. She shut her eyes, as if to be accepting her fate. There was no use fighting it; she was going to die.
Suddenly, the heat that burned her skin had ceased. The wind that blew on her face had calmed to a light whistle, and everything seemed calm. She felt relaxed, and in her own world that seemed like paradise compared to the fight.
"Is this death?" She asked herself, eyes still shut. "I don't feel any pain... Maybe death isn't so bad." She joked to herself, even though she didn't intend for it to be a joke. Nor did she laugh.
Her thoughts were broken, when she heard the fowl voice of Bowser turn into a croak, as he mustered a single word.
"Junior?"
Bella's eyes slammed open, as she realized she wasn't dead. The heat and wind were gone from her because there was something standing in front of her; that thing being Junior. Her eyes were drawn to a point emerging from the Koopa princes chest. He'd been the one who was stabbed... He had jumped in front of her.
Her eyes darted up to meet his, hoping and wishing that the Koopa in front of her was anyone but Junior. She felt her heart sink as her hopes were immediately shot down.
Junior stared back at her with soft, loving eyes. It was as if he'd felt no pain and was completely okay with what was going on. Bella however, felt the complete opposite. She was speechless, and could only feel the burn of sobs emerging slowly from her throat. This couldn't be happening.
"Thank you for being my happiness," He choked, though through his body language, it seemed rather ironic. He leaned down, and gently kissed her forehead. "Sorry for being a bad boyfriend." He joked.
She wanted to kick him for making a joke at a time like this, as the tears finally fell from her cheeks. She still couldn't speak, but it almost hurt not to. She wanted to wake up from this nightmare. She wanted it to end. She loved Junior. He was her only true friend, and now he was going to be gone? Forever?
Her thoughts were broken as he placed a claw on her cheek, still staring deep into her eyes. "Tag," He croaked again, almost unable to speak. "You're it."
He fell to the ground with a thud seemingly louder than any shed heard previously that night. Her eyes still were locked on the imaginary Junior in front of her, even though he'd finally collapsed. As her eyes focused, she began to notice Bowser. His eyes leaked silent tears as his mouth stood agape.
"No..." Bella said, shaking her head, and looking to the ground. "NO!"
She fell to her knees, and rest her arms and head on Juniors chest. His eyes were shut, and his body grew cold. Her hands formed fists, though they weren't directed at anyone, even Bowser. They were more for herself.
"You... Idiot..." She mumbled, as the tears still came from her eyes as she sobbed over his body.
"Son...?" Bowser whispered, watching the scene before him. Was his son really... Dead?
"You," He growled softly, eyes narrowing on Bella.
"You killed him!" He shouted, blind fury spewing from his mouth. He threw all of his weight forward, as he began charging for the Princess.
Before Bella could even look up, a Giant force field surrounded her and Juniors Body, Sending Bowser back. She blinked a few times, and looked at her hands, noticing it wasn't her force field. But who else...
"ANNABELLE, SNAP OUT OF IT!"
The force field disappeared, as none other than Rosalina stood before the princess. Bella's heart fell yet again, as she saw a teary eyed Queen of the Cosmos standing beside her. The force field dissolved into the sparkling starbit dust Bella used to love, but it was now a reminder of the hurt Rosalina had put her through. It was almost too much to deal with, but the princess knew she couldn't dwell on it forever. She shook her head, and again with the same wobbly knees stood on her feet.
Rosalina moved a foot, as if to almost want to run up to Bella, and hold her. The deceased prince lay at Bella's feet, who was staring teary eyed at the Queen of the cosmos with the same feelings Rosalina had.
The princess felt as if she was going to vomit, as she thought about the sacrifice Junior had made for her. She placed a Hand over her stomach, as she ran to Rosalina. Time sped back up to its normal pace, as she nearly Jumped into the Queens arms. She felt the burn in her throat, like she should cry, but no tears fell.
Rosalina's arms wrapped tightly around Bella, as she felt the same way. Tears wouldn't come, but their chests had felt as if the weight of all the worlds were on it. (Which in a sense, it was. But that thought didn't help either.)
Remembering the current situation, Rosalina held Bella by the shoulders abruptly, taking all of the princesses face in before giving her instruction.
"You cant try and kill him, it wont work. Our Magic isn't made to do such a thing," She began, Bella taking note. She could almost feel herself forming another sword with the rage that was bubbling inside her once more.
