Chapter 12 - Loki finds out

They were walking for quite a long time, and they barely made a dent on the distance. Loki was beginning to complain, adding to the drama and annoyance of their trip. They hadn't gotten any farther as they could have if they had the ship, but they knew that they were at least halfway there.

They managed to pass through quite a lot of debris, from what they guessed could have been the debris from the last battle in Svartalfheim for the Aether.

The battle in which Odin's father, Bor, had lead.

It was a good thing that Volstagg and Hogun had stolen the ship that had belongings inside them, mainly for those that require camping. Even though it wasn't enough, it was still useful. And the trio of guys had been carrying them for a while now, while Loki and Jane were both hugging the blankets closer to their bodies.

Thor was hugging Jane, as he led the others. Sif followed swiftly behind them while Fandral, Volstagg and Hogun stayed farther back.

Loki was the one that was lagging behind, taking decent steps, it's been a while since he had proper exercise and walking so far and away from home took its toll. The winds in Svartalfheim wasn't exactly good news, it was too cold even for Loki in his Aesir body.

The wind picked up every now and then, and they were all exhausted at that point. But Thor wanted to keep going, because if not, then Jane might die faster than he could cry out for her. With Thor being irrational, his friends and brother had to stick their nose in his business and make him see sense.

"We have to rest Thor, we've been walking for hours now and it's getting darker." Sif addressed, pointing at the dark gloomy skies. "We wouldn't be walking if that boat wasn't destroyed."

"Either way, we need to rest." Fandral mumbled agreeably. "We've fought Asgard and escaped, and I wish to set up camp."

"We have some bread." Volstagg's stomach growled.

"We're not eating them yet." Sif hissed.

"Anything else you wish to complain about?" Thor muttered tiredly as well. "I wish for this journey to be done with as well."

"Loki is falling behind." Hogun told them.

"Loki?" Thor turned, with Jane in tow. "Are you well?"

"Brother, can we stop?" Loki huffed tiredly from behind. "Even if we reach Malekith by nightfall, there is no way we can fight being this tired."

"As much as I want to fight that creature, Loki is right." Sif openly agreed. "Even if we make it there, we won't have any strength left. We need to rest."

"Fine, we can stay under here." Thor stopped, setting Jane to lean on one of the rocks.

"Set up camp?" Jane mumbled.

"Yes, we set up camp." Thor repeated.

Jane had woken up halfway throughout the journey and asked if she could walk, not wishing to be a burden, and Thor allowed her. He had been letting her lean on him for a long while now. The Aether was draining her energy to live, and they really had to get to Malekith before everything is over and done with.

They had set up camp and built a fire to keep warm. They gathered around it and a loud grumbling noise sounded from one of them, and everyone else was sure that it was someone's stomach. Loki stayed silent, and he felt really hungry at the moment.

"This place is awfully strange." Jane murmured. "I thought every realm might have all been like how pretty Asgard is."

"I'm sorry I led you to believe that." Thor chuckled.

Loki just stared at the couple in disgust, being the younger brother had perks when it came to insulting the older one and Thor caught on, sticking his tongue out as he hugged Jane tighter.

"Eww..." Loki pretended to think as he watched them. "Must he be proud of the actions he's doing in front of us?"

"Hold tight, Jane." Thor said.

There was a gust of wind that was very strong and cold that blew right pass them, and Loki had to clutch the blanket tighter around himself while Thor hugged Jane and protected her.

Loki was still jealous.

He hated it.

"Great, now we must lay waste here." Loki complained and sneered. "No food, no shelter and no water. How are we supposed to fight Malekith?"

"We have food, here." Sif handed him a piece of bread. "You need this."

"No water, but thank you."

Loki accepted and took a bite, as he watched Sif hand out a few pieces of bread to the others as well. They weren't prepared for this kind of travel and didn't plan straight through, and Loki regretted everything already.

If Thor had just told him, he could have prepared a spell to have their belongings and food packed easily.

Not to brag but… With one spell!

"What now?" Loki asked, barely audible.

"Simple, I already have a plan." Thor said, leaning with Jane. "It's dangerous though."

"And how does it work again?" Fandral questioned, finishing his piece of bread. "We've gotten this close, so how bad could it be? Right?"

"Everything here is bad." Hogun huffed.

"We let him take the Aether out of Jane." Thor responded.

