"All fixed!" Felix sighed contentedly, closing the panel on the floor. He picked up the golden hammer he'd briefly set beside him and returned it to its holster with a flourishing twirl.

Tamora smiled, and cut her rounds early, returning to the center of the room beside her tiny fiancé.

"So—" the handyman beamed, taking a step backwards to give his lady the rundown on the changes he'd made. "Firstly, I installed the ever handy 'Emergency Shutoff' switch," he gestured to the wall behind him. "That way, the next time the beacon needs quick repairs, nobody has to get electrocuted."

The sergeant couldn't help but feel some guilt at his explanation; but Felix, ever patient and kind, had kept a good sense of humor about the incident that happened only a few weeks before. He had really put his life on the line to save her game…

"And—" she looked down as he reopened the panel by her feet. "I reworked all of the wiring by hand. It was a mess, but I managed just fine." Felix's smile faded as he looked up at Tammy.

Her face was hard to read, but something clicked; it must be hard for her to see Brad's one lasting contribution to 'Hero's Duty' be tampered with. He'd been so pleased with his own handiwork, he completely forgot about his lady's feelings on the matter.

Felix slowly stood and wrapped an arm around his lady's leg, hugging her as best his small stature would allow.

"All the groundwork is still there, it's just been…" he hunted for the right set of words to say. "I've just…brought it up to code."

After a moment, Tamora let out a small chuckle, placing a hand on the fixer's signature hat.

"Brad was a brilliant mechanical engineer," she said with a bittersweet smile, kneeling down on the metal floor. "But admittedly, electrical work was never really his strong suit."

Tamora looked at Felix, and while he smiled, he found it so hard to meet her gaze.

"Fix-It," she said, seeing right through him. "You did a good thing, you have nothing to feel guilty about."

"I just—" Felix nodded solemnly before continuing. "I just hope you know I'm not…I'm not trying to replace him. I know I can't, and I don't want to. He was and still is an important part of your life," he looked down at the wires below, feeling as though he'd just erased a part of Brad's memory.

"Felix," Tamora said sternly, turning the handyman to face her. "Don't you forget this for one second; you're an important part of my life too."

A blush crept across the fixer's stunned face.

"You both are. And the way I see it, now I've got a bit of you both here in 'Hero's Duty.' Brad's ingenuity and your precision," the sergeant smiled. "You make a pretty good team."

Felix let out a sigh of relief, his lady's words bringing him much needed comfort. He sunk into her form as they held each other

"I love you," he mumbled.

"Love you too, Fix-It," Tamora replied, pulling away and tilting her head to the machine beside them. "Now let's get her back up and running."

"Right," Felix nodded.

Tammy stood, and the handyman took a moment to look over the wiring once more. 'A bit of both;' he liked that sentiment. And smiling fondly, he gently closed the panel.