"What do I do, then? He can't win this!" She shouted back, before Rosalina could Finnish. Instead of scolding the Princess like she usually would have done, she simply continued with her instruction.
"You need to focus on getting him off of the planet, and into the Sun." She said blatantly. The princess had almost forgotten about the heat that wasn't helping the sick feeling in her stomach. And... Into the sun? That was ironically dark... But so was what he did to Junior.
"I'll stun him again before you send him to the Sun. If he can swim out of the lava, it wont matter if we send him there or not," She added to her previous statement.
"He has to drown." She said again.
The goodness inside Bella was telling her that this wasn't the way to solve things; that Bowser was probably suffering too, and that he didn't mean to kill Junior. She knew he didn't mean to kill his own son, but Bella shouldn't be held responsible for it, should she? He did save Her...
Her thoughts were cut off by a loud roar, that came from a very short (and growing shorter) distance away. Bowser was charging to the girls, when Rosalina quickly put up a force field In front of them, causing a crack as the two collided. Bella flinched at the harsh sound, but was even more surprised to see that Bowser still remained shoving and pounding on the force field. It began to crack, and leak the shimmering stardust through the holes. With every Punch, Bowser let out a sickening growl, tears evident on his face.
"What's wrong with you!? Your son gave up his life for Bella, and you're trying to kill her!? Have you learned nothing!?" She shouted to the fuming King, who seemed to only grow more upset with each passing moment.
"It's because of that bitch that my son's dead!" He shouted, obviously not having a rage filter. He continued to punch and scream.
"You're oblivious to everything! It's because of YOU!" She shouted again, scowling when he used the term 'bitch' to describe her 'daughter'.
Bella's face was hot, as she was almost trying to forget Juniors death. At hearing the Queens words, Bowser paused, but then immediately resumed his fit, continuing to pound on the field that protected the duo.
"The field wont last much longer," Rosalina shouted through Bowser's tantrum. Bella's heart sank yet again, and she was filled with despair. She didn't have enough energy to help Rosalina at all... If she'd used her Magic now, she'd have no hopes of defeating Bowser and sending him all the way to the sun. She really was useless...
"I'm going to let go in three, and I want to to Run out of his Way. He won't go after you first." She said, Making Bella's tears finally find their ways to her cheeks.
"I'm not going to let him hurt you!" She shouted, reaching out for Rosalina.
"And I'm not going to let him hurt you!" She shouted at Bella again, making the Princess's eyes wide with shock as she stopped dead in her tracks. She didn't expect that response.
The shield was nearly done for, as Rosalina stuck a palm out to face Bella.
"I'm sorry, Bellatrix." She said, switching force fields from her left hand to her right, making the one over top of them disappear, and one that sent Bella flying appear.
The princess's body flew and hit the planet again, making all of her limbs throb. She didn't know how much more of it she could handle. Both Physically, and Emotionally. Lifting her head up, she saw Bowser standing over top of Rosalinas now collapsed body. She didn't look dirty or bruised, or like she'd really suffered any injury. She looked rather peaceful, as if she was sleeping. The only thing that caused alarm was that she no longer continued to have a glow to her. She seemed dull, and essentially lifeless.
Her heart sank at the thought of Rosalina being dead... Her metaphorical 'mother'. The one who'd raised her, and saved her on numerous occasions. It was then that Bella realized that Rosalina really and truly did love Bella, no matter what Toadsworth had told her. She really was a good mom, even though she wasn't a mom. And the thought of her ceasing to exist broke Bellas heart. If there was anything that needed to give Bella more of a reason to Kill Bowser, it was that. She couldn't take it any more.
The sword in her hand formed yet again, this time with more power than any other time she'd brought it out before. Bowser didn't chuckle this time, but he looked the farthest from intimidated. Without warning, he charged towards Bella.
Even though she was near her breaking point, she still charged to the king with full speed, keeping in mind both Juniors and Rosalinas notes. She had to disable him first, before sending him to his demise.
Bella felt a scream erupt from her lungs as she struck Bowser with all the force she had. He stumbled, but didn't fall back. She found herself blindly hitting him, and hated herself for a brief moment for ignoring Juniors hints. Bowser came at her with a swing of his fist, and his spiked cuff cut into her shoulder, despite her dodge.
"One for the money," She said to herself, through clenched teeth, feeling the sting of her fresh wound. She could feel the vibrations of her grunting and shouting on her teeth. It was almost therapeutic to let out her aggression this way.
