I own nothing. Nothing, at all. I don't own the icon, characters, and YJ. I only own the fake doctor. I also apologize if the very little medical talk that will be in here is inaccurate.

The adults walked into the hospital, shortly after the team entered. They kept their heads down, and avoided all the staff. They were not taking any chances, especially since Bruce was in civilian garb –he would be recognized the minute he walked in if they didn't lay low.

The boys cannot know they were here, not yet at least. They found a vacant hall –it wasn't exactly difficult– and proceeded to occupy the chairs by the walls. Each sat down with some kind of depressed facial expression.

Bruce was at the end of the row of chairs, followed by Selina, who sat next to Iris, who sat next to Barry, who sat next to Diana, who sat next to Dinah, who sat next Oliver who was at the other end.

"I rigged their comms. to ours." Bruce suddenly said. All heads turned to him, some curious, some hesitant.

"Bruce, are you suggesting we…listen in on their conversation?" Ollie asked, tempted. Truthfully, he wasn't against the idea, just…hesitant. He really wanted to find out what was going on with Roy, and if there was a way to know, and the team didn't know about it…

Bruce gave a sigh and ran a hand through his hair. "Look…" he started. "I know that it's an extreme invasion of privacy, trust me I do, but I'm worried. I know you are too. They'll never know about it, and we won't bring anything up." He persuaded.

"I need to know what's happening. We all do." He finished. He felt guilty, and he hasn't even listened in yet. But honestly, he'd rather have Dick hate him, as long as he was alive to do so.

The others looked at each other. Should they do this? Will it be worth it? They didn't know the answer to these questions, but nonetheless they agreed.

"Bats… you're sure they won't find out?" Barry asked. He will do this, and even if he gets caught he knows that he needs the facts, but if there's a chance they won't get caught…well, he'll take it.

Bruce looked at him and nodded. With that reassurance, they all put their comms. in their ears. All Justice League members were issued this comm. They would be given to the League members' family members, and any other hero, or hero group, who was associated with the League.

They put their comms. on just in time to hear Wally explain the story to the team. After hearing the story, Selina was in tears, the others had grim faces on, and Bruce punched a wall. Once Bruce calmed down, he sat down and put an arm around Selina.

However, their moment of peace didn't last long. They heard Conner utter one of the most horrible sentences they have ever heard. Each of the other adults took action to comfort the mourning couple.

The women went to Selina murmuring reassurances. Once Selina comprehended the sentence, she started sobbing even more. Bruce had gone into shock, and his hand fell to his side, eyes staring into nothing, mouth slightly a jar.

"Selina, we need you to calm down okay?" Iris said trying to console the hysterical woman.

Selina had buried her face in both her hands. "No!" she cried. "He's gone! My baby boy is gone!" she sobbed. Each woman felt for her. Dick grew up with the Justice League, to hear this kind of news about him…

"Selina, you can't lose hope. They resuscitate him. There's still a chance." Dinah insisted. Her words fell on deaf ears.

"Selina. Selina, look at me." Diana said, when she realized they weren't getting anywhere. To her great relief, the woman actually looked at her. She looked downright terrible. Her eyes, which held so much pain, were bloodshot, her make up dripping along with her tears, tear tracks all over her face.

"I know that this seems hopeless." She said, her voice cracking. "But that's the thing. It only seems that way. Not all is lost. Dick is strong, if anyone can get out of this, it's him." She said with a watery smile. Selina nodded, but tears continued to flow down her face. They just continued comforting her, for that was all they could do right now.

The men on the other hand, were trying to get a reaction out of Bruce; anything at all would be helpful to them –even if it was hysteria.

Bruce was staring into a wall, but the emotions in his eyes, they were so intense, if you look into them, it was as if you could feel his pain.

"Bruce. Bruce, buddy, say something." Barry pleaded, shaking his friend's shoulders. Nothing.

Oliver gave it a try. "Bruce you have to say something. I know this is hard but you have to come back to us." Oliver said trying to snap some sense into him.

Bruce gave a reaction, although they almost wished he hadn't. His eyes started to well up with tears, and he spoke. "He's…dead." He croaked out. Barry and Oliver had never heard him sound so broken.

Barry sighed shakily, he was mourning too, but he had to be strong for Bruce. God knows the man's suffered more than anyone should have.

"Bruce, it's not over, not by a long shot." He reassured the man. "This happens, but the doctors can fix it. They can still save him." He said trying to be convincing.

Ollie backed him up. "Look, we can't possibly imagine the pain you're going through, but you need to have faith. I know that it sounds rich coming from me." He admitted. Ollie was never one to believe in gods, but right now, he was willing to try anything if it means some semblance of a solution.