"How are you planning to do that?" Loki wondered, and grimly thought. "It's hard enough to get near him without his army and that other strange creature."

"He's right again." Sif said. "He's bound to have a few dark elves with him."

"I haven't thought of the details yet." Thor sighed and Loki rolled his eyes at his brother's answer. "My idea was to just get Jane near him, enough to take the Aether out of her and sooner or later I will kill Malekith."

"That would surely be our defeat." Loki mumbled.

"What do you mean, brother?"

"Think about it, brother." He copied his voice when he returned it to Thor. "If you let Malekith get his hands on the Aether, then that will be our downfall."

"Who says I will let him have it?" Thor grinned as he saw Loki's confusion. "I'll destroy it as soon as it is out of her with the power of Mjolnir."

"A disaster in the making." Loki yawned tiredly. "Are you sure we're not related?"

Thor ignored the insult that came from Loki, and observed at how tired his brother looked. He almost looked as tired as his beloved Jane was. Thor looked at his friends, he wanted to discuss something with them and he couldn't just make Loki leave for them to hear it.

"You should rest, brother." Thor insisted and his friends caught on.

"I'll try, Thor." Loki stared at the ground. "But, I want to know who Malekith was with first."

"What—?"

The questioned caught them off guard.

"The large tall one with the dark horns and skin like clothes." Loki mumbled, rubbing his eyes. "He saw me when he passed by. I thought he wanted to kill me, but he left me alone. Then you found me. I wanted to know who he was, I forgot."

"You forgot?" Thor worriedly stared.

"I'm fine. I just said I forgot." Loki shrugged. "It didn't seem important at the time."

"Kurse." Volstagg said, and Loki turned.

"Pardon?" He blinked.

"Why do you wish to know, Loki?" Thor eyed his brother suspiciously.

"Why not, brother?" His response was. "We will be fighting them, won't we, it's best to know the enemy before we go off and have ourselves killed."

"Who says you will be fighting with us?"

"What?" Loki leaned back, appalled at his brother. "What do you mean, I won't—"

"Loki, I asked you to help me get here." Thor answered. "Not fight."

Loki didn't say a word, knowing Thor would just have some sort of stupid response and Loki just didn't want to bother creating an argument. He turned to Volstagg and eyed him, noticing the bigger man was fidgeting slightly on the ground where he sat.

"Who is Kurse?" Loki asked.

"His kind were legends or in the tales of our youth, deadly." Volstagg continued as he patted his belly. "I believe he is one of the most powerful of the dark elves and is the last of his kind."

"That's a good thing." Thor venomously spat. "The realms need no more of him and his people."

"You're mad." Loki tilted his head oddly. "He was with Malekith when you saved Mother and Jane, yes?"

"Don't you think it's time?" Jane tugged at Thor's hand, urging him to tell him now before anything got worse. "Thor?"

Thor looked at his friends as well, and noticed that they too want him to tell his brother before it was too late. Loki just stared at them, a little confused on what was going on, he turned to his brother for some strange and familiar comfort and received one.

"Yes, Loki." Thor said, hesitantly. "He saved Malekith and got away."

"Oh. Is that so?" Loki said disappointingly. "There's something weird about you, brother."

"You should rest, brother." Thor insisted. "Lest we need your skills of sorcery in battle."

"I'd like that." He smiled. "And the rest of you?"

"We have much to discuss." Sif crossed her arms angrily. "Sleep, Loki. We shall tell you when you wake of whatever plan we think of."

"Aye, it's best if you do." Fandral sighed. "It shall be a long night."

Loki made eye contact with Jane, who had sunken eyes and looked dead where she sat. Loki was a bit worried for her too and the look she was given him had pity in it.

Loki hated being pitied for his condition.

"Hmm… of course."

Loki hummed and turned his back from them and lay to his side, clutching the blanket tightly around his shoulders as he closed his eyes trying to sleep. It had been a few minutes, or close to an hour and a half if Loki was counting.

He had dozed off for the first hour but eventually woke up and heard argument.

"Why are they shouting?" Loki wondered. "What is going on?"

"What would you have me do!?" Thor shouted. "I want what is best for him! He cannot handle the truth just yet!"

"And you think that hiding it from him for this long will help him!?" Jane questioned. "Thor, you're hurting yourself and your brother."

"I don't know what to do!"

"I wonder—" Loki had a crazy thought.

