William POV

I hated this..

Today was the first day of rule change and Esme wasn't joking on any of her rules.

I dislike Esme rules so much I could just tear the chores list she gave my son and I up into shreds.

We're men.. men don't do women's work

Peter and I are currently taking turns doing the load of housework that is typically the girls job to do. While Peter vacuums every room in the house and clean the windows off, it's up to me to wash the dishes and clean the bathrooms until the floor sparkles.

"Having fun?" Esme mock, watching me clean the toilet.

I rolled my eyes. "Sure Esme, I'm having the time of my life right now!"

I will admit that I do feel the slightest bit of sorry for the girls having to do all of this work everyday. It's not like Lori couldn't do any of it, she did stay at home all day. What could she be doing if she wasn't keeping our house clean?

"Dad!" Peter called out.

"What?"

"Come here!"

I walk around to the corner, finding Peter in Lori "crafting" room.

"What is it son?" I wonder.

Peter held a breath. "I think you might wanna take a look at this.."

He handed over a file that mark "DO NOT READ" on it, obvious Lori sloppy handwriting. With an eye brow raised, I decided to open the file up and have a look.

"I'm sorry.." Peter wince.

I couldn't believe what I was looking at..

There was naked pictures inside of my wife! And that wasn't even the worst of it! There was a list of numbers with the names of men out on the side and an ad that read "Contact For Pleasure".

What the hell?!

So now I know what my wife does all day..

Peter POV

Day Six: I'm tired of cooking.

I'll never take my sisters for grated again after this experience. I never knew how hard they had it until I had to step in their shoes for a day.

"How's the soup going?" I look over at my father.

"Great.." He replied.

Dad was not the greatest chef out there.. I could tell he was trying but I was already seeing mistakes that I would never call him out for. He added garlic in the soup instead of salt and pepper, then he over cook the bread causing it to burn, and lastly he added beef to what was going to be our chicken noodle soup.

There was no hope for this guy..

And to make matters worse, we were running late on dinner this evening. Typically, the table was set by 6:15 and food was serve by 6:30 no later. It was almost 8:30..

I quickly set the table, not doing it neat as my sisters would of done it but oh well.. and help my father get the food set down. I brought out the bread, the salad, and then the drinks. Dad carried over the soup when things went down hill real fast..

"IS THAT A RAT!" Margaret scream.

And sure enough, a dark colored rodent came sprinting from the living room to the kitchen, causing dad to drop the soup all over the place when the rat ran across his foot scaring him to death while doing so..

The soup went flying everywhere and I do mean EVERYWHERE. Not only would we be force to eat bread and salad tonight, but we were going to be cleaning soup up from every corner of the kitchen you can think of.

Good going dad..

"Meredith! Mabel!" Dad shouted. "Margaret!"

Esme rush in. "What happen?"

"Dad drop the soup." I said.

Dad sighed. "Where are the girls! This is a mess!"

"Nuh uh.." Esme tick her finger back and forth. "The rules clearly state that all messes will be handle by you and Peter."

"What!" Dad fumed. "Look at this place! I can't clean this up!"

"If you don't wanna clean it up, do you really think the girls want to clean it up?"

That was it for dad to storm out of the room and minutes later slam the garage door shut. I knew after that we wouldn't see dad for the rest of the evening..

"Sorry." I told Esme. "He has sort of a temper sometimes."

Esme shook her head and help clean the mess up in the kitchen. We later decided to order pizza instead of having bread and salad and while we ate Esme tidy up.

What a great evening..

Mabel POV

It's day six and I'm about to explode..

I haven't clean in days! And the house is a wreck!

I will admit that at first it was pretty nice to relax and not feel like I have a load of work to do when I already have homework and other things, but now it just feels silly!

AND DAD PLUS PETER CANNOT CLEAN!

To start, instead of separating the clothes by color in the washer Peter just piled everything in and turn our clothes pink! Then to make things worse, father over loaded the dishwasher with soap so our kitchen flooded with bubbles all over! It took days to get it out! And finally, Peter clean the bathroom mirrors with bathroom cleaner! NOT WINDEX!

"Dad!" Peter yelled out.

No yelling..

I could hear father rush into the dining room then stop as if he was pausing for something. I made the decision to get up and see what was happening now.

I could of freak..

I walk into the dining room to see our beautiful hardwood floors ruin! The floor was all sticky, it smelt like bleach, and I could see the color fading!

"WHAT DID YOU DO!" I roared.

Peter flinch. "I bleach the floors.."

"YOU DID WHAT?!"

The others rush in and gasp.

"Now Mabel.." Dad said. "Let's calm down, okay? Peter obviously didn't mean to bleach the floors."

"DON'T TELL ME TO CALM DOWN! I'M TIRED OF OTHERS TELLING ME TO COOL IT!"

Esme put her cold hands on my shoulders and set me down on the floor. I began to hyperventilate as my body shake and I could feel my stomach turn. I tried hugging my knees to my chest, rocking back and worth, for comfort.

"Mabel are you okay?" Esme felt my forehead.

