Jin looked excitedly at Hiro, as he began to explain, "To counter the Chidori you're going to have

to learn a pretty simple technique, that is much harder to execute than it is to learn."

"I'm ready." Jin said enthusiastically.

Hiro took a couple of steps back and flipped through some handsigns before focusing chakra in his right hand.

He turned to Jin as his hand was surrounded by crackling blue chakra, "This is the Chidori, and this..." Hiro focused on his other hand and soon it was surrounded by an orb of wind, "will be what u will use against it."

Jin looked in awe, but held himself back in order for Hiro to tell him what to do.

Hiro, impressed by his disciple's restraint, smiled before saying, "This is similar to the last technique but requires you to focus more on surrounding your entire hand instead of just outside the surface of your fist."

Hiro looked down to his hands and grabbed the chidori with the air-covered hand and showed Jin. He said, "You're going to have to grab his hand, but you'll work on your speed so don't worry about that, and then the air chakra will contain his technique."

Jin nodded excitedly, and stood up ready to try. Hiro quickly held up his hand, signaling for him to stop.

"Before you start, we're gonna spar." Hiro said, maliciously.

Jin looked scared for a second, but steeled himself before saying, "Ok, let's do it."

Jin got into a fighting stance and waited for Hiro to do the same, but he just stood there, unmoving.

"Are you ready?" Jin asked, curiously.

Hiro nodded absent-mindedly and Jin clenched his fists angrily before jumping at Hiro.

Swinging his fist, it seemingly passed through him. Jin fell forward and almost landed on his face, but caught himself and turned around to sweep Hiro's legs out from under him. But yet again it seemingly passed through him.

"What the hell!" Jin said, jumping away from Hiro.

Hiro just continued standing where he was, saying, "You're gonna have to try harder than that."

Jin focused some chakra outside the bottoms of his feet and pushed off the ground, reaching heights 50 feet above Hiro.

Impressed by his disciples progress, Hiro waited to see what he would do next.

Jin placed his hands above him, focusing more air chakra in them. Rapidly falling, he shouted, "Plummeting Air Slash!" As he came closer and closer to the ground, he sped up and began to spin. The air chakra around his legs grew more fierce and loud.

Striking Hiro, a huge dust cloud arose and Jin skittered away, smirking. The smirk soon faded into one of awe and disbelief.

Standing before him was Hiro, who hadn't moved from his spot but had merely lifted one arm to take the impact.

"Geez, how are you so strong?" Jin exclaimed, his mouth gaping.

Hiro smiled and said, "A lot of training and hard work. But forget about that, im impressed you got me to use one arm."

Jin rubbed the back of his head sheepishly and looked at the ground.

Hiro smiled at his apprentice before removing his shirt and saying, "Now you try and defend from me."

Jin gazed upon Hiro's chest and saw the hundreds if not thousands of scars that covered his torso. Hiro saw him staring before saying, "The road to strength is dotted with challenges and dangers that you will have to overcome in order to achieve the level that I have, this body is proof of that."

Jin nodded, determination evident in his eyes, "Im ready."

At the same time, Sakura and Ino walked towards the training fields, chatting about the upcoming tournament.

/

"Sasukes definitely going to win the Chuunin exams!" Sakura exclaimed excitedly.

Ino sighed, "The competition seems pretty stiff, especially the ones from Kumo."

Sakura shook her head, "Sasuke wont lose to anyone."

Ino gazed out at the training fields before them, catching a glimpse of some action in the distance.

"Hey Sakura, wanna go check out that?" Ino asked, looking to her friend.

"What?" Sakura answered, absent mindedly.

Ino gritted her teeth before saying, "Just come on." And dragging her reluctant friend with her.

Reaching the training field they could finally see exactly what had been going on.

Jin stood, clutching his arm, blood streaming from multiple wounds, facing a blond haired, bare chested warrior wearing a scarf.

"Is that... Jin?!" Sakura exclaimed, surprised at her team mates condition.

"And, Hiro!" Said Ino.

The two kunoichi looked at each other momentarily before running out to break up the fight between the two ninja.

Hiro noticed the two running towards them and returned to a more relaxed position, and went to go retrieve his shirt. Jin looked relieved and dropped to his knees, gasping for breath.

Sakura ran to Jin and knelt down by him, "Jin are you okay? What happened?" She asked, worry eveident in her voice.

Jin shrugged it off and said, "Hiro-sensei has been training me in preparation for the Chuunin exams."

Ino looked over at Hiro, and noticed his chest. "Hiro, how did you get those scars?"

Hiro looked in her direction and said, "Growing up alone isn't easy especially when you have to be strong to survive. Good work Jin, keep practicing what I taught you and you should have no problem making Chuunin." Hiro disappeared in a flash and left the three genin by their selves.

"What a mysterious man." Sakura commented. Ino nodded in agreement before turning her attention to Jin.

"What were you guys doing to get you so injured?" Ino asked.

Jin looked to Ino and smiled, "I was defending from Hiro's attacks. And using all of my power to do so still resulted in me being in this state. And the funny thing is, it still felt like he wasn't even close to trying, I never saw a single bead of sweat on his forehead."

Ino gazed out in the direction that Hiro left in. Where does he always go? She thought.

Jin stood up and said, "I think i'm going to go to the hospital now." Before immediately falling over unconscious.

The Chuunin Exams

/

Ayyyy I finally finished the chapter! Its been over a year haha. I got bored of writing about the training before the exams so next chapter will just skip to the actual exams. Sorry if the writing isnt great, im kind of out of practice. The only reason I finished this was because I was inspired by the 16th opening of Naruto Shippuden which I think is really good, especially the scene where Naruto is running and it shows all the different changed he gone through as he was growing up. Enough rambling, I hope you enjoyed the chapter and continue reading.
