After several hours passed, the spell weakened. Her eyelids slowly opened and revealed titanium irises. Her vision was initially hazy, but it gradually focused to clarity. The girl was finally awake. She looked around and realized she was in an unfamiliar environment. She was in a white room with fluorescent lights and few furniture. The confused girl wondered where she was. Suddenly, she heard the door open. She turned to her right and saw the female nurse enter the room. The girl looked at her warily. When the nurse discovered that the girl was awake, she quickly notified the doctor. A minute later, the doctor arrived at the private ward.
"Hello," Doctor Butler greeted his patient, "How are you feeling?"
When the girl saw the doctor, her eyes immediately widened. She tried to jump out of the bed, but she was unable to. The girl looked down and realized she was restrained by energy that emitted gravity. She was strapped to the bed. When Doctor Butler approached her, the girl became more aggressive. She used brute force to pull herself up. However, the gravitational force pulled her down repetitively. She struggled to free herself. Then, she resorted to magic. However, when she tried to transform, a high voltage of electricity shocked her. The energy also neutralized magic. Despite the stinging pain of the electric current, the girl repeated to use magic to free herself.
"Please stop! You'll hurt yourself!" requested Doctor Butler.
When the doctor placed his hands on her shoulders, the girl viciously bit one of his arms. He screamed vehemently. The doctor tried to pull his arm away, but he couldn't. She sank her teeth deeply into his skin and latched on like a crocodile. The nurse rushed in and helped the doctor. With her assistance, he managed to jerk from the girl. The doctor rolled his bloodstained sleeve and checked his wound. The nurse gasped in horror. His flesh was ripped apart and it was bleeding profusely. The girl glared at the doctor with a bloodstained mouth. The nurse quickly administered first aid to stop the bleeding.
"It's okay. I'll do it myself," said Doctor Butler.
The doctor took the clean cloth from the nurse and applied pressure on his broken skin.
"Is there anything I can do for you?" asked the nurse.
"Get the male nurses in here. We need to calm her down," told Doctor Butler.
"Yes, sir!"
"Alert the headmaster as well."
The nurse understood and rushed out of the room. The doctor turned around and glanced at the girl. The girl violently slammed her body against the bed. The doctor left the private ward to treat his injured arm.
The atmosphere in the infirmary changed. The presence of the fairies and witches made it lively. The injured cadets enjoyed their company. The girls talked to them and assisted them. They shared interesting conversations and humorous stories. After spending hours in the infirmary, everyone became hungry. The boys ate the school food for breakfast and did not enjoy it. Fortunately, the girls went out to the city and returned with their favorite fast food. Together, they satisfyingly ate their lunch.
"Thanks for bringing the food, girls," appreciated Timmy. The nerd munched on his onion cheese bagel with sun-dried tomato cream cheese.
"No problem. I hope we brought everything you asked for," said Bloom, dipping her fries in mayonnaise sauce.
"I can get used to this," said Brandon, with a cheeky grin.
Since the squire was unable to use his hands, his girlfriend had to feed him. Stella fed him a platter of grilled chicken, ribeye steak, yellow rice, and mixed green salad. The princess also wiped the yogurt sauce off of his lips.
"You're enjoying this too much, aren't you?" Stella asked.
"I can't help it. You make everything enjoyable," flirted Brandon.
"You're too smooth," smiled Stella, continuing to feed her boyfriend.
"Helia, how is your food?" Timmy asked.
"It's edible," answered Helia, consuming his puree.
"You don't seem to like your food. Why don't you eat something else?" Stella asked Helia.
"He has a concussion, Stella. He needs to eat something that's digestible," explained Bloom.
"It's preferable for him to stick to fluids or else his condition might worsen," added Tecna, mixing her salad.
"Oh," understood Stella.
"At least you didn't get that food from the school," said Sky, holding his lobster roll.
"Helia would have died from food poisoning if he got something from here," said Riven, eating his chicken cordon bleu.
"That's terrible," commented Musa, chewing on her spicy jerk chicken.
"That's how bad our food is," said Brandon.
Suddenly, an intense scream pierced through the calm air. The joyous atmosphere was broken by this disturbance. It sounded like a man who was in excruciating pain. The students jumped and shivered when they heard this noise. Everyone became frightened and alert. They stopped and faced the direction where the scream came from.
"What was that?" Flora asked with a startled expression.
"It sounded like it came from the private ward," Brandon guessed correctly.
"That's where the girl is. Do you think she's awake?" Bloom asked.
"One way to find out," said Riven.
The daredevil stood up from his chair and drew his phantoblade.
"Riven, don't! You're in no condition to fight!" Musa shouted with a frown.
The fairy of music thought about her boyfriend's safety.
"Don't worry. I'm not crippled like everyone else," assured Riven, in a cocky tone.
"You will be if you go there," said Sky, with a disapproving look.
"Look, no one is going to stop me," said Riven, stubbornly, "I'm going to go there and give that bitch a-"
Before Riven could finish his sentence, he was interrupted by a surprise smack in the back of the head. The maverick momentarily screamed and lowered his head. He rubbed the back of his head to soothe the stinging pain. Then, he stood straight with a furious expression.
Riven shouted, "Who the hell just hit me!?" When the maverick turned around, he froze. The person standing behind him was Codatorta. When he saw the battle master, he immediately tensed up and became polite. "S-Sir," stuttered Riven.
"Sit down, lad. You're not going anywhere," said Codatorta, in a gruff tone.
