Chapter Twelve

*Renesmee's POV*

"How do you know that we're vampires?" I questioned slowly, looking the the medium height, blonde girl who just told us she knows about my family's biggest secret. "Vampires...Just how, Grace?"

"I...I...I should have never even come here," Grace muttered, attempting to walk towards the exit. Of course that wasn't going to work against a household filled with supernatural creatures. Lily and I both got in her way before she could even really move, making sure she couldn't get past us.

"Grace, please...You're my friend, tell me," I begged her, my eyes filled with tears as I went to hold both of her hands. She bit her lip, looking down at my hands as her blonde curls covered her face. "Come on Grace, I know something is up. I'm your friend. Please, I promise nothing will happen."

"Nessie, this is something I cannot tell anyone. It'll get you killed, that's what I've learned. My past, my family's past, it's dangerous!" She said, looking up at me with tears filled in her eyes. I could tell she was scared as she let go of my hands and looked all around at our family hopelessly.

"Shh, Grace. No one is going to harm you," My mother spoke softly to her as she came to her side. Her tone was very motherly and kind. "Please tell us, we can help you."

"No you can't. I know they say your coven is all powerful, standing up against the Volturi and everything, but that doesn't cut it. Merda, mia mamma sta per essere arrabbiati. Nessuno è stato mai dovuto scoprirlo. Questo metterà in pericolo la nostra famiglia, ancora una volta," Grace said, cursing in Italian as she rubbed her temples.

"Is she speaking Italian?" Aidan mumbled to us, jerking his thumb towards her. "Because I recognized the part where she said shit. I may suck at languages, but I know when someone curses in one."

"Yes she is, son," Carlisle said patting Aidan on the back. Our grandfather sighed as he came forward, coming closer to Grace. "Grace, dear, how do the Volturi know about you?"

"And how do you know about us?" Masen quipped, looking at Grace directly in the eyes. "I thought we could trust you, Grace."

"You're a spy, aren't you!?" Lily blurted out, growling and getting into a defensive stance. "Well you can go tell those pigheaded stupid Volturi they aren't welcome around our family!"

"It's not like that," Grace snapped, her voice choking out in a sob as she backed up into the wall. Her entire frame was shaking as she slide down the wall a bit. "I hate them! I hate the Volturi! They ruined my family! They're the reason my brother's gone and my father's dead! They ruined my life and my mother has it in her head that all vampires are evil-"

"Woah, Grace. Slow down. Start from the beginning," I said to her. I gently approached my friend and went to rub her shoulders in a comforting manner. "Please, we can help."

Grace looked up at me with blue eyes, swarming with a sea of tears. She blinked for a few moments before taking a deep breath. "Fine. But this is the reason why I'm so distant, why I can't have Lisa or Tori, or anyone else in my life ever again. It's because this is a dangerous piece of information to know. I'm scared that it's something that'll get you all killed as well."

"We'll be fine Grace," I whispered to her, sending my friend a small reassuring smile. "We're a powerful group of people in our world, telling us might help."

She nodded, taking a deep breath as I then helped her up. "Alright...I guess I'll tell you my story."

"You better be telling the truth, by the way," Lily announced narrowing her eyes at Grace. Ethan attempted to put a hand on Lily's shoulder to calm her down, but nothing was stopping her from telling Grace off. "Because I like you sweetie, but if you harm my family I will find you, and I'll squish you like a bug. Even if it's the last thing I'll ever do. Understand."

"Got it," Grace whispered, nodding her head at Lily.

From there we all made our way to the living room. I sat with Grace on the same couch while the rest of my family gathered around her. Jacob was across the room, by the doorway, but he was eying us warily.

I bite my lip as I look up at him with reassuring eyes. It seemed to ease him a little, but I could tell he was nervous that I was around Grace. I just hope he doesn't find her a threat of some sort.

"So...Care to tell us?" Lizzy asked, smiling softly at Grace as she then bravely took a seat next to her. "Because judging from your mind, I can tell you aren't someone evil."

"I agree with Lizzy on this one," Ethan muttered from his spot on the ottoman next to Lily. "Her mood, and everything about her seems pretty clean. Plus I have my shield around this area so there's no way in hell she can leave."

"Wait, what? Repeat?" Grace said, fumbling a bit on her words. "Mind reading and a shield..."

