Episode 12 – Where Is He?

After three days, Astrid knew that she needed to be realistic. If Coal Hill Academy was involved in Alasdair's disappearance then the likelihood of him coming back was nil. But, she just couldn't give up hope that he'd be okay. She knew that there was another possibility that he'd just left - she knew how much he loved traveling - but his T.A.R.D.I.S. wasn't even close to fully grown yet so that didn't seem very likely.

Astrid had had one of her customer's compare her behavior to that of a parent hoping for their missing child to return safely but she personally thought that that was a ridiculous analogy!

Astrid knew it had been a bit of an odd idea but she'd ended up going around and getting the dresser for Alasdair's clothes - it was the same size and design as hers but his was black and hers was white - if the color was really a big deal to him, she'd switch with him - she liked both colors. It had been a little more complicated to find the 'shoe-case' in the right size but it had worked too - she figured he'd reorganize the converse and hi-top converse because while she'd tried setting them from lightest to darkest - some colors were equally light or dark so it had become a preference thing. And, the fact that the converse and hi-top converse were organized separately and not together only made sense. The 'shoe-case' - she wasn't actually sure if it was the wood itself or the finish that gave it that red look but it was nice. She'd also gotten two more dividers but they were staying folded and leaned up against the wall until Saturday when the next part of the delivery would be made - at which point, either Alasdair would be back and he could help with the reorganizing of the apartment or she'd get Charlie. Either way, she knew it was Friday - going on the fourth day of Alasdair being missing. She'd actually been surprised by how few e-books he'd bought when she'd checked - she'd have to let him know he could get more if he wanted too. She also had his laptop which Charlie had found still sitting at the teacher's desk in the Shakespearian literature class - she had a yellow sticky note on it listing the other Cake Mania game and other three Diner Dash games that were available, in addition to a rather humorous series of games that Charlie recommended called Chicken Invaders.

The only problem with Astrid doing all this was simply that Alasdair was still missing and she was slowly driving herself bat-shit crazy worrying about him!

Author's Note 1: I know, this is about half the length of the last Astrid chapter but just like then, there just isn't that much going on for her because 'slowly driving herself bat-shit crazy'.

Author's Note 2: And, just for clarity, for those who've read Episode's 10 and 12 but not 9 and 11, you're missing out on Alasdair's POV! I know I've been uploading his and Astrid's chapters together but you're missing out by skipping his POV!

Author's Note 3: The games on the sticky note are Cake Mania 3, Diner Dash 2: Restaurant Rescue, Diner Dash: Flo on the Go, Diner Dash: Hometown Hero, Chicken Invaders, Chicken Invaders: The Next Wave, and Chicken Invaders: Revenge of the Yolk.

Author's Note 4: And, just to remind folks of something that I think I've already said, this story will not end with Chapter 13! This is not the Tegan Harkness Chronicles, so it does not go by that rule!
