I don't own Naruto. I only wrote the fan fiction! If some of the characters seem a little OC-ish then I'm sorry - I haven't been keeping up with the episodes so don't bug me, and I might have changed a couple things - that is another thing NOT to bug me about! There may also be other characters in this story that ARE OC so don't start telling me that I added characters...please! (Italic - thoughts, "..." is speech, and ~~ is flashback)
Sasuke's New Found Strength - Orochimaru's Disappearance
Everything was too quiet after what Kakashi said about Sasuke...had Orochimaru found them? Or was it something else? All that was heard was a small sizzling-like sound that sort of sounded like a snake.
"Do you hear that?" Kakashi asked looking around; standing up from the couch.
"You mean that sizzling sound? Yeah I hear that." Sasuke asked; also standing from the couch.
"Where is that coming from anyway?"
"How should I know?"
Kakashi paused; listening for the sizzling; hearing that it was coming from the seal that sat in front of the door. "Uh...Sasuke?"
"Yeah?"
"How do you feel?" Kakashi asked.
"Much better why?" Sasuke answered before realizing what that meant. "Oh...oh no..."
"Yeah...the seal is dissolving...and fast at that..."
Sasuke gulped. "Does that mean...?"
"I think so..."
"So what do I do now?"
"What do you want to do?"
"I dunno..."
"I might have an idea..." The man said with a sly smirk.
"What did you have in mi-" Sasuke said before Kakashi cut him off by kissing him.
He pulled away. "You talk...WAY too much Mr. Uchiha."
"B-but I-I...Kakashi-" Sasuke said before he was cut off again.
"Stop talking and just le'me do all the talking." Kakashi said as he backed Sasuke away from the couch and into a wall.
Sasuke's face and ears were a very dark red, and he felt like he could barely utter a word, but just stutter. "B-but...wha-wha-...I-I..."
"Are you planning on finishing any of those sentences at any point Sasuke?"
Sasuke was silent at that point; he couldn't trust his own words; that and he could only stutter.
There was a knock at the door that caught both the gennin's and the jounin's attention.
Sasuke slid under Kakashi's arm and walked over to the door to answer it. "Who is it?"
"Sasuke it's me Naruto."
Sasuke opened the door to see Naruto, Seri, and Sakura. He sighed and smiled. "Hey guys."
"Hey!" The three said; each with a bright smile on their face.
"What's up?"
"We were wondering if you were up for some training. Are ya?"
Sasuke looked back at Kakashi; now leaning on the wall. He nodded. "Sure gimmie a sec to get ready alright?"
"Ready?"
"Yeah...I'd rather NOT training in cloths I wore in the hospital..."
"Why not you look fine."
"I don't like the hospital."
"Oh."
"Just gimmie a sec okay?"
"Yeah sure."
"Come inside."
The three nodded and followed Sasuke into the house.
The boy walked down the hall to his room to get changed.
Naruto and Sakura sat down on the couch while Seri stood next to where Naruto sat.
"I wonder what's going on in Naruto's head. I hope he's not too worried about Sasuke." The girl thought as she looked at Naruto; her eyes full of worry for the boy.
Sasuke walked back down the hall to see the four starring at him. "What?"
"S-Sasuke?" Sakura stuttered
"What?"
Seri pointed behind him. "Why don't ya look behind you?"
Sasuke turned to see a large white snake. His eyes widened. "What the hell is that?!"
Naruto stood and grabbed Seri and Sakura's hand; fully knowing what his sensei was going to tell him, and he ran out of the house.
Kakashi slightly smiled at first; only for it to fade after looking in Sasuke's direction. "I didn't even have to tell him what to do...he's getting good at reading my face, but Sasuke on the other hand...*sigh* why won't people just leave the poor kid alone?"
Before Kakashi could walk toward Sasuke, the boy (very) quickly formed hand signs; hand signs so fast that not even Kakashi with his sharingan could read his movement; making the man's eyes widen with amazement.
Sasuke's hand was engulfed in flame; a jutsu Kakashi hadn't seen before; a jutsu nobody's ever seen Sasuke perform.
The next second the boy's body was covered in an odd blue aura that looked like visible chakra.
"Whoa! What is that? Could this be the Ten-Tails' chakra? It's powerful, big, and full of...fear? Anger? No. That's none of those things. That's...pure instinct; not even Sasuke himself was expecting that to happen, that much I can see."
Sasuke had sliced the white snake in half with his blazing hand; making the snake disappear. He fell to his knees; moving at the whim of his tailed beast was nothing of which he planned to do at all. "I think it' over, but it was just a clone...and aside from that...what was that? How I did that I guess I'll need to figure out one way or another."
Kakashi knelt beside the panting gennin. "You okay? You look pretty tired after that...even though you just used one jutsu..." The man questioned.
