AN: I am soo sorry, but I've just been on a weird few months of late. I feel like I was on a downwards spiral, but I'm resurfacing and I know I've let a lot of people down by not updating quick enough. But this is the FINAL chapter, I made it!

2015- Edited. i just realized it was all clumped together and the formatting i did for it had been ruined or something, so i edited.

Disclaimer: I don't own Tracy Beaker or any of its spinoffs.

Hidden Memories: Face The Future - Did the Storm Fix or Amend our Melody?

They had decided that it was for the best to take him to the hospital. They mightn't be able to do anything for him, they knew that, but it was a chance they had to take. And anyway, if they could do nothing, then he could at least visit Melody, maybe that would help him. They didn't know anything for sure but they set off in Mike's car anyway. Tracy was driving. Merlin had almost begged to be able to go with them but Mike had decided it was better for Liam to go alone, so Merlin sat at the bottom of the garden in the den with Melody's stash. He would have a bad cough by morning.

Tracy led Liam into the hospital, it was a local one, not too fancy and not too cheap. Brick and plastic sheets littered the decorations. Liam felt like a little bug in amongst all the big tarantula's, with all their pokey gleaming eyes trained on him. He wanted to bolt, but Tracy had a grasp on his arm as they stood at the reception desk as the lady in a crisp white outfit talked on the phone. He could hear the clock ticking, it was getting louder by the second, giving him a throbbing stance in his head. It was banging on like the world was and this bloody lady was. 'Can you JUST SHUT UP!' Liam shouted and kicked the desk before collapsing into silence again. His shoulders slouched and his eyes drooped to the floor. The security guards had come running but the lady had ushered them away. She told Tracy the directions to a room and they set off slowly. Liam just staring ahead, not taking anything or letting anyone in.

'Tracy, Tracy!' Someone shouted quietly at them as they walked by a room on the 3rd floor. That person happened to be Gina and that room was Melody's. 'Oh hi G…' Tracy stopped short of herself when she noticed Liam walking in his trance-like state towards Melody. Gina excused herself from the room to stand at the door with Tracy to give the two kids some space. Tracy started to relay what had been happening at the home as to block out their conversation; they couldn't really leave them alone now, could they? Melody pitied Liam…well okay, she didn't pity him, she felt sad for him. Her heart literally dropped when she saw his face. But of course, she didn't realize that as IT wouldn't let her. "Don't worry about him. He's just stupid. You don't care about him…' that sinister IT spoke. She let out a loud screech and starting caning her head in with her fists, shouting 'Shut up' over and over again. Gina and Tracy started to run over to restrain Melody but Liam was already there (as he'd always be). He took hold of her hands and looked her in the eyes; Melody kept fighting to keep looking at those blue huey orbs, she tried so so hard, but when she heard that voice, its pull was so strong and she was already so weak. He did make her feel stronger though, but she just needed to hear what IT had to say about Liam, she needed to know, just one last time, at least. It might have something really important to say. So she let herself slip back under IT's influence. 'Stop, he's just lying. He doesn't care!' and yet again, she'd been a fool. It was repeating the same thing. Because IT knew that what they were saying was true and she'd believe it, because IT was her only friend.

By now, Liam had slowly started to break out of his reverie and he'd started to notice something. Melody sort of slipped in and out of reverie's, as if someone was talking to her, but no one in that room was, they were just watching. And so it clicked in his brain. He tentively worked up the courage to ask this. It was risky, she may attack him, and it probably wouldn't even be her own fault for doing so.
'Can you hear something…are you hearing a voice?' . . .'… …' . 'Can I make a deal with you? I'll tell you what's haunting me… if you tell me what's haunting you? I promise.' He held his pinkie finger out and she slowly but surely clasped her pinkie in his.
A good ol' pinkie promise between two troubled teens. She used all of her strength to block out IT and to speak of what had plagued her, but she knew this was her chance to clear her head and to make a new.
She had to do this, not just for her, he'd want it too, she knew he would; deep down in her heart she hoped he wanted this for her. For her to be free for once. 'When I was 9, i..i..i did something horrible.' 'No!' IT was trying to break through but it was weak because she had a goal, she was set and wanted to race to the finish. 'I torched my house. But… I didn't know my family was in there; I as angry, they tortured me! I saved my baby brother… but my parents..i. I couldn't. They, they died. And my name's not even Melody, I'm not even me… and that's good because they all hate me.'

Liam didn't dwell on what she had said he didn't need to/ he wasn't going to judge her on what she had done in her past because, for now; he just wanted to say what he needed to, before his courage gave up on him.
'I'll tell you now. I, well I was 8… and I was at the park with my brother. And, my carer went to get some food and my brother, well, he umm, he fell into the lake, and I couldn't swim. And he just screamed my name and he struggled and then…drowned. And his body was just there, floating on the surface. And his carer came back and saw and shouted and hit me and… and, that's it…. It's done. We're done with this shit Melody. That crap's happened okay. And we know it, but we can't change it, can we? And he'd want me to forget, like your brother would. And I don't care if your name's not Melody. It was a name for a new beginning… like this is gonna be… okay? We'll do it together.' And with that he pressed his lips onto her cheek, calming her down. '…how'd you do that?' Melody's voice came out short and quiet. '…I have nothing to give you…except that kiss. And I give you forgiveness…and hope.' Melody smiled and gave a chuckle at his corniness.
She rested her forehead on his and said 'Thank you Liam. Umm, my name's umm.. Keyanti Harmya, by the way…'

AN: that kiss on the cheek part was inspired by a scene in an Irish film called Kisses. (it's awesome, watch it!) i just want to say thank you for everyone who followed, favourited and reviewed :) I did start to write a prequel ages ago, but I doubt it's the best, but if I do post it, it wont be until I've nearly completed it. I don't want to leave you guys all hanging again. And I may add a little extra chapter or a one-shot to complete Merlin's story, as I don't think I've done him justice in revealing his secretiveness. I hope you've enjoyed this until the next time… Monkeys!
