Hi all you freaks of nature. I'm back for another Maximum Ride FanFiction chapter. It is gonna be longer so I can make up for not updating. BTW, I am sorry for not updating. I am moving soon so I was helping pack the house.

Anyways, I hope to get more r&r so I can keep going with this story. I really am hoping to finish this soon so I can move on but it looks like it will take a while so I am gonna work really hard.

BTW, I got a new nickname which is what I'll go by now. I just won't change my current name on here so you can still find me easily.

I go by Zero, a nickname my friend gave me so I am gonna put that after I finish a chapter. Don't worry, I'll still put songs. I still want songs but I no longer need any names.

Well, tata till after.

Chapter Twelve – Ichabod.

Max P.O.V

It's been a week since Fang apologized and it is now my birthday. It nice to have Fang back. I mean, I guess he was never really gone considering it wasn't his fault.

Anyways, it was my birthday! I was turning seventeen. Yes, I know that when you go into your last year, it's usually eighteen but I skipped kindergarten, so it's seventeen for me.

I guess you guys aren't really worried about that though are you. You want to know what happened between Fang and I don't you?

Well, I might as well tell you.

Flashback to a week ago.

"Yes Fang, I do forgive you, but only be friends at the moment." He looked upset but forced a smile.

"Fine, but I don't know how long I can last like that, deary." He shot me a smirk before saying;

"I'll be there for your birthday."

He took of down the, making sure he wasn't late for practice.

End of flashback.

I can honestly say that the conversation was weird and quick.

Party.

Fang P.O.V

I walked into Max's two story house where the party had already begun. There weren't a lot of people there so it didn't take long to find her. She was sitting at the table with her sister and what looked like her mother.

Her mother had the same chocolate colored eyes as her daughter but only shared to hair trait with the younger one, which got me wondering where Max got her hair. Or her skin tone since she was lighter than the both of them.

I shook off the thought and walked up behind Max. I covered her eyes and felt her laugh.

"Fang, I know it's you. I saw your skin color before you covered my eyes," she said laughing. I huffed and removed my hands.

"You weren't supposed to see," I whined. She laughed again and stood up to give me a hug.

"I am glad you could make it."

I nodded and put my hand in my pockets.

"Well," I said, stretching the word. "Your present wouldn't shut up so I figured I'd come and give it to you."

She shot me a confused glance, not really knowing what I would get her that would make noise. I mentally smiled. She was so cute when she was confused or nervous, or both.

I blinked away my thoughts before grabbing her hand and pulling her out of the house. I made her sit on the porch while I ran to my car, grabbing her gift. I closed the door behind me and hid it behind my back. I made my way to Max and made her cover her eyes. She obediently did and I pulled the gift from behind my back.

"You can open your eyes Max." When she did, her eyes got huge and a big smile spread across her face.

"Fang, you go me a cat?" I shrugged and handed it to her. She took the black cat and held it close.

I watched her careful movements as she played with him and he latched onto her long hair. I watched as she laughed when he climbed on her shoulder and sat there. I watched as she looked up at me and smiled.

"Thank you Fang, he is cute."

I chuckled, surprised she actually said the word cute.

"Do you have a name for him," I asked watching as it sprang over to my arms.

She tapped her chin in her thought. I ran a hand through the cat's silk like fur and watched. She seemed to think it through, spelling the name in her head. Then she laughed and looked over at me.

"Yup. I'm gonna call him Ichabod. I've always wanted a cat and I wanted to name something that." She smiled and couldn't help but chuckle. This girl was defiantly something else.

I declawed Ichabod from my leather jacket, managing not to tear it, and handed him back to Max. She took him and held his small body to her chest. I watched as she repeatedly ran a hand through his fur. Finally, she looked up at me.

"We should get back inside." She looked back at the cat before meeting my eyes again.

I nodded. "I got the first things to take care of him so I'll get that after the party."

She nodded before turning and going back inside. I followed close behind, watching her.

I held Ichabod close to my chest, his small form fast asleep. The bed sank under our, more like my, weight.

