Author's Note: Thank you so much for the reviews! I love hearing what you guys think of the story! I'm sorry for the delay in posting. I've been kind of sick lately. Anyway, enjoy the chapter!

"Yeah, of course," Zack replied, straightening up in his chair.

"Well," London began, "he called me the other day. He's finished dental school in Zurich."

"But it's only been four years. He said it would take eight," Zack reminded her.

"He took courses during the summer," London explained. "I don't know the whole story, but he's meeting me in Boston next week."

"That still doesn't explain why you're acting different."

"He's going to be a dentist, Zack!" London said, opening her textbook again. "I can't just be an airhead heiress!"

"So you want to like, marry this guy? And you don't think it's good enough for you to be yourself, you need to be really smart because he's really smart?" Zack asked, trying to piece it all together.

"Well, I really like him."

"But what if he met someone at dental school?" Zack wondered.

"I'm sure he wouldn't go out with someone else. He and I made plans to meet when he was done with school, so-"

"London, that was four years ago! And you've dated tons of other guys!" Zack exclaimed.

"That's because I needed to! I was bored," London replied, looking a little ashamed.

"He might have been bored, too."

"You know what, I'm not helping you. I don't know what you want, but I don't want to be involved." London got up and stormed away.

Later that evening, Bailey decided to see if there was any news regarding Miss Tutweiller. She knew London had refused to call her dad and explain the real story, but perhaps Mr. Tipton had changed his mind and now believed the truth.

She knocked on the door of Mr. Moseby's office and he opened it, looking rather upset. "Hello Bailey," he said, motioning for her to come inside.

"Is something wrong?" she asked, sitting in one of the chairs opposite his desk.

"Miss Tutweiller just stopped by to tell me she's been fired," Mr. Moseby told her.

Bailey's jaw dropped. "You mean Mr. Tipton believed Mr. Ellis? He really believed that Miss Tutweiller would break the rules like that?"

"Yes. And there's more. The whole reason Mr. Ellis called Miss T in the first place was because he knew she would tell Mr. Tipton, and he planned to twist the story on her all along."

"He had something against Miss Tutweiller? He wanted to get her fired?" Bailey asked incredulously.

"Indeed. He wanted to get revenge on her for breaking up with him."

"WHAT?"

"The two of them dated in college. Richard, er, Mr. Ellis, was very clingy and weird, so Miss T broke up with him. Apparently he never got over it. He tracked her down and made up the whole story of him having a son that wanted to go to Seven Seas and he pretended to bribe her..." Mr. Moseby trailed off.

"How do you know all of this?"

"She just told me," Moseby replied. "She came to say goodbye."

"She's really been fired? Why did Mr. Tipton believe Mr. Ellis?" Bailey wondered.

"Because Mr. Tipton doesn't know Miss Tutweiller. He doesn't know how trustworthy and honest she is. He believes that the customer is always right."

"This is just horrible," Bailey said with a sigh. "Who is going to be our teacher?"

"Well, your other teachers will fill in for Miss T for a few days, until we can hire a new teacher," Moseby explained.

"She's not coming back." Bailey still couldn't wrap her head around it. "Ugh! I can't believe it! This is all London's fault!"

"Why's that?" Mr. Moseby asked confusedly.

"She wouldn't call her father to explain the real story," Bailey replied, standing up. "I'm going to go talk to her. Maybe it's not too late."

"It's too late," Moseby insisted. "Mr. Tipton never changes his mind."

The next day, Tuesday, was pretty horrible. Everyone was pretty upset with London for not just calling her dad. London was very upset with Zack for making her feel so bad about Todd.

However, when the mail arrived, Bailey perked up. "I'm getting my letter from the scholar program today!" she squealed, snatching the big envelope from Mr. Moseby.

"What does it say?" London asked, leaning over to see the letter.

Bailey skimmed through the letter, and her face fell. "I didn't get in." She sat down dejectedly.

