Author: This Chapter was partially inspired by 10thSquad3rdSeat's comment on Chapter 7. I thought it would be best to tie up loose endings and find a transition to the later chapters.
Hence the less Adventures and more Newspaper Articles.

I still hope you like it.

The Adventures of Steve Rogers

It was still early in the morning when the News Coo dropped the newspaper on the deck of the G-5 warship.

Steve yawned and picked it up. He was, as usually, the first one to get up and also the first one on deck, except for the soldiers who had night watch, maybe. Normally, he would do a few laps around the ship and when he still had time, use Smoker's training equipment to do something. After that, he would read the paper and wait for the chefs to finish the breakfast.

He did really like those guys, even though the four of them were utterly unable to work together. While he put the weights away, he made sure to be extra careful to put them back in their spots because the last time the female shipwright suddenly appeared out of nowhere, screeching like a demon sent from Hell and instantly nailed the accidentally damaged deck shut again.

Rubbing the back of his neck, the Super Soldier threw a glance at the first page.

"Wow", he mumbled as he lifted his water bottle to his lips, "That guy sure does look like Thor."

"But that can't be. All of us know not to attract attention while we are here." Steve thought, "And besides, those Pillsbury Pirates last time..." His thoughts trailed off as he remembered that particular pirate crew with a huge grin on his face. While being feared for their fighting abilities, they were also known for making some damn good baked food. Be it cake, pie, bread, rolls, cookies or anything of the like. Their captain actually used to be a baker before his store had to be closed and he became a pirate.

"This is a strange world, so why shouldn't there be doppelgangers of us?" the Captain thought as his eyes skimmed across the article.

The grin dropped off his face as he read the headlines.

Strawhat and 'Prince Thor of Asgard' attacked World Noble Saint Blackwhite

He forced himself to swallow the cry of shock that threatened to leave his throat, instead choking on his water.

Coughing he threw several glances over his shoulder, grabbed the newspaper and quickly climbed up the highest mast of the ship. Here he was alone, so he took a deep breath and stared back at the paper.

Strawhat and 'Prince Thor of Asgard' attacked World Noble Saint Blackwhite

In the early hours of the evening, the Strawhat Pirates attacked the Blackwhite Castle of Saint Blackwhite on Blackwhite Island. This caused the Celestial Dragon to escape the island, which is now in the hands of the local rebels who removed the Blackwhite Flag and introduced their own flag. The Government hasn't made a statement on the next steps. The attack was being led by one until now unknown man. According to witnesses, he introduced himself as 'Thor, the Son of King Odin and Queen Frigga and rightful heir to the Throne of Asgard, the kingdom that rules over the Nine'. The authorities launched investigations on where this man comes from. According to witnesses the man is more than six feet tall, has blue eyes and blonde hair and beard. He is also wearing silver armour and a red cape and has been described as muscular. Apparently he uses a hammer in battle and by some unknown abilities is able to control lightning. It is advised to use extreme caution when dealing with this man as he was seen taking down all three walls of Blackwhite Castle with a single punch.

When noticing him or the Strawhat Pirates, contact the Marine immediately.

"Oh no" Steve groaned as he looked at a picture showing Thor in a victorious pose with Luffy, Zoro and Sanji next to him. Chopper in his Heavy Point, Usopp, Brook, Franky, Nami and Robin stood behind them. All of them had unpleasant smirks on their faces.

Steve shook his head to clear his thoughts. A part of him knew it was surely justified to attack this World Noble and free the island that was in his clutch, but another part just wished that Thor wouldn't have attracted that much attention as he did.

The Soldier shook his head again as he turned the page.

The image of a tall scarecrow-like entity in front of burning ships and surrounded by black-magic-themed pirates dominated most of the side. Another, not burning ship was behind them. Steve squinted as he moved his face closer to see the image better. Small, almost completely hidden from the eyes of the camera, were six more people. The Soldier could identify a blonde man, a blonde woman, a fishman, a prisoner and... one dark-haired archer and a red-haired woman.

