"Are you sure about this?" Hikaru asked looking at his brother with concern.
"Trust me Hika, It's going to be fine." Kaoru smiled encouragingly.
"You're going to be okay?"
"I'll be fine. You two have a good time and I'll see you when you get back." Kaoru practically pushed Hikaru out the door.
"You're sure we're doing the right thing Kao?" The younger twin sighed.
"Haruhi, a little help?" Haruhi smiled and grabbed Hikaru's arm, wrapping it around her shoulder and leaning in.
"Come on Hikaru, if you want this to work, you have to trust Kaoru when he says it's Okay."
"You're positive?" Hikaru called back as Haruhi pulled him along.
"Yes." Hikaru followed Haruhi into the car.
"He's okay." She said leaning against him.
"Yeah, part of me knows that, but It's drown out by the part that doesn't want to lose him."
"If you need to call him, I won't mind, but for right now, let's enjoy the time we have." Hikaru smiled.
"You're right. I'm glad Kaoru and I joined the club, I never would've known you." He reached out and placed his palm on his girlfriend's cheek. Haruhi leaned into it resting her on hand on his.
"I love you Haruhi."
"I love you too." She kissed his lips softly, enjoying his response.
"Haruhi?" Hikaru whispered after they pulled away.
"Yeah?"
"Whatever our future holds, I hope I love you all my life."
"So do I." She whispered back lovingly. She meant it.
Kaoru laid down on the couch and turned on the television feeling tired, he briefly thought about going to his room but decided against it. Hikaru would be contacting him soon, the young teen's abdomen had begun to ache again, he rested quietly, closing his eyes and beginning to drift into sleep. His ringtone pulled him back into consciousness.
"Hello?" He greeted sleepily.
"Hello Kaoru, how are you?" Akina's voice replied.
"I'm okay, how's your visit with your grandparents?"
"It was good, I actually just got back, I was hoping you'd want to do something, I haven't seen you for a while."
"I'm kind of busy right now but if you want we can go out next weekend." Kaoru hated to do this to her, he missed her terribly while she was gone.
"Oh, I understand." She said disappointed, the tone hurt Kaoru to hear it.
"Hey Kaoru?"
"Yeah?"
"You sound different, are you okay?"
"I'm fine."
"Did you find someone else?"
"Of course not, why would you think something like that, I love you."
"I guess I was just worried, but I trust you. Tell me what's wrong."
"Why do you think something's wrong just because I'm-"
"When you care about someone Kaoru, you notice small things that others might not, please talk to me."
"I'm just not feeling well right now, its nothing to worry about though."
"My poor Kaoru, is there anything I can do for you?"
"No. I'll be okay."
"Can I come over?" Kaoru was surprised by the request.
"Come here?" He asked.
"Yeah, I want to be there for you if you aren't well."
"You don't have to-"
"I know, I want to. I love you Kaoru."
"I love you too. I'll send a car for you."
"Thank you. I'll see you when I get there." After hanging up and calling for the car, Kaoru fell asleep. He found himself lying on a blanket on a white sand beach, the sound of the ocean around him and the sun beginning to set.
"Kaoru, its beautiful isn't it?" Akina asked lying beside him.
"Yeah, It's great. I'm glad you're here with me."
"So am I, I love you so much, I wish we could stay here all our lives, watch every sunrise and sunset. It would be amazing." Kaoru smiled
"Not as amazing as you are." Kaoru felt Akina run her fingers through his hair, he heard her voice but it was fading. Kaoru began to feel his pain returning but quickly realized that the hand brushing back his hair was real.
"Akina." He said opening his eyes. Akina was kneeling beside the couch.
"It's good to see you kaoru, how are you feeling?"
"Better with you here." Akina smiled.
"Good. I just want you to rest, I'll take care of you." She said softly. She leaned down and kissed him lovingly, resting her hand on his abdomen and carefully rubbing it.
"Is this what's bothering you, your stomach?" Kaoru nodded.
"It's not that bad."
"Should I call Hikaru?"
"No. Let him enjoy his time with Haruhi, It's nothing."
"Are you sure, you're a little pale."
"I'm fine." Akina nodded.
"Will you let me take you to your room to rest?"
"You don't have to, I'll be okay." He gasped as a sharp pain shot through his belly.
"Kaoru, are you sure you're okay?" Kaoru took her hand.
"I don't know if-"
"If you're sick, you should be resting comfortably. Do you have a heating pad?"
"Somewhere."
"It's okay, I brought one just in case." She pulled him from the couch and put him to bed.
"Akina, you don't have to-"
"It's alright, I want to." She plugged in the heating pad and turned it on low.
As it heated up, Kaoru began to relax.
"How'd you know to-"
"My mother's a doctor, sometime I help her with patients, nothing major but little things like this."
"Akina?"
"Yeah?"
"Do you want to watch tv with me in here, you can sit down on the bed."
"I'd like that. I trust you Kaoru, I know that you won't-"
"No. I wouldn't do that." Akina soon found herself lying in Kaoru's arms as they watched her favorite program, Kaoru's stomach pain eased slowly. He was lucky to have someone care so much for him, he hoped she always would.
"Should we text him?' Hikaru asked holding haruhi close.
" he's fine. You can if you want to but he's just going to say he's fine."
"Yeah, he would, you're right, maybe It's time I started trusting him when he says he's okay."
"Good. If you think you can, then taking in our movie shouldn't be a problem, let's go get a good seat." She suggested, though she knew that neither one would be watching much of it.
