Chapter 12: Battle of Mission City

"Stop!" I yelled, running up to the canopy in which Bee was tied onto and pushing the freezer guns away. "Stop it!"

"Let him go," Sam also came up to help halt all of the actions being made to Bee.

I walked up to him, his baby blue orbs staring into mine softly. I heard guns being cocked, my teeth biting into my tongue, "He won't hurt us. Relax your weapons. Bee?"

He let out a soft whirr as I smiled with a nod, my eyes falling deep within his optics. They were so blue, I couldn't take my eyes off of them even if I tried and I was done trying. I was done trying to fight it. I do what I want, and this is what I want. Out of nowhere, he became extremely alert at everyone else, pushing me behind him and getting up, bringing his mask down with a cannon ready to shoot. Everyone stayed still as Bee carefully got up onto his feet, still cautious that someone would hose him down again. Not on my fucking watch.

"Listen, the Cube's here and the Decepticons are coming," Sam explained to him, but he still wouldn't calm.

"Bee, don't worry about them, they won't hurt you anymore," I assured him and he looked at me with a relieved look. He was reluctant at first but followed through, lifting his face shield and crouching down to us.

"We need to get the Cube before Megatron gets to it," Sam informed him.

He turned to me and I nodded as he gave a gentle one back before reverting to his alt. form. We went mighty fast to the chamber where the Cube was at and I now only noticed the sheer size of it. From the room it still looked pretty intimidating but now, it's like Optimus is puny compared to this beast. I saw Bee walk up to the Cube, staring at it in awe and wonderment.

"Oh, he's doing somethin'!" I heard someone behind me remark.

He was. He placed his hands on either side of the Cube, a large spark of energon blasting from his hands and the Cube began shifting. It downgraded to the point where it was only the size of Bee's hands. My breath hitched as I saw him turn to me and Sam for permission.

Bitch it's go time.

In a flash the military went ahead with loading their trucks as me, Sam and Mikaela filed into Bee.

"Sel can you put a seatbelt on it?" Sam asked as Bee pulled out of the Dam and into the scorching desert.

"What is this, a baby?" I raised my eyebrows at him and he glared at me. I held my arms up in surrender as I buckled it in, "Jeez sorry."

"Oh no. It's cop from the other day," Sam frowned as he stared into the rearview mirror.

I turned, surprised the entire team of Autobots and military were following pursuit. Coming our way as well though were the devilish group I never wanted to come face to face with. There were almost the same amount of them as the Autobots but we all know what drives within their blood. Hunger and power. A strong advantage indeed but only to an extent. Gasping, I saw Optimus transform as one of the Decepticons tackled him over a ledge of the freeway ramp we were on. Bee's seatbelt tightened against me as he noticed my worry, nodding that I have to have faith. We pulled into a city, right smack into the middle where hundreds of people were already panicking. I got out and everything happened in a flash.

"That aircraft should not be flying that low..." I heard Capt. Lennox mumble as an F-22 dropped a green smoke bomb at us.

I coughed, now noticing how prominent the color was and what it may have been used for. Target. My theory stood correct when I heard Ironhide and Bee transform, Ironhide giving out a cry of warning, "It's Starscream!"

My blood ran cold when I saw another plane flying towards us. The military were trying so hard to push everyone back and away as Sam tugged onto my hand, trying to get me as far away from the hit as possible. In the corner of my eye I saw Bee and Ironhide trying to hold a truck up as a barricade but it wasn't enough. The blast hit like a brick wall against my back. I grunted as my body flew forward, landing on my side extremely rubbed against the pavement and my head getting a good view of the concrete as well.

"Sel!"

I heard someone in the distance calling out my name but all I could hear was ringing and what I saw, blur.

"Sel!"

Again, I heard the voice, only now clearer and closer. I tried to pull myself together, looking up from my view of the pavement. There was smoke everywhere, debris and rubble scattering the ground around me as flames burst from vehicles around me.

"Selena!"

I screamed when I felt two hands grip my shoulder. I thrashed slightly before noticing the concerned face of my cousin, "S-Sam?"

"Come on, you have to get up! It's not safe here!" He used all of his strength to pick me up and wrap my arm around his shoulder.

I groaned as I felt the seething sting of an open wound rise up my arm and side in which I landed on. He sat me down on some rubble, my body tilting slightly, "My side..."

I pointed to where it was at and his eyes widened, his face twisting into astonishment, "Oh my god, Sel! We need a medical team now!"