Riven sat down with a disappointed look. The Winx and the Specialists secretly grinned and giggled. Shortly after this humorous encounter, Saladin and Faragonda appeared. They didn't bother to check on their students. The headmaster and the headmistress rushed across the infirmary to get to the private ward. Everyone was perplexed by this situation.
"Sir, what's going on?" Sky asked Codatorta.
Codatorta answered, "The intruder is awake."
"It doesn't sound safe there. Shall we provide assistance?" Brandon asked.
"No, everyone stay put. We will deal with this situation," said Codatorta.
Codatorta walked away from the group to join Saladin and Faragonda. The Winx and the Specialists were left with an anxious feeling.
A team of five male nurses were in the private ward, trying to control the situation. They needed to sedate her to calm her down. However, this task was extremely difficult. The nurses struggled to handle this one girl. Their presence made the girl more belligerent. Despite being strapped to the bed, she was still able to move and attack violently. The girl spat in their eyes and blinded them temporarily. She bit and scratched them enough to draw blood. Finally, one of the nurses managed to inject a high dose of sedative in her. The drug should take immediate effect after injection. However, to everyone's surprise, the sedative wasn't working. Instead of becoming relaxed, the girl became more aggressive. She headbutt the nurse who injected her with sedative, fracturing his nose. The nurse screamed and backed away. Blood was gushing from his broken nose. His colleagues rushed over to his aid. The overwhelmed nurses distanced themselves from the girl, who glared at them.
The female nurse waited outside of the private ward. She nervously paced back and forth with her knuckles pressed against her lips. She had a fearful expression on her face The nurse felt more anxious when she overheard the struggle in the room. Her heart stopped for a second when she heard the piercing scream. She wanted to go in and help, but she was afraid. Even if she did go inside, she would be useless. All she could do was wait for help. To the nurse's relief, Saladin, Faragonda, and Codatorta arrived.
"How's Doctor Butler?" Saladin asked.
"He's fine. He's receiving treatment for his injury," informed the nurse.
"How is the girl?" Faragonda asked.
"She's being aggressive to anyone who comes near her," answered the nurse.
Suddenly, the male nurses stepped out of the private ward. They were sweating and panting. They had scratch marks and bite marks on their skin. One nurse covered his broken nose with a bloodstained towel. Saladin, Faragonda, and Codatorta were surprised by their appearance.
"What happened here?" Codatorta asked.
"Doctor Butler ordered us to sedate the intruder," explained one of the male nurses, "However, the sedation was unsuccessful."
Saladin noticed the nurses were exhausted and frightened. They didn't want to return to the room and face the intruder. The headmaster understood the situation and made a decision.
"Everyone, leave," dismissed Saladin, "We will take care of this."
"Headmaster, are you sure about this? The intruder is very dangerous," said the female nurse, in a concerned tone.
"Don't worry about us. Please return to your quarter and recover," said Saladin.
The nurses obeyed the headmaster and departed.
"Sir, what is your plan?" Codatorta asked.
"I will go inside and try to talk to her," said Saladin.
"Would you like me to go inside too?" Faragonda asked.
"No, the two of you stay outside. If we collectively go inside, we will further provoke her," said Saladin.
Faragonda and Codatorta understood and let Saladin carry out his plan. The headmaster grabbed the doorknob and slowly twisted it. He did not want to alarm the intruder by quickly moving in. He silently pushed the door open and entered the room. Saladin cautiously gazed at the girl. She was desperately squirming in her bed. Suddenly, she stopped when she felt a presence in the room. The intruder turned and faced the headmaster. When Saladin came face-to-face with the girl, he froze. His pupils dilated and his heart withered. He wrapped his fingers around his staff with a firmer grip. Faragonda reacted similarly to Saladin. The headmistress gaped at the girl's conscious face. She placed her hands over her mouth to conceal her gasp. Codatorta was puzzled by their reactions. Saladin and Faragonda were haunted by the girl's eyes. The headmaster recovered from his shock and rebuilt his assertive demeanor. He placed his staff against the wall to express peace. Finally, he spoke.
"Hello, my name is Saladin," the headmaster greeted himself, "Please don't be afraid. I am not here to hurt you. You are in a safe place."
When Saladin took a step forward, the girl hissed at him. She did not believe him. After what happened earlier, she did not trust anyone. Despite her threatening aura, Saladin remained unfazed. When the headmaster approached her, the intruder became aggressive again. The closer he got to her, the more violent she became. She writhed underneath the confining energy and slammed her body against the bed. She tried to use magic, but she was shocked again. At this point, the high voltage of electricity didn't bother her anymore. She became adjusted to the pain. The girl made repetitive and futile attempts to use magic. Her desperate actions rendered Saladin and Faragonda in distress. It was painful to watch her hurt herself. The headmaster extended his hand towards her. He emitted bright energy from his hand and casted a spell on her. However, to his surprise, the spell was ineffective. Instead, the intruder continued to act belligerently. Saladin stepped away from the girl in confusion.
"I don't understand. Why didn't the headmaster's spell work?" Codatorta asked, baffled by what he saw.
"It must be the drug," guessed Faragonda.
Codatorta turned and faced Faragonda with a confused expression. "The drug?"
Faragonda nodded her in confirmation. "Doctor Butler detected an unidentifiable drug in her bloodstream. He believes this drug might be the reason for her unusual condition. If he is correct, she must have grown resistance to magical ailments."
"Then what should we do now?" Codatorta asked, seeking a solution.
After thinking for a moment, Faragonda had an idea.
Faragonda walked pass Codatorta and said, "I'll return shortly."
The headmistress rushed from the scene without wasting time.