Loki squinted, groaned and turned, but never opened his eyes and he could feel that all eyes were on him when he faced them. He hugged the blanket around him and he could still feel lingering stares.

"Lower your voices." Sif hissed.

"That's not our fault." Fandral argued. "Thor is half mad if he thinks he could continue to keep this secret from Loki any longer."

"More secrets?" Loki dug himself deeper into the blanket. "Thor's keeping more secrets from me?"

Loki continued to feign sleep, noticing that the others probably thought it was a false alarm that he was awake, and the whispering had continued.

"Why didn't you tell him, Thor?" Sif asked.

"What would you have me say?" Thor growled, lowly.

"The truth would be nice." Hogun backed them up. "You know of Loki's condition, but do you really think he would not understand your reasoning?"

"He'll just be angrier with you if you let it continue." Jane agreed. "Thor you have to trust your brother."

"What would you have me tell him?" Thor palmed his face, sighing loudly. "I do not know where to start. I don't know where to begin to tell him how sorry I am."

"He'll understand." Fandral assured him. "Loki's strong enough."

"But that doesn't mean he will take it nicely."

"Do not blame your brother, Thor." Sif narrowed her eyes. "It was your choice not to tell him who we were mourning for. He had the right to know, but you kept to secrets and promises."

"Mourning?" Loki wondered. "The funeral. But— we only mourned for warriors. Didn't we?"

"But mother wouldn't—"

"How would you know exactly what your mother wishes?"

"She wouldn't want him to feel pain and suffering." Thor insisted that was what Loki would feel, and it was true. "She would have wanted Loki to be better, before the truth is let out."

What son would want his mother dead? With all that love, why wouldn't Loki feel depressed? He loved her so much, she cared for him through and through, without any doubt while Thor and Odin had their fair share of ignorance.

So why would Thor think that way about him, his own brother?

Did he think that prolonging the thought would make Loki forget the pain?

No.

Loki will always be in pain, if Loki found out.

And it was time Thor understood that. He can't keep protecting Loki, and it was time they all grew up from that reality.

"But prolonging this will cause him more suffering." Jane told him.

Thor was like a defeated puppy, being tortured by the knowledge of lying to his own brother about the truth that lingered in that funeral.

"I think it's time that Loki knew about his mother." Sif said softly. "And who better to tell him than you."

"Mother? What about her? She's safe, isn't she?" Loki felt himself trembling, but realized he should stop before they check up on him. "I have to know—I have to. Tell me—please tell me. Say it, I want to hear it!"

"How should I begin?" Thor looked at them all with sad blue eyes.

"How are we to know?" Fandral spoke. "Your situation is far too difficult even for us."

"That is just it, friends." Thor broke down. "I don't know how I should approach this. What am I supposed to say?"

Loki waited for Thor to continue, but judging from Thor's voice that was cracking, it seemed painful and hard to express.

"What is it Thor? What aren't you telling me, brother?"

"Mother is dead, Loki. I'm sorry for lying to you?"

"What—?" Thor's words echoed inside Loki's head.

"She's dead and she's never coming back. He killed her, and I was too late to save her and I lied to you. For a long while, I lied to you."

"No. That's not true!" Loki felt himself freeze, his fists clenched through the blanket.

"It was my fault. I was too late."

"Nonononoon—That's a lie! That's a lie. She's alive!"

"Is that what you wish me to tell him?" Thor's voice echoed, tears fell from his eyes as his voice cracked.

"Stop it Thor… please stop saying these things."

"Loki, the funeral we participated in was Mother's funeral and that I am truly sorry, I couldn't let you go because you might break down and would never forgive me for not being able to protect her."

"She has to be alive." Loki wanted to cry. "Mother can't be dead."

"Thor, that's not—" Jane swallowed, patting Thor.

"I don't know where to begin or how to say it to him." Thor broke. "Everything I think to say ends up being too hurtful."

"There's no other way to say it." Volstagg stared at the ground. "You can say it bluntly but—"

"It's still not an option." Thor felt like he was crushed. "I was too late to save her and I've been punishing myself for it! I can't forgive myself for what I've done by lying to him. I can't face my brother. I cannot—"

"Why brother— why?" Loki trembled. "All these times I've looked for her."

"Tell him what you must." Volstagg said sadly. "Perhaps the burden will be easier to bear."

"He will never forgive me."

"How can I—?"