"It helps though. You just…you need to believe that everything will turn out right." He finally finished. Barry was looking at Oliver in a new light. He sometimes forgets, that when Oliver was trapped on that island, he had no one and nothing to help him; and given the fact he had no survival skills…

Barry patted him on the shoulder and looked to Bruce. Bruce looked like he was trying to pull himself together –a good sign of Barry ever saw one. Bruce blinked and took a deep breath. They were right. He's been in enough situations to know that people can be revived. His son was going to make it…he hoped.

"Thank you." He said quietly. Barry and Oliver just nodded consolingly at him. They waited a few more seconds, which was spent trying to calm Bruce and Selina, until they heard Conner give the all clear. To this, everyone except Bruce let out a sigh of relief. Bruce would've given a sigh of relief, if he hadn't been rushing through the halls, anxious to see his son.

Once the others realized what he was doing, they were hot on his heels. Screw waiting; screw the whole damn world for all they cared! Their kids needed them, and dammit, they will be there for them.

They ran and ran. Finally, they were met with the sight of the team, and their kids. Oliver didn't even stop he went straight for Roy. He hugged his son like his life depended on it –and in their situation, it very well could be.

Roy was shocked, but he hugged back. He hugged back, and boy did it feel good. This, he thought, was what it was like to have a father. He cried into Ollie –his dad's shoulder, and he was just content. His dad was here; he would help him.

Barry took Oliver's example as his cue. He ran over to Wally and hugged him as well. He squeezed his son tight, and muttered the words he's been waiting to say to Wally. "I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry, I didn't know. I love you Wally." He said to him.

Wally cried again. He's been doing that a lot lately, but this, this he could say was one of the best reasons he cried. He cared! His Uncle –scratch that his dad cared. He hugged him back just as fiercely, telling him that it wasn't his fault, and that he loved him too.

Dinah looked at Oliver and Roy, and she couldn't help but swell with joy. Dick was alive, and Wally and Roy were fixing things with Barry and Oliver. Maybe, just maybe, things could still go back to normal. She approached her family, and kissed them both on the cheek.

Iris was finally relieved to see Wally, she wished it were under different circumstances, but happy nonetheless. She watched as Barry gave his apologies for not knowing –which she finds preposterous seeing as no one but Wally knew until he told the boys. Wally forgave him, and she could see how relieved he was. She cursed her pitiful excuse for a brother for making Wally think he was worthless.

She strode over to the hugging speedsters, and kissed Wally's temple.

Whereas the Allen and Queen families were reuniting, the Wayne family still had a long way to go. There wasn't an air of happiness going around them; only a sense of temporary relief and worry. One of them was still in danger, and none of them could do anything about it.

Tim ran into Selina's waiting arms, and silently cried, while she hugged him, murmuring reassurances. Tim needed his mom, he needed her to tell him that Dick was going to be okay, that he wasn't going to leave them. She was doing just that –but they both knew that she was only saying what he wanted to hear. No one knows if Dick will make it out of this.

Jason slowly walked to Bruce, each step somehow weakening his carefully constructed mask. Once he approached Bruce, his eyes were brimming with tears. Bruce put a hand on his shoulder, the comforting gesture all his sons have come to love. In that one gesture, everything that needed to be said was said. Jason subtly nodded and closed his eyes for a few seconds trying to rid himself of the tears, and pain.

"Bruce, his heart stopped." He whispered, still in a bit of shock.

Bruce nodded; he wasn't going to lie to his son. For one thing, he'll find out at some point, for another, he wasn't about to damage their newly repaired relationship with lies.

"I know." He said somberly. Jason looked at him, eyes conveying shock, but only for a moment. He could guess how he found out.

Before any more words could be exchanged, a doctor came out from the operating room. All eyes turned to the doctor. The doctor was a male brunette, who looked to be in his early thirties. He was an attractive man, but that was overshadowed by the fact that he was covered in blood –Dick's blood.

He was holding a metal clipboard, and was still looking at it. "Dick Grayson?" he called out.

"That's us." Selina said, letting go of Tim.

The doctor looked up and was thoroughly surprised at the sheer amount of people who were looking at him expectantly.

He cleared his throat awkwardly. "Well…um…Mr. Grayson is stable as of now, but due to his blood loss, his heart stopped during the operation." He explained. Most of them collectively flinched at the reminder, Jason and Tim included.

"The gashes on his arms weren't that much of a problem. They did, howeverm contribute to the already rapid blood loss due to the bullet wound."

That statement sent them all spiraling out of reality.