She swung again, and hit his wrist, sending the fist that was headed toward her backwards. She needed to Find a vantage point, beyond his fists; an area that would do damage. His chest wasn't an option; She couldn't risk another drainage of her own power. She had to seriously think about her moves if she wanted to win the fight.
While thinking, she blocked 4 other swings from the fuming king of the dark lands. She continued to look, seeing that maybe an arm injury would do the trick, instead of a fist.
"Two for the show," She swung again, and hit his Right arm, causing him to cry out in pain. Her sword had become so thick, it didn't really do its job at 'cutting' or 'being a sword'. It was more of a mallet, so most of his wounds would just hurt like hell and bruise. But they were enough to immobilize him.
"You little-" He said through clenched teeth, backing up with shut eyes. He grabbed his Right shoulder with his left hand, completely leaving himself open for an attack. Careless mistake on his part.
"Now's my chance," Bella thought.
"Three to get ready," Aiming straight for his head. The King, who's eyes were previously shut, opened now only to reveal Bella's sword slamming into the side of his head, causing him to stumble, and loose hearing. The world went black to him, yet he still felt like everything was spinning.
Bella now felt the power surge through her body as she felt her eyes shut, as she jumped up into the air so she could be the same height as the King when she hit him. She was going to do it.
"Four," She said while jumping. "Time to go!" She shouted, her sword finally meeting the koopa kings side with a loud crack. It had sent him flying off of the Metallic planet, and into the orbit of the sun where the gravity pulled him into the lava with a bass like thud. She watched with a disgusted face as he was engulfed in flame.
Just as soon as it was over, it was if all of her energy was drained. Its like her knowing she had something to accomplish was feeding her the strength she needed.
"Don't quit on me now," She said softly to herself, as she turned around and made her way to Rosalina. She tried as little as she could to look at Juniors lifeless body. She really didn't need to cry at this moment. Crying would come later. Right now, she had to see if Rosalina was okay.
"Rosalina?" Bella called, falling to her knees next to the body beside her. There was no sound for a very short moment, until a whirring noise of the Mushroom Ship caught Bella's ears. She turned immediately, despite her great interest in Rosalinas well being. Everyone got off of the shuttle, and ran over to the two.
Mario was the first to make it to them, picking Bella up and embracing her in the biggest hug that the both of them thought was possible. Peach wasn't far behind, almost making the two fall over to where Bella previously sat. "You were amazing out there," Mario said, tears welling over top of the ones he'd been shedding while watching the fight. "We... We wouldn't have made it without you." A disheveled red toad called from behind Toadsworth who had a somber yet proud look on his face. The blue toad remained even further behind, silent tears falling as he looked at Junior. Bella turned her head to see what he was looking at, but immediately regretted her decision.
"He meant a lot to you," A weak voice called from beside the group. "Didn't he?"
Bella's eyes widened as she managed to loose the tight grip of her parents to fall back down to where Rosalina was. She was now beginning to sit up, and everyone helped her up, including a no longer sour Toadsworth.
"You're Okay! I was so worried-" Bella began, as she hugged the Queen who cut her off.
"It was obvious that you meant the world to him," She said again, still talking about the last thing Bella wanted on her mind. Involuntary tears fell from her cheeks, as she looked at him again, almost running over to be next to him.
A warm set of arms wrapped around her, as she realized Rosalina was hugging her. Her tears stopped, as if Rosalina was a pain eraser. Peach and Mario said nothing, as they understood the values of love and how strong it is; especially when it's essentially forbidden. Queen Peach and King Mario knew that better than most. Peach was told that she had to marry into royalty, which she obviously later ignored for true love.
They both saw how Happy Junior got on the days when he came home from hanging out with Bella, especially Peach.
A sudden loud thud was heard, as everyone's hearts stopped in fear of their enemy somehow returning.
A flash was seen, as a red tinted 'tornado' like black hole appeared. There was suddenly a large gust of wind that never seemed to cease. It blew everything away; the Mushroom ship, the rubble on the Planet; it even took Junior with it. She felt her heart turn black.
"The universe is re-setting itself?! Why!?" Mario shouted over the loud sound of wind that was whirling past their ears. "To reset all causality!" Rosalina answered, feeling planet the group was standing on slowly crumble beneath them.