"He trusted me. I'm his brother, he trusted me not to do anything like that to him. It took him a while to begin to trust Father again, and if I tell him, what would become of us? He would hate me forever."

"Thor, I'm sorry but—" Sif felt sad for him. "You should do what is right."

"Knowing Loki, he'll want your reason— and your honesty." Hogun said grimly. "He will want the truth from you."

"How can I face Loki?" Thor swallowed, trembling slightly. "For him to be in front of a liar of a brother that he had trusted with his life, it would hurt him greatly. Mother wouldn't want us to fight."

"Thor, calm down." Jane patted his shoulders.

"I'm sure there will be an easier way to tell him." Volstagg sounded at the side.

"Yes, just take time to think." Fandral agreed.

While everyone continued to try and help Thor get his story straight, Jane had drifted her thoughts away from them and stared at Loki. She could see him fidget in his sleep, and she narrowed her eyes to see him…

Crying?

Loki stopped himself from making a noise, because it was so painful to hear his brother say those things.

It hurts so much.

He didn't want to believe him.

He realized that the tears had slipped from his eyes, and he opened them briefly to see that everyone was so busy to notice him, and it was a good thing his vision was blurry from the tears, because he didn't see Jane staring at him.

Loki wiped the tears from his eyes and palmed his face.

Jane saw Loki turn his back on everyone while they were distracted, and she could faintly see Loki's body trembling through the blanket, trying to keep himself calm and collected, but it wasn't working.

The news was too large and too abrupt for him to handle.

"Oh no." Jane frowned, hugging the blanket around her. "He must have heard everything."

Loki continued to be this way, while the others were ignorant of his pain. He cried as silently as he could, wanting to tear apart what he could when he had the chance.

He wanted to die with her.

"Oh, Loki. I'm so sorry." Jane thought, wanting to help ease his pain. "I'm so very sorry. You don't deserve any of this pain that you're feeling."

Jane didn't bother to tell Thor and the others that Loki knows, because it wasn't any of her business. It was Thor's and Loki's business, and she didn't want to get in the way of the two brothers.

Loki tried to drown the thoughts away, as he listened carefully to how Thor and the others stopped talking about him and explained to everyone how they would take their journey on for tomorrow.

Leaving the sad conversation behind, they respected his sorrow.

Loki just listened to Thor talking and talking, drowning away his own pain, wanting to forget, while he himself drowned the thoughts away, hoping that it weren't true.

"Lies… so many lies." Loki fisted the blanket.

Malekith, Kurse and the rest of the dark elves treaded carefully, as they maneuvered the ship silently and close enough to walk the distance to where Thor and his friends were. Hoping to surprise them with an attack and get the Aether. Malekith dropped down the ship and walked to where Thor and the others were supposed to be.

The Dark Elves went to Thor and his friends.

But Malekith stopped while Kurse stayed by his side.

"There." He pointed at another direction. "The Aether is walking away from them. I wonder why?"

"What would you wish me to do, my Lord?" Algrim/Kurse asked.

"Go to the thunderer. I will take care of the Aether." Malekith grinned maliciously.

"Of course, My Lord." He nodded obediently.

"Take the rest of the Elves with you; I will only need a few. It seems that the Aether and the young one are together, both strong and both begging to be taken."

It had been a year since Loki had spoken last with Helblindi and Byleistr, and though the two wanted more closure with their younger brother, they had decided that it would probably be best if his other family were to help him first.

But the Jotnar only had little patience.

They wanted to see the little Prince come to their realm and learn, they wanted to make amends and despite the tragic incident that led to the destruction of their realm, not everything was to Loki's blame.

The blame had undoubtedly been passed on to Odin, which he had respectfully accepted as both Father and King.

It was his responsibility on how his children were raised.

And Loki was raised to hate his own people, therefore Loki's reasoning was invalid and he was forgiven for it.

Helblindi and Byleistr had both been experiencing strange feelings of worry, and they had been trying for days now to get in contact with Asgard. The two have been meaning to use the Casket in order to travel through the realm to pay Loki a visit, so they tried other methods first, like calling for the Gate-Keeper, but Heimdall was too busy to acknowledge their cries.

And it took days before they finally gotten word.

Helblindi was sitting on the throne, looking pissed as ever just as Byleistr came in, slightly panting. Helblindi stood up and jumped off the throne as he stared at his brother.

"I saw the Bifrost enter our atmosphere." Helblindi growled lowly. "The guard we sent, was there any news from Asgard?"

