All right, I apologize first off for not updating since January, but anyone who knows me knows that it's a common problem with me. I'm trying very hard to break the habit, but sometimes you get stuck in a rut. Secondly, is being strange so in some areas the text is smaller than in others.

Part 12: Love and Breakfast

When Tony woke again, he felt some of his strength restored. Loki, who was still sleeping, hadn't moved from his side. He was left to wonder only momentarily just how long the two had slept before JARVIS updated him, letting him know that it was 8am and the weather was excellent. He curled up to the god beside him, not smiling and not frowning, but simply thinking about the situation. When had they crossed from master and pet to friends, and possibly even lovers anyways? That was when he noticed a recently opened pair of green eyes watching him, a fond smile on the man's pale

"Didn't realize you were awake," Tony mumbled, his tone indifferent.

"Didn't you Pet?" Loki asked with a chuckle, causing the smaller man to furrow his brow, confusion clear in his expression.

"Pet?" And Loki caught right onto Tony's confusion. He pulled the man back down to him.

"Just because I admit that I love you does not mean that you no longer belong to me." Loki ran a hand through his hair. "As a matter of fact, I think that simply reaffirms it." Tony scoffed.

"So you just dump your belongings wherever you please when you decide you no longer have use of them? That seems sort of shitty to me."

"Indeed I've been a terrible master. But I'm taking you back now, and I promise to make it up to you," Loki replied with a whisper. He was pleased when Tony leaned up to place a kiss on his cheek, and then rested his head on the god's chest. This was how things were supposed to be. Tony and himself laying curled up with each other in bed, having cute little spats that amounted to nothing. Well, initially this particular one had not amounted quite to nothing, however, it had been resolved, so as far as Loki was concerned, there was no longer any need to dwell. After a while, Tony spoke up again.

"So, does that mean we'll be going back to your apartment?" Loki chuckled and shook his head.

"I think it'll be best if we stay here my love."

"We?" Tony's brow furrowed, and Loki laughed.

"Yes, we. I realize now that I am just as detrimental to your health as your irritating little friends. Therefore, I am more than willing to sacrifice my sanity and stay by your side for as long as you desire to have me around." Tony simply nodded.

Interrupted again, Loki thought to himself before the door had even opened. Not many people could sneak up on him, but anyone would have felt Thor coming, never mind heard him. Apparently being the God of Thunder meant you had to be loud in every aspect of your life. And… that was when Loki's mind entered the gutter, displaying images he preferred not to see.

"Brother!"

"Thor, you're loud enough to wake the dead," Loki replied, rubbing his hand over his face.

"I'm simply happy to see you."

"Yes, and I will be happy if I do not develop a headache from your enthusiasm." Tony groaned.

"Will both of you please shut up?" Loki's hand went up to Tony's hair, stroking it in an effort to appease him.

"I'm sorry love." Loki leaned down to steal a real kiss from Tony, their very first. It was passionate, though free of tongue and teeth, as the god believed that he still needed to be gentle with his pet.

"Well, when you two are ready, breakfast is waiting downstairs. Steve has been busy slaving over the stove for everyone." Those words made Tony grin.

"Please tell me he's-"

"-wearing the apron," Thor finished, matching Man of Iron's grin.

"This I gotta see." He was up in an instant and heading for the closet to get some decent clothes. Loki was rather annoyed by Thor. After all, Tony was now exerting energy he shouldn't be. While the man's enthusiasm was refreshing, what if he ended up bedridden because of Thor? The fool should have stayed well away for a week and allowed Loki to take care of Tony. Of course, he was too dense to think of such things, having a one-track mind when it came to food and humor. So what happened next surprised him.

"Per request of Bruce, and I'm sure Loki will agree as well, you're to be using a wheelchair until you've recovered." he addressed Tony as the mortal exited the closet. He would have argued with Thor, but one look at Loki's expression told him that it wasn't an argument he was going to win. Once Thor exited the room, he let out a sigh, then glanced at the god who was still lingering.

"Do I really have to?"

"Tony, you were hooked up to an IV two nights ago, you pulled it loose, and you've had little to eat since then. You're still malnourished, you're deathly thin… Yes, you need to use the wheelchair." Yep, he definitely couldn't win this argument. Instead of being his usual stubborn self, he settled down into the wheelchair that Thor had left behind, a bit surprised when Loki suddenly started pushing him. The god must have changed into simple clothing while Tony was in the closet.

Upon entry into the kitchen, both Loki and Tony burst out laughing. Steve was standing there at the counter, wearing an apron with Great Britain's flag on it.

Oh the irony!

So, how was it? Love it, hate it? Hopefully I'll be back soon with another update! Stay awesome everyone!