"It's their powers, you have to excuse them," I said, giving her a weak smile. She gave me a weak smile back as she then took a deep breath.

"I kind of figured you all had powers, but I was surprised to see a bunch of new members besides Renesmee. I knew of Renesmee and her kind from my mother, but I thought it was all just nonsense," Grace rambled softly like it wasn't such a big deal. I frowned hearing this and looked at her carefully. She knows about me too?

"You knew who I was when we met?" I asked her. She shook her head right away as she went to look up at me.

"No, I didn't realize who you were until today really. I just thought it was a coincidence or something, you having the same name as the hybrid who escaped the Volturi. You're pretty well known actually," She told me.

"Grace...Yeah, maybe you want to tell us what you are first," Aidan interrupted, raising his eyebrows at her. "My first question though is, are you a hybrid too? Or are you some freaky fish girl hiding in a human body. Or you're a processed demon trying to take over-"

"Aidan, we got the point," Masen said, rolling his eyes at our cousin. "Grace, go on."

"Um yeah, right. I'm a human, well I'm pretty sure I am a human...I guess I could be classified as a 'hybrid' if you really wanted to."

"What do you think you are?" I asked her.

Grace paused as she then looked at us with nervous eyes and held her breath. I could tell she was scared to say anything, but soon the words were slipping off her tongue. "Well...What if I told you my mother was a witch?"

We all froze as we looked at Grace with curiosity, amazement, and spectacle eyes. No one but my grandfather and maybe my dad has ever seen a witch. I knew they existed, after all we're pretty sure one created the Lux Lamia, but an actual living breathing witch. Wow.

"You're a witch? How?" Lily whispered, gasping at Grace.

"I'm not a witch," Grace corrected her quickly. "My mother is one, but that doesn't mean I am one too. My father was a human, so that doesn't make me a full witch. I don't show any signs of being supernatural, as far as my mother and I are concerned, and I really hope to keep it that way."

"So you're like Sabrina in a way? Half witch, except unlike Sabrina you don't have any magic?" Lily said, referencing the old T.V show we use to watch together.

"Yes, I am in a way. Without all the magic and talking cats..."

"So that's how you know about us then, your mother's a witch?" I guessed. "It would make sense, why you would be scared. The Volturi make a lot of us look kind of scary, but really vampires like us are at peace with humans so there isn't anything to worry about."

"I know that Ness, but you do realize your family is Aro's biggest targets. After all you have three hybrids, and three...What are Masen, Lizzy, and um Ethan? Are they hybrids too or..."

"We're a certain species of vampire, Lux Lamia," Ethan filled her in, clearly sure he could trust Grace. "We're kind of rare?"

"Lux Lamia!" Grace gasped, her eyes widening at the words. "You mean, you're Angelo Bambino! How could this be?"

"You know about us!?" Masen questioned, his eyes wide with shock. "Wait, what's an Angelo Bambino?"

"It means angel child in Italian..." I trailed off, eyeing Grace slightly. "Why angel child?"

"It's the Italian name I suppose...You have three Angelo Bambino in your home and you've never even heard of the legends?"

"Well it's kind of hard to find out stuff about our kind, considering there isn't a lot about it," Ethan explained to her.

"Yes, I don't blame you there. A few witches in this world have record of them, but there aren't a lot in this world. Many of your kind has been mistaken for vampires or angels even, because of their origin."

"Origin, you know the origin of the Lux Lamia?" Ethan questioned slowly, hearing something that could lead not just him, but my siblings, to the truth about their kind. The same truth we've been searching for over three years it seems.

"Yes, I will hopefully tell you what I know, but as far as I'm considered...They're myths. There is only three witch codex's that have any information on them. Your species if very rare, very very rare," Grace explained to them.

"It's lovely that Grace has the information, but I think we're trailing off from the real reason as to why we're all gathered up in the living room," My dad announced to us with our mother glued to his side. He then turned to Grace with soft eyes. "Grace, can you maybe explain to everyone how you know about us, besides being related to a witch and why you know so much."

"I don't know...I just don't know where to start. There's so much about my past that not a lot of people know about," She whispered, fiddling with her hands. "But I will try...I mean I've always had a normal life. I never noticed that anything was wrong, probably until I was ten. My father and mother raised my brother, Robert, and I in a loving household and gave us everything we needed. We did move around the city a lot. Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx, I've basically lived everywhere in this city... My parents loved both of us more than anything in the whole entire world. My father and brother were my best friends, and I love them a lot."

