Me: Bad person. Really really bad person.

Hii guys! I kinda feel really stupid because I say this in the beginning of every single chapter but: I am extremely sorry that I didn't update for such a long time. If I say now that I was busy with school, friends, family or that my dog is ill, I would be lying. The only thing that kept me from updating is ...well... fanfiction itself. I had a week holidays now and I started reading fanfics after such a long time and I just can't stop! LOVE IT!
Moreover I want to thank everyone who reads this story and is still loyal even though I am a bad person. (sorry again :))

You all might have noticed that I love reviews. I just wanna say that reviews really keep me inspired and they show me that someone out there is actually reading what I am writing and likes it (or not, I'm okay with that!). so this motivates me too and then I keep writing.

For the last chapter I only got three reviews and I wanna thank those people:

" Expandable Red Shirt " (BTW I am thinking about your request and will DEFINITELY write about it! thanks for the review)

" MoonyxPadfoot " ( Thanks a lot, I like your idea for a chapter too!)

" Rea558750 " ( Thanks that you review so much, I really appreciate it)

And now let move on to the next chapter. (I am going to separate this small story into two chapters, Don't worry I already have the second part so I won't too long updating)

Disclaimer: Guess what? I am not J K Rowling.

Chapter Twelve: Umbridge and her methods Part 1

Moving over from his friendly and lovely house to Grimmauldplace No 12 again hadn't been easy for Sirius. He had been bored the whole time and was even chased from his old childhood memories. The only thing that had kept him in the ancient house was the fact that it was safer for his goddaughter Alex.
Besides it wasn't always that bad when Remus stayed with him but his friend hasn't much time either because of the work he had to do for the order of the phoenix. Especially when Alex had been off to school and everyone else wasn't in the house, he had to force himself not to drink or just leave the house.

At the time when the Christmas holiday drew nearer he got happier and happier each day. Now he was sitting on the large wooden table of the Blacks but on one side of him Alex and everyone else, the Weasley's and every order member, even Snape -to his horror - had stayed over for dinner. Recently the most of them had started speaking about – what a surprise – Quiddich.

"Sirius I assure you that the Seeker is the most important member of the team!", Charlie said very enthusiastic. Alex lowered her head at the topic looking at her plate. She hadn't told her godfather and uncle that she again had had a fierce argument with Umbridge and was therefore blocked from the team. The professor had even taken away her broom. Alex was sure that the two men wouldn't take this information too good.

Sirius rolled his eyes dramatically, "Sure, Weasley. Nothing can beat a beater!"

"True", the Weasley twins chorused and grinned identically.

"Ohh and speaking of Quiddich", Sirius announced excitedly and turned to Alex. "We will be there at the next Quiddich match, Lexi. GRYFFINDOR versus Slytherin, it's gonna be great."

Alex froze in her seat and all the students looked down at their plate, pretending to eat again. McGonagall looked at her former student confused, asked, "Why would you still go to the match?"

Remus and Sirius looked at her baffled, "Why shouldn't we?"

Alex didn't know what to do or to say to save the situation but before she could even react or interrupt, McGonagall continued with a frown, "I just would have thought that you won't came because Mrs. Potter isn't playing anymore."

The room got silent and nearly everyone looked at Alex who tried to be as small as possible. McGonagall had apparently understood that Sirius and Remus hadn't known anything about it because her lips got thin and a stern expression appeared on her face.
"What?", Sirius gasped and then he turned to his goddaughter next to him.

"Alex?", Remus asked again looking at the teenager.

The girl sighed and whispered, "I won't play"

"B-But why?", Sirius said his voice strained with frustration.

"Er..um,.", Alex rubbed her neck. Looking in the round she saw the students looked angry as they remembered that she wasn't playing anymore, McGonagall had a bitter expression on her face, whereas Snape had a greasy smile. The other order members were kind of confused and interested but others like Moody weren't interested at all.

Sirius got impatient because it didn't seem that Alex was going to answer soon. "Alex, would you like to enlighten us?"

Alex looked at her godfather and Remus apologetically and explained, "I was thrown out of the Quiddich team be-because Umbridge...well I..no she...um.."

Sirius and Remus immediately understood and groaned, "Alex, honey, not again!"

Alex glared at them but didn't say anything. How was she just supposed to stay clam and not defend her uncle when this evil woman wouldn't stop talking bad about werewolves? The worst thing was that she had referred to Remus, called him bad names like half-breed, monster and other things that had made Alex blood boil.

Remus sighed heavily and ran a hand through his hair, "Alex, cub, we know it's hard but just try to ignore what she says about Voldemort. The most important thing is that we believe you, isn't it?"

"It wasn't about Voldemort", Alex mumbled in a bad mood and looked down to hide her anger.

"Not?", Sirius asked surprised. "What was it about then?"