"I need to clean.." I mumble. "I need to clean.."

Esme POV

Day seven and well.. my plans aren't exactly working

After Mabel mental breakdown, we rush her to the ER where the doctor diagnose her with serve anxiety and OCD. The doctor gave her some medicine to calm her down and right this moment she in bed sleeping with a warm cloth I set over her head.

"Will Mabel be okay?" Margaret ask as I tuck her in bed.

I let out a breath. "I hope so.."

I kiss her head gently goodnight and turn out the lights. I've gotten so closely with Margaret these last two weeks that she almost like my own. Leaving her will be so hard..

Meredith quietly closed the door to her and Mabel room when I walk by. She had her pillow in one hand and her blanket in the other.

"Where are you going?" I question.

She look down. "Living room. I thought Mabel might want to be alone right now."

I nodded, understanding why she would want to give her sister some space at this moment in time. Mabel did really lose it there for a second..

"Go take my room." I told her.

Meredith open her mouth to protest but I stop her.

"I don't mind the couch, go."

She gave me a tight hug and I wish her goodnight. After a few minutes, I went down the stairs and sat on the couch. My throat began to burn with thirst. So far, hunting didn't seem like a problem. I could leave late at night and come back before anyone woke up and pretend to be sleep sometimes.

My throat tighten..

Maybe one last hunt would do me good before I finally go home in a couple of days..

Margaret POV

I tried closing my eyes but they seem to only pop right back open.

I twisted and turn in my blanket. I didn't feel the slightest bit of sleepiness not even after the day I had with my sister. I do really hope Mabel gets better soon..

And then I remember.. Esme forgot to read me a bed time story.

No wonder why I couldn't sleep! I knew that at this age I'm a little too old to be read bed time stories too, however Esme soothing voice always made me fall peacefully into sleep.

I got up from my bed and grab a book out of my book self, not really paying attention to what I grab. I walk to Esme room and soundlessly knock on the door. When I receive no answer or heard her get up from bed, I poke my head in to see Meredith in Esme bed.

Where's Esme?

I shut the door and walk all over the house trying to find her. I panic when I didn't see her, I almost woke father up when I felt a slight breeze coming from the living room. I look at the window, the seal was slightly open and I could see footprints in the dirt leading to the forest that sat next to our house.

Hmm..

Gracefully, I slip out of the window and began to follow the prints. It was dark. So dark that the moon only gave me the slightest bit of light to work with. The footprints seem to only lead me deeper in the forest before they stop and I couldn't see my way back.

I wonder around for what seem like forever..

A growling noise stop me in my tracks followed by the sound of branches breaking. Something was following me..

I kept walking despite the loud stalker and my walk turn into a run as it got closer.

And then out of nowhere, a giant mountain lion jump in front of me causing my self to step back and stumble over a branch which made me fell to my bottom.

The beast lick it's lips as it got closer to me. It gave a more hungry growl and I knew I was a goner..

The mountain lion sprang out to me when something dark push it to the side and wrestle with it. I hid behind a tree and watch inaudibly.

The dark figure finally crush the mountain lion back and sank it's teeth in it's flesh, drinking every ounce of blood until the beast was dried up. The mysterious person sat there for a minute and wipe it's mouth plus their pants off before standing up and turning to me.

I whip my head around and prayed to the lord that it didn't notice my presence.

However, I was wrong..

Esme jump in front of me and I shriek. She hush me and then I figure it out.. the dark thing that stole the animal blood was her!

"It's okay!" She soothe.

I scooted away from her, hoping that I wouldn't end up like that mountain lion.

"I am so sorry you had to witness that.."

"What are you?" I ask.

She held a breath. "A vampire."

Esme POV

Shit..

Shit..

I cannot believe this!

I was enjoying a nice little hunt when I could smell Margaret scent in the forest. Then before I could even think about what I was doing, I pounce on a mountain lion that was about to attack her.

"A vampire!" Margaret jump up.

I knew at that moment that I couldn't do anything but tell the truth. I was not able to think about a lie fast enough so I told her what was true.

I info Margaret very quickly that I was the not the typical vampire you saw on TV, my family and I are vegetarian and we care about human like than care to take it for our own pleasure. Margaret was very understanding, soaking up everything I told her like a sponge then blowing up with questions that I answered honestly.

"But you can't tell anyone!" I warn her. "No one must know or my family could be put in serious danger!"

Margaret smiled. "Don't worry Esme, I promise to never tell a soul. Your secret is safe with me."

We shared a quick tight hug before I led her back home. I tuck her in for the second time tonight, reading her a story afterwards.. I couldn't believe I had forgotten about story time! Then laid with until she fell fast asleep.

I have now decided that the next time Emmett wants to one of his game shows.. he can do it himself and not me!

Meredith POV

Esme is so cool! I wish she was my mom!

Day eight and like she promise Esme took us girls for a shopping spree while dad and Peter takes care of our chores!

She spoiling us rotten with all new clothes and shoes! Eeek! I finally got the pair of booty shorts I wanted for sooo long!