It was after the party and my mother already knew I was up in bed with the cat.

To be honest, he was the best present I had gotten. I don't know how Fang knew I wanted a cat, but I guess that's why he is so important. Boyfriend or not. It's been almost three weeks since the incident in the hall and Fang already knows me like our friendship never crashed so many years ago.

A knock on my bedroom door tore me from my thoughts. I said a quick come in and a few seconds later Ella was sitting on the end of my bed stroking the cat.

"Where you thinking about him again," she asked, her voice soft. I knew who she was talking about. My father. I usually thought about him at night when it was just me, or talked about what it would be like if he was here with Ella. She understood, her father left our mom too.

See,Ella and I aren't full blooded sisters, we share the same mom, that's it. My father, my mother first husband left her after I came along, so I never I saw him, or got to know his voice. Ella's dad, the second husband, died in a plane crash coming home from a weekend business trip. Ella was six and I was seven. It hit us both pretty hard.

I was snapped back by a hand in my face.

"Uh, no Ella. It wasn't him. It was Fang and Ichabod actually." She giggled at my response and then laughed when the cat woke up and went sat on her lap. I laughed as well, pushing myself from my comfortable lying position. Finally the two of sobered up and Ella gave me a quick hug.

"Night Max, night Ichabod." She scratches his head before putting him in my arms and leaving the room. I smile and lay back in my bed.

The sound of Ichabod soothes me, but it doesn't help when my mind does decide to wonder to my dad. There are so many questions I want to ask him, but I must push them aside. He is gone, somewhere in the world probably with another female, or has another kid and a family. But never mind that, I have got my family right here. My mom, my sister, my friends, Ichabod, and Fang. I know they are here for me, and I am here for them.

I know Ichabod helped me realize that.

Guys, I'm so upset. I mean, we got rid of my dog and now I'm moving. It feels like they all knew me and think I'm already gone. It like I've vanished from all I care about most. WHAT AM I SUPPOSE TO DO?!

Anyways, hope y'all like the chapter. I have overcome writers block for this chapter. But writing about Ichabod was fun so ya. I'm sorry that it was choppy and all. I'm trying to overcome things and it is hitting hard.

Ready, Aim, Fire

Imagine Dragons

Whoa
With our backs to the wall, the darkness will fall
We never quite thought we could lose it all
Ready, aim, fire, ready, aim, fire
An empire's fall in just one day
You close your eyes and the glory fades
Ready, aim, fire, ready, aim, fire away (fire!)
Ready, aim, fire, ready, aim, fire away

Off in the distance, there is resistance
Bubbling up and festering
Hey Mr Motion, make me a potion
Shake it all up with your mystery

How come I've never seen your face 'round here?
I know every single face 'round here
A man on a mission, changing the vision
I was never welcome here

We don't have a choice to stay
We'd rather die than do it your way

With our backs to the wall, the darkness will fall
We never quite thought we could lose it all
Ready, aim, fire, ready, aim, fire
An empire's fall in just one day
You close your eyes and the glory fades
Ready, aim, fire, ready, aim, fire away (fire!)
Ready, aim, fire, ready, aim, fire away

Back in the casing, shaking and pacing
This is the tunnel's light
Blood in the writing, stuck in the fighting
Look through the rifle's sight
How come I've never seen your face 'round here?
I know every single face 'round here
Here in the heckle, holding the shackle
I was never welcome here

We don't have a choice to stay
We'd rather die than do it your way

With our backs to the wall, the darkness will fall
We never quite thought we could lose it all
Ready, aim, fire, ready, aim, fire
An empire's fall in just one day
You close your eyes and the glory fades
Ready, aim, fire, ready, aim, fire away (fire!)
Ready, aim, fire, ready, aim, fire away

Whoa

With our backs to the wall, the darkness will fall
We never quite thought we could lose it all
Ready, aim, fire, ready, aim, fire
An empire's fall in just one day
You close your eyes and the glory fades
Ready, aim, fire, ready, aim, fire away (fire!)
Ready, aim, fire, ready, aim, fire away

Well there is your song hope you like it.
