Damien POV

One Month Later…..

"It's been a month, and we still have nothing on whoever the hell we are supposed to be looking for." Violet said, sitting across a table from Damien and Otaru.

"Sis, two things. Firstly, language, no cursing in front of Otaru, and secondly, watch your volume." Damien replied, helping Otaru cut her pancakes.

"But I already know what hell is Pa, it's where bad people go when they die." Otaru said, looking up at Damien with the most innocent look only a child was capable of.

"Honey, that is a bad word, one that a little princess like yourself shouldn't say, and now that things have settled down a bit, I think it's time to pay that druid a visit." He said, looking across the table to Violet.

"So who goes? We can't bring Ruru with us in case it gets dangerous, and we can't leave her by herself, so one of us would have to watch her." She said, taking a bite of her banana nut muffin and sighing.

"I could stay with Jacky, he seems scary but he is actually a big ole puppy dog." Otaru said, stretching her arms out to emphasize it.

"She has a point, Jackson seems like the jock type, if anything he would be able to pick her up and run, plus like she said he has a sweet side like a puppy." Violet pointed out.

"No, I mean he really is a puppy dog inside, with pointy ears, and fur, and everything." Otaru said, looking back and forth between them.

"If you say so honey, and if you want him to watch you we have to ask him first. Now finish your food, we still have to go walking in the park." He said, finishing off his frappe and reaching for his phone to check the schedule for the day.

Five minutes later they were finished and leaving the cafe when a two people walked through the door.

One of them was a woman with caramel skin and dark brown, almost black hair. She was strangely barefoot. She clung closely to a man with shades carrying a cane, he too had dark brown hair, but his skin was ashen.

As his group walked passed them a cold, dark feeling, what he could only describe as evil, ran up his spine and instantly set him on alert, causing him to instinctively pull Otaru behind him.

Both groups stopped, and the man with the cane turned to him.

"I don't suppose you know what time it is, you see I'm blind and my associate here, Kali, forgot her watch." The man spoke in a british accent, a friendly smile on his face that did nothing to calm the inner turmoil inside Damien.

"Yeah, sure it's about to be half past eleven, by the way I'm Damien, may I ask your name sir?" He asked, mustering up all the fake pleasantry he could.

"Ah, a young man with manners, that's rare these days, my name is Deucalion. A pleasure." He said, offering another smile.

"Yes well, we really must be off, be safe." Damien said to the man, then left out the door, Otaru walking hand in hand with him, and Violet taking up the rear.

"Holy sh-crap, did you since that guy, been awhile since I felt that much evil concentrated in one man. Do you think he is the guy?" Violet asked.

"No, while evil rolled off of him in waves, he doesn't have nearly enough energy to actually concern the council. That being said, he is far from human, whatever he may be it would be wise to stay away from him." Damien said, contemplating the situation at hand.

"That man sorta reminds me of Jacky, fur, pointy ears, and everything. Though Uncle Jacx is like a puppy, he is like a big scary dog." Otaru said from beside him.

"Right, well for the moment if he isn't our guy then lets just put him on the back burner, I'll take her home and ask Jackson if he can watch her later, while you go running like i'm sure you want to." Violet said, already knowing he needed to go blow off some steam.

"Thanks sis, your amazing." He said, giving them both hugs before running in the direction of the preserve where he wouldn't likely be disturbed.

On his way to the preserve, he felt himself being drawn to the library, and figured he'd get started on the history of this town.

He made his way to the back, but his phone started to beep with a text, looking down he didn't notice the red head carrying a book until they collided.

"Ow!" "Hey,watch it!" They exclaimed at the same time as they fell.

"I'm sorry, I got a text and wanted to turn my phone off before I got in trouble, I should have been watching my step." Damien said to the red head, standing up, brushing himself off and offering a hand.

As a perfectly manicured hand touched his, he got a vision, not of images, but of a piercing scream. Like a banshee he thought to himself.

