I do not own Invader Zim or Men in Black okay? I know I should be updating some stuff I said I would finish before summer, but hey, what hits you is what hits you and I only have so much time to finish stuff what with all the work I have to do these days. But anyway, enough of this A/N, on with the fic!

"You still haven't told me what the hell is going on!" Tenn panicked as she turned in the seat and saw the two glowing Meekrob behind them as Dib drove around traffic, avoiding every car he could at speeds that clearly would get anyone else a massive ticket and license taken away. "Are those Meekrob following us?"

Dib rolled his eyes, knowing that Tenn while a former Invader, was bound to be scared to death at what was happened, paged Zed. "What is it Agent D? We've got the garage open to receive and the area patrolled in Meekrob try to do anything so just get here asap!"

"Can I just tell Tenn what is going on? Does she really have to have a heart attack before we get there?" Dib asked.

"Oh god one of those is charging up!" Tenn said. "Do you have anything in here?"

"Like what?" Dib said as he drove the car on the sidewalk, causing pedestrians to jump to either side of it. "Last time I did something like this was when Gaz beat me up for trying to play her copy of GTA..." He then called out, "Zed, you sure I'm not going to get into trouble for this?"

"No sir Agent D, that's what complete deniability is for. Besides New Yorkers don't think. You know that." Zed said as he headed down the road.

"Is this the best you got?" Tenn said, Invader instincts kicking in, looking like a human girl holding the Noisy Cricket that was in the glove box.

"They... they wouldn't let me anything bigger." Dib said.

"Just hope you don't say that to all the ladies." She said as she took it in her hand, dove into the backseat and rolled down the window, taking aim on the Meekrob following them. "Suck whatever the hell this thing sends out." She said as she focused on them and pulled the trigger, causing a large pulse of energy to come out and knock her back against the center consul and look up at Dib with a smile. "Well, that sure kicked me one. I guess it's not all size that matters."

Chowfun and Lomein were follow when they got hit by the blast, freezing them in place, causing their systems to perform what could only be likened to a rest and send them back to where they had set up a home base, not too far from the library. It took a lot for a Meekrob to "die" as they were pure energy and needed to be totally obliterated or decide they served their mission in life and was content to disappear for good. "What happened?" Chowfun said as he looked around and saw they were sent back to where they had established themselves.

"I think things got more complicated. And Tenn had attacked us with some energy ray from a tiny gun." Lomein said.

"I'm going to need to recharge but we are going to have to rethink this whole thing if we want to destroy Tenn for what her people did to our planet." Chowfun said.

"Sure, sure. I think I'll rest too..." Lomein said. Although she did leave of her own accord. If I heard correctly, she was abandoned by her Tallest. Lomein thought as he fell into what could be considered sleep.

Dib pulled into the garage that shut behind them and sighed. He opened the door to get out and slid back down on the edge of the car with an exasperated sigh. "Fighting Zim never got that exciting, never."

"Because Zim is an idiot. Every Invader knows that." Tenn winked.

"So, no longer pretending to be Tennisha?" Dib laughed.

"I think you know more about me than you are letting on." Tenn laughed playfully. "But the fact you were trying to get me to safety is really sweet." She said as she kissed him on the cheek again.

"So, you are a real intergalactic Romeo after all?" Agent J laughed as he and Agent K came up to help him and Tenn to Zed's office to give a debriefing on the situation.

"Oh will you just shut up on that." Dib said as he got up. "I didn't see you driving a V8 engine down the sidewalks of New York while not committing vehicular manslaughter. Someone had to make sure Tenn was safe."

"Good work there D." Agent K said.

"This looks kind of like MIB headquarters." Tenn said. "I was here when I first came to this planet."

They walked down the halls, each with their own thoughts. Agents J and K, not being on the front lines of the battle of the Mexican restaurant were thinking of just how to proceed from the Meekrob attacking, but Dib and Tenn were each thinking about other things. Dib, not only in addition to feeling knocked down a few pegs on the alien fighting skills he learned from trying to stop Zim, also cared a lot about Tenn. Her dossier had the whole story of her background before coming to Earth, which he had to know inside and out to know just what might offend her or she might still like. She was one of the top Invaders the Irken Military had and was sent to Meekrob as if she was able to hand that planet to them, the Empire would nearly double in size as Meekrob's Empire would become theirs as well. What sent her to Earth was a mixed up shipment of a Mechadoomer for Malfunctioning SIR units and the Tallest refusing to help her out after they destroyed her base, leaving her exposed. He looked over at her and knew she must be feeling frustrated if not overwhelmed. He did not like the idea of any alien trying to conquer any race, part of why he tried so hard to defend the Earth from Zim, despite his apparent incompetence. But it was sort of like why he couldn't be so mad at Tak. Both had their goals and dreams in life and they worked hard and were good at what they did. But something stopped them and got in the way of that. Tak's case a stuck door, Tenn's malfunctioning equipment. Simple things. And in that fact, he could relate and understand. I wonder if Dad has even noticed I haven't been at the house since I got this job. I mean it's not like he noticed when I was a kid what happened unless it was something that would make him look bad. Dib thought.

