A/N: Thanks so much for reading everyone! I hope you are having a wonderful Holiday Season. Please Review! Enjoy!

"What we need to do is figure out a way to catch up and get to Nero's ship undetected." Jim told Bones, Sophie, Uhura, and Sulu who surrounded a computer shield on the bridge.

"Can't just go in there guns blazing Jim." Bones replied.

"I'm telling you the math doesn't support…" Sulu started before being interrupted by Chekov who came rushing towards them.

"Keptin, Keptin Kirk." He said to Jim as they all turned towards him.

"Yes Chekov what is it?"

"Based on the Narada's course from Vulcan, I've projected that Nero will travel past Saturn. And if Mr. Scott can get us to warp factor 4, then we could drop out of warp behind one of Saturn's moons, say, Titan, the magnetic distortion from the planet's rings will make us invisible to Nero's sensors. Then as long as the drill is not activated we can beam aboard the ship undetected." Chekov finished.

"Aye that might work." Scotty said coming up behind them all after he had changed into a uniform and dried off.

"Wait a minute kid, how old are you?" Bones asked.

"17 sir." He asked proudly.

"Oh good he's 17." He replied sarcastically to Jim making Sophie smile.

"Doctor, Mr. Chekov is correct." Spock said coming aboard the bridge. "I have reviewed his telemetry. If Mr. Sulu can maneuver us into position, I can beam aboard Nero's ship steal back the black hole device and if possible bring back Captain Pike."

"I won't allow you to do that Mr. Spock." Jim said as he walked towards him.

"Romulans and Vulcan's share a common ancestry. Our cultural similarities will make it easier for me to access their ship's computer to locate the device." Spock continued before his face softened a bit, "Also, my mother was human. Which makes Earth the only home I have left."

"Then I'm coming with you." Jim told him after a moment's thought.

"I would cite regulation but I know you will simply ignore it."

"See, we are getting to know each other," Jim said with a small smirk before walking over to the Captain's chair.

"Alright. Mr. Sulu, can you and Chekov get us into position?" Jim asked.

"Yes sir. It should take us about 20." Sulu informed him.

"Ok. Scotty get down to transportation for now. While I'm gone I'm leaving you in charge Lieutenant Pace." Jim told Sophie.

"Re…Um. Ok Captain." She replied with a slight smile.

"But for now come with me. Spock let's go get ready." Jim said standing up. "Mr. Sulu you have the Conn until she gets back."

"Yes sir."

"Where are we going Jim?" Sophie asked him quietly as she, Jim, Spock and Uhura left the bridge.

"To get ready." He replied simply, while grabbing her hand and so he had a comfortable but tight hold on it.

The two of them plus Spock and Uhura walked down to the transportation room together. Spock and Uhura were ahead of them anyways as they talked leaving Jim and Sophie behind holding hands and talking softly to each other.

"Jim…this is crazy you know?" Sophie told him as they walked.

"I know but it's the only shot we have Soph." he replied squeezing her hand.

"Jim." Sophie said coming to a stop, causing Jim to stop as well and look back at her. "I know this is selfish but can't you just let Spock go alone?"

"Sophie…"

"I know you have too but…you're acting like your 13 again." She said softly as he walked towards her wrapping his arms around her waist.

"Is that such a bad thing?" he replied just as softy.

"No, but it reminds me that you might not come back to me."

"I can't promise anything." He told her holding her close to him. "But I will tell you I'll try my damn hardest to come back to you."

"I know you will." She mumbled into his shoulder. "Can I com…"

"No." Jim replied instantly. "No Soph. You can not come with me."

"But Jim…" she said lifting her head to look at him.

"No Sophie. I will not make that mistake again. You are not coming with us."

"That was 12 years ago, you couldn't have known what was going to happen."

"I knew it was bad. Everything told me to not bring you but I did because I didn't want to lose you. And God Kevin, he shouldn't have come either." Jim muttered dropping his head and burying it in her hair as he continued to speak. "You aren't coming. That's an order."