Sasuke nodded; still trying to catch the lost breath taken from him by the rapid movement he had done before; unable to speak for the moment.
"Do you still wanna go train?"
The boy nodded.
"Are you sure? You really don't have to push yourself just to make your team mates and your sister happy; you could hurt yourself."
Sasuke nodded once again.
Kakashi found that there was no reasoning with the gennin any longer. He had to let Naruto, Seri, and Sakura know that everything turned out okay. He stood and outstretched his hand for Sasuke. "Here at least le'me help you up."
Sasuke pushed the jounin's hand away and stood up on his own; still not saying a word.
"C'mon...let's go meet the other three."
Sasuke nodded and walked to the door; only to stop and turn to see his sensei's face; so full of concern.
"You know what I'm going to say don't you?" Kakashi asked as he lowered his gaze to the floor.
"I think so..." Sasuke replied as he slightly turned away.
"Do you have a sec Sasuke?"
Sasuke nodded. "Yeah...sure." He said as he leaned against the door.
"I believe that the seal that holds the Ten-Tails inside you is beginning to weaken, and you and I both know that's not a good thing."
Sasuke was silent; patiently waiting for Kakashi to finish what he's saying.
"Maybe before we go out there...we should fix that seal."
Sasuke nodded. "Right." He said moving away from the door.
Kakashi opened the door and lead Sasuke outside to a lake close by. "Go sit in the center."
Sasuke did as he was told and without a sound walked to the center of the lake and sat down.
Kakashi walked across the water and stood behind the gennin. "This will only take a second."
"Okay."
The jounin formed a long set of hand signs; making a black symbol of water form around them. He squatted next to his student. "I need you to do me a favor; for the sake of time; and take your shirt off."
"Alright." He said before taking his shirt off and throwing it to a rock; making sure it didn't get wet.
"Thanks...this might hurt for a bit so you may not want to put your shirt back on."
"Okay."
The symbol on the surface of the water turned to a gold-ish color as Kakashi placed one hand on the seal and held the other hand in the form of chakra concentration sign.
In a very instant a serious pain surged through Sasuke's entire body; making him let out a loud scream.
Kakashi winced; he hated to hear Sasuke in pain or to even cause him pain. "To think...if you sealed the Nine-Tails it wouldn't hurt Naruto, but then why does it hurt Sasuke if he has a tailed beast too? Is it because the Ten-Tails is stronger than the Nine-Tails? Or is it something else?" The man thought as he finished the sealing jutsu. Kakashi took his hand off the seal and stood back to give Sasuke some space.
Although it hurt; Sasuke didn't fall unconscious; which surprised Kakashi.
"He took all that?! And he didn't pass out?! This kid can take a lot of pain..."
Sasuke's eyes slowly opened as he felt the surging pain lessen. He let his chakra settle with a sigh and his eyes shut again; making him sink into the water and below the symbol that had disappeared after Kakashi finished the jutsu. He came back up and shook the water out of his hair after he climbed out of the water.
Kakashi walked across the water to the shore where the gennin had lied down; face planted in the grass. "Are you alright Sasuke?"
The boy lifted his head. "Not really..." He said before letting his face fall into the grass once again.
"You do realize that Naruto, Seri, and Sakura are probably worried sick about right?"
"Yeah, but I don't think I should walk right now..." Sasuke said; his voice somewhat muffled by the ground.
Kakashi chuckled. "C'mon...le'me give ya a lift then."
"Okay fine..." He said getting up.
Kakashi lifted Sasuke onto his back; picking up his shirt on the way to the training field.
As the jounin approached the field Naruto caught sight of him carrying Sasuke; the gennin's head down.
Naruto's eyes widened; to see his best friend in this condition. "W-what happened?"
Naruto's question caught Seri's and Sakura's attention. "What?" They asked as their heads turned to see Sasuke basically unconscious on Kakashi's back. "S-Sasuke?"
"Big brother?"
Kakashi walked over to a tree and set Sasuke down to rest.
Seri ran over. "What happened to my brother?"
Kakashi patted the girl's head. "He's gone through too much for his age...sometimes there's no explanation for things that happen."
The young Uchiha sat by her brother and brought his head to her shoulder. She looked like she could break out in tears at any second, but a hand stopped her - Sasuke's. Her eyes widened; looking down at her hand to see Sasuke's hand grasping hers. She smiled. "Are you feeling better big brother?"
A small smile crept onto the boy's face. "Sort of..."
"I think you just needed a little sleep is all."
"You're probably right."
"All he needed was sleep, and of course...his little sister...how sweet." Kakashi thought as a warm smile found its way to his lips.
Sasuke stood with his sister; leaning against the tree not having his full strength back yet. He decided to practice with jutsu first (even though that might not be the best idea, but it is his decision). He started forming hand signs as he prepped a fire style jutsu.