Tenn, still in her human disguise, walked down the hallway clenching her fists. She wanted to scream. This was supposed to be her chance to start over and have a nice quiet life. She could put up with Jeebs till she had her money saved up to move out. She would overlook the fact he was selling weapons to the Resisty. She could resist the urge to join them for what the Tallest did by completely dismissing her when she needed them the most. Just a little peace and quiet. She wasn't an Invader, despite that being her dream since she was a smeet. She looked over at Dib, putting together that he wasn't just some guy who talked with her a lot at the library and that he was actually an agent here, she didn't know to be mad or grateful. He didn't tell her about his MIB role but at the same time, the type of agency it was, she didn't expect that their agents would parade around the fact. But she wanted to be mad at something. Growling, she kicked him in the side of the leg.

"What was that for?" Dib asked rubbing his leg.

"Not telling me you were a Men in Black agent." Tenn sulked.

"You're an Invader." Dib said.

"How do you know that?" Tenn said haughtily, using rage to hide her frustration and hurt.

"You came here as a refugee and we spotted some suspicious Meekrob activity. I was to make sure that nothing was happening with you that shouldn't be. So since you were posing as the young new librarian, Zed, J and K came up with the brilliant idea for me to ask you out." Dib said. "Now think, if you came here and applied as a refugee, you had to tell them everything on why you were needing to do that."

"Yeah." Tenn said. "So?"

"So you think they wouldn't have told me that?" Dib said.

"I guess so." Tenn sighed. "But when I lost my base and had to flee, I just lost my whole life's goal of being an Invader. When I got assigned Meekrob, I was overjoyed. It meant the Tallest had enough faith in my skills that they thought I could make the second biggest Empire in the galaxy Irken. Then they leave me for dead." She looked away as she felt tears well up in her eyes. "So when I get here I try to start over and just have a simple life of my own. Peace and quiet. Now I can't even have that!" She yelled as J and K looked back at them. "Sorry..."

"No, don't be." Dib said. "You're right to feel like you are. I'd feel the same way. To have everything you ever worked for ignored and when it is of some use you can't say anything about it. To have your dad keep saying to everyone you're insane when he won't accept the possibility that humans aren't the most advanced beings there could be and if there were races more advanced than us they would have found ways around the limitations of the speed of light. I mean it's like giving a quantum physics problem to a preschooler in an analogy. But he's content to stay in the scientific equivalent of preschool as long as he is the smartest and most brilliant preschooler."

"Wow. Sorry." Tenn said. "If your dad is like that, you're smarter than him." She said as she gave him a hug. Dib turned and returned the hug.

"I think you need this more than I do. My dad issues are my own. You're the one whose actual life is under attack because you wanted some peace and quiet." Dib said.

"You're sweet. No one's ever thought of me like that." Tenn sighed.

"How about it's because of the things I had to go through for thinking different that made me that way." Dib said. "The one counselor I had that didn't run off with Plookesians said that I had some sort of savior complex which stemmed from my mother dying when I was very little and my dad never knowing what his house looks like because he spends all his time at work. In fact I think he slept on a cot in his office more than his actual bed."

"That sucks." Tenn said as they arrived at Zed's office.

"Okay you lovebirds," Zed said as Dib slightly blushed at that idea, and noticed Tenn blushing too. "I need to know what happened."

"Just like what you heard in the car over here." Dib said slightly annoyed, "We got attacked at the restaurant, I had to get Tenn over here to safety and she hit the Meekrob with that Noisy Cricket in the glove box and that got them off our tail long enough to get here safely."

"I see." Zed said looking at Tenn. "Agent D, I think you and Tenn should stay on the base tonight until we see if the Meekrob try anything again. Besides, she seems enamored with you."

"SHUT UP!" Dib and Tenn yelled.

"I was young once too. Don't forget that." Zed said. "Here." He said as he pulled a bottle of bourbon from his desk and poured both of them a glass. "You need something to help your nerves after that. Good work on your first major mission though D."

"That was your first?" Tenn asked with wide eyes.

"Well for these guys yes..." Dib said.

"And you did great." Zed said knowing Dib's nerves were bound to be shot after that experience and needed a confidence boost.

"I'm impressed." Tenn smiled.

"Thanks guys." Dib said.

"You two relax, I've got to take this to the other staff so we can come up with some plans, negotiate some treaties with Meekrob, that sort of thing." Zed said as he got up and headed out of his office.

"Good luck with that one." Tenn said.

"Huh?" Dib asked as he took a sip of the bourbon, feeling the stiffness in his neck and tingling from the stress start to ease up.

"Meekrob is more of a jerk than Irk can be. Irk can be negotiated with if you know what they want. Meekrob, knows what they want. And they will get it. And they want me dead for what Irk tried to do." Tenn said as she took a deep drink, emotions flying all over the place in her mind.

"Not if we have anything to say about it." Dib said as he hugged her close.

"You're either the bravest or dumbest person I have ever met." Tenn laughed.

"Those lines tend to cross a lot..." Dib sighed.

So how was that? Good? Bad? Short? Long? I don't write long action scenes but Tenn's instincts were going to kick in in that. And yeah she seems pretty enamored with Dib after that one. I am trying to get my updating up better, but with working two jobs and school, it's just not going to happen so often till after April. And that will be if I don't drive myself insane before then. But hey, if I get a day off I will usually use that to type a new chapter. So anyway remember to read (well you just did) and to review. Ciao for now,