"Nothing", Alex answered too quickly and hid also her hands in her sweater. She knew that Remus just would just feel guilty and say that everything was his fault.

She shot Ron and Hermione a look to warn them not to tell anything while she also prayed that McGonagall wouldn't say anything.

"Nothing?", Remus frowned, clearly not believing her.

"Yeah", she answered shortly and took a bite from her meal while her right hand was still under the table in her large sweater.

"Potter they deserve to know!", McGonagall said with a small frown and in her voice was a hint of stern. The professor hadn't expected Alexandra not to tell Remus and Sirius what had happened. She added in her mind to always sent the marauders a letter whenever something happened.

Alex sighed heavily and looked again up at Sirius and Remus. "Look, guys...Umbridge she..We actually had a 'normal' lesson like every time but this time..."

She paused a little and reminded herself that there wasn't any way out of this and continued without looking at anyone.

"But..um this time we were covering werewolves", she stopped and glanced shortly at Remus. She noticed his face getting hard and also a little bit paler but nevertheless he gave her an encouraging nod.

Alex lowered her head a little and continue half-heartedly, knowing that she was going to hurt Remus with her words.

"Umbitch-

"POTTER!", barked McGonagall, her nostrils were wide and her lips had gotten really thin.

"Sorry, Professor", Alex apologized and continued, "Well anyway Umbridge let us read a text about werewolves, in which they were described really...really rudely and-and she just talked really bad about them."

She paused a little and looked and Remus. His gaze was fixed on the candle which was standing on the wooden table. His expression was blank but everyone could easily tell that he was way paler than usual and that his eyes had turned somehow gold. Remus on the other hand couldn't believe that Alex was getting herself into trouble just because of him. He didn't want her to be in detention especially with Dolores Umbridge. Alex voice brought him back to present. He noticed her voice trembling with anger and her eyes flashed dangerously too.

"She started calling all werewolves horrific and ugly names and I am sorry Sirius but I just couldn't stand her anymore when she directly referred to...to-to Remus"

This sentence effected the peoeple who were present in various ways. The golden trio, Sirius and most of the Weasley family looked angry whilst some others like Tonks, Kingsley seemed to be more shocked that someone could say these horrendous things about Remus Lupin.

Remus himself tried his best to hide his emotions, to seem strong and cool about it. What he didn't know was that his eyes and some of his gestures were revealing his true emotions. His amber eyes showed nothing but sadness but also anger. He was holding his fork so hardly, that his knuckles had gone white in the last minutes hearing Alex tell that. What he didn't know either was that his face was paler than usual and Alex thought to notice that her kind uncle's face looked somehow older. As if with every word Alex had said, his wrinkles around his eyes and on his forehead got deeper and more defined.

Alex and every other student around the table expected Alex to get into more trouble, they expected her to get grounded or to get detention but nobody expected Sirius to lean over her, lay his arm around her shoulder and kiss her temple tenderly.

"I'm proud of you, Prongslet", he whispered. And Alex knew what he meant. He wasn't proud of her for getting herself into trouble and following in her father footsteps, no. He was proud that no matter what, Alex was brave enough to fight against the toad and for her family. He was proud that she was smart enough to know that Remus wasn't a monster or a "dirty halfbreed".

Remus didn't seem to understand in which way Sirius was proud. He turned to his friends, cleared his throat while he raised a brow and said, "Don't encourage her Sirius!"

" I am not encouraging her, I just think it is good that she knows that everything Umbitch says is rubbish!"

Remus got impatient at his friend. He didn't seem to understand. Remus didn't want anyone to suffer for him, especially not Alex.

"She's her teacher, Sirius! She should try to be in good terms with her! "

Everyone else sat around the table, not daring to say or do anything. They observed their conversation (argument?) silently while Sirius was not understanding the world anymore. "Are you...Remus, mate please tell me you are not defending Umbridge! After all she said?"

"No-I..Merlin.."

Remus sighed and rubbed his face tiredly. He did this every time he needed to think and the man felt like he needed nothing more in this situation.

"Alex, cub. What I try to say is that please don't get in trouble for me!", Remus begged after he gave up thinking clearly.

"Especially not with Umbrigde because I know this woman and she isn't entirely what I call kind and nice.", Alex' honorary uncle continued.

Everyone around the table snorted at him. Even when this woman was being ridiculously rude and call him bad names he would call her 'not entirely kind and nice'.

"I know. But it isn't as bad anyway.", Alex said with a small smile, noticing the look of guilt on Remus face.

The golden trio had finished eating and they were about to leave, Alex careful not to hurt or let someone see her hand, when Remus called them back.

"Lexi what does she make you do? You know, in detention", Remus asked curiously, trying desperately to figure out that is really wasn't that 'bad'.

"Wh-What?", Alex stuttered and prayed that she had heard wrong while she hid her hands in her sweater.