"I had to try." She whispered back.

"I know you did. I know." Jim said softly back. "Come on. Let's get this thing over with."

The two made their way to the transporter pad to find Spock up on the pad ready for transport with Uhura in front of him as they talked. Still holding onto Sophie's hand Jim stopped next to Scotty at the control panel.

"How we doin' Scotty?" Jim says.

"Unbelievable sure, the ship is in position." He replied.

Jim then presses the intercom button to talk to the bridge, "Whatever happens Mr. Sulu if you think you have the tactical advantage you fire on that ship even if we're still on board. That's an order." Jim told him as he heard Sophie inhale sharply next to him.

"Yes sir, may I ask why you are telling me and not Lieutenant Pace who you are leaving in charge while gone?" Sulu asked.

Jim sighed and glanced at Sophie, "Because I know she won't take the shots, no matter what."

"Why."

"Because I'll still be on board." Jim replied. "If you don't have to then we'll connect the Enterprise when we are ready to beam back."

"Good Luck." Sulu answered.

Jim disconnected the line and tugged on Sophie's pulling her up to the transporter pad with him. He got into position while Sophie stood in front of him, her arms going around his waist hugging him close as he buried his face in her hair. Sophie buried her face in his chest breathing in his scent trying to find some comfort in all of this mess they were in. Jim on the other hand was trying to figure out how to tell Sophie he was in love with her without her thinking it was a friend thing. He realized now he was completely in love with her and had been for a while, he just had to figure out how to tell her and when. He knew that now was not the time and he knew if he did she would probably think it was the heat of the moment statement.

"Please come back Jim." Sophie said softly looking up at him as they pulled slightly away from each other to see their faces.

"I'll try my hardest Soph. I haven't forgotten our talk." He whispered back.

"You better not have. I'll be waiting." She replied smiling at him a little.

Jim smiled and leaned down so that their lips were centimeters from each other. He brushed his lips against hers for a moment before pulling back.

"That's was a little preview Soph." he said softly. "I love you P."

"I love you J." she said back before stepping back to where Scotty was sitting, she was just in time to see Uhura and Spock kiss.

Looking at them quite shocked Jim and her shared a very confused and surprised look before Uhura joined her by Scotty.

"So her first name is Nyota?" Jim asked softly making Sophie roll her eyes.

"I have no comment on the matter." Spock replied.

Jim nodded before looking back at Sophie and offering her a small smile.

"If there's any common sense to their ship design, I'll be puttin' ya in a cargo bay, shouldn't be a soul in sight." Scotty told them looking over the plans.

"Energize." Jim ordered making one last eye contact with Sophie before disappearing right before her eyes along with Spock.

"Oh God." Sophie said softly to herself before addressing Scotty.

"Scotty be ready to beam them back when they are ready. I have a feeling knowing Jim it's going to be complicated." Sophie said before looking at Uhura, "Let's go and pray they don't have that drill down yet."

Uhura nodded and the two raced off through the corridors, at first at slow jog before Sophie picked up the pace and went to a full sprit with Uhura right be hind her. Upon entering the bridge Sophie heard Chekov say, "They've activated the drill."

"Uhura communications?" Sophie said as she walked up to the screen and Uhura to her stations.

"Communications and transporter inoperative." She replied.

"Sulu please tell me you have them." Sophie asked him walked around front. "Otherwise we won't be able to bring them back."

"Kirk and Spock are on their own now." He replied.

Sophie let out a frustrated sigh went to look something things over with Uhura. The two were deep in discussion about something when Chekov broke her concentration.

"Lieutenant Pace…I mean Ms. Pace…I.." Chekov started only to be cut off by Sophie.

"Chekov, Sophie or Pace is fine."

"Right um…Pace?" Chekov questioned seeing Sophie nodded. "The transporter ability is back up, the drill has been disabled."