"There were a few." Byleistr spoke sadly. "There was an attack on Asgard, and it led half their palace vulnerable. And the Queen, she's dead."

"The Queen, may her soul rest peacefully in Valhalla."

"Loki must have mourned greatly for her. She was a strong mother and Queen of her realm. And last time we were there, she had expressed her love for him. It is a shame she had to die at such an age."

"Loki." Helblindi clenched his fists. "What of him?"

"He is traveling with Odin's son to Svartalfheim. Word is that they had escaped when Odin had demanded they stay. The eldest, Thor, he had dragged Loki into helping him."

"What use has he in that realm?" Helblindi paced. "The convergence is almost nearing; do not tell me it is solely for that reason, because we both know that is beyond idiotic."

"They had temporarily closed the Bifrost, that is the reason why Odin's eldest had to escape and the reason we did not get this news earlier. They also said that they had been attacked by Malekith and the Dark Elves. They search for the Aether that was trapped within the body of the beloved mortal of Odin's eldest son."

"They escaped." Helblindi repeated. "We must look for them, Odin has his realm to protect. We have someone to retrieve. Glhoris!"

"Your highness!" Glhoris grunted, big and tall.

Helblindi turned to the guards behind the icy pillars, they were Glhoris's to command, Jotunheim's own warriors.

"Get Flahjar on the throne immediately," Helblindi sneered. "His position will be temporary until we return. We are going after them. Byleistr—"

"I have the casket." Byleistr grinned mischievously.

"Great. We leave soon." His brother grinned back.

Loki heard everything and it was painful. It had been a few hours, since Thor and the others had spoken and they had fallen prey to the exhaustion.

When everyone was asleep, Loki roughly threw the blanket off and started to walk away, wanting to destroy something. He didn't care how far he had gotten, but he managed to walk to the nearest cliff and trailed downward.

"Freedom is a lie." Loki mumbled. "Everything I lived through is chaos."

Loki kept going down the cliff and slid, knowing that even with the trails he left it would be harder to find him with the constant gusts of wind in Svartalfheim ruining the trails he made.

"Idiots. Morons." Loki muttered darkly. "Vain, cruel, heartless bastards—"

He continued to walk away, into an open area and he just wanted to shout the pain away. Loki didn't know that Jane was awake and had started following him.

Jane had a good distance on him and had trailed down the cliff too; following after him and Loki had heard the rocks falter. Loki stopped in the middle of the open area.

"Great. Some company, just what I needed." Loki grimly thought.

Loki noticed immediately the footsteps and thought it was probably Sif, he turned around with his fists glowing green with fury.

"What do you want!? Can you not leave me be!?" Loki shouted as he shot her with magic.

The blast connected and Loki's eyes widened at the mix of green and red, and he immediately backed away in fright. Sif would have dodged that attack, instead, he was seeing something horrific.

His magic was being eaten by this thing.

"Oh my God!" Jane shouted.

Loki narrowed his eyes, at the familiar person who screamed. He thought it was Sif, but clearly he was wrong. Jane looked at the shield the Aether created to protect her, deflecting Loki's attack. It was a scary thought, because the Aether's power devoured Loki's attack in almost a heartbeat.

It was frightening.

"You almost—" Jane breathed out tiredly. "What is wrong with you!?"

When the energy died down, he saw Jane in that same gown, slightly dirty, and the blanket abandoned on the ground as she stood there, still looking dead on her feet.

"I'm sorry, I didn't—"

"You could have killed me." Jane said in panic.

Loki had to take a deep breath.

"You didn't have to attack me." Jane desperately tried to stand on her feet without swaying. "What did I ever do to you to make you hate me so much!?"

"Why did you follow me?" Loki sneered.

"To make sure you don't do something stupid." Jane confidently said, unafraid. "I couldn't sleep and I saw you walk away and I had to follow you. I know you heard things but—"

"Leave me alone!" Loki hissed, clenching his fists.

"Loki, just listen!"

"You're just like him and the others! You don't think I'm capable of handling the truth!? I mourned at the funeral! I asked him where she constantly was and he lied!"

"Loki, he's your brother—"

"HE'S NOT MY BROTHER!" Loki shouted, his voice diminishing into harsh breaths. "He could have told me! He should have! I had rights… I had a right to know!"

"I know you do, Loki." Jane said softly. "And we're sorry for not telling you."