"First, it was my dad that would leave me. He died when I was ten...Well, we think he died. My dad went on a business trip to Seattle in 2006, never to be heard from again. The police told us he was dead, but we didn't stop trying to find him...But as far as we're all concerned, he's dead...That was the first sign to my supernatural life. Then there was my brother, Robert. You see Robert isn't like me...In fact, we don't even share the same father."

"What do you mean?" I asked her slowly. Grace sighed, as she wiped away some of the tears that kept falling out of her eyes.

"When I was eleven, I learned that my brother was my half brother. It is also when I learned my mother was a witch because some witches might 'bloom' early when it comes to their powers around eleven. For most though it's fourteen or sixteen. So after my mother told me what she was, she then told me how Robert is half vampire and half warlock..."

"How is that possible?" my brother questioned, gasping with the rest of my family. A half warlock-vampire child? I knew of Lorenzo, so I shouldn't be in too much shock, but still. It was pretty weird considering we haven't come across one or someone who knows of one.

"I'm not that surprised," Lily admitted to us, huffing. "Anyone else remember Lorenzo? Creepy guy made of all four. Tried to kill us when we were small children. Had a creepy army and had very sadistic ideas."

"Right...How could we forget our neighborhood physco," Seth muttered under his breath.

"It is possible though, a hybrid like this. I've heard of a few cases, but believed them to be myths. That was until we learned about Lorenzo's mother," Grandpa told us.

"Anyway, Grace, why don't you continue," Masen muttered, trailing off as he went to gently touch Grace's hand. She blushed a bit, but the tears still leaked our of her eyes. It was like her blue eyes just always seemed to be filled with sorrow.

"Well Robert's father...He...His name is...Marcus."

"Marcus," I said slowly, letting the name of the depressed and angry vampire roll off my tongue. The same Marcus who was brothers to Aro, and the same Marcus who ruled the Volturi.

Out of all the three brother's, Marcus is sort of what you might call my 'favorite'. He wasn't as creepy as Aro and less sadistic than Caius. I just felt like Marcus was a poor old lonely soul, trying to be happy in this world.

"So you're saying that Marcus Volturi, is your brother's baby daddy?" Aidan said, narrowing his eyes. "How!?"

"Aro forced him to rape my mother not too long after she married my father. They were both scared to death about what could happen, but they brought my brother into this world and raised him without Marcus even knowing! They told him that my brother died in child birth, and they escaped to New York after that!" Grace explained to us, her voice getting angrier. "And don't think, just for one second that my brother is like the cruel Volturi! My brother did nothing but sacrifice everything for my family! My father even loved my brother like he was his very own!"

"Don't worry Grace, no one is blaming you," I whispered, rubbing her forearm in reassurance as she cried. "It's okay."

"Aro is a madman," Uncle Jasper muttered to us, shaking his head. "Why does he get his brother in law to rape some poor girl, who clearly was in love and had a whole life ahead of her?"

"Well, my witch side of the family is pretty powerful, so that made her a nice candidate for the old bastard. Aro gave my mother pay back for being the only one in her family to survive, but that is another story," Grace said, sighing.

"What happened to Robert? Why is he declared missing? I know something bad happened," Masen said to Grace. "I've seen it in the others minds."

Grace sighed, letting the tears stream down as she held tighter onto the hand Masen was offering her. "The Volturi took him away from us, plain and simple. They found out he was alive about two years ago. They busted into our home and took him from my mother and I. We tried to get him back, but they won't let us have Rob. We then had to cover it up with a fake disappearance, and the rest is history...God, I miss him," Grace said, sobbing.

"It's okay," I whispered to her, rubbing her shoulders as I hugged my friend from the side.

"And my mother's not going to be happy to learn that my best friend is part vampire. She has hated vampires ever since the Volturi killed her family," She said to me once she calmed down a bit.

"Don't tell her then!" I blurted out. "I don't want to lose you Grace."

"Me neither Nessie. You all have been so kind to me, and I can't see you all as any evil. Considering your diet and respect for human life, but my family won't approve of this. Witches do not favor vampires," She told me. "But, I'm going to wait to tell my mother. She needs to get to know you first, Ness, and the others. Then I'll slowly tell her. She might take it easier since she can get to know you better."

