Kingdom of Lovers

Chapter XII
Princess Isabella Swan:
This was a mistake, having afternoon tea with some of the ladies of the court. They'll try to eat me alive even if I'm the future queen. I asked Rosalie to stay with me, but she couldn't, so I was all alone in the snake pit.
As I waited in my sitting room, I needed to remember not to pay attention to what they were going to say to me.
The doors opened and Leah, Jessica and Lauren walked in.
"Bella it's been such a long time," Jessica gave me a fake friendly hug and sat down.
"You look beautiful, Bella," Lauren told me without looking at me.
"Thank you," I said quietly. I looked over at Leah and I knew she was holding a grudge against me. I remembered the last time I met Leah she was with Jacob and was talking about every detail of Jacob.
"So you're getting married in three weeks." Leah finally spoke up.
"Yes," I nodded.
She shrugged her shoulders, "makes no difference."
"Excuse me,"
"You didn't think he wasn't going to have a mistress did you?" Leah began to laugh, and then Jessica and Lauren joined in.
I was caught off guard when Leah told me that. It was best not to respond.
"As soon as you produce a male heir, you'll be tossed in a convent and be forgotten."
My heart burst, I couldn't fight back. I knew I had to get out of there. "Excuse me," I said non-emotionally, I stood up and went back into my room.
As I shut the door, many images clouded my mind. Could it be true? Will Jacob toss me aside? I didn't know how to feel.
I sat down on my bed trying to clear my mind, but I couldn't help but noticed a single red book standing up straight in a small bookshelf low to the ground next to my bed. I bent down to pick it up, but it was stuck. I continued to pull on it and then suddenly the book moved back. And behind me I heard the wall moving.
As I turned around I saw a secret passageway. I was amazed to see one right before my eyes. I walked over to the entrance and there was a staircase. I was so tempted to explore it. As soon as I heard Jessica knocking on my door, I knew it was time to go.
I made my way down the staircase, but as soon as I was halfway down, the wall closed and I couldn't go back the way I came.
I pushed on the wall, but it didn't budge. I would have to find another exit. The secret passageway looked ancient. It was all made out of stone and looked like it has been here for a long time.
After reaching the bottom of the stairs, there was a long passageway, possibly leading to somewhere.
I was able to see where I was going, because it wasn't pitched dark. The passageway was long. When I got to the end there were three directions. I chose the one on the right and went down that direction.
Later on I lost my way back and I knew I was in trouble.
Sir Edward Cullen:
"THE PRINCESS IS GONE," one of the guards shouted.
Everyone gasped at court.
I could tell Jacob was about to lose it.
"Relax Jacob, she's most likely lost in the castle."
"I bet your right, but we should go find,"
We all stood up and split up to go find Bella.
I decided to go to the library to start my search there. Although when I saw Lauren, Jessica and Leah together snickering, I knew something wasn't right.
I decided to speak with them, but I knew it would make me ill to my stomach, "Good Afternoon, lovely ladies," I tried not to throw up as I bowed.
They all blushed and giggled, "Hello Sir Edward," they said as they curtsied.
"Have you heard of the newly arrival Princess has gone missing."
"Oh dear, this is all new to us," Lauren acting innocent, but it wasn't fooling me.
"Are you sure?" I asked.
"Of course, Sir Edward"
"Because around the time right before she went missing, I believe she was having afternoon tea with all of you."
All of their eyes were wide in alarm.
"So ladies, would you please tell me where you last saw Princess Bella? I know Prince Jacob will be very grateful if he knew where his fiancée is." I looked at Leah, because I knew she still had feelings for Jacob even though he broke off their relationship.
"The last time we saw her was when she went back into her room." Leah mumbled.
"Thank you for time, enjoy the day ladies."
I decided to head to my room because I was able to piece this mystery together. Bella must have found the secret passageway and must have gotten lost down there.
When I got to my room, I reached underneath my bed and pulled on the latch. Suddenly the one of the walls opened up and I made my way down the stone steps with a lantern.
Princess Isabella Swan:
I need to be calm, or I'll never get out of here. When I hit another dead end, my heart began to pound hard. It was cold and wet. I felt I was in a sewer.
I knew I couldn't keep my sanity in check for much longer. I also noticed it was becoming darker and I had to follow tunnel by having my hands feeling the wall.
I soon began calling out for help, and started breathing heavily. I stopped walking and tried to get myself under control. I closed my eyes and began to think of something that will help me relax. But the only thing that came to mind…was Edward?
Just thinking about him, gave me hope. I treasured his warmth and bravery. I enjoy everything about him.
STOP, I shook my head with all of this nonsense. I shouldn't be thinking about him like this, but it's impossible to overcome. "Why is this happening to me?" she asked herself.
I need to focus my thoughts on Jacob, my fiancé, not Edward, but I was lying to myself. I had deep feelings for Edward that wouldn't disappear overnight. I truly cared for him.
Suddenly I felt a hand lightly touched my shoulders. I opened eyes and saw Edward. Was I imagining him? No he was real. I quickly through my arms around him and held him tightly.
He was stunned by my reaction to seeing him, but I didn't care.
"Are you alright Bella," he asked with his lovely musical voice.
"Thank god that you found me, I was so frightened."
"You're safe now."
Sir Edward Cullen:
Bella trembled in my arms. I kept her steady to make sure she wouldn't break down.
"Let me take you back, Jacob's worried about you." I help her up and guided her through the tunnels
"Just him?" she asked.
I was confused on what she meant, "What do you mean, Bella? We were all worried about you."
"Even you?"
She almost caught me off guard, "of course." I had to keep the tone of my voice in check.
Bella smiled a little and then tears began escaping her eyes.
"Bella, what's wrong?" watching her breaking down was making me suffer. I began to comfort her.
"It's not proper for me to say."
"I won't tell anybody, you can trust me."
"I do trust you,"
"Then tell me."
"I'm afraid,"
"Afraid of what?"
"After I produce a male heir, I'll most likely be shut away and live alone for the rest of life."
My heart stopped. After hearing Bella, I almost felt torn in two. "Did Leah tell you that?"
Bella nodded.
"Don't take what she said to heart. The only reason she said that was because she still loves Jacob."
"But it can still happen, the only main reason I'm here is to produce a male heir and then I'll mostly likely be tossed aside."
"Jacob would never do that. I won't let that happen…" I said too much.
Bella looked up. I felt a spark go off when our eyes met. Was she feeling the same way as I was?
I was holding her too close, but I couldn't control my body. Her body was crushing up against mine. She rested her hands on my chest. Her mouth was inches from mine. I could kiss her right now, it was too tempting, but I lightly pushed her away. If I kissed her, I would just be taking advantage of the situation. It wouldn't be fair to her. "I should take you back to your fiancé."
