Later that evening Zara was in her chair fixing her makeup. She looked over at her laptop and opened Youtube looking up Triple H. She watched several videos. Coming to his return from his first quad injury in 2002. She sat thinking. Why didn't she remember but, every time she saw this clip she had thoughts that she may have seen it before. 'What's with the water spitting?' she thought. She shook her head and headed to put on her dress.
She put on a sexy black bodycon dress that accentuated her cleavage. She had found it in her clothing with some sexy black heels. With her new pixie haircut, she got on the way home that day she looked like a movie star. She looked over in the corner and saw the cane and, scrunched up her nose. She hadn't tried to walk on her own yet. But, she was so much stronger since Joe and Hunter had been helping her.
She rolled over and grabbed the cane. Nervous because she did have short heels on. If she couldn't talk to him maybe she could at least walk to him. She pulled herself from the chair. Grabbing the cane. She steadied herself. Feeling like a baby deer. She took a few steps stumbling getting frustrated and tried over and over till she was fully walking with the cane assist. She looked in the mirror and smiled. She did it. Walking slowly to the living room she was determined to walk in the heels even if just long enough for him to see her. She felt pretty for the first time. Entering the living room Hunter was looking out the window. She tapped the cane on the wall. Hunter turned around and his eyes grew wide.
Walking over he was shocked, "You're walking." At second glance, his eyes went to other things. "And...you look...wow!" Hunter looked her up and down. "Damn. Ummm...ok. We should go. Want your chair just in case?" She shook her head no giggling seeing him checking out her boobs. She shook her finger at him and motioned for him to look at her eyes not her boobs. "I wasn't." She looked at him scolding. "Ok, I was. But, shit woman. I told you I think you're pretty." He chuckled, "Ok... you're hot." The way he looked at her made her shake her head confused. A memory maybe? He was not sure what the look on her face meant. "Something wrong?" She waved it off and put her arm through his for support.
At the restaurant, Hunter couldn't keep his eyes off her. He really always did think she was pretty but, tonight she looked amazing. Maybe it was that she seemed more relaxed and confident. She got wide eyed and pointed like she remembered something. She handed him papers from her new purse. He had taken her to get a new one for a late birthday gift a few days before. He took them looking them over, "New story?"
She shook her head no. She pointed to it.
"Is this? Huh? It is. This is a storyline script. Did you send this to Vince?" She nodded yes. She had made a timeline and storyboard outline as well. "This is a great concept. Zara, this is really great. I can't wait to read it all." She handed him her board. "You did it for me? Why?"
She wrote again, "Because, I needed to show you I can. You do so much for me. You never had to do any of this. I want you to see I'm trying to get better. My memory isn't coming back so far. I want to try to build a new life now."
He read it and looked up at her. "A new life?" He rubbed his beard. "I know you're trying. I guess I sort of feel bummed about that. I like taking care of you and having you around. I'm afraid you won't need me anymore." He was obviously upset at the thought.
Handing the board over, "I will still need you. I don't have anyone else and, you're my friend." She smiled at him.
Once they ate they headed back home. She ended up pulling off her shoes to walk better. Once inside Hunter turned on RAW. "Want to watch with me?" She nodded yes. He leads her over to his chair and pulled her into his lap. She looked a little surprised. "Don't give me that look. I want to snuggle."
He smirked his sexy smile at her. There was that feeling again. She looked in his eyes confused. "What? Z, are you ok? You have been doing that all night." She shook her head yes and laid her head on his shoulder to watch TV.
A promo clip of Hunter's upcoming return popped on the show. She just kept watching mesmerized as it showed his injury and working out to recover. She saw it before but, this time it was different. Zara grabbed her new phone he got her and typed in his name again on YouTube. She clicked on his old promo music for The Game. When the music hit and showed his image her eyes got wide. She jumped and looked back at him like she saw a ghost. Zara sat up straight and grabbed his face hard looking in Hunter's eyes. She looked back down watching as the video played. Hunter tried to calm her. "Babe, what's wrong? You're scaring me."
She clicked on his 2002 return video. Once he hit the stage she pushed herself up off his lap. Standing she felt herself shaking slightly. She couldn't stop looking at him as the video played. She couldn't catch her breath and handed him the phone. "H" Hunter realized that was what H was. H was him all this time. Pointing to the video and then to his chest. "Yes, baby that's me. You know that. You saw this with Shawn and Kevin." He stood up grabbing her shoulders to look at him. "What's wrong?"
She looked over at the video from where Hunter laid it on the chair arm. In the video when he got up on the ring mat and spit the water in the air she looked at him. Signing to him in short signs so he would understand. "I know you." She pointed at the video then to him. Then pointed at her temple. She pretended to spit the water in the air. She fell into his arms and hugged him.
"Baby, you know who I am? Did you remember me? My 2002 return?" She shook her head yes. Taking the phone she showed him all of his character changes she remembered. DX with Shawn, DX as him the leader, The Game, Evolution, and the 2002 return were her favorite.
She signed, "I remember you." She looked down at the Evolution part and frowned. She shook her head.
"You don't like the Evolution me huh? No, I figured so. I was a playboy back then. It was just part of the show." She rolled her eyes and showed him the DX return clip with him simulating oral sex in the promo. "Ok, maybe I was like that. But, I grew out of it." He laughed. She knew better. He was always flirting with her just like his persona on TV.
She walked slowly over to the window using the chair for support. Thinking if he was like that in real life, their time together would change once he went back to work. She worried those other girls were what he liked. She was not some super fit and ultra glam girl. Zara was average build, a little extra curves, and had her flaws. She took her phone note app, "Are you still like that?"
"What? Why?" She frowned at him. "You jealous?" He teased going over to her wrapping his arms around her from behind. "I think you are. Z wants to play the Game." He teased.
She started to get embarrassed and looked away from him but, still let him hold her. She threw her phone on the chair next to her pouting. "Why do you care? That's just TV you know. I was a little bit that way but, it's not that big a deal is it?" She signed she hated him. "What I don't understand that sign?"
She picked up her phone and wrote, "I HATE YOU!" She half smiled and pouted.
He smirked, "Why would you hate me?" He pulled her closer and swayed with her in his arms.
She grabbed her phone and wrote, "Because, you made me fall in love with you. Just like in the books I wrote. You big jerk!"
Hunter took the phone from her and tossed it on the chair. "I think it's the other way around. I think you made me fall in love with you." He reached up and touched her chin. "I am The Game and I guess it is time I show you just who the hell I am." He turned her to face him.
Zara's eyes darkened seductively. She definitely remembered hearing him say that on the show. Her fingertips went to his lips. Her eyes begging him to kiss her. Hunter ran his lips over her neck and whispered to her. "Zara, I want to give you something you will never forget." He traced his lips over her cheek to her lips and kissed her slowly and with passion. Zara let her weight fall into his embrace. Somehow she knew she had never felt this happy before. She didn't remember what it was like to kiss. So to her, it was her first. She loved him and he was her world.
