Jo woke in the middle of the night to find the bed empty. She turned to the bedside to look at the time and was reminded of her nightly activities. Everything in her body was deliciously sore, her lips were swollen and she was pretty sure her skin would be sporting some bruises soon but she felt great. She felt fantastic actually.

Jo wasn't some prude. She had had good sex in the past, hell she had had great sex. But sex with Happy had been something else entirely. His knowledge of her body and how to pleasure it, the feeling of completeness when he was inside of her, the magnitude of her orgasms? Never before had she experienced something so intense with anyone. And it hadn't just been a connection of bodies, it had been a connection of minds and souls.

She looked at the time and realised it was only four a.m. She stepped off the bed, picked up Happy's tee-shirt on the floor, throwing it on quickly and went searching for him.

They hadn't talked much after he'd made her come for the third time. They'd both been spent and after settling back at the top of the bed, he'd quickly closed his eyes and fell asleep. He'd looked exhausted. She'd spent a long time looking at him, lightly grazing his chest with her fingers, almost afraid to close her eyes in case he disappeared. She found him in the kitchen, leaning against the countertop in an effort to stretch his back. It was something she had seen him to many times in Norwood whenever the pain was getting to him. He heard her and tensed but did not move as she approached and circled his waist with her arms, kissing his spine.

"You okay?"

"I'm good Doc." There was a sharp edge to his voice as he replied.

"Is it your back?"

"I said I'm good Jo."

Jo had been around Happy for long enough that she knew how he worked. Sharing his pain with her while she was his physiotherapist was one thing. Sharing it with the woman he'd just spent the night ravishing was another story. He was a very proud man and right now it was his pride that prevented him from telling her the truth.

She kissed his shoulder, capturing his hand in hers. "Come back to bed with me."

"Jo..." He started in protest.

"Please." She pleaded with a smile as she pulled him by the hand. He followed her back reluctantly to the room and settled back into bed as she sat up next to him.

"Hap', one of my favorite things about you is your strength. You are the strongest person I have ever met. What you've been through in the last year, it would have destroyed most people. But you're here. You came out the other side. I know you're a proud man Hap, I respect that, I like that. But admitting you are in pain…

He opened his mouth to speak and she put her fingers on his lips stopping him. "Admitting you are in pain doesn't make you weak. Quite the opposite actually. Don't hide your pain Hap. Especially not from me. Never from me. "

He clenched his jaw and she knew he was listening. He didn't like it but he was hearing every word.

She kinked her eyebrows. "Besides you're completely overseeing the main advantage in sleeping with a physical therapist."

"What's that?" he sniggered.

She leaned towards him suggestively, whispering in his ear. "Best massages on the planet."

A smile played on his lips as he shook his head. "Stubborn little bitch."

"I've been called worse. Mostly by you actually." She pointed out. "Come on, indulge me. I'll make it worth your while."

She winked and he let out a chuckle.

"Turn around."

This time, he didn't protest. He turned to lie on his stomach as she asked and she opened her bedside drawers, reaching for massage oil. She dropped a few drops on him and he shuddered when the cold liquid made contact with his skin. She stretched her leg and sat on his bum. With firm hands, she began to rub his lower back, capturing tissue between her fingers and squeezing pressure points to bring him relief. As she worked on him, she could feel him begin to relax underneath her. She shuffled down his body and did the same for his legs, massaging energetically, pressing her palm onto his tired muscles. When she knew he was completely relaxed, she pulled his tee-shirt above her head, threw it across the room as he turned to her.

"Tttt." She reprimanded. " Head down."

Surprisingly, he did as told and she leaned forward, her breasts softly grazing his skin as she kissed her way up his spine, her hair tickling him.

"You're a fuckin' witch." He said in a laugh.

She bit his neck playfully, moving to his ear, neck, shoulders kissing every inch of skin in his back. He shifted under her and she moved allowing him to turn so they now faced each other.

She could feel him growing harder, the fabric of his boxers, the only obstacle between him and her. He tried to sit up but she pressed on his shoulder and shook her head with a sly lips returned her smile and he laid back putting his hands beneath his head and watching her. She grazed his collarbone tattoo with her finger before she leaned in and kissed every letter, darting her tongue across his chest, swirling it around his nipples. She looked back at him, meeting his eyes , seeing something new in their darkness and felt herself blushing, suddenly self-conscious. She sat back up but his strong hands grabbed her face and brought it closer, kissing her to within an inch of her life.

She felt him getting harder against her and moved back to stroke him, her eyes locking with his again.

"Jo..." He groaned under her touch.

