Hey guys! Here's the new chapter! Before you start I just wanted to say that were getting to the end of the story:(. I'm really bummed in a way but there are still a few chapters left. ENJOY!

Gumball was in a huge panic. He couldn't find Darwin anywhere. It was almost 3:00 in the morning and he was nowhere to be found. He went to check on him after he had an argument with him earlier but when he went to see him he wasn't on the bed. Without trying to wake anyone up, he began looking around the house. He looked in the bathroom, kitchen and even the backyard. Darwin was nowhere to be seen. Gumball sat on the couch in the living room and began to think of what he should do. He didn't want to wake up his parents in the middle of the night and make them panic. He also didn't want to call his sister to help him since they had a fight earlier before. As he thought some more he got a good idea on where he could be.

The last think he wanted to do was sneak out of the house in the middle of the night but he didn't want to wait until morning. He then quietly got up from the couch, slowly opened the door and then closed it. He knew what he was doing was wrong by leaving his house in the middle of the night but he was doing it for Darwin. As he was walking he began to think maybe he wasn't there but he knew he had to at least check. But if he wasn't then what was he going to do next? He walked down the sidewalk, trying to not think about how dark it was when finally made it to the place where he thought he could be, the park. He thought that he might be there since Darwin didn't know any other place in town that well. He entered the park and then began to look around. It was hard to see anything since the only source of light was from the street lights. He began looking around when he thought he could see something in the distance. As he got closer he could see it was Darwin sitting in the bench alone looking around. Gumball sighed in relief. Darwin looked over to see Gumball walking towards him. He then sat down on the bench next to Darwin.

"How did you know where I was?" Darwin asked startled. Gumball was actually surprised himself that he found him so quickly but he changed the subject.

That doesn't matter; don't you know how dangerous it is to be here so late?" Gumball said furiously. He then noticed that Darwin looked bothered about something

"I'm sorry I snuck out" Darwin said disappointed. Gumball then felt guilty for yelling at him.

"I'm sorry for yelling at you I was just freaked, I didn't want you to get hurt." Gumball explained.

"I just didn't want to be at home so I decided to leave." Darwin explained. Gumball then remembered about what happened about the things he said earlier that day.

"Look I'm sorry about everything I said before; do you want to talk about it? Gumball asked. Darwin sighed and looked over at him.

"I just feel like everyone's trying to force me to remember but no matter how hard I try I just can't, I feel like a failure." Darwin said looking down. Gumball never felt guiltier in his life. He had no idea the kinds of pressures he had put on Darwin since it happened.

"No it's not your fault you shouldn't blame yourself for it" Gumball said apologetically. . "I'm sorry if we put a lot of pressure on you to remember, just take your time." Darwin looked at Gumball and saw how sincere he was for everything. He then smiled.

"It's okay, I'm sorry for running away." Darwin said giving him a hug.

"It's okay but you better not sneak out like this ever again." Gumball warned jokingly.

"Well we better get home or else we'll get in trouble and you don't want to see our mom get mad." Gumball said getting up from the bench.

"Is it that bad when our mom is mad?" Darwin asked curiously.

"Yes and we better go now" Gumball said as they both left the park. When they both got home Gumball quietly opened the door and they both went inside the house and into their rooms.

Later that day, Gumball was sitting on the couch watching TV while his parents were out shopping and Darwin was asleep upstairs. Anais then came down the stairs.

"Hey can we talk?" She asked coming down the stairs.

"Sure" Gumball said turning off the TV. "What's up?"

"So I wanted to ask you something…" Anais said sitting down on the couch. Gumball noticed that she had an annoyed look on her face.

"What?" Gumball asked concerned.

"Why did you guys sneak out last night?" Anais said with a slight worried and annoyed tone. Gumball was surprised. He didn't see her when Gumball and Darwin snuck into the house. He was actually embarrassed in a way.

"Oh you saw us..." Gumball said sheepishly..

"Yeah don't you know how dangerous it is to sneak out in the middle of the night?!" Anais yelled. Gumball then began getting annoyed himself.

"Well I'm sorry but I had too get Darwin" Gumball explained. "At least I'm helping no thanks to you" He was irritated at the fact she was lecturing him when she hadn't helped at all. Anais then got up from the couch.

"Ugh this again, you know what never mind" Anais said impatiently as she was going up the stairs.

"No you know what I've had it with you ignoring Darwin all the time" Gumball said angrily. He was finally fed up with her bad attitude.

"Why do you care?" Anais asked bitterly.

"Because Darwin keeps asking about you" Gumball said calmer. His anger then started becoming sadness. "Can you please stop ignoring him? He's already been through enough" Anais took notice of his sadness but then quickly ignored it.

"Well I really don't feel like talking about it right now?" Anais said.

"That's what you always say and I'm getting sick of hearing you say that, I want to know the truth" Gumball begged.

"What truth?"

"On why you keep ignoring him, I want to know why now!" Gumball said loudly.

'Fine you want to know why I don't talk to him? Well it's because I can't stop blaming myself for what happened." Anais said with tears in her eyes. Gumball was surprised but confused over what she said.

"What do you mean?" Gumball asked.

"It just hurts to see him this way and it's my fault so that's why I stay away." Anais said crying. Gumball then walked over to her and gave her a hug.

"How is it your fault?" Gumball asked still hugging her.

"I think he tripped over some shoes that I left on top of the stairs." Anais admitted hesitantly.

"Really?"

"Yes I left some shoes on top of the stairs and I forgot to put them away and he tripped over them, I found them on the ground later that day." Anais cried as she buried her face into Gumball's stomach. Gumball felt horrible. He didn't mean to make her cry like this but he was happy that they finally had a breakthrough.

"Don't blame yourself, it's not you fault." Gumball assured her. She then lifted her face.

"You're not mad?" Anais asked.

"No I'm not mad, in a way were all at fault in this" Gumball said chuckling. "I've been blaming my self for everything too"

"Why?" Anais asked.

"Well I mean I am the one who started fighting with him for a stupid reason; if I didn't keep fighting with him it wouldn't be like this." Gumball said. Anais then chuckled herself.

"I guess we should stop blaming ourselves, I'm sorry for not helping and yelling at you all the time" Anais said. Gumball smiled.

"It's okay" Gumball said. He then thought for a moment. "I may have a plan to fix this."