Cody took the letter from her and read it aloud. "'Dear Miss Pickett: We regret to inform you that due to the overwhelming enthusiasm of scholars across the country and the number of spots open to students, we are not able to offer you a paid scholarship to our program.'"

"You see? I wasn't good enough," Bailey said, sniffling.

"I'm sorry, Bailey," London said truthfully. She hadn't forgotten about wanting her own room over Christmas.

"I'd better go tell my mom I'll be coming home for Christmas." Bailey walked back to her room to make the call.

The next morning, there was no teacher filling in for Miss Tutweiller until after lunch, so the students were stuck watching a boring video about Gregor Mendel, the "father" of genetics. Zack decided that this was the opportune time to apologize to London for what he had said about Todd St. Mark.

"London," he said, tapping her shoulder. She turned around abruptly and tried throwing him to the ground. "Oh, sorry Zack," she said once she realized it was just him. "My martial arts training kicked in."

"It's okay," Zack replied, rubbing his arm where she had twisted it. "Look, I wanted to apologize for what I said about Todd the other day. He probably still really cares about you."

"I accept your apology," London said, smiling. "Oh, and I'm sorry I wouldn't call my dad and explain everything about Mr. Ellis. But Miss Tutweiller will be fine. She'll find another job."

"Well, I hope so." Zack headed back to his seat. In the desk next to him, Cody was reading a paper intently. Suddenly his eyes lit up.

"This is great," Cody said excitedly, standing up. He headed over to Bailey's desk and handed her the paper. "It's your letter from the scholar program."

"And why do you have it?" Bailey asked curiously.

"I wanted to see what reason they gave for not accepting you, because I didn't know why they wouldn't. But look." He pointed to the last paragraph of the letter, which Bailey then read silently.

"Oh my gosh!" she exclaimed, standing up as well.

"What?" Addison asked, leaning over to see the letter.

"It says that although I didn't get a paid scholarship, they would still like me to attend the program! I just have to pay my own way to Oxford!"

"That's awesome!" Marcus said, giving Bailey a high five.

"I'm going to call my mom and tell her to send the money to the program," Bailey exclaimed, pulling out her cell phone. "Thanks Cody! If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have even known I could still go." She gave him a quick hug and dialed her mom's number.

Author's Note: Thanks so much for reading and please review! :)

So the other day I watched The Heart is Deceitful Above All Things. You probably haven't heard of it, because it's an indie movie. Dylan and Cole Sprouse (Zack and Cody) are in it. They play older Jeremiah. It's super disturbing, actually. Spoilers ahead.

It's about this boy, Jeremiah, whose mom is just a teenager, so she can't care for him. He stays in a foster home and his foster parents are really great, so he's pretty upset when his real mom comes to get him when he's about 7 years old. She's a drug addict and a horrible mom, and her boyfriends are horrible to Jeremiah. One of them rapes him, and so Jeremiah is taken away from his mother. He goes to live with his grandparents, who are like ultra Christian and have this almost cult. Three years later, Jeremiah's mother comes to get him. She's still a drug addict and a horrible mom. She has Jeremiah dress up as a girl and pretend to be her little sister, because if everyone knows he is her son, she won't get any business as a prostitute. She teaches Jeremiah how to be seductive and whatnot, and one night when she is gone, her current boyfriend rapes him. So she leaves him and her and Jeremiah move to a house where her new boyfriend lives, above a meth lab. The meth lab blows up, and the mom and Jeremiah get away safely. The mom is on a lot of drugs and is out of her mind pretty much. She and Jeremiah dye their hair black and run away. Jeremiah eats food from a dumpster, which his mom says is poison. She makes him drink a bottle of Ipecac, and he is admitted to the hospital after he stumbles into a diner and passes out. The mom is taken to a mental hospital but in the middle of the night gets Jeremiah from his hospital room and escapes with him.

Like I said, it's disturbing and strange. And there's certainly no happy ending. But it's wasn't a bad movie. And those boys really can act! Okay, rant over.

The title of this chapter, We'll Just Have To Adjust, is a lyric from the song Wake Up by Arcade Fire.