"It's quite alright, I suppose I should have been watching my step to, my name is Lydia, Lydia martin, you're new in town aren't you?" The girl, Lydia asked.

"Yep, name is Damien, me and my….family just moved to town." He said, moving them to a table at the back.

"Oh, well you must be around seventeen so you'll be a junior when school starts right?" She assumed.

"Yeah, me and my adoptive sister are both gonna be juniors, at the local high school, are you?" He asked her.

"That I am, are you into lacrosse or any other sport?" She asked, wondering where she had seen his face before.

"Well, I'm sort of into track, though I doubt I'm going to join the team." He said, instantly remembering the thousands of times he had to run for his young life.

"If you do, I'm sure you'll do great. Listen I have to go, but I'm throwing an end of summer/before school party at the end of August, why don't you and your sister come?" She said, for some reason she felt like he was meant to be there.

"Sure, we would love that, I look forward to it." He said, already imagining Violet squealing at getting to go to a party.

"Great, see you there." She said, then left in a flurry of red curls.

After she left, Damien no longer felt like he had a reason to be there.

Huh, A druid, a rogue mage, an evil man, and a banshee, sounds like the start of a bad bedtime story…..

Jackson POV

Jackson sighed for the thousandth time as he lay on his new bed. It had been a month since he arrived at his new living arrangement.

He was eternally grateful to them, but it was strange. When Damien had invited him to live with them, he had expected to be picked up by his parents, not some girl.

He fell asleep in the car ride, the day finally getting to him, but when he woke up they were pulling into the driveway of a two story victorian house, a little girl with purple hair sleeping on his shoulder.

He would have asked then what the deal was, but he got the feeling he shouldn't.

So everything was relatively quiet for a few weeks, now as he sat there thinking back, he has a feeling they aren't normal.

He wants to ask but he doesn't know how. So many questions in his head.

Where were their parents?

Whats up with the little girl who calls Damien papa?

What is he supposed to do for school?

Then there is the question that really nags at his mind and tugs at his heart.

Why are they letting him stay here, and for free at that? His own parents didn't want him, so why do they? Are they up to something?

Just as he was letting his mind truly get lost in the sea of questions, he heard a knock on his door startling him. That was another thing that makes him wonder if their really normal, he should be able to hear them coming from a mile away, but he can't.

Jackson got up and opened the door, and was greeted by Violet, a shy Otaru behind her.

"Is everything okay?" He asks, always worrying about the little purple haired girl.

"Yeah…. we just sort of need you to watch over her tonight, we have some business to take care of." She said, rubbing the back of her neck awkwardly.

"Wait, you want me to watch a kid, by myself?" He asked. Why would they trust me like that?

"Pweaz uncle Jacx? Pweazzz" Otaru said, coming to stand at Violet's side, giant, puppy dog eyes staring up at him, and every part of him that would have said no melted.Damn puppy dog eyes

"Alright, but you have to behave." He said, and no sooner did the word alright leave his lips did a purple streak slam into him, nearly knocking him over.

"Thank you Jackson, your sweet for doing this." Violet said, kissing him on his cheek briefly, before stepping back.

" Me, and Damien are leaving in an hour to go talk to the vet about a job, thanks again for this." She said before leaving, a bouncing little girl following behind her.

Oh god, what have I gotten myself into…..

Lydia POV

Lydia had been wracking her mind since this morning, trying to figure out where she had seen that boy before.

You'd think she would remember a blue haired boy with stark clarity, instead all she has is a sense of deja vu.

Then she remembered.

The day dream she had about a month ago, she asked Stiles if he had known anything about when he got out of the hospital, he had no idea.

When she recommended they ask Scott, but Stiles shot that idea down fast, saying Scott wasn't in the mood to talk to any of them, especially him.

So for the past few weeks they had been trying to figure out what was happening to her now, often staying up late at the others house, Isaac providing food, and checking on them.

She knew that it had something to do with that Damien guy, and she was determined to find out what.

