(Eterna Forest)

The trees swayed in rhythm with the wind which gently shook their beautiful, colourful leave filled branches. It was a warm relaxing day with the Pokémon that inhabited this place dancing around, playing, flying or even nibbling away at their food. The Enterna forest beamed with life of all sorts and one young girl made sure to take her time in order to experience nature's beauty, and of course what better place to do this than in one of the largest trees in the forest. This young girl's name was Iris also known as the 'In Training Dragon Master' or so that's what she liked to call herself.

Iris lay on one of the lower branches of the massive oak tree, her head rested on a smaller branch which was originated from the larger and wider one. The girl's hair was in its typical hair style which wavered along with the leaves in the breeze. Her clothes consisted of a blue sleeveless top on top of which was a white jacket with light blue sleeve windups as well as a blue collar and zip. A matching turquoise bow sat on her head. She wore the exactly same leggings as once before. She also had a pure white miniskirt. Her sapphire socks peaked out from beneath her white trainers that had blue sides and slightly yellowish shoe laces that matched the ends of her leggings.

A few minutes later Iris's eye lids flickered as she opened her chocolate eyes and yawned, her arms flying up into the air as she attempted to stretch herself. The teen looked around as if searching for something but after hearing a quiet curious voice she looked up at the higher branch of the tree. A small dragon type sat on the branch above looking down at the girl, a little worried.

"Oh good morning Axew, I'm fine don't worry." She exclaimed, her partner's face lit up instantly as he went back to eating his apple.

"Only a dream," Iris mumbled under her breath as she sighed loudly and looked up into the sky.

"Hey Axew, I just had a dream," The girl's voice was quiet but clear and it immediately caught her Pokémon's attention.

The young dragon popped the last bit of its ruby apple into its large jaws before crawling across the swaying branch, right before dropping into its master's lap.

"Axew," It answered happily ready to listen to the girl's story.

Iris smiled and patted him on the head gently before focusing her attention back to the beautiful blue sky. The girl took a deep breath, closed her eyes and begun explaining.

"We were fighting at the championships our opponent was Lance the amazing dragon user." Axew rested against the girl's legs, listening to her every calm word, in a way the little dragon knew how this story would end, but even though, he enjoyed listening to the girl's slightly saddened tone.

"The battle was a draw so far and both of us only had one Pokémon each, I chose you as my last choice while Lance chose his powerful and graceful Dragonite. The battle begun and it wasn't easy, the match lasted over an hour and both of you were exhausted, and still you tried with all your might. Just then unexpectedly Dragonite caught you with his immense tail. I shouted and screamed telling him to let you go, I tried to give up but the words couldn't come out. Dragonite flew high into the sky with you and as he did, it begun to rain, cold, wet, drops of rain landed on the field and you were nowhere to be seen. However I still kept screaming my voice out, hoping you would come back, then just like that, I saw you, my little dragon, you were falling through the sky at an incredible speed, face down, I didn't want to believe it but in my heart I knew that was the end. Just as you were about to hit the ground, a figure, a boy with jet black hair and a cap flew off the sidelines and skidded along the dirt, cushioning your fall. You were safe. The boy stood up holding you. Axew you flew out of his arms and cantered towards me, I embraced you and begun to cry tears of joy. As I stood up to thank your savior though, a small yellow rodent jumped onto his shoulder, they waved goodbye. I suddenly made out his features and remembered who he was, I tried to stop him, I tried to scream for him to stop, but just like before no words came out and as I held my arm out an inferno blew up. The blaze circled the boy, but he wasn't scared, his eyes never came off me as he lowered his waving hand and showed me one last smile before the fire closed in and begun to devour him from within the flame. All I could do was whisper his name.

"Ash'"

With that the girl opened her eyes; a single tear skidded down her cheek.

Axew stared at her, the once playful and energetic girl, he tried to comfort her but deep down he too felt the urge to cry but even so he knew he had to be strong for the sake of his master and friend. The small creature stood up and walked across the girl's tummy, his tiny paws leaving slight creases, he then jumped into her hair and ended up near her shoulder. Iris turned her head around to her partner, his large smile reflected in her chocolate eyes.

The smile warmed her heart up slightly and she couldn't help but return the grin right back at the dragon. She nodded her head and rose up.

