Chapter 12- Escapee 2 ~ Clickers

Happy Easter, bunnies! (hehe, Easter bunnies)

I told you guys I'd be back for Sunday! Anyone get the reference in the chapter title? The idea kinda sprung at me when I was rereading the last chapter. So, it stuck and I got a brilliant idea! *smiles evilly*

Ok, this chapter is literally darker than the other chapters. Most of it is literally based in the darkness. There's a little bit of feels, just darkness, feels and creepy sounds. ;p Eh, I'll just shut up so you can see for yourself.

Last note, I decided to get rid of the POVs in this chapter. Tell me if you'd rather them because I will put them back if not.

Have fun with this chapter; I did!

Enjoy!

Sebastian and Ciel sat in a small café in the center of London. This was the same café where Catherine and Sebastian sat together long ago. With them sat Alois and Claude. They had made it 'official' while it still not being official to the public. Alois was panicking about Cat going missing while Claude had an annoyed look on his face.

"Why do you keep letting her get into trouble?! I thought you were her mate!" Alois shouted at Sebastian.

"I am. I leave her safety up to her as she has requested." Sebastian nodded politely.

"What does that mean? You can still watch her secretly! If you are lovers it wouldn't be stalking right?" Alois climbed on the table pointing to the demon angrily.

"I do, but this was not exactly my fault here. I was busy protecting my Master." Sebastian began to grow a scowl.

"He's a dem- Wah!" Alois was pulled down from the hips by Claude. Claude set him gently in his laps and wrapped his arms around the young boy's waist. "CLAUDE! LET ME GO!"

"Is that an order? Or do you secretly enjoy this?" Claude whispered in Alois' ear.

"C-c-Claude!" Alois turned a bright red and began to struggle.

"Can we get back to our main order of business here!?" Ciel growled angrily.

Alois finally stopped struggling and just sat still on his lover's lap. "All I know of these freaks is that they have this huge underground system full of tunnels, railways, and secret passages linked to each other and lead one huge room. Not all the routes lead to the room though. Some lead to dead ends and smaller rooms with traps and crazed dolls. All these rooms, tunnels and railways are pitch black so most that enter never come out. The only lit rooms are the Gallery and the smaller rooms that are used frequently. Only one tunnel leads to the gallery while all the others lead to trap rooms or excess rooms."

"How do you know so much on this?" Ciel questioned as he sipped his Earl Grey.

"Its very popular thing in America. Similar to the KKK there. The organization running that system is very a very popular group of killers. But everyone there only thinks they are human."

"They aren't?" Ciel gaped.

"No, of course not!" Alois had a serious face on now. No one but Claude and Catherine had seen this before.

"Then… what are they?"

"All the above."

"Excuse me?" Ciel glared at Alois' reply.

"Ugh, angels, demons, Nekos, demon hounds- smart demon hounds- and everything else supernatural you could find." Alois shrugged like it was nothing.

"Smart… demon hounds? You mean there are others smarting than the mutt we have at the Manor?" Ciel seethed and glared at Sebastian.

"Of course master." Sebastian chuckled. "Please tell me you didn't believe all animal demons are unintelligent."

"Well I thought of Catherine as an exception because she is only half demon!"

"No sir, not at all! Catherine is even more intelligent being that way. Why, if she was full-blooded she'd have more cat-like features."

"Features?"

Sebastian nodded with a grin. "Cat paws for feet, spots of fur on her arms and such, cat eyes all the time, and more cat like behaviors."

"You mean that if she was full-blooded she'd lie on my desk like a cat while in human form?" Ciel seethed with a slight hidden smirk. He secretly thought of that action as something a younger child would do to bother a parent. "We are getting off topic! Where is this system, Trancy?"

"I don't know." Alois said with a grin.

"Liar!" Ciel growled.

"Call me 'Alois' and I'll tell you. I'm tired of you calling me 'Trancy'."

"What?"

"Call me 'Alois'."

"No!"

"Oh, where oh where was that system again, Claude?" Alois laughed like a child.

"Fine! Fine! Alois, please tell me where the system is!" Ciel nearly begged.

"Oh, a please and a first name! Claude did you hear that?" Alois giggled and grinned happily. "Ok, ok, it's located somewhere in Maine. There is only one entrance and I don't know where. That's on you guys."

"Well then, Sebastian, get the car ready. We're going to Maine." Ciel nodded to his butler who returned a nod.

Catherine panted from the heat burning on her cheeks. She'd been running for hours trying to get out of the dark. At times the clicking had grown louder until her ears ached. Other times it would be faint or dead silent where only her breaths could be heard. The silence scared her more than the loud clicking.

"Damn Clickers." Cat growled and began to walk again. Of course, by now, Catherine was known for her short tolerance with swearing. Everyone knew that now. Never tick her off or else you'll get a room full of fifteen-year old swears.

"Clickers," She muttered "please tell me I'm not being followed by some damn zombies. Today is just not my day!"

Click! Click!

"Aw, Fudge!" Catherine began to run again. Trying to pick up the pace, she tripped and began in a tumbling roll down some form of a hill or ramp. Her back hit against a wall where there where dozens of clicks started echoing around her. A cold slender hand gabbed her shoulder and Catherine screamed.

Sitting in a sleek, black corvette, Ciel wore a tinted pair of black glasses as he watched the small town buildings and people pass by. Behind his darkened shades were angry red eyes burning with fury. Beside him sat Sebastian with the same grim expression. His hands were firmly-if not too firmly- locked on the steering wheel. The silence was a killer.

