Hello Readers!

So this chapter is a really long chapter and it has the surprise I mentioned before. Don't worry I will explain the new idea at the end of the chapter!

Enjoy!

"Korra you have to hide." Mako whispered as they entered an empty room. He winced as the door swung back and forth behind them. "Get under that table. I'll try to keep him away from you."

The only thing she could do was nod and crawl underneath the cloth covered table. Her breathing was erratic and it took everything in her to not make a sound as Amon's footsteps grew closer.

This was what fear truly was, the man who has haunted her nightmares, now a blood bender, was currently in front of her and she was too damn afraid to do anything. She felt like a coward.

Korra shut her eyes as his footsteps stopped completely, her heart was beating so fast she was surprised Amon could not hear it. She let out a breath as his footsteps continued. Then her eyes widened as she felt her body being slid from under the table.

Her body was not her own now, Amon had total control as her hands and legs contorted into different shapes. "No! Stop!" she cried out in pain.

A flash of fire distracted Amon was Mako threw fire punches their way. "Let her go!" he cried out throwing punch after punch.

Amon seemed annoyed by the interruption from the fire bender, Korra cried out as Mako was lifted in the air, contorted arms in all.

The blood bender was merciless as he threw the two benders to the ground. Maintaining his blood bending on the two, he circled the Avatar who was now on her knees. With a sadistic grin he placed two fingers on her neck and two on her forehead. "No. Don't do this. Please!" she begged. Amon merely chuckled before the only sound that came from Korra's mouth was a deep exhale.

Korra swayed and fell face first into the ground, her arms and legs felt like jelly. She felt incomplete. Amon won, he took her bending, he took everything she has. Korra was no longer the Avatar, she was nothing.

"I told you I would destroy you."

And he did.

When Iroh finally had control of the plane, he was now closer to the last fleet that was heading towards the edge of the city. Keeping one hand on the steering rod, he blasted lighting to the closest plane to him.

"That should get their attention." He grins to himself as he watched the metal contraption fall to the ground.

Glancing up he sees a bola flying right towards his propeller, "Damn it!" he yells as he jumps from the plane.

The rushing air hit his face as he manages to stay up right. "Come on Iroh, you have bending for a reason." He tells himself before using his fire to fly up to the nearest plane.

He grunted as he landed hard on the wing causing the plane to shake. "That used to be easier."

Swinging his legs Iroh propelled fire out of his feet throwing the pilot overboard. He grunted as he tried to get the damn thing flying straight again.

The plane shook as a bomb his the back of the flying metal object. Glancing up to see a plane about to drop another, Iroh did the smartest yet dumbest thing he could think of. Throwing a firepunch at the bomb he quickly ducked down to avoid the harsh flames of the explosion.

"That went better than I expected." He says sitting back up only for the plane to shake again. His eyes widened to see his plane flying right for Aang's statue. Knowing he was running out of time, Iroh glanced around to see the flag hanging from the statue. "Ahh!" the Prince cried out as he clung to the cloth as it tore leaving him hanging a few hundred feet from the ground.

He glanced up only to see the sight of Amon's mask falling off of Aang's statue. Iroh gave a tired smile "Thanks for looking out for me Aang."

The planes were finally taken care of, but now it was time to find Korra.

"Korra!" Mako yelled out only to see his friend lying on the ground. He felt fire grow in him, Amon still had control over him but he had to get Korra out of here.

"Amon!"

The lieutenant stood at the door, a scowl set on his face as Amon turned to him.

"Everything the Avatar said is true, isn't it? I just saw you blood bend her."

His former leader said nothing as Mako struggled to break free. Lieutenant sighed and removed his cap to reveal his true identity. This words could not form in his mouth. How could his leader, the man he looked up to, who he wanted to rule the world, do that?

"You- you traitor!" Lieutenant shouted as he crushed his mask below his feet and pulled out his lightning rods "I dedicated my life to you!"