Bella Shrieked, as she stared into the tornado that was beginning to consume everything. She tried to gain a sense of balance, as her parents stayed extremely close to their Daughter, trying to grab on to her. Rosalina floated more gracefully than the rest, remembering the same occurrence happening 100 space years ago.
Above, Bella noticed the Observatory; her home of 17 years. It was going to disappear just like everything else was. Just like her parents, Rosalina, Junior, and herself. They were all going to disappear, forever. She shut her eyes, as her parents tried to tell her that everything was going to be okay, but her panic attack seemed to block everything out.
Her eyes snapped open when she heard the joyful squeals of Lumas, all being sucked into the tornado in front of her. They all sounded so happy to be dying.
"No!" She shouted, reaching out for them as if she had a chance to stop them. Rosalinas voice broke the panic Bella was currently feeling. As she took a breath, she realized that the wind that was previously blowing seemed to cease, though in front of her, the tornado still spun. "Wha?" She said out loud, looking at the scene before her. Her parents voices ceased also, but their hands were firmly attached to her dress.
"You remember what I told you about Lumas?" She said softly, looking at the tornado, still sucking in everything in its path. Bella could only stare at Rosalina, who had a smile on her face. She still didn't turn to face the princess.
"Lumas are stars," She began, feeling the calmness of the area they were in blanket her. "They grow old, and become new things."
Bella was curious as to why their 'mama' was sadistically watching them all being sucked into oblivion. They all still squealed with joy, though their squeals were more like muffles. It was almost as if Rosalina and Bella were in some type of third space together; alone, but still surrounded with the world.
She thought back to the lesson about Lumas and Starbunnies, and their lives.
"Some become comets, others become planets-" She said, listing off the things she remembered before being cut off by Rosalina who still didn't face the Princess.
"And they have the power to heal; they bring forth new life." She added. Bella didn't quite understand if Rosalina was speaking in riddles or being blunt. There was hardly ever an in between with her. Bella didn't say anything, cuing Rosalina to finally turn and face the Princess. Her eyes were shut, but tear streaks shone on her face which was now glowing again, full of life. She had a smile on her face, which confused Bella yet again.
"I'm going to erase your memory, Bella." She finally choked out, eyes opening with tears still fresh in her eyes. Her smile still stayed, even though Bella could tell she was beginning to lose it.
Bella's mouth opened to object, but Rosalina cut her off once more with increased volume.
"I stole the life you should have had. I'm not going to steal this new one from you." She admitted, smile finally wearing off. Bella now had tears to match Rosalinas. Did this mean she wasn't going to die after all? The lumas' are fixing everything?
"No! You cant do that! I don't want to forget you!" Bella shouted back, as if being louder would change the Queens mind.
Rosalina gulped before continuing with a stuttered sigh. "You'll live the life you were meant to. As a Princess, with your parents; You'll get to meet so many other humans just like us, and have so many more opportunities. Bowser will be alive, and his memory wont be erased, but I'm sure he's changed his mind about things after killing his son," She said, a smile coming back to her face. "Who will also be alive,"
Bella's heart fluttered. It was as if a huge weight had been lifted. "He will? How do you know?" Bella asked, in a much calmer voice. Her cheeks were now bright red, and her tears stopped almost immediately.
"Lumas have the power to heal when they reverse causality." She said. Bella didn't question it any further. As long as He'd be alive, she'd be okay.
"Where will you be?" Bella asked, considering Rosalinas offer.
"I'll be up here. I'm not going anywhere. I'm always watching over you, like the sun in the day and the moon in the night." She finished, Reciting the same words her own mother told her. The same one she wrote about in a storybook.
Bella choked, as the tears came back as she heard the words Rosalina spoke. She didn't want to be without her, no matter how badly she'd been hurt.
"Well, what about when it rains?" Bella asked, catching the Queen off guard. "What if I cant see the sun, or moon?" She asked again, also reciting the book Rosalina wrote. Rosalina couldn't believe Bella read it enough on her own to memorize the words.
The Princess's face showed a frown, as she already knew what the response would be to her recited question.
"I'll turn into a star in the clouds, and wait for your tears to dry."
Bella didn't respond, but lightly let herself sob. Rosalina did the same, but in an inaudible sense. She didn't want to do it either, but she knew its what she had to do.
The wind began to pick up again, as if to be blowing their little third space away. Her parents became more than just stiff arms and reverted back to bodies which were gripping her tight, not wanting her to worry about their fate. Rosalina hovered before them, in front of the tornado which still continued to suck in everything in its path.