"Master," Sebastian finally broke the silence. His voice was laced with sorrow. "We've arrived at the local market. I will go gather information. Would you like to come?"

"No, I will take to my own investigation." Ciel said firmly as he climbed from the car. Sebastian looked surprised. "No one takes my knight without moving their piece first."

Sebastian smiled as he walked to his master and fixed the young man's tie and suit. Ciel was oddly must taller than he used to be. When he was younger-human- he was merely at the butler's elbows. Now, Ciel reached Sebastian's shoulders. Sebastian beamed again.

"What the bloody hell are you smiling at?" Ciel growled.

"Catherine would be honored to hear you care so dearly for her. To call her a knight while I am a mere pawn to you… well that is quite something." Sebastian smiled even bigger- if that was possible.

"Shut up." Ciel turned his face away, blushing. "I don't care about her."

"Oh? So you care for me then, knowing I'd be destroyed if she died again?"

"Certainly not! I hate you, you perverted B*st*rd!" Ciel snapped.

"Then you really do care for our dear neko." Sebastian nodded with a grin, ignoring Ciel's last statement.

"Why you-!"

The two males set off indifferent directions, asking about the 'secret system' located underground here in the local state. Ciel had a difficult time trying to persuade many men and women to tell. Those who did could not be understood due to 'accents', as Ciel claimed. Sebastian, however, had an easy time getting the details. He was more experienced with hypnotizing males, and seducing women. With the last woman Sebastian spoke with, he had gone to a great length to get this information. He had pulled her into a small abandoned warehouse to 'have fun' as the lady called it. Ciel, had caught Sebastian in the act and scolded his heavily afterwards.

"You should be ashamed, Sebastian!" Ciel growled, somehow sounding like a girl scolding her boyfriend. "You have a mate yet you still go off and do… THAT to other women you don't even know!"

"Master, are you taking Catherine's side, after you said clearly that you didn't care for her?" Sebastian acted surprised, but it was clear that it was an act.

"SHUT UP!"

FLASHBACK

"Sakura, Sakura!" A young boy called, running down the street.

"Haruto, where have you been? I've been looking for you everywhere!" Sakura replied happily.

Sakura was the same age as Haruto- seven. Haruto was young Japanese boy with spiky black hair with blue-black feathers parted around it in some places and bright green eyes. Haruto was a bird-demon; he could transform into a very large eagle-like bird. In his bird form, he had black eagle wings and body, crow head, and hawk talons. Sakura was the only person in Japan that knew of Haruto's ability.

"Sorry, Saku, Haha(1)needed me to go buy some bread for her before I can to hang out with you." Haruto bowed his head in apology.

"Hehe~ don't worry, Huto. Come on, let's go have some fun buying more food for my family!" Sakura grabbed the boy's hand and dragged him to the market.

"Oh, Shimai(2), do we have to?"

"Yes, Otouto(3), Chichi(4) said I have to before coming home. It's important!"

"Aw, but can't we do it in two hours, after we have a little fun?"

"Well, he said it didn't have to be right away…-"

"Great!" Haruto grabbed his friend's hand and began to drag her. Once they got a good distance, he formed into hos lager bird and tossed her on his back. "Ready to fly?"

END FLASHBACK

Catherine coughed a few times as she stayed huddled in a far corner in the dark. Catherine's eyes widened when she remembered Huto. She thought back to when they first called each other brother and sister- the day after they had met. The memory she just had was when she was seven, or three years after meeting him. She wondered how he was doing now. Was he finally with a real clan like he wished or did he stay as a lone demon?

Catherine coughed more as she inspected her wounds. She couldn't see anything due to the dark, however. Even being a cat-an animal known to see in the dark- it was far too dark for her eyes to adjust.

She could still feel the gooey substance on her skin, making it impossible for her to form or heal quickly. She realized her body was beginning to shut down and get fatigue. She wasn't sure how much her body could take or if she could even stand at this time.

All the sudden, her life seemed to flash before her eyes. She remembered hugging her mother on her birthday. Meeting Sebastian again at the library. Laughing with the Undertaker while prepping new coffins. Meeting Haruto for the first time. Seeing her brother alive again, even if he was encaged. And kissing her love like there was no problem in the world. She remembered the perverted words he'd say to her but truly meaning it in a compliment to her. She remembered how protective Sebastian was in her past life and even more now. How could she just let that all slip away again?

Eeeeee!

A squeal pierced the air and a black substance splashed against her face. A putrid stench filled the air. It smelled like rotting flesh. Catherine brought her hand over her mouth and nose as more liquid and squeals filled the air. After the squealing abruptly stopped, Catherine looked up to see four birhgt red eyes staring at her.

Yep... I went there. Awesome cliff hanger right?

No? okay… anywayss….

I just realized that this might go into four parts not three if I don't finish this up soon. You guys tell me… four or thee?

Anywways, here's the notes I had:

Haha ~ Used as 'mother' in this romanji, not a laugh.

Shimai ~ sister in romanji

Otouto ~ Brother in romanji

Chichi ~ father or papa in romanji.

*) Romanji is the Japanese language written out with the English alphabet and pronounced the same as the actual Japanese written language.

So, I just love that I made Ciel and Sebastian actually get along for once. It just fits somehow. Ciel's such a softy. Even if he won't admit it. :3

Ok, well, tell me what you guys thought! I love constructive criticism and compliments! Thanks for reading!