"Thank Goodness." Sophie said in relief. "Does anyone have vitals on them?"

"They're alive." Sulu responded.

Sophie nodded again stood at her console waiting for something anything to happen. Everyone was mostly silent on the bridge while they waited and waited for something to happen. It was not until 15 minutes later that something happened that no one could suspect. The screen showed the ship Spock was currently in go into warp, followed by the Romulan ship.

"Sulu!" Sophie practically shouted.

"On it!" he exclaimed punching some dials and buttons before they went into warp following the two ships. The ship was warp for no more than 3 minutes before they came out.

"Chekov, Sulu give them hell!" she ordered again.

The quickly worked their consoles firing back at the Romulan ship deflecting the hits from Spock's ship. They continue their assault on the Romulan ship until Sophie here's blessing.

"Enterprise NOW!" Jim's said over the intercom.

Sophie let out a sigh and glanced towards Uhura who was already out of her seat as Sophie hit the comm. button the Captain's chair. "LEO! Transporter pad!"

"Alright ahead of you Soph." Bone's replied.

Minutes later Spock, Uhura and Jim came walking through the doors. Sophie stood by her console by the Captain's chair and looked quite relieved to have Jim in her sight again.

"Captain the enemy ship is loosing power and their shields are down sir." Chekov reported to Jim as him and Spock walked towards the screen.

"Hail them now." Jim ordered.

"Aye sir."

Moments later the screen came on and Nero's face popped up not looking too happy.

"This is Captain James T. Kirk of the U.S.S. Enterprise. Your ship is compromised too close to the singularity to survive without assistance which we are willing to provide." Jim said calmly with Spock by his side.

"Captain what are you doing?" Spock inquired turning away from the screen along with Jim.

"We show them compassion it may be the only way to earn peace with Romulus. It's logic, Spock! I thought you'd like that."

"No, not really. Not this time." Spock replied.

"I would rather suffer the death of Romulus a thousand times than accept assistance from you." Nero spat in the background causing them to turn around and face Nero again.

"You got it." Jim replied turning around and walking towards the Captain chair. "Arm phasers. Fire everything we've got."

"Yes sir." Sulu replied. Jim looked to Sophie, locking eyes with her reassuring himself she was there before he sat down in the Captain's seat.

The bridge then watched the black hole that was created, suck the Romulan ship in it as the Enterprise fired everything they had on it. The ship was completely gone and had disappeared in the hole by the time Jim told Sulu to take them home.

"Why aren't we at warp?" Jim questioned looking around them as they turned away to get out of there.

"We are sir." Chekov replied.

"Kirk to engineering. Get us out of here Scotty!" Jim said loudly over the noise.

"You bet your ass Captain!" They heard Scotty reply.

"Captain we're caught in a gravity well. It's got us!" Scotty said after a few moments.

"Go to maximum warp! Push it!" Jim replied.

"I'VE GIVEN HER ALL SHE'S GOT CAPTAIN!" Scotty shouted.

Sophie watched as the bridge and ship started to crack and break and she casted a look over at Jim worried.

"All she's got isn't good enough!"

"If we eject the core and detonate, the blast could be strong enough to push us away but I can't promise anything!" Scotty replied rushing his words.

"DO IT! DO IT! DO IT!" Jim bellowed

Scotty ejected the core and the crew waited as they detonated. A huge white cloud surrounded the ship as Sophie felt a launch forward and she had to hold onto her console so as not to fall down. Soon the ship zoomed out of the cloud of white and into space as the crew on the bridge seemed to let out collective sigh.

Sophie watched as Jim relaxed in 'his' chair and look back at Spock, then Sulu and Chekov before his eyes finally found hers. Jim smiled widely at her and slowly got out of his seat walking purposefully over to her. When he was close enough he pulled her into a tight hug squishing her to his body, relived that everything was over.

"Take us home Sulu." Jim said letting go of Sophie and heading back to 'his' chair.

"Aye Captain."