It couldn't have been that bad...or could've it? I glanced down at the source of pain and wished I hadn't. My entire right arm was burned and scratched from skidding on the pavement, blood painting the entire arm. My side though was also the same, smothered in scratched from the ground, bleeding and purple. My wrist from the other day had also formed a bruise and ached everytime I moved it, but oh thank god my rib is safe considering I landed on the other side. Sam walked around to look for help as I waited patiently, praying no attack comes around near here. It wasn't until a couple minutes that I noticed something crawling to me from the smoke.

"Bee...?" I asked in disbelief, his yellow armor emerging from the fog. Something wasn't right though and my instinct followed through when his entire body was revealed to me. My heart ripped in half when I saw the pain and dismay written on his face. My wounds suddenly felt like nothing compared to what my heart felt when I saw Bee. His legs were gone. "Your legs, Bee!"

He whirred sadly at me, looking up into my eyes. I wobbled my way to him, crouching down and flinching from the pain. He clicked and hummed, one his fingers brushing against my wound. His eyes were filled with guilt and sorrow, me frowning and shaking my head, "Don't. It isn't your fault."

I could tell he didn't believe that but looked down for a quick second and with his other hand, pulled out the spotless Cube. My breath hitched at the sight, knowing what had to be done. Sam ran back up to me and saw Bee's state, also in shock and upset. I turned to him, Cube in my arm, "Sam..."

His eyes went back and forth from the Cube, Bee and me, "No no way. We are not leaving you, Bee, and especially you Sel! You're injured!"

"But this can't be for nothing!" My voice was louder than what I expected it to be. He looked at me surprised at my anger right now. No, Sam, we can't just sit back this time and do nothing. "They're counting on us! Bee's counting on us!"

"Then let me do it. You stay here with Mikaela and Bee," He offered, pulling the Cube from my hand, beginning to walk toward where the battle was at.

I looked at him in disbelief, grabbing his arm just in time, "No. I'm going with you, Sam-"

"No...Sel! I'm tired of seeing you hurt all the time!" He finally admitted to me, shaking his head and staring down at the Cube in his hand, "You have to stay safe. I hate you and I hate how annoying you are but you're like a little sister to me. It's my job to keep you safe, Sel!"

My eyes watered from the amount of guilt dripping from his voice and the fact that even after everything I've done to Sam, he still cared and loved my like family. Family doesn't leave family though and we have to help eachother out. "Sam, if it's one thing I know about myself is that I've always been fearless. I'm not scared to die, I'm scared of losing you and letting people down. I know you want me safe and I know how important that is to you but I'm not a little girl anymore! I can do this! I can help you Sam for once in my life let me! Let me save someone, let me help someone I care about!"

I hadn't even noticed the tears began rolling out of my eyes until it hung loose on my jawline. Everything was true. I'm Selena Witwicky, I know who the hell I am and I don't stand for shit. I don't tolerate intolerance and I don't let anyone and I mean anyone die in my presence. These Decepticons were picking on my last fucking nerve and it's time to know who the hell they are messing with.

"Sam, Sel! Help me with Bee!" I heard Mikaela's voice, snapping out of my trance I saw her with a tow truck.

No time to spare I helped her clip Bee with the harnesses and she pulled Bee onto the tow truck. Sam came up to me and handed me the Cube, nodding, "You're right. You are one of the bravest girls I have ever met and I know we can do this."

Smiling, me and Sam gave eachother a clutch with our opposite hands, "Hell. Yes."

Lennox ran up to us and gave us clear instructions on what to do. Run like a bitch, get to roof of building, get it to the chopper. Easy peasy lemon squeezilini. He pulled me aside though after that and gripped my shoulder, "Be careful out there okay?"

I gulped, slightly confused but agreed with a nod, "I promise."

He gave me one back before turning his attention to Mikaela, "Girl get that truck out of here!"

I turned to Bee with a warm smile, "Be safe."

He chirped happily, pointing his index finger at me and winking in a 'you got it' fashion. I took a deep breath and took Sam's hand. Let's fucking do this. With that me and Sam bolted straight into he center of action, Ironhide and Ratchet following closely behind us, "We'll back you up! Keep going!"

That didn't slow me down anything as me and Sam weaved through the tussles and explosions. The adrenaline ran through my blood and pumped my legs faster than ever. Damn I wish I could do this in gym! Oh god, not now Sel! Running across a street, Sam was hit by a car, me grabbing onto the SUV for support at all the ruckus going around. The Cube accidentally dropped, emitting a radiation of energon to be absorbed by multiple technologies around. The spark ran through the SUV but I didn't expect it to also shock me in the process. I screamed as the electrocution rippled from my wounds and into my body and I fell onto the ground on a knee. What the fuck? Was that even possible? I gagged slightly from a small mucus in my throat and my eyes widened when I noticed it was blue. Great, just another problem to add to this one.