She pulled his boxers down, freeing him. He closed his eyes and she reached and open the drawer again, retrieving a condom. She opening it quickly and rolled it on him for the second time that night. Very tenderly, she guided him into her, lowering herself onto him and his hands flew to her hips as he dug into her flesh. She took his hands in hers and laced her fingers thought his as she rocked her hips, undulating over him until they found their pace.

Her skin was on fire, pleasure shooting through her entire body as he filled her completely. She leaned her head back, closing her eyes, basking into the numerous sensations coursing through her. He was completely possessing her, she was his entirely and he was hers.

She suddenly felt a need to feel him deeper, harder. Letting go of his hands, she pushed against his chest to lift herself up slightly and went back down on him. He opened his eyes in a flash and, grabbed her hips, helping her as he lifted her off and slammed into her again and again...

"Yes! Happy! Yes!" She cried out as she ground her pelvis onto him and he matched her move one for one.

Jo felt her body suddenly tighten as her climax built, preparing to explode and she did. She clamped around him, giving into the spasms that ran through her body as Happy pushed into her one last time joining her as his dick pulsed and he came in a hiss. She finally let herself fall back on him, breathless and he shifted from under her, kissed her head before heading into the bathroom. He was back in a flash and opened his arms around her. "Come here Doc."

She laid her head on his chest and he pulled her close, closing a fist in her hair as they finally closed their eyes and let sleep envelop them.

Jo stopped at the threshold of the door and took a deep breath as she summoned her courage to walk into the room. She hadn't seen Happy since their conversation on the parking lot following her disaster date.

She had a couple days off long overdue and she had been grateful when Jamieson had agreed to cover for her at the drop of a hat. She realised now she'd needed the distance. A friend of hers from college owned a B&B in Coos Bay and Jo had decided to take the opportunity to get out of town and clear her head.

She was all to aware that her attraction to Happy could jeopardize her career. She had kept her promise to get him back on his feet and he was there. He could now walk unassisted using his crutches and it wouldn't be long before he was rid of those altogether. She'd been true to her word. She could walk away, tell Graeme to assign him a new therapist. She should walk away. But something was preventing her from doing what and during her time off, she'd been able to pinpoint exactly what it was. She had missed him while she was away. Really missed him. She had gotten so used to his presence in her life that faced with his absence, she'd felt this empty spot in her life. She hadn't seen it coming. She hadn't seen the feelings she now clearly had for him creep up on her, day after day. She had convinced herself she was doing everything she was doing for the well being of her patient, that she would do the same for anyone else. Now she realised it was all a load of crap. He wasn't just another patient. He was more than that. Without noticing, she had let herself develop something for him and she wanted to kick herself for it, but there wasn't much she could do about it. Walking away now certainly didn't benefit him. And it wouldn't do her any good either. It was the right thing to do. But it wasn't what she wanted to do. So she would see it through. He would be gone in a few weeks and she knew he would go back to his own life and certainly not be looking back.

She exhaled loudly and stepped into the room, knocking lightly on the door. He was sitting on his bed, legs dangling on the side, lost in thoughts. He did that a lot. Look into space, think. Most people filled the silence with something or the other, radio, TV, books. But she had come to realise that Happy never did. He marvelled in the silence, it gave him room for his thoughts. He heard her approach and looked up, eyes zooming in on her. His lips curling up in a curt held up the bottle she'd been holding in her hand.

"I come bearing gifts."

"Where you been hiding Doc?"

"Nowhere. Had a couple of days to take."

"So I heard." He dropped on the floor slowly and opened his bedside table where he now kept two glasses for their drinking sessions. He held them out to her as she poured the amber liquid. "Do anything nice?"

"I have a friend with a B&B on Coos Bay. Its a great place, calm, isolated." She took a sip of her drink and grimaced. She hadn't drunk whiskey in a few days, opting for wine instead and she was almost surprised by the strong taste. "How did it go with Jamieson?"

"Guy is a fuckin' idiot."

She shook her head knowing that probably meant she would have to grovel and apologise to her colleague the next day. They sipped their drink in contemplative silence for the longest time, refilling their glass from time to time. Surprisingly, Happy was the first one to break the silence.

"You been avoiding me Doc?"

Trust him not to beat around the bush and go straight to the point. "Maybe."

"Why?"

She decided to take a leaf out of his book and go with blunt honesty. "Because when it comes to you, I'm not sure I'm making the best decisions, Happy."

"We ain't done nothing wrong, Jo." he tried to reassure her.

She had a wry smile. "I'm not so sure about that."

"What are you doing here then?"

"Like I said, when it comes to you, I'm not sure I'm making the best decisions."

For the second time in less than twelve hours, Jo woke up alone in bed. The early morning light was filtering through the curtains of her bedroom as she ran her hand on the spot where Happy had been sleeping. It was still warm, he hadn't been gone for long.