He ran full force, intending to end Amon right then and there, but Amon had other plans and narrowed his eyes while lifting his former soldier in the air, his back arched, arms and legs twisted. "You have served me well Lieutenant."

Korra winced as she heard the pain filled cry of the Lieutenant as he was thrown across the room into wooden planks, then silence. Tears filled her eyes as she heard Amon walking towards Mako and knowing she couldn't do a damn thing to help him.

The footsteps of the blood bender grew near him and he felt the static in his fingers. 'Come on Mako, all those years working in the factory, you can produce lighting. You can do this.' He thinks to himself as he used all that was left of his free will to get to his knees.

With all the power he had in him, Mako let his lighting out. Amon's pain filled cry filled the air as the silver/blue light lit up Mako's face. The blood bender was thrown across the room. Just to make sure he stayed down Mako threw fire punches before heading towards Korra.

"Mako, my bending." She whimpers as he lifted her into his arms.

Mako sighed and moved a piece of hair from her eyes "I know, we'll fix this Korra." With that he ran out of the room down an empty hall way glancing behind him to make sure they weren't being followed.

"My bending." Korra whispers again.

Mako glanced back once more "Everything will be all right. We just have to get out of here."

His eyes widened as he felt himself getting pulled back and Korra falling out of his arms. He watched as her body rolled on the metal ground before he felt his body being thrown around.

"I'm impressed. No one has ever gotten the better of me like that." Amon begins as he sets Mako on his knees "Such a shame to rid of such talent."

Korra sat up as she saw the tail tale sign of what Amon was about to do. She was not about to let Mako be rid of his bending. With what power she had left she threw a punch "No!"

Amon's eye widened as a gust of air hit his body, throwing him away from the fire bender. "Impossible." He mumbled as he slid on his knee.

Korra stared at her hands "I can air bender!" A determined smile etched on her face as she stood strongly on her feet. It was time for Amon to pay.

Punch after punch Korra gave the blood bender no time to attack back. Her body froze before she angrily used her free will "No more!" she cried kicking her feet causing the Equalists to break the glass and fall to the bay.

Mako helped Korra to her feet as they listened to the angry cries of the people below "She killed our leader!"

"Down with the Avatar!"

The sight of Amon rising from the water using bending caused all the protests to die "He really is a water bender."

"He's a liar!"

All in all, Amon got away and it left a horrible pit in Korra's stomach as she leaned onto Mako in pain. "Come on let's get you to a doctor to help those wounds."

The only thing she could do was nod as the fire bender led her down the hall.

"Korra!" Iroh cried out as she and Mako approached the island. Running to his beloved he brought her into his arms and hugged her close. "I'm glad you're alright." He murmured.

"But I'm not." She whispered holding him tightly.

"What do you mean?" he asked pulling away slightly.

Tears brimmed her eyes "He got me Iroh, my bending his gone."

Iroh's eyes flashed with anger and let out a curses before seeing Korra's distraught look and pulled her into his arms once again "We'll fix this Korra. I will do everything in my power to help you."

She nodded and pulled away to see all her friends surrounding her, along with Bei Fong. The former chief put her hands on her shoulders "I can't believe Amon got you too."

"But hey at least she unlocked her air bending!" Bolin shouts happily only to see a glare from his brother.

"Not the best time Bro."

The sound of a ship's horn got everyone's attention as Iroh sighed and tried to look as presentable as possible, after all he still was the general and crown Prince.

"You saved Republic City." Tenzin says quietly to Korra "And I am so proud of you."

"But Amon got away." She replies brokenly. All her mentor could do was put a comforting hand on her shoulder.

"Yay Uncle Bumi's here!" Ikki cried out happily as the rest of the children cheered.

Iroh and Tenzin glanced warily at each other knowing how wild Bumi could be. "Great now I have to entertain my brother. Wonderful."

As the rest of the group followed Tenzin, Iroh and Korra stayed behind.

"I'll talk to Tenzin about letting me take you to the South Pole to see Katara, if there's anyone that can help you, it's Master Katara." Her boyfriend says holding her tightly.

