I'm really sorry that I haven't updated in a long time. I have been really busy. First year of college ended and then my parents made me get a job. So I now work over nights at Wal-Mart. It is long and tiring, and leaves me with not a lot of time for anything else. Also, I was working on this chapter, I saved it and later when I got back on, it was gone. My whole chapter 12 disappeared. So for awhile I was upset and lost my enthusiasm.
Oh my gosh, I totally forgot about Sparky! When I was first thinking about this story I remembered Sparky, but some how I forgot.
Also, I have now taken some things out and put new things in. Please reread, also enjoy.
"I should go after them," Dr. Tezla said as he passed around the room that he was in.
"And what would that accomplish?" Gig asked as he floated around the room.
"It would be better than sitting here and doing nothing. They are out there and getting ready to go up against the Silencerz. I should be doing something," Dr. Tezla said angrily.
"Well, you need to make up your mind, because pacing around here is not going to help," Gig said.
"I'm going after them," Dr. Tezla said as walked towards his car.
"Hello," Sparky said as he approached Dr. Tezla.
"You're still here?" Dr. Tezla asked a little shocked. Normally Monkey went everywhere with his robot, so Dr. Tezla was shocked to find him still here.
"Hello," Sparky said again as he approached Dr. Tezla's car.
"Where do you think you're going?" Dr. Tezla demanded.
"I think he wants to come with us?" Gig said as he flew towards the other robot.
"What makes you think that you're coming?" Tezla demanded.
"You need me," Gig said simply as he waited by the car.
"Fine," he grumbled as he got into his car.
"Vert?!" Nolo asked in pure shock. "Vert Wheeler?"
"Yes?" Vert asked confused. "Do I know you?"
"I'm Nolo, Nolo Pasaro," he said.
"Sorry but I don't know you," Vert said as he started to turn away.
"I was you're old leader. Remember the Teku!" Nolo was almost shouting now, and from what, he didn't know.
"Who?" Vert asked. "Look, I think that you have the wrong guy."
"Vert?" asked a girl as she ran up to Nolo's side. "It is you!" she shouted in joy as she seen his face.
"What?" asked Spinner very confused.
Everyone on the BF5 just shrugged their shoulders in reply, they were just as confused as the oldest Cortez brother.
"I'm sorry, but I have no idea who any of you guys are," Vert said, feeling very uncomfortable about the whole entire confrontation.
"We're your team members and friends," Kurt said as he approached his friend.
"Look, I think you have the wrong guy," Vert said as he walked away.
"What about Highway 35 and the Racing Realms?" Wylde shouted, losing his temper. He was beyond frustrated. "You have to remember them?"
"Vert, even if you don't know who these people are, I think that we should take this conversation somewhere else. We're drawing to much attention," Agura said as she glanced over at the new group of people.
"Attention: In 15 minutes, I need the Metal Maniacs, Speed String, Platinum, Bloody Speed, Racers XYZ, and Slip Stream to report to track 4 for the next race," came an announcement from a female voice.
"Attention: I need the for the following teams to report to track 2: Fanatics, Nasrin, StormRiders, Cool Ice, Red Hots, and Blazed Blues in 15 minutes," came the voice from the male announcer.
"Man, not now!" Wylde said.
"Please, Vert you have to listen to us," Lani said.
"Let our friends race and then let us explain how we know you," Karma said.
"Okay, as soon as the races are over you all explain everything," Vert said as he headed for the Saber to get his car out of the way.
"Do you think that he will listen?" Ashley asked.
"He'll listen, whether he believes us is another thing entirely," Tork said.
"We can't focus on that now," Kurt said, "we have races that we need to get to."
Everyone nodded their heads in agreement as they walked towards their own vehicles.
"Good luck," Monkey said as he waited with the others who were not going to race.
"Vert who are they?" Zoom asked as he moved the Chopper out of the way.
"Like I told them, I have no clue who they are," Vert said in defense. It was truly bugging him that he had no idea who these people were. They knew him, but he didn't know them. It frustrated him beyond belief.
"What do you think they want?" Spinner asked.
"They want Vert," Stanford said.
"Right," Spinner chuckled nervously.
"I guess now we wait until the races are over," Vert said as he leaned against the Saber, the events from a few moments ago weighing heavily on his mind. He watched as the team that came in second, from his race, and a few others pull up to where they had parked to wait.
"Sir, I'm afraid to report some bad news," said a Silencer.
"What sort of bad news," Johns demanded in a cold voice.
"Well, Vert's old friends found him," the Silencer said, afraid of what Johns would do to him. He had heard stories about the temper Johns had.
"Well I guess we'll just have to speed up our plans," Johns said. Three years it had taken him to get to the top. Three years for the Silencerz plans to come into action. Three years for them to plan out everything perfectly. And he was not going to let some college age kid screw everything up. Vert was the one they needed, the rest were disposable. "I guess that it is time to bring in our projects."
"Is that wise sir?" asked the SIlencer.
"What are you talking about?" roared Johns.
"I mean, why bring him in now? It might be better to wait and bring them all in after the races end," the guy said. "Bringing Vert in now will only cause the races to stop, and we need the races to continue."
"You're right," Johns said as he looked out of the large and very nice trailer window.
"You had better get your vehicles," Vert said as he watched the race that was taking place on track 2.
"Why?" Nolo demanded. This whole thing was frustrating him.
"When they're done, you're going to want to follow us," Vert said, his eyes never leaving the track.
The races were all over shortly. Both races ended with having the Metal Maniacs and Nasrin winning.