A familiar smell reached her nose and she frowned. Could it be? She threw off the covers and looked around the scattered clothes on the floor locating her shirt and shorts. She got dressed and walked out of the room, finding her way to the kitchen.

He was standing by the stove, stirring what smelt wonderfully enticing. The table was set for the both of them and he had even made coffee. She took a moment to bask in his presence in her house, in her kitchen and felt a smile creep up her face. It wasn't weird at all which was kind of weird. It just felt natural. Everything between them seemed so natural, so organic that it did scare her a little. But then she figured that they'd known each other for a while now and skipping some steps wasn't surprising. Her stomach growled suddenly reminding her she hadn't eaten since lunch the day before. She cleared her throat, making her presence known.

"Hey. You up early." She said as she poured coffee into two cups.

"I was getting crowded."

She felt slightly embarrassed and bit her lip. "Sorry. I guess I'm not used to having other people in my bed." she apologized with a smile. Peeking above his shoulder, she breathed in the smell. "What are you cooking?"

"Eggs." He replied turning to her. "Don't get your hopes up doc. It ain't nothing fancy."

"Well, you know, I don't think anyone's ever cooked me breakfast before."

His "Don't get used to it either." drew a laugh from her. He turned off the stove and emptied the frying pan into two plates before setting them on the table. "Sit, eat. Then you and I we need to talk Doc."

She had a huge smile on her face as she gazed tenderly at him.

"What?" He questioned curious.

"Nothing. I was just thinking that you must have really missed bossing me around for the last ten days."

"Look who's fuckin' talkin."

She laughed conceding the point. They ate in comfortable silence for a few minutes. After she's finished, she stood up, clearing the table and poured herself some more coffee. She showed the pot silently offering him some but he just shook his head negatively. She sat back on her chair, holding her steaming cup and gathered up her legs, resting her heel on the edge of the seat, studying him pensively.

"What's on your mind Doc?"

She met his eye. "I want to ask you some things. I just don't know if I can."

"You can ask me anything you want doc. Whether I answer is a different story." He stated simply.

She met his eye, trying to ponder her question. She wasn't even sure what she was more afraid of. That he wouldn't want to answer. Or that he would. "This thing you've been taking care of, did it have anything to do with what happened to you? Your attack?"

"Yeah."

"Is it over, now?"

"It's done." he confirmed with finality.

She took a moment to absorb his answer and then jerked her head towards the table where he'd laid his holster the night before "I couldn't help but notice the gun. Do you always carry it with you?"

He nodded simply.

"Why?"

"For protection."

"Protection from what?" She continued relentless.

"You don't live the life I do without making enemies Doc. That's what the gun's for."

She took a sip of coffee, taking her time to formulate her next question. "Hap', what happens now? With us I mean?"

He moved his chair forward , getting closer to her and she dropped her legs. He closed his hand on the back of her neck, stroking her." What do you want Jo?"

"You. "She replied without a moment of hesitation gazing deep into his dark eyes."I want all of you. The good, the bad and everything in between. "

"You already got me Doc. Should be pretty fucking obvious by now. Shit I do with you, it ain't shit I do with anyone else."

She cupped his face between her hands. "Well, you have me too Happy. I'm yours completely. So I need to know how worried I need to be that something ... else is going to happen to you."

"Doc, I told you before. The life I got... It's fucking messed up and sometimes yeah it's dangerous. But what happened to me on that road? It ain't ever happening again. I promise you that." She tried to turn away and he strengthen his hold, forcing her to look at him. "Hey, look at me. You trust me Doc?"

"Yes. Yes, of course I trust you." She felt her eyes watering and willed her tears away as she brought her forehead to his. "But don't you dare have anything happen to you, Happy. Don't you do that to me."

He put his hand over hers. "Nothing is going to happen to me, Jo."

"As long as you keep your word." She concluded with a nod letting go of his face.

"Jo, this thing with you and I, it changes things. For you and for me. We do this, it makes you a target. Someone that could be used to get to me, or to the club."

"Are you trying to scare me Hap?"

"I'm being straight with you. You need to trust me and do what I tell you to do, starting with installing a security system and you getting a gun."

She scoffed. "You're not serious."

"I am serious, Doc."

"Happy, I've lived here for three years, I've never had any problems. I know you're trying to protect me but don't you think you're overreacting?"

"Jo, you said you trusted me."

"I do."

"You gotta do this."

She took a moment to study his face and was stricken by the seriousness in his eyes. He really wanted her to do this and she would. If only to give him peace of mind."I'll have the alarm system installed. But I'm not getting a gun Happy. I'm just not. You need to trust me too."

