Chapter 12

Silver looked at the sign with his mother's name on it almost a billion and one times. Gold urged the red head to keep it moving inside, so that they could see her. But there was something holding him back. This feeling had Silver frozen in place, frozen in time even. He didn't know what he'd say at this meet and greet, he didn't know how he would even approach her. Would he slip and fall on his face? Would he scream like an annoying fangirl? His hands began to shake at his troubling dilemma. Gold, almost immediately grabbed his frantic boyfriend's soft, trembling hands and held them up, Silver's eyes wandered up to meet Gold's amber ones as the black haired boy moved in front of the sign.

"Hey, this is your chance Silver. Maybe you're only chance.." He said calmly. "I may not believe in destiny and fate sometimes, but if there were a time to do so it'd be now." Silver slowly nodded his head in understanding, but also with doubt, "What if she doesn't want me anymore? Those letters she sent date back years ago when I was still a kid. What if..." His voice trailed off, "Love me?" The words emptied out of Silver's mouth like the last drop of water from a glass. But his mouth soon became occupied with Gold's soft lips. He felt his heart race to life as he returned the kiss. When they broke away Gold said with a serious look on his face, "Well at least you'll still have me. And I love you Sil. More than you'll ever know. Now come on!" Gold slowly pushed the door open pulling Silver into the theater lobby where a line was forming to meet the Garvey Quartet. As soon as the door closed, Silver felt many eyes on him.

Whispers and murmurs filled the room along with the enthusiastic chatter from the fans. Some of the whispers started to become audible to Silver and he heard bits of, "He looks like her!" As well as as "Who is that boy?" Why was all of this attention on him, he wondered.

But he couldn't think about it for too long because Gold was pulling him towards the table where the four musicians sat. Ariana was looking down and writing something. The other two members smiled at the two boys and exclaimed, "Hi! How are you two boys doing today?!" Silver smiled uncomfortably and Gold smiled enthusiastically, such an odd pair these two were some times. "Oh my! Are you two an item?!" Exclaimed the celloist, pointing at their clasping hands. Gold smiled ever so brightly, Silver clenched on to Gold's sleeve trying to hide his blush. It made Gold's heart flutter making the blush contagious. The two string players clapped their hands together and proceeded to go on about how cute they were together. They reminisced about their youth and crushes and such, "Oh young love!" Said the violinist, "Oh YES! Ugh I miss that so much! Now I'm stuck with such an old fart!" The two of them chuckled loudly, gaining the attention of Ariana who broke her conversation with a fan.

"What are you two princesses giggling about?" She smiled as she turned to them. The violinist pointed to Silver and Gold, "Look! Aren't these two boys just the cutest?!" He exclaimed, "The red haired one especially!" Chimed the celloist. Ariana simply giggled, it was so familiar to him that it made him tense up. When she finally turned to the two she began, "Would the couple like a special autogra-?" She cut off her sentence, and her face turned white as she gasped loudly. It filled the room and hushed everyone. It was dead silent.

In that moment.

Silver and his mother had locked eyes. His greyish, silvery ones meeting her dark crimson red ones. It was each others hair that made them believe they were staring into a mirror...

The silence seemed to annoy Lucas Garvey as he turned to see what was going on. His face went white as well as he quickly stood up and waved his arms frantically to advert the fans attention. He shouted, "H-hello folks! Unfortunately, we have to get ready for tonight's final show! Please exit now and enjoy!" The guards and security immediately ushered all of the disapproving fans out of the building, except for Silver and Gold. They were taken to an isolated room.

They waited for what felt like hours before a guard stepped in with Lucas in tow. He pushed his green hair back and looked at Silver, he beckoned him to come closer. "Ariana would like to see you personally. Sorry about the whole situation. We all arent feeling too great as this is our final show for our home town." He smiled charmingly. Gold puffed and folded his arms, "Why can't I go with him?" Lucas sighed but Silver waved it off, he went to Gold and kissed him on the cheek. "It'll be ok, remember why we're here? This is something I should do alone anyway." Silver's smile made him look beautiful to Gold. He thought, "How could another man be so beautiful?" Gold pecked Silvers nose and smiled back, "You're right I guess. You know where to find me afterwards ok love?" He puffed and raised an eyebrow to Lucas, making the green haired man startle a bit.

Silver giggled, "Yes my love. Thank you for pushing me this far Gold. I would've never had gotten this far without you, and when I come back, I'll introduce you to her." Silver spun around to the door slowly, "Hey," Gold called. "I love you." He grinned, Silver blushed furiously in embarrassment. He couldn't believe he'd have the courage to give Gold a kiss on the cheek in front of people but things like this made him go back to his shy ways. "I-I love you too." He said quietly but just loud enough for Gold to hear.

He stepped out of the room and followed Lucas to the backstage dressing rooms. They stopped at one that said Ariana in big letters, encased in a star. "Right this way." Lucas said cautiously. It unnerved Silver but he shook it off. This wasn't the time, he had to do this. Lucas opened the door and Silver pushed past him quicker than anything. He looked around for his mother, instead he saw an ordinary dressing room. His heart started beating faster as he was realizing what was really going on here...

"Oh." Said Lucas shutting the door behind him, "She must have left. My apologies but, I've worked way too hard to let you go and screw this up again." The door clicked and only Silver and Lucas were in the room, alone...