"Alright, let's go Axew!" She called before grabbing onto a vain hanging down the tree and surging away into the distance.

(Route 210, near Celestic Town)

"Tracey, that's awesome" The voice of a young boy exclaimed over the sound of the car engine and the resonance of a sketching pencil.

An older boy sitting at the back of a car with shoulder length blue hair and a green sun hat smiled at his friend, "You really think so?" he asked while scratching the back of his head in embarrassment.

The other boy nodded, his auburn hair wavering in the wind.

"It's amazing how can you draw like that?" The younger boy asked as he leaned over to the blue haired teenager.

Lying on the older boy's thighs was a drawing pad; a small shaded in rodent was at the center of the page sleeping soundly on another's legs. The mouse had a small tuft of fur poking out over its right ear and its thunderbolt shaped tail was coiled around its petite body.

The younger boy stared at the picture then at his legs, back at the picture and back to his legs.

"They really do look alike" He commented once again as he stroked the yellow mouse that lay sound asleep on his knees; the mouse that was portrayed in Tracey's sketch.

"Hey look Ritchie it's a group of wild Shellos," Tracy exclaimed as he pointed on the emerald grass by the road where a large family of pink Shellos roamed freely.

Richie allowed himself to take his eyes of the amazing sketch of his friend and turned his head around before gasping at the amazing sight before him. His chocolate eyes gleamed at the sight of the small slugs and even Sparky forced himself to stand on his hind legs to observe the Sinnoh native Pokémon.

"Yes, they are quite something aren't they?" Laughed Professor Oak as he stared at the teens' expressions via the rare-view mirror.

Delia nodded in response a wide smile spread across her lips.

Suddenly a harsh wind blew across the valley, stripping a few older leaves off the large trees on each side of the road. The passengers of the car all panicked slightly; Richie grabbed a tight hold on his pikachu, Tracy onto his sketchpad and Delia attempted to hold down her large straw hat, only the professor wasn't fazed by the sudden ambush however he did decide to halt the car by the side of the road for safety measures.

Gradually the wind died down leaving behind nothing more than a gently breeze.

"That was harsh, is everyone alright?" The professor asked looking at Delia who sighed before taking her arms off the huge hat, a sunny smile returning to her slightly pale lips.

The two adults then turned around to look at the two boys; Richie was stroking Sparky who curled back down in his lap as if nothing ever happened, typical of the yellow rodent. Tracy on the other hand lifted his hands up to adjust his new red headband; at the same time he tried to push back all his green hair from his eyes.

Just then two large birds a Staraptor and Pidgeot flew above their heads, slicing through the atmosphere with their huge, powerful wings causing another slightly smaller hurricane. Everyone in the car bend down at the same time allowing the wind to pass through. As each of them regained their posture, and the adults once again checked to the back, they heard the sound of pages flicking. Tracy looked down to see the pages from his sketchpad flicking backwards due to the impact of the wind. The teenage boy halted the pages by forcing his hand in through a gap and forcing the sketch down. While he did this Professor Oak turned the key in order to start the engine.

"It isn't very often that you see a Pidgeot, a Kanto native with a Staraptor in Sinnoh that's for sure and it's almost impossible to find them free on such incredibly high levels," Professor Oak explained but he didn't hear a response not even a single question from Tracy who always found something to ask.

The professor turned to Delia only to see her staring back at the two boys, her smile was gone, and the old man thought he even saw a tear appear in her eye. He forced himself to look back and as he did he looked at where all the eyes were staring. The sketch pad. On a page right in the middle of the pad was a sketch, a gracefully drawn picture of a pikachu, however it wasn't Sparky and he knew it just as well as everyone else. The picture was of a pikachu that stood proudly beside a bowl of ketchup, a cap was placed on his head, one which leaned over to the Pokémon's right side. It was clear just by looking at the little guy's eyes that it wasn't just a normal pikachu, this Pokémon was powerful and it belonged to none-other than Ash Ketchum, the boy that was betrayed and the boy that supposedly died six years ago.

(West of Route 210)

Up in the huge trees deep in a nearby, unnamed, forest on the large, stern, branches sat the two birds that caused the previous commotion in the car. Within a few seconds following an incredibly loud 'wooshing' sound another creature joined them this time, it was a large shine Noctowl.