His eyes shot down to the article.

'The Magician Basil Hawkins' and the Second Leader of the Revolutionary Army attacked G-3 Marine Base

Basil Hawkins and his men attacked the island at four in the morning, following an undiscovered infiltration by unknown people and the Second Leader of the Revolutionary Army. According to witnesses the first infiltrator appeared to be a red-haired woman who defeated twenty Navy Soldiers in under five minutes. It is currently unknown whether the Magician and the Revolutionary Army are working together, but witnesses claimed that the invasion of the Revolutionaries and the pirates happened independent from each other. The Authorities are assessing the damage at the moment.

"Nate...Clint... not you guys too", Steve winced.

The Headline Eustass Kid raided Island made him slightly uneasy as well, he just didn't know why.

Seconds later he knew why exactly.

While Eustass 'Captain' Kid attacked the 'Northern Star' Island, a flying Iron Warrior took the World Noble Saint Petrus and his family hostage. After that, Kid and the 'Ironman' dubbed warrior fought and defeated Vice Admiral Clean and managed to escape the island before naval reinforcements arrived. The Celestial Dragon's property was stolen. Saint Petrus demands the pirates to be caught and imprisoned for the disgrace they brought over his family.

It is advised to take caution when facing Kid or the 'Ironman', as both are extremely dangerous and well-armed. The government is ready to pay a reward for any hints of their whereabouts. The world-famous scientist Doctor Vegapunk also promised rewards for managing to acquire the technology in the 'Ironman' armour, as it is higher developed than the current Pacifista program.

Steve groaned again and buried his face in his hands. He really didn't want to read the next article.

He still did.

And immediately regretted his decision.

Fleet Admiral 'Akainu' Sakazuki savagely beaten by unknown criminal

During a routine inspection of the newly reconstructed naval Base G-4 Fleet Admiral encountered the Surgeon of Death, Trafalgar Law. To protect the community, he went to arrest the Surgeon and his crew.

However, the wretched Captain, a man who betrayed the Government and his position as one of the Shichibukai by allying with the Strawhat Pirates, was unable to be apprehended due to one of his crew members.

According to eyewitnesses, the man's name was 'Bruce Banner'. He announced he would stop the Fleet Admiral from harming the pirates. He activated an unknown devil fruit power (Zoan? Investigations have been launched) to change into what was described as 'incredibly powerful, angry and green monster' and viciously attacked the Fleet Admiral and his men. Despite the Logia Body which caused the death of 'Firefist' Portgas D. Ace two years earlier, Fleet Admiral Akainu was unable to even harm the so-called Hulk.

The 'Hulk' destroyed the whole landing crew of highly-trained Navy Soldiers before sinking every single war ship. The Heart Pirates managed to escape unharmed.

If there is any information about their whereabouts, contact the Marine immediately. It is advised to use extreme caution as the 'Hulk' might still be within the Surgeon's reach.

The Fleet Admiral is currently being treated in Marineford. The whole editorial office wishes him to be better soon.

Steve let out another groan as he tried to bury himself in the crow's nest as much as possible. Perhaps even curl up and wait for his end. The first things might have been able to be overlooked, but when Bruce just smashed the Fleet Admiral, the whole World Government was going to want their asses on a silver platter. All of their asses.

"Is there a problem?"

Smoker's gruff voice didn't startle the Captain anymore. By now he got used to the Vice Admiral popping up everywhere he wished.

He just couldn't think of any excuse or intelligent remark by now. So Steve settled with whining and letting the newspaper slide out of his grasp.

Smoker took it and skimmed through, his face merely changing when he read the last article.

"So that Red Mutt finally got his ass handed back to him. About time somebody did that", Smoker grunted as he folded the paper again. He watched the blonde Captain for a moment before crossing his arms.

"Am I right if I assume that the guys in the news are your friends?"

Steve mumbled something inaudible before he let out a pitiful 'Yes'.

Smoker shifted his cigars in his mouth. "With friends like these... you have my deepest sympathy."