"I'm sorry, Annabelle." Rosalina said, waving both of her hands in the air, and throwing them forward, straight to Bella. The pure white light of Magic that Rosalina created seemed to vanish Inside the Princess's head.
Before the princess could speak, she was out cold in her parents arms. The wind disorientated them, as they tried to look for Rosalina to ask what she'd done. But she had vanished. She was no longer hovering next to them.
They held Bella tight, and they felt themselves being dragged inside the Tornado. It was ironically soothing.
"Annabelle?" A soft voice called, as a hand brushed across the young adults cheek. She felt her eyes open to a bright light, with two silhouettes casting shadows on to her face. She felt sore, and couldn't remember a single thing. She blinked a few times, as the pure white light turned to a baby blue, and the two black silhouettes turned into people she recognized instantly. They were her parents.
"Mom... Dad?" She questioned, finally sitting up and looking at them. They both held looks of anxious anticipation, wondering if she was okay from whatever type of blast Rosalina had thrown at Bella.
She didn't question it yet, as she blinked a few more times and looked around. There was a crystal clear pond next to her, and her legs were cradled by the greenest, and softest grass she'd ever felt. The sky was blue, but it seemed odd to Bella. There were also puffy white things she knew were clouds, that lightly dotted the sky. The sun shone bright, and two butterflies danced along a gate. A gate that led to the largest building the young girl had ever seen. "Wow... What's that?" She asked, noticing a concerned glance from both of her parents who were on their knees, staring at her. Peach turned around to face the building. "Thats our castle." She said with a smile, noticing her daughter was showing signs of being alert.
She felt dumb for asking, after she saw the stain glass window with a mural of her Mother on it.
"ack," Bella groaned, placing a hand on her head. Mario and Peach gasped as they lunged to help her, though they were less than a foot away. "I'm okay," She giggled, causing them to sigh in relief. "I'm sorry, I just don't remember anything. What were we doing just now?" She said, making Mario and Peach, exchange glances before understanding what it was that Rosalina had done to Bella.
"Your... Your Majesties?" A child's voice called from behind them. They all turned to face a group of what seemed to be children toads. They all had looks of pure wonder on their faces.
"They have returned! Mama! Mama! They have returned!" A pink spotted one called, turning and running with cheers as the others Danced and sang.
"Returned?" Bella asked, confused.
Mario stuttered, trying to come up with a lie. "From our picnic." He said, staring at Peach, who nodded in false reassurance. The children were oblivious to Mario's comment due to their celebration. The Trio stood up, helping each other as they stood.
"I'm sorry I don't remember the food. I'm sure it was delicious," She said still dizzy. Peach quickly took her daughter by the arm, along with her husband. They both felt bad for lying, but assumed it would be better off this way. Without having to explain her heartbreak, and having to re-live it. They were finally together as a family. That's all they ever wanted.
"Lets go home and clean up, shall we?" She suggested. Bella smiled with agreement, still confused but ironically not questioning anything.
"Sounds great!" Both Mario and Bella said in unison, then laughed afterward. The children ran off to spread the news to their own parents, leaving the Queen and King to think of how to mold back into their lives.
Bella was still admiring the beauty of the scenery, and felt herself drawn to look up at the sky. Doing so, she saw a light twinkle of a star. She blinked to check her eyes, but when she opened them again the flash was gone. She hummed in thought to herself as she began to follow her parents into their Castle, and into her new life.
And that's it for 'Mama Rosalina'! I AGAIN would like to thank you all for taking the time to read my story, and review it. But now here comes the topic of me creating a Sequel!I'd like to post a Sequel, but I don't really want to 'overstep' my bounds. I know this story isn't fantastic, but I don't really want to ruin a good story by making an 'ehh' sequel. It will focus on Bella's memory loss, Junior, Bella's new life as an 'official princess,' ect. I have a plot, it just needs to be stitched together; So if you guys have any Ideas, I'd love to hear them!
I've also been contemplating doing another Mario Fic, but about a completely different story line (One where Bella doesn't exist, essentially); preferably dealing more with Luigi than Mario. I'm Still not sure what it will/would be about, but like I said, I'm up for suggestions, so there's no need to be a stranger!
I also love constructive criticism, and any other kind words you have to say. Thank you all so much for reading!