"You could have also told me, but you didn't!" Loki glared, crying. "Do I look like I deserve this!?"

"No one deserves this."

"Then why?" Loki embraced himself, hair falling to his face. "Why must he break the truth that way? Can he not trust me? Do you not trust me?"

"Loki there's a reason we didn't say anything, because it's not our business." Jane stepped forward and Loki backed away.

She stopped trying the moment she began.

"Thor did what he had to do and you have to talk to him about it."

"And then what?!" Loki sneered, turning away. "And have him play with my emotions and lie to me again!"

"You don't understand—"

"I understand perfectly well, Lady Jane." He turned back to her. "My brother doesn't think I can handle it. He keeps underestimating my capabilities to think and do things! You saw him hours ago."

"Loki—"

"Just because what happened to me is traumatizing, doesn't mean I can't be of help. Why does he coddle me like child and think I cannot do things on my own!? I am so sick and tired of being treated so blindly by everyone! I'm not weak!"

"You're not!" Jane shouted equally. "You're not weak Loki, and you've been the strongest person I know with what happened to you!"

"You're lying."

"I'm not." Jane answered. "Compared to Thor, your strengths are different. Thor is sweet, kind, caring and a big guy but he has flaws like everyone else. His arrogance and his way of thinking is different."

"Why are you telling me this?" Loki glared at her. "Just go back to Thor and leave me alone!"

"I'm not saying this to compare the two of you."

"Then why can you not leave me be!?" Loki insulted. "If you're not back, Sif might steal him away from you."

"I love Thor, and I'm not losing him that easily. Sif won't do that, she's loyal to him." Jane confidently spoke. "But Loki, you have unimaginable intelligence and you're a good person by heart, despite your insults and that rumored silver-tongue of yours. You're strong in ways that you don't know."

Loki stood there, dumbstruck as she listened to her.

She sounded like Frigga when she lectured them as kids; maybe he was just saying that because he missed her.

It still hurts.

"Anyone else who could have been in your position would either be dead or broken. But you're struggling to fight despite everything that's happened to you." Jane watched Loki stare at her. "You're not weak, and you're certainly not mad."

Loki stayed silent.

"Okay, maybe you're a little insane. But that's just you."

Jane added and it caused Loki to smile accidentally.

"See! Look at you!"

Loki immediately stopped what he was unconsciously doing.

"No one that I know would be able to smile like that if they were in your position." Jane said to him. "You've held out this long and I think it's high time that Thor saw that you're not just his baby brother like he keeps thinking. Even he needs proof of that and he's still willing to stand by your side even if you reject him. Thor's sorry, Loki, but its best if you hear it from him."

"You're so annoying." Loki mumbled, tears still falling. "Mother wouldn't want Thor and I to fight."

"She wouldn't." Jane smiled sadly. "She loves you two too much."

"She really is gone, isn't she?" Loki's hands trembled. "All that time I looked for her in the Palace walls, she was already gone."

"Loki—" Jane walked forward and embraced him. "I'm so sorry, but know that she's watching out for you."

"I had no time to say goodbye." Loki rubbed his eyes. "And now she's somewhere in Valhalla."

"I'm so sorry." Jane pulled away, and stopped Loki from continuing to rub his eyes.

"I miss her."

"Listen Loki, we should go back. If Thor wakes up to find you gone, he'll end up crazy."

"I know." Loki sadly said. "But tell me, who was it that killed her."

"Loki this isn't necessary. Thor will stop him."

"I need to know, if Thor won't be able to tell me sooner, then I want you to be honest with me. Who was it? Was it Malekith?"

"No." Jane shook her head. "It was the other one, Kurse, I think."

"Is that so?" Loki looked lost in thought.

"No, Loki." Jane glared back at him. "I can see that look in your eyes; it was the same one Thor was giving when he vowed to kill Malekith. Please don't do anything—"

"I won't. Not yet." Loki clenched his fists. "But they deserve to die. They don't deserve to live on this realm any longer, or for any other realm in that matter."

"Let's just go back to Thor."

"And then what?" Loki mumbled. "I don't think I can forgive him yet. I might accidentally hurt him or start an argument."

"That's only natural. Just talk—"

"How touching." A new voice said as Loki and Jane turned.

"It's a good thing you ran away from your brother, are you willing to give me the Aether in exchange for your life? Trickster?"
