"I Mc-Crashland do not own Naruto"

'Thinking' "Talking" "Demon Talking" 'Demon Thinking' {A/N} Word Expanded at the end

Youshimitsu awoke the next day swinging his legs off his raised bed and reached down to adjust is left leg adding a little chakra to flex the joints in his mechanical limb causing one to lightly squeak. With a sigh he reached and grabbed a small jar dipping his finger in and applying its contents to the squeaking joint.

Standing Yoshi made his way over to his wardrobe and dressed himself for the first day of what would be his longest year. When he was finished dressing he left his room and crossed the hall to the rest room and splashed some cold water on his face and relived himself.

Deciding to leave Naruto asleep for now he went to the dining table after grabbing "Ichi-Ichi Maid" the 4th in the series not quite in his top five favorites but still good, and it was one that he had not read for a while.

Then just as he cracked open his book there was a loud crashing sound from the back room pulling a grown form him. These types of things were the reasons he didn't want some upstart apprentice but he had made a deal and braking a deal was one thing he would not do.

Closing his book he stood up and slowly walked to Narutos room and knocked on the door and heard the boy acknowledge him with a small shout to come in. Shrugging he opened the sliding door and found Naruto siting among a city of book towers and scrolls rolled out between them like streets.

"Hello Yoshi-sensei I'm picking out books for my shelf and reorganizing some of my sealing scrolls." He said while not taking his eyes off one of the many journals he had taken from one of his ancestral shrines.

"Where did all these come from?" Yoshi asked taking a look at the room glancing at half-filled bookshelf, of course he knew part of it, that the boy obviously new some form of the sealing arts just one thing he wouldn't need to start from the beginning on.

"There form my travels, a few I bought, but most are from the Uzumaki shrines. There are research journals, jutsu theory, complex sealing techniques, some kenjutsu scrolls, quite a lot of historical data AND some ramen recipes." He said gesturing to the journal in his hands. "This one sounds pretty dang good!"

"Oh? Maybe we'll try it some time. But who taught you how to seal Uzumaki-san" He said guessing the boys last name and which her heard yesterday and again today. He too had believed that the famed Uzumakis were wiped out but now he seemed to be proven wrong. All there knowledge had been lost and noting left of their teachings, like many he had thought it lost.

"No one taught me JiJi gave me a book on the basics." Naruto said puling a book form his right and tossing it to Yoshi. Examining the book he noticed that it had been custom printed and was not in fact the basics but at least complex theory mixed with the basics, as well as some Uzumaki secrets mixed about, that he picked up from scanning a few pages. That old man was trying to keep the boy ignorant without stunting his growth by making the boy underestimate his own skills and abilities.

"This is something I can check off the list for now. How many seals do you know?" He asked lightly tossing the book back to the boy, causing him to take up a thinking pose. "Well I've only made 3 types but I bet I can do 5 just never had a reason to make them since I learned them and good ink is hard to come by so I just used the ones I needed." Naruto explained prompting a not from his teacher.

"That's pretty good, how about you save this for latter, get some breakfast and we will begin lesson one." Form this suggestion Naruto jumped to his feet with the cook book grabbed a secant scroll with the label food and rushed past Yoshi before he could say no to the meal.

Naruto groaned, this was not training or at least not the type he was thinking about. He was currently siting in the middle of the house trying to read a slowly moving journal while in a meditative position. The reason the book was moving was because his sensei had the book attached to a fishing rod in front of his face form the dining table. As the journal moved up and away he found is place for the fifth time that page and read allowed as he was instructed "The key to mastering anything is learning it to the point of not knowing. As only by letting instincts take over, anything may be mastered." He said before the book dropped from his vison.

"Now tell me what that means to you Naruto." Yoshi said turning the page of his journal and righting in the next page. For a brief moment he turned his head to Naruto who he was balancing a glass of water on his head, his hare and shoulders were wet form when he moved during the session that had been going on for two hours.

"It means that I need to be trained to the point where I don't need to think about doing something, and that in a split secant I just do it and on instincts and practice instead of trying to remember what I need to do and when during a fight or otherwise." Naruto said balancing the glass while trying to look at his sensei. "So I understand the reading part but why do I need to do it without moving my head or body, and balancing this stupid glass."

"The point is for you to focus on multiple objects at once while being absolutely still. This skill is going to help with your forging and sharpening. It will also help you with focusing in combat and noncombat situations. When I was still a samurai there was a lot of times that being able to reed and focus form my peripheral vision was beneficial. You will be learning a lot like this, and a lot in the opposite field." His sensei explained after finishing the new page and preparing it to drop in front of him.