Kakashi saw the gennin forming fire style hand signs and made targets appear. "Let's see if you can control your fire to act like projectiles."
"Let's." Sasuke said before letting out shuriken-shaped fire balls; each one hitting and burning a target.
The four stood in shock as they saw each shuriken-shaped fire ball hit and burn a target.
"H-how can-?" Sakura started to ask before Sasuke formed more fire style jutsu hand signs.
He let more fire out from his mouth that looked like a lot like senbon needles that flew past Kakashi's face; almost touching his mask; hitting a dummy; making it burst into flames.
As the dummy burned Naruto walked over t his friend and stood next to him. "What jutsu was that?"
"A jutsu I created myself."
"What's it called?"
"Fire Blaze Weapon Jutsu."
"That was really cool ya know big brother!"
"Hehe thanks Seri."
"Sure." She said with a bright smile.
"You shouldn't push yourself Sasuke." Kakashi said as he walked toward the gennin.
"I know...I'm fine though."
~Flashback~
It was sun set. Sasuke was out and about running errands for his aunt and uncle as usual. He had just finished them and was on his way home to bring his aunt and uncle stuff that they had asked for. He got to their house and knocked on the door. No answer. "Aunt? Uncle? Are you guys home?" He asked before the door slowly opened after knocking...even though no one had opened the door. "What is going on here?" He thought as he cautiously entered his Aunt and Uncle's house. Some of the lights were broken and glasses were shattered; making Sasuke worry. "Aunt? Uncle?" He called out again. No reply again. "Something's not right here..." He thought before entering the kitchen...no one there. He put the stuff that they asked him to get on the table as he usually would and decided to investigate. He walked to the wash room...no one there either. "This is getting weird..." He thought as he walked down the hallway; only to stop after hearing a scream and the sound...of bloodshed. He flinched and stepped backward, but he stopped himself and walked forward to their bedroom. He reached the door and went to open it, but hesitated. "What happened in there? I wonder what's going on. Are they alright?" Sasuke thought; his mind was racing with questions. He finally decided to open the door, but when he did...he wasn't so sure he wanted to ever let his curiosity get the best of him again. The site he saw was probably one of the most scaring site the boy had ever seen. Horrified; he bolted from the house and ran home. He got to his house and ran inside...hearing a scream, but no bloodshed. "This is bad! I need to do something about what's going on!" He thought as he approached the family room door. He gulped and opened it slowly; only to have the urge to run in and stop whatever was going to happen. "Mother! Father!" He yelled as he came to a stop to see them tied up in the center of the room; back-to-back. His eyes widened; this site was even worse than the last...or at least that's what he thought until he saw his brother walk out of the shadows; katana in hand.
The elder brother had risen his sword and brought it down...killing the very people that he and his younger brother held dear to their hearts.
Sasuke became enraged. "Why? Why would you do this?!" He asked; his voice showing very little anger, but more of fright.
"That is nothing of your concern now is it?" The elder brother questioned.
"It is if you're gonna KILL everyone!" The boy yelled. At this point Sasuke was done with idle talk, and he decided to take action. He ran at his older brother with full intention of killing him for what he's done; only to be stopped by his brother with a swift punch to the gut. Sasuke fell to the floor; half winded. He stood as if he had just jumped out of a tree and ran full sprint out the door out of fear of being killed by his older brother. Everything around him seemed to be dying. He stopped; seeing his brother standing in his path of escape. He tried to step backward, but his legs wouldn't move...he thought he was going to die...
~End of Flashback~
"Sasuke! Hey! Snap out of it!" Kakashi yelled as he shook the boy in attempt to snap him from his trance. The jounin saw tears flowing from the gennin's eyes as the boy starred wide-eyed into nothing. Sakura, Naruto, and Seri had already left for the day.
"Sasuke!"
Sasuke's sapphire orbs lit up, but before they could shine any brighter he blinked out of his trance.
Kakashi stopped and starred at the boy in shock; totally confused and amazed at what happened with Sasuke's eyes. "S-Sasuke?"
Sasuke shook his head and put his face in his hands. "What?"
"Are you okay?"
"I-I-I...I don't know." Sasuke said; his voice cracking a couple times.
Kakashi wrapped his arms around the distressed Uchiha and put his cheek against the top of his head. "It's okay...I gotcha...I gotcha. You're okay...Calm down...everything's going to be okay." Kakashi said in attempt to calm Sasuke down. "Just take a couple deep breaths okay?"
The boy nodded and took Kakashi's suggestion.
"How about we do a little training huh?" Kakashi asked slightly pulling away so he could look into Sasuke's blue eyes. He saw a small light in the gennin's eyes.
Sasuke nodded. "Okay."
Kakashi let go. "What do you wanna start with...seen as how you've basically mastered fire style jutsu...did you maybe wanna work on another nature of chakra?"