"Okay now we have to find Vert," Wylde said.
"They're over there," Porkchop said as he pointed towards the group of people waiting them all to finish with their races.
"So does anyone have any ideas on how we are going to convince Vert that we're his friends?" Kurt asked.
"We tell him what we know, and ask him to believe us," Tork said. He did not like where this was going.
"Follow us," Vert said as the two racing team pulled up next to their group. He quickly got into the Saber and took off across the Salt Flats.
Everyone followed Vert's lead and got in their cars and took off after him.
"Vert where are we going?" Agura asked.
"You're taking them to the Hub?" Sherman asked as he was looking at the map of the Salt Flats and Handler Corners.
"No, we're going to the garage," Vert said as he continued to drive towards their home.
"Vert this is crazy!" Zoom shouted.
"I agree, this is not the best course of action," Tezz said.
"Vert how do we know that we can trust them?" Stanford asked from the Splitwire. He had to ride with the Russian because the Reverb was still out of commision.
"Look, I know that this goes against a bunch of our rules, but we need some place to talk that nobody is going to be listening to us," Vert said.
"What, you think that someone is going to spy on us?" Zoom asked.
"I don't know, but I have a really bad feeling about this," Vert said as he spotted the Spectra Motor's garage.
The garage was big, but it was no where near the size needed to let everyone park inside. So everyone parked their cars in a circle outside of the garage and leaned against their vehicles. It was almost a complete circle except for an area large enough for one and half cars to fit.
"Okay so you got us out here?" Monkey said after about a few minutes of awkward silence.
"Why don't you guys start from the beginning," Vert said. To say he wasn't curious would be a lie.
"Fine," Lani said. "Everything started with Highway 35."
It took about an hour to fully explain everything to Vert. They explained from what Highway 35 was, to searching for the past three years for him. By the end of the explanation Vert's head was spinning along with the rest of the BF5, and most of the Teku and Metal Maniacs were frustrated.
"No!" Vert finally shouted shocking everyone. He couldn't take it any more. "Just stop, please stop. Look I don't know what to tell you, but I haven't done any of those things."
"Yes you did," Lani said.
"No I grew up here in Handler Corners, not California," Vert said. His mind was trying to come to grips with everything, but there seemed to be walls that blocked them.
Wylde had kept his temper in check the time, but now he lost it. "We just spent three years looking for you, and all you can say is I don't remember," Wylde shouted as he grabbed Vert's shirt.
"I didn't ask you to look for your missing friend!" Vert shouted back as he shoved Wylde away from him. Vert had no intention of getting violent, but everything was too much for him. He couldn't take it.
"Hey!" Tork shouted as he, Kurt and Taro pulled Wylde away from Vert.
"Calm down," Sherman told Vert as he and Zoom pulled him the opposite direction.
"We looked for you because you're our friend!" Wylde continued to shout.
"Calm down," Agura said as she stepped in between Wylde and Vert.
"This is so cool!" Spinner said excitedly. "What if this is like Slug bots of Goop World 2? In it, the main character has his mind erased and fake memories are put in. And the whole game is spent trying to regain those real memories as you battle both good and bad guys!"
A.J. looked up sharply from where he was standing. 'You have no idea how right you are,' A.J. thought to himself.
"Highly illogical," Tezz said. "There is no way that people are able to do that sort of thing."
"Hey big bro, I think that you should leave the wild theories out of this," Sherman said before Spinner could say anything else.
"Kurt the Silencerz had that sort of technology," Ashley whispered from where she stood next to him.
"How?" Kurt asked.
"I don't know. I wasn't part of that division," Ashley admitted.
"What I don't get, if this is all true," Agura started, "is why Vert would get sent here?"
"We have no idea, the last race Vert was racing against this robot, named Geloram, when he disappeared," Karma said.
"We had an attack on our home, things happened and then Vert disappeared," Taro said.
For awhile now, the wheels in Ashley's head had been turning. She had been thinking of several different things, and the one thing that kept coming to the front of her mind was that's A.J. Dalton, a member of Silencerz.
"How do we know we can even trust you?" Stanford started. "What if this thing is some whole elaborate scheme?"
"Okay," Ashley mumbled to herself. The fact that A.J. was here bugged the crap out of her, and she was not going to stand by and do nothing.
A.J. had been thinking almost the same thing about Ashley. It disturbed him that she was here with Vert's old friends.
"So how's life?" Ashley asked, not really knowing how to call out A.J.
"That's all-" Zoom started to ask confused.
"It's been good," A.J. said, knowing that he was being called out. He thought about denying the fact that he knew Ashley, but he figured it would hurt his case more in the long run. "What about you? How's everything?"
"Same," Ashley replied as she felt everyone's gaze on the pair of them.
"Your mom, she still live in Iowa?" A.J. asked.
"She died, about three years ago," Ashley said. "Ever get to go back to the Yukon?"
"For awhile," A.J. said. 'Oh man, how am I ever going to explain this,' A.J. thought to himself.
"Okay! How do you know each other?" Spinner shouted as he jumped in between the two groups.
"We worked for the Silencerz together," Ashley said, her eyes still not leaving A.J.'s form.
"WHAT!" shouted almost everyone from both groups.
"How?" Vert asked as he turned to face his best friend.
"It's complicated," A.J. said, not meeting his friend's gaze.
Okay here is chapter 12, I hope you like it. P.S. I have no idea what Slug Bots of Goop World 2 is about. I just thought that it would be funnier to throw that in there. I hope you enjoy this chapter.
