So this chapter is kind of short. I will upload the next chapter on Friday, I promise that. This chapter basically solves last chapter.

"You made a mistake you know that right?" Pepper said quietly from the top of the stairs, making her presence known after witnessing the fight. Tony was still too stunned to speak.
Pepper slowly walked down the stairs and watched as Tony went to move to sit down. Still the look of utter hurt and shock plastered on his face.
"You think she means that?" he asks hesitantly.
"Right now? Yes. But in general? No. She's just angry. You didn't really let her explain her side of things. You just yelled at her." Pepper said calmly sitting beside him.
"I just don't want her to get hurt. I know SHIELD. I've been in the belly of that beast. I don't want her to get hurt, captured, or anything. I wished she told me. I feel so out of the loop."
"Well why didn't you say that?"
"I don't know… I just… she got so angry at me and I was angry and…"
"It's hard being a parent huh? Almost like being the girlfriend of Iron Man."
"Don't compare those two things. They are not the same."
"But they parallel. Whenever you're out being your alter ego I worry. But I know I have to trust you to keep yourself safe and make the right decisions. Maybe you should extend the same to Alyssa. She knows we both care about her very much. But I think when she was growing up; because she took after you in the brains department… she was trusted and was allowed to do what she wanted without having to think about people worrying about her. Someone saying that she's doing something that might endanger herself may be new to her." Pepper reasoned.
Tony nodded.
"Should I call?"
"Call in a few hours. You both need time to cool off."
"That stupid jerk face! How can he think he can make decisions about my life? Its not like he's the perfect role model!" I rant. Jemma Simmons looks at me sympathetically and Leo Fitz looks slightly scared. Not that I blame him I did come in here pretty pissed off and all he did was asked what was up.
"I understand how you feel Alyssa, my parents were not exactly thrilled when I said I was going to join a secret government agency." Simmons smiled.
"We're here for you, we know how you feel." Fitz assured me.
"I just wished he wouldn't tell me I couldn't. He worked with Fury before, he should trust I will be safe."
"What do you mean he worked with Fury before?" Fitz asked curiously.
"Long story. The point is, he yelled at me about my choices instead. I want him to trust me."
"Maybe your dad does trust you." Simmons shrugged. "Its everyone else he doesn't trust. That's what my dad told me."
"Are you saying I should listen to what he has to say?" I ask.
"Exactly." Fitz said as he nodded and Simmons followed suit. These two are so in sync its like there brains are connected by Wi-Fi.
"I'll think about it." I finalize and soon we are all theorizing about our new projects.
I walk into the SHIELD faculty and I am on my way to the lab when I am intercepted.
"Agent Williams." Director Fury stalks up to me. That guy is scary. Must be the Eyepatch.
"Since when am I an agent?" I ask him.
"Since Agent Barton put in a good reference. He said you proved yourself to make a fine agent. I have learned sometimes its best to just agree with Barton instead of fighting him. Besides, last time he told us to and I quote 'cut the crap and just make her an active agent already' we ended up with one of our top agents."
"Who was that?" I ask curiously, fully prepared to not get an answer.
"I believe you met Agent Romanoff." he answered. Wasn't expecting that.
"Wait… Romanoff? That was Barton?" I ask surprised. I didn't see that coming either.
"Barton brought her in to SHIELD instead of eliminating her. Against orders but it worked out well."
"Wow okay. Why are you telling me this? Isn't it classified or something?" I had to ask. I thought everything here was classified.
"Your level six. Barton insisted that too. Plus Barton would probably tell you anyhow. But there is someone here that would like to speak to you." He finalized.
"Alright. Lead the way boss." I say following him.
We enter a room and I see none other than Tony sitting at the conference table.
"You got to be kidding." I mumble.
"Take a seat agent." Fury orders. I'm not stupid and do what he asks. "So apparently you too have some things to discuss. I hope you two know I have much bigger problems than your family problems. But as this apparently will affect Stark's support and membership of the Avengers and possibly Agent Williams work. Start working it out and let's come to a compromise."
"Alyssa, I'm sorry I yelled." Tony turned to me. "I shouldn't have done so, and I am sorry. I just wished you had told me you were working for SHIELD. I found out you changed jobs from Rhodey. I want you to be safe and not doing something dangerous. Leave the fighting to me, alright?" he asked.
"And I am sorry for yelling back. I don't hate you. I guess because you had worked with SHIELD before I thought you'd be okay with it. I promise I won't get myself into too much trouble."
"I want no trouble from you missy." Tony pointed at me.
"I'm your daughter. I make no promises."
"I want no trouble from either of you." Fury decided to butt in. "Now, everything clear here?"
We both nod and Fury leaves.
"That man terrifies me." I tell Tony.
"It's the eye patch." He claims.