"Thanks Iroh." She whispered, his touch was so comforting she almost forgot about her bending. Almost.

"I thought I was going to lose you today." He said quietly.

Korra lifted her head from his chest "You could never lose me."

"Come on, let's go ask Tenzin." He says kissing her lips and taking her hand in his.

Iroh paced back and forth in the large living room as everyone else sat quietly. "Iroh you're making me dizzy with all your pacing." Bumi say laying his head back on his mother's couch.

"I'm sorry I'm just-" the sound of the sliding door opening caused him to stop talking.

Katara sighed and glanced at the group of people. "Well?" Tenzin asked as his mother shook her head.

"I'm sorry, I've done everything in my power." She says.

Bei Fong was the first to stand "But you're the best there is, there is something you can do."

Katara shook her head once more "I'm sorry there's nothing else I can do. Korra can still air bend but her connection to the other elements has been separated."

Iroh growled angrily at what Amon did to the girl he loves. He wished he could do something to help her.

The sliding door opened once more to reveal Korra as she stared at the ground. Iroh could see, once she glanced up, the pain in her eyes and he wished it was his bending taken from him instead of her. She has done with wrong in her life to deserve this.

"It's going to be alright Korra." Tenzin says softly.

She shook her head slightly "No, it's not."

With that the Avatar pushed her way through the crowd of people, throwing on her parka and ignoring Iroh's touch as she walked out the door in silence.

The General watched sadly as his girlfriend before following her out. "Korra wait!" he called out.

She stopped in her tracks and glanced at Iroh "Go away. Please."

"I will. Just know I want to be here for you Korra. I can take care of you." He says stepping closer.

"Just stop Iroh. I'm of no use. I'm not the Avatar anymore, I failed the world. I would ruin your reputation as a Prince if you stayed with me. Go and get on with your life I'm sure you'll be happier."

Iroh rose an eyebrow "What are you talking about Korra. I'm in love with you, Avatar or not. Just you Korra." He sighed "I didn't want to do it like this but…I want you to come with me to the Fire Nation and become my wife. I love you Korra. "

Korra's eyes filled with tears as she pulled away "I- I can't. I'm sorry." With that she left the Prince alone as she ran onto Naga and rode off into the snowy tundra.

He sighed and clenched his fist and felt a hand on his shoulder "Give her some time." Tenzin says with a grim face "She has to come to terms with what has happened."

"No." Iroh replies "I will not let her eat herself up about this and there is no way I am letting her go. She isn't thinking straight Tenzin. I'm going after her." He says tightening his parka.

Tenzin nodded and let the young man chase after the Avatar.

Iroh felt the cold wind hit his face as he ran towards the glowing light that filled the air. "Please don't do anything stupid Korra." He thinks to himself as he drew closer and closer.

His eyes widened in awe as he approached the cliff. There in the Avatar State was Korra bending all the elements. Iroh could not have felt more proud of her.

As she landed on the ground, Iroh saw as she stared at her hands with a smile on her face. Knowing he was there Korra turned to see Iroh there with a proud smile on his face and she knew, he would always love her.

"Iroh." She breathed out as she ran to him, he chuckled as she wrapped her legs around his waist and her arms around his neck. "Yes. Yes. Yes." She says hugging him tightly.

"What?" he asked with a smile.

"I'll go with you to the Fire Nation after we take care of Republic City." She replies with a grin.

He laughed and hugged her closely "I love you Korra."

She smiled and pulled away slightly to gaze into his golden eyes "I love you too."

With that he brought their lips together as the sun was rising to the sky. That's when Korra knew, everything would be fine.

That is. Until she had to live in a palace.

Wooo that was very intense and emotional. Now that's over,

I know in the show Korra stays in RC and she's with Mako blah blah but since this is AU, she's going to the Fire Nation. Don't worry the elements and some of the plot in book two will happen which will eventually lead up to Korra and Iroh having an adventure during Book Three so everyone stick around! Things are about to get exciting!

Until next time dear readers!