Damien POV

Damien's camaro pulled into the parking lot of the building in front of the vet. For a few minutes he and Violet just sat there, preparing themselves for what was to come, having no idea if this druid was an ally or an enemy.

"Are you ready for this monkey?" Violet asked, looking over to him.

"Yeah, If it goes sideways I'll provide cover with my barriers, and you charge him. Our goal if need be is to subdue and retreat if necessary. We aren't going to start a fight." He said, looking pointedly at her.

"What, you act like i'm going to set him on fire without provocation, gah." She said, smiling slightly, causing Damien to sigh.

"Lets just go before I get a migraine." He said, opening his door and stepping out of his baby.

" I'm right behind you." Violet said, falling in behind him.

They made it to the door, and stopped. Damien took in a deep breath before opening it and stepping in.

"It's about time you got here, give me a hand with these supplies please." A bald, dark man in his forties said from across the room, a tower of boxes in his arms.

"Uhh… w-well you see, we aren't your assistant, we are…" Damien began, stuttering at the beginning.

"Yes, yes. I know who you are. Your mages on a mission from the council, now please help me with this." The man said.

"Alright, hold on." Damien said, walking over to him and taking a few boxes, Violet doing the same.

"Thank you so much, my name is Alan, Alan Deaton. As I'm sure you guessed already I'm a druid." He said after they had put the boxes up.

"No problem, so how did you know what we were, your a druid not a seer." Damien said "By the way, I'm Damien, and this is my sister Violet."

"I sensed your magic, along with that of the council's about a month ago, and figured it out, not only that but recently there has been an air of… I want to say evil around here.

"Right, my sister came to pick up a friend of ours from here, and when she saw you she realized what you are. We came here to see if you were an ally or enemy." Damien said, looking Deaton over, on the surface he appeared to be a druid, but he felt something…. older underneath.

"And? What conclusion did you come to?" Deaton asked, a knowing look on his face.

"As I'm sure you guessed, we don't think your an enemy, but I don't think your all ally either." Damien began." See, there is just something about you that doesn't feel… normal, or as normal as a druid can get, and I think you know something."

"All In do time, my friends. For now, I think it would be best if you started looking in the forest for your answers." Deaton said, folding his arms.

"And this is why I don't trust druids, all of the information, but never willing to help completely, always hiding something." Violet said, huffing slightly.

"What of you then? I can tell that underneath that typical violent fire magic of yours, there lurks something dark and powerful, that goes doubly for you Damien." Deaton said, standing up straight, arms still crossed.

"On the surface you seem like a typical water user, but dive deeper and it's like looking at an ocean. You two are just like a few other people I know, warriors with great power, but still young at heart." Deaton said, eyes flashing white for the briefest of seconds.

"That proves your not just another druid, your something more, far more. Whatever you are, it's clear to see your not evil, and neither are we.

We are just two teens trying to protect ourselves and a little girl who knows too much of the pains of this world, please just help us." Damien said, trying hard to keep the pain out of his voice.

Deaton sighed, uncrossing his arms." Alright, you have my help, follow me to my private study I keep hidden and maybe I can get you caught up on recent events." He said. and suddenly a dark presence went up all their spines, putting them on alert.

A loud scream sounded in the distance, and to their left a dark green portal opened and out stepped a battalion of twisted skeletons with glowing green eyes and swords for arms.

"What the actual fuck?" Violet said, summoning her guns and aiming for the monsters.

"My sentiments exactly." Deaton said, taking out a small black pouch, and holding it at the ready.

"Maybe they just want to talk?" Damien said, voice hopeful as he summoned his swords, and just as they manifested, a larger skeleton three times the normal ones size came rushing out of the portal, letting out a frightening howl as it barreled toward them.

Here we go...

A/N I hope you guys enjoyed the chapter, not sure if I asked yet, but do you guys think I should rewrite the first two chapters? They were not my best work in my opinion. Next chapter is in two weeks. You'll get to see more magical Stiles action and someones life might be on the line... till next time.