Sasuke thought for a moment. "Sure. That sounds like a challenge, and I'm up for a good challenge."
"Now that's the Sasuke I know."
Kakashi decided to teach Sasuke the chakra nature of lightning. He started by having a large group of clones appear in front of him. "Now watch me. I'm not going to hit the clones; I'm just going to show you how to perform the jutsu."
"Okay, but what's the jutsu called?"
"Chudori; also known as 1000 birds, and lightning blade. It has a lot of names depending on how you go about mastering the nature."
Sasuke used his sharingan to study each hand sign that his sensei made and made sure to study each movement he made along with it.
Lightning erupted in the palm of the jounin's hand; although it was just a strong amount of chakra.
"Whoa! That's cool, and I'll be able to do that?!" Sasuke thought as he watched his sensei perform the jutsu.
Kakashi finished his demonstration of Chudori and turned to see Sasuke; sharingan still out from when he had been studying his movements. He chuckled. "What's with the face?"
"I'll get to do THAT?!"
"Yup...if you practice enough." Kakashi said with a smile.
"When can I start?"
Kakashi chuckled at Sasuke's excitement. "Now if you want. We can get a little training down tonight and do a little more tomorrow...unless you wanna start tomorrow?"
"Could we start now?"
"Of course we can. I love the enthusiasm by the way."
Sasuke cracked a smile.
"C'mon...show me what you can do."
Sasuke nodded; a confident smirk firm on his lips. "Let's do this."
Kakashi watched as Sasuke formed the hand signs; not making a single mistake. "He's just like me...in so many unusual ways..." Kakashi thought as he watched each clone disappear from the Chudori.
~Flashback~
Kakashi had been practicing this jutsu for a while now, and still it wasn't complete...it needed more power, more chakra, and more...meaning; as if he were meaning to protect someone...someone...important to him.
"Kakashi!"
Kakashi turned to see his team mate - Obito Uchiha waving to him.
He nodded and continued his training.
"Why are you out here so late...and alone?"
"Individual training - I need a little more practice with a jutsu I've been teaching myself."
"Ah I see...do you need any help?"
"Unless you want to die then no."
"Oh...okay then...would you mind if I just watched you then?"
"I guess not...just be quiet please."
"Sure thing." He said as he climbed up on a rock to watch.
~End of Flashback~
Sasuke finished off the clones and stepped back from the cloud of former clones. He was pretty much worn out...even though it was only one blow of Chudori. "How...was...that?"
"That was pretty good; you're learning pretty quickly, but you need to learn how to control it better. We'll work on that more tomorrow though so-" Kakashi stopped at the sight of the same blue aura from when Sasuke got rid of the white snake clone had engulfed the gennin once again. "What the-?"
Sasuke had gritted his teeth and fallen to the ground; his knees hit the grass as pain surged through his body; hitting his spine the hardest. This time; instead of just having one tail; another tail emerged from the aura around him; his claws growing in along with his fangs; as for his eyes; they had formed the same sharingan from his dream, but this was actually happening this time; it wasn't some dream that felt so real.
Kakashi walked over to him and placed a hand on the boy's shoulder. "Hey..." He said crouching so that their eyes met.
Once Sasuke saw the calmness of Kakashi's eyes; his eyes mirrored that same calmness as he forgot all pain that had been surging through him before. He continued to stare into Kakashi's eyes.
"Calm down...concentrate on the task given to you...never forget those words if you EVER turn into this again and I'm not around...alright?"
Sasuke realized that he could control the Ten-Tails a little as he listened to Kakashi speak. He nodded as a reply to the man's question.
The jounin smiled and threw a kunai. "Catch it."
At that very moment when Kakashi gave him an instruction; Sasuke's eyes darted to the kunai. He bolted ahead on the kunai and instantly caught the projectile.
Kakashi's eyes widened as soon as he saw the kunai be stopped by Sasuke. "He has that much control ALREADY?!" Kakashi thought as he watched Sasuke calmly walk back; kunai in hand.
"Here...I-I caught it." Sasuke said as the aura started to disintegrate away from him. He handed Kakashi the kunai knife. "How'd I do?"
"How'd you do?" He repeated pointing at the kunai in Sasuke's hand.
Sasuke looked down; Kakashi hadn't taken the kunai yet.
"Le'me see that..."
Sasuke handed him the kunai. "Here."
Kakashi put the weapon back in his kunai holster. "You did the great." He said with a warm smile.
Sasuke smiled. "Thanks...I was just surprised that I could control the Ten-Tails chakra enough to do that."
"Well you sometime tend to underestimate yourself ya know Sasuke."
A small blush flashed across the gennin's face as he scratched the back of his head. "Eh heheh...I-I guess I never noticed..."
Kakashi put his arm around Sasuke. "C'mon...let's go home shall we?"
"Sure."