"Sel, get up!" Sam grabbed my arm and pulled us toward an old stone building.

I heaved from the lack of oxygen but pulled through as me and Sam sprinted up almost fifteen flights of stairs. Never again, god, never again! A large crash below us caused us to freeze though, a voice that left my spine raked in terror. "I smell you children!"

Whimpering, Sam tugged me up the stairs, trying our hardest to reach the roof. My legs were already shaking from exhaustion and fear from whoever that was down there and barely just made it up the roof. Me and Sam screamed as he ignited the fire light, waving it in the air and as we got to a ledge a chopper rose from the bottom. A man held his arms out for the Cube and I gripped Sam incase he leaned in too far on the ledge. The blades ripped through the air, my hair whipping all over my face. Just an inch away from taking the Cube, I saw something big coming from behind the helicopter and I'm guessing Sam did too, "Watch out!"

I pulled him back onto the roof as the figure crashed straight into the chopper, causing it to careen and spin before ultimately meeting its fate when it exploded on the side of the building. Oh no, what now? Me and Sam shakily got up to our feet, but just as soon as we did, the roof behind me exploded. I screamed and Sam dragged me to the ledge, hearing heavy footsteps coming towards us. My fingers began sweating when Sam yanked me up onto a statue to keep a shield between us and whatever caused the roof explosion. I made the mistake of inspecting our surroundings, only seeing air and 100 feet left of building below us. Oh fabulous, vertigo hitting me and dizzying my sights.

"Is it fear or courage that compels you boy?" A voice taunted my cousin maliciously. Peeking from the corner of the statue, a tremor filled my body and my breathing became labored as I saw the maleficent scarlet red eyes of Megatron. Ah so you're the little bitch that's causing all this. Well you're fucking ugly number one and scary as shit and as much as I want to tell you that, I'm too much of a wuss puss right now to. Doesn't mean you aren't though! "Give me the Cube boy and I will spare you...and the girl's lives."

I gasped when he I saw him pull a melee weapon out but that never caused me to falter, "No way Megatron! We won't give you the Cube!"

"Oh so unwise," He chuckled darkly, bringing the weapon at the statue and our only leverage fell apart beneath us.

Shrieking, me and Sam flew a couple floors from the roof and I only awaited my death when hitting the bottom. Though nothing such ever came, only cold metal hitting me in the back. I squinted my eyes and saw a familiar red and blue paint towering above. My face lit up with a smile, "Optimus!"

"Hold on you two!" He pulled us closer to his chest as he staggered his way down with the buildings, my head hitting several parts of his hand and chest. That's going to leave a bruise. Once we hit the ground, the force knocked the wind out of me as Optimus laid out his hand so we could climb off. Struggling to breathe, Sam propped me up against a car, Optimus turning towards us, "Sam, you and your cousin risked your lives to keep the Cube safe. Now..."

Sam stared at him in realization, "No sacrifice, no victory."

"If all else fails, I need you to push the Cube into my spark and destroy it before Megatron retrieves it. Now quickly get behind me!" Optimus got up onto his feet as Sam pulled me into a ditch in the pavement.

"We can't just sit here, Sam!" I insinuated, peeking up from the ditch.

Optimus and Megatron were in a deep brawl, the buildings around them being tattered as they flung eachother into them. In a minute though, Megatron was able to bring Optimus down, a cannon blaster ready to shoot at him. No, no this can't be happening. I saw Sam also busy at scouting the area around us and I made my chance. Pushing myself out of the ditch I felt Sam's hand slip from my leg, Megatron just about to shoot and chortled deviously, "You always fight for the weak Prime, now you will join them!"

"NO!" I screamed as everything happened in slow motion. I felt my heart burst into a fistful of energy as it emanated through my arms and fingers, me being able to stand between Megatron and Optimus right when he shot the missile. A blue shield-like energon field, small but forceful shot out of my small hands and reflected the shot back at it's shooter. When creating impact, the shield exploded against me, my entire body was thrown back onto pavement and my eyes blurred around me.

"WHAT!" Megatron angrily fumed as it clipped him in the shoulder I guess.

All I saw were black figures swarming around me, Sam finally manning up and a slow fading figure of him pushing the Cube into Megatron's chest rather than Optimus'.

I smiled.

A/n: This idea has been nagging at me ever since the beginning of the story and well I decided to bring it to life! I was debating whether Sel should just be full human or have some type of power, I want to give her one where she's not too powerful but not useless too. You'll see in the next chapter!

I also changed the title of the story because I realized how corny the title was when I made it in high school ! xD

REVIEW IS THE KEY FOR A NEW CHAPTER