"Today was the best day ever!" Margaret beam.

Esme grinned. "Good."

"Mother going to kill us.." Mabel mumble.

I rolled my eyes. Mabel been a buzz kill all day long! She won't let Esme buy her a thing and she won't even try looking in the stores! She just stands there, moping, and complaining our ears off! I should of snuck another one of her anxiety pills in her sandwich..

"Come on Mabe." I told her. "Lighten up some."

She didn't even look at me and we continue walking.

Margaret spotted the toy store that she wanted to go into so Esme gave Mabel and I both fifty bucks and took Margaret to the kiddy store while we look around on our own.

"Hey Mabel!" I said. "Let's go get belly button piercings!"

Her eyes widen and she gave me a big fat NO!

"Come on!" I whine. "Stop being mommy little angel!"

"I am not!"

"Am too!"

She narrowed her eyes. "If I want to go get a belly piercing then I can go get a belly piercing whenever I want!"

"Then do it now!" I mock.

She fumed and walk past me.

Stuck up..

Mabel POV

I couldn't believe I let her talk me into this..

Currently, I am now in the piercing shop with my sister looking at piercings through the big glass case to prove that I am not a goody too shoe.

"Ready?" The guy ask.

Not really..

Meredith settled on a golden arrow while I made the choice to go simple with just a silver stud.

It didn't really hurt all that much.. It just felt like a little pinch and then it was over with.

"This is so cute!" Meredith screech.

I look at my belly button in the mirror and kinda of felt good about it. For once in my life, I did something rebellious. As I look at my piercing in the mirror, I couldn't help but feel a twinge of happiness that I was bad and did something behind my mother back.

I could get use to this new Mabel I seem to be turning into..

"Just don't show your mother." Esme sighed.

We both jump and I push my shirt down.

"We're sorry Esme, it's just-"

"Nope." Esme cut me off. "Your young. It's what your suppose to do, it's alright."

She paid for our piercings after we thank her a thousand times. I bought some crop tops with the money Esme handed me so I could have shirts that showed off my new piercing.

This is the best day ever!

William POV

I decided to have a little talk with Esme today outside on the patio with a cup of tea.

I've thought about it a lot and I wanted to know what went on Esme mind. Why she made Peter and I do all of the house work and why she felt like the girls were unappreciated.

I glance over at her to see her enjoying the nice weather. She had the tea cup in both hands, not taking one sip, and she look out to the forest as if she was in deep thought about something.

"Esme?" I ask.

She look at me. "Yes?"

I will say she is a very beautiful women with soft brown hair and butter scotch eyes. Unlike Lori, Esme was more natural with how she dress, her body, and her makeup.

"What are you thinking of?"

"My kids." She grin and turn her focus back on the forest. "They love the outdoors, nature and everything about the forest."

I nodded. "Do I over work my children?"

Esme was quiet for a moment, thinking about her words, before speaking in her nice honey like voice.

"At the end of the day, they're kids and they're only children once."

I could see her point but not exactly. Lori and I have always raised our kids to be young adults so that when they are adults they're responsible and intelligent.

"They will make mistakes." Esme continue. "But that's apart of life, they can't be perfect all the time."

"They're not perfect."

"But you expect them to be perfect." She said.

Esme got me there..

"Why?" I question. "Why did you make the rules the way you did?"

She took a deep breath. "Because I wanted you see how much your girls do and appreciate what they do for you while you sit and relax. If they honestly didn't do all that work you would be lost and it's shameful the way those girls are treated. A women should never feel less than a man or she'll never have the confidence to find someone that will praise her to all of her limits."

I took in every word she said and nodded my head once more. I treat my daughters like dirt and that needs to change..

"Esme?" I ask one more time. "Would I be your type?"

She laughed a deep laugh that filled the room.

"Don't get me wrong William." She told me. "You are pretty good looking but nothing compared to the blonde god like doctor I got at home. No man is better looking than my Carlisle and I will always find him to be the sexiest thing out there."

I sighed. "Understandable."

Dammit..

Esme POV

It was my last night here with the Miller family and I had promise to throw the kids a huge party.

William, to my surprise, went all out with helping. I watch him and Peter hang up decorations and blow up balloons. We let Mabel bake a cake and some cookies not wanting her to freak out on a special day like this. William even got the pool clean out so the kids could swim.

The party was a blast. We must of had about forty five kids and they all were laughing and having fun playing on the Xbox I bought, swimming, eating all the snacks, and singing on the karaoke machine. It made me proud to bring this family joy and fun for once.

"Esme." William stood next to me. "I want to thank you."

I glance at him a little shock that he wanted to thank me. I was watching Mabel interacting with some friends when he approach me.

"For what?" I said.

He beam. "For opening my eyes and bringing fun into our lives."

I smiled and patted his shoulder. Margaret ran up and hug me before running off to her friends, we both shared a chuckle together.

"Is that a piercing?" William said, looking closer at Mabel.

I pulled him away from the window. "Let's not bring that up."

And we went to check on the others..