"No more opening the door without knowing who's on the other side either."

She rolled her eyes.

"And anything happens, you call me. Not the cops, not anyone but me."

"Hap!"

"You call me. Rogue River is the closest charter to you, I'll give you Kozik's number and his old lady's. You can't get me, you call him or Karen. We clear?"

"Yes. Are you done?"

"One more thing. You need to meet the club. They need to know you and you need to know them."

"You do know that I've already met most of them, right? But yes, I will go and meet the club. My turn?"

He nodded and waited for her to find the words to speak. " Happy, I know there are things about what you do for the club that you can't tell me and to be honest, I'm not sure I want to know any of that yet. I get that. I accept it. The club is the club and I trust you to know what I need to know and I trust you to tell me. But you and I, we've always been true to each other. We need to have that. I need that. And to me, that means no other women."

He didn't respond straight away so she waited for him to speak. A lot f women would have been appalled that he even needed to think about it but she had known Happy long enough. It was the way he did things. He thought them through. She also knew with certainty that if he agreed to her conditions he would keep his promise to her and wouldn't touch another woman as long as they were together because Happy was nothing if not true to his every word.

"I'm good with that." he finally voiced and she welcomed his response with relief. "I don't need to tell you what happens to any fucker who touches you, Jo."

She chuckled as she sat on him, straddling him. "No you don't. but you don't have any worry to have about that." She spread her hands either side of his face and brough him to her, capturing his mouth and locking her arms behind his neck.

"You speak to work?" he asked, breaking their kiss.

"Yes, it's all good."

"I need to check in with the club. Then i'm taking you back to that bed and you'll understand what me bossing you around really means. Tomorrow I'm taking you for a ride."

"I like the sound of that." she beamed before landing quick kiss on his lips and standing up. "I'm gonna jump in the shower."

"Hey Doc?"

She turned around and he gave her a pointed look. "You better get used to having me in that bed."

She bit her lip suppressing a smile and walked out, giving him privacy to make his call.

She dropped her clothes on the bathroom floor and stepped into the shower, standing right under the stream of water, her body welcoming its warmth on her skin. She tipped her head back, letting her hair soak in the water and stayed like this for several minutes, eyes squeezed shut, enjoying every second. Suddenly feeling observed, she opened her eyes and there he was, leaning against the door, watching her with a hungry smile on his lips.

He didn't wait for an invitation. Maintaining eye contact, he dropped his boxers to floor and slid the door open before stepping in behind her, resting his hand on her hips as he towered over her. She leaned back into him as he slowly slid his hand up her leg, lightly brushing her thigh whilst his other hand roamed her stomach moving upwards towards her breasts. Before she could react, his fingers were pressing into her as his other hand closed on her breast.

She reached around behind her and closed her hand around him. He was already hard and she thought as she felt the familiar touch of latex. Ready to go. His fingers slipped through her folds and he pushed a finger deep into her as his hand pressed her throbbing clit. " You're so wet Jo."

She continued to rub him softly as gasps escaped her mouth. " This feels so good, Hap." Letting go of him, she hooked an arm around his neck, bringing his mouth to hers and slid through his lips, tongues swirling and dancing together in a rhythmic embrace. Her mouth grew more demanding as he continued to slid in and out of her with his fingers.

He grabbed her hand and lifted it to place it palm up against the wall. Understanding what he wanted, she placed her other hand on the wall as well and arched her back giving him full access. He grabbed her hips with both hands and slid easily into her. As she dropped her head down, he moved into her, slowly at first, then faster as he picked up his pace.

Balancing herself with the wall, Jo pushed harder against him, wanting to feel him deeper.

"Jesus Doc."

"Harder, Hap. Please." She heard herself say.

All she had to do was ask. He moved almost completely out of her before ramming into her with all his being. He did again several times, bringing her to the verge of ecstasy and back each time. His fingers dug deep into her hips as he pounded her again and again.

Jo started to feel pain but then as suddenly as it had arrived it was gone replaced by a wave of pleasure she'd rarely felt before. She cried out as she felt her orgasm building from deep within, reaching her extremities, taking over her body like breaking waves as her skin tingled all over. With one last thrust, she felt his release as he pulsated inside her letting out a growl that was becoming wonderfully familiar to her. he leaned against her kissing her shoulder as he slipped out of her. She turned around to face him, locking eyes with him as she wrapped herself around him, holding onto him for dear life.

So there was lot of Happy lovin' in the last few chapters but I mean come on, this is Happy Lowman we're talking about, did you expect it any other way?

As always, thank you, thank you, thank you to all of you for reading and alerting and reviewing!