"What do you mean the opposite?" He asked.

"Reading while in full combat obviously." Yoshi said with a grin that made Naruto gulp.

Week and a half later

Naruto lay in his futon groaning as the light outside his room dimed, in the past week he had found that his sensei was the unforgiving type crippled or not. When they had started with kenjutsu Naruto was one big burse and every joint burned. But he was seeing progress when they would do the reading exercise, now he never lost his place and the kanji was looking good. He had found out that the plant in the corner of the room was a living ink plant; if you wanted ink you took a leaf and placed it on the ink stone and applied a little water and when it dissolved what was left of the finest ink he had ever used.

Yesterday he and Yoshi had reentered to his mind scape to see how well the time difference was by saying an hour inside and then checking the outside. To his but not Yoshis surprise it had been five minutes in the real world. His sensei had explained that the training was doing excellent and said that the real training could begin soon.

Naruto was unsure of what this real training was but despite his aching body he was looking forward to it.

Naruto awoke the next day dressed and headed to the kitchen. As per usual Naruto was up before his sensei and was getting breakfast prepared when he noticed to his horror that there was nothing. He scrambled around the room looking in all the cupboards and found zip. "Yoshi-Sensei!" Naruto called trying to keep down his panic.

Than form his teachers' room herder "I know, were going to the cave today." And his sensei left his room a bow and full quiver of arrows on his back. "We'll hunt on the way there so finishing dressing and we'll be off."

Naruto excited for something other than fish dashed to his room dressed in warmer cloths grabbed some empty storage scrolls, his bokken, and one of his freshly sharpened kunai.

When he left his room he found Yoshi waiting with several scrolls of his own and holding a half way finished 'Ichi-Ichi Springtime', "So what do you mean cave is it some place you store your food?" Naruto asked kind of excited.

"You could day that." He replayed simply heading to the door Naruto right on his heels. They walked away from the house on the black pebble path that they typically took to the training ring. But when they reached the Y in the path they went right instead of left.

This trail was longer than the one to the ring, walking a good 3 miles before they were at the foot of a sharp, snow covered mountain cliff side and at the bottom of the cliff in front of the path was a solid looking oak door with bits of steam spilling form the bottom.

"Watch carefully grasshopper." Yoshimitsu said taking his own bokken and taping the front of the door only for it to bounce off before making contact creating a rippling affect to spread form the contact point into the rock on either side of the door. "Now tell me where the seal to unlock it is." He said looking expectantly at Naruto.

"How am I supposed to know that?" he asked kind of frustrated at the old man. "You were the one that brought us here; shouldn't you know how to get in?"

"This is a test gaki, all Uzumaki have the gift to see seals no matter how small, it takes training to maximize it and will come in handy in your future. Now try to find the seal." Yoshi stated staring at the boy with the same lecturing expression hardened on his face.

"Fine." Naruto groaned focusing all around him and there it was to the left of his senseis head under the snow was an earthy glow, stepping towards it he brushed off the snow to reveal a seal with an earth kanji in the center. "There is the seal for the door." He said.

"Good we'll be practicing this as well from now on, so never let your guard down." Yoshi said adding chakra to the shield seal which was lightly carved into the rock, in an instant the shield faltered and Yoshimituse opened the door to reveal a large lit up cavern.

Narutos jaw dropped, it was a massive garden loads of plants with chickens running around grazing on the bugs and grass. On the other side of the cavern was a seal pumping water into a large pool. "Wow! What is this place?" He said in awe.

"This Naruto is an almost self-automated completely self-sufficient farm. It provides me with everything but grains. The pool over there is packed with fish the plants provide me with vegetables and herbs. The seals on the walls and ceiling provide light as well as keep everything in here form rotting with powerful conservation seals and light transfer seals. There are also seals that provide fresh warm air." Yoshi said pointing to the various seals that were visible and some that were only visible to Naruto.

"Did you make this yourself?" Naruto questioned amazed by the complexity of the large room he was standing in.

"Yes and in order to have completed my seal training you will have to exceed this achievement. The Uzumaki that you are I expect you to excide me soon. So start thinking of what could surpass this combination of seals to achieve something grater." He said looking to Naruto, and after a pause he continued to what was to be done now. "So let's get to work and get these scrolls filled."

After they had finished there gathering in the garden sealing all the food they would need for the next month Yoshi said there would be a delivery of grains to his house form Oshu and he would have them alter their drops to be more frequent so as not to run out too quickly.

On their way back Yoshimitsu led him off the path where he shot two dear with his bow that they sealed so as to be cleaned later.