"I won't tell you how to handle this, but please maybe tell your mother soon so we could maybe talk to her. I'm sure we can come to an understanding. We aren't like most vampires," Grandpa told Grace. "As you can see, we just want to be a family. We aren't looking for power like the Volturi or are interested in killing any humans."

"I know, and that's why I haven't run off yet. I think it's safe to say I trust your family," Grace said, giving us a small smile. "I like your family. It's different from most supernatural ones. You have so many different species and your kind to me, plus your family bond is very strong. I sincerely believe that my mother will learn to like you all."

"Good, I just hope for the best," My grandfather said, rubbing his temples. "I just have a question, what year was Robert born? Is he older than you or..."

"He was born in December of 1994. I was born two years later in 1996. Why do you ask?" Grace questioned him.

Grandpa sighed as he went to rub his temples, shaking his head. "Well, just as I thought. This means that Aro had previous knowledge of hybrids before he came here for Renesmee when she was a child."

Everyone grew quiet and I felt myself begin to chew on my lip more. "Well maybe not. He did think Renesmee was an immortal child because Irina told him. Not that I'm defending him or anything," Alice said, holding Abby close to her. "I didn't see anything in my visions hinting off that he knew about hybrids. Anyway he might have thought a lot of these hybrids were myths, and just wanted to see if they could be created."

"Well I'm not sure for certain how he knew my brother could be made," Grace said softly. "I always felt that it was just an experiment to hurt the two, even Marcus."

"True, but look. Why don't we all just turn in for the night, it is getting late now and I'm pretty sure your mother wants you home Grace," Aunt Alice said, now looking towards her with a small smile. "You can come again tomorrow, maybe we'll talk some more when Rose and Emmett get back."

"Oh shoot, your right...Wait...How does she know?" Grace asked slowly, frowning at Aunt Alice. We all chuckled as I went to go give Grace a small pat on the back.

"She's physic. Don't worry, we'll tell you our stories tomorrow, if you want to come," I said to her. She sent me a small smile and nodded.

"I'd like that. Thank you all so much," Grace addressed our entire family as the both of us stood up.

"No problem Grace. You're Renesmee's friend, which makes you apart of this family now. We protect our family," My mom said to her, smiling as she went to give Grace a small hug.

"Thank you Mrs. Cullen. And let me guess, you aren't Renesmee's sister," Grace said, chuckling.

"You got that right." My mom giggled as my dad came to her side and snaked his arms around her. "And you can probably tell that Edward is her father and Lizzy is her actual sister, but we'll tell you more things tomorrow."

"Agreed. And I'll tell you all about the Angelo Bambino, or Lux Lamia tomorrow too," Grace said to everyone before we left the room.

"Great, see you tomorrow Gracie!" Lizzy called out to her. I smiled as I then went to take my best friend away by her hand.

"You don't know how nice it was to tell you all that. I was so scared too, but honestly it feels like a huge weight's been lifted off my shoulders," Grace said to me as we got away from the rest of my family, heading towards the front door.

"I bet it does. You know just talking to someone can help, and you can always come to me if you need to talk. We're best friends now," I told her.

Grace smiled at me as she then leant forward to give me a hug. I chuckled as we both held onto one another. "You've been such a great friend to me. I'm glad your my best friend."

"I'm glad too," I said to her as we pulled apart. "Hey do you need a ride home? Or.."

"No, it's fine. I'm walking."

"You sure, because it's not a problem to get someone to drive you," I offered her.

"Nah, I'll be fine. I know these streets like the back of my hand. I've lived here my whole life," She said, smirking at me as she placed her black coat on. "Don't worry. I'll see you tomorrow."

"Okay, see ya," I said to her.

"Wait!" I heard Masen yell as he came rushing into the room. "Do you mind if I walk with you Grace, I kind of want to talk to you."

"Um sure, I don't see why not. Just don't pull any funny business buddy," Grace said teasingly as she stepped out of the house. "Bye Ness!"

"Bye!" I call out to her as Masen zipped past me to follow Grace up the block. They are so going to become a couple. Call it instinct. Grace and Masen are two puzzle pieces that need to be put together already.

I then headed upstairs to get dressed for the night. Tonight was one long day, and I'd like some shut eye.

When I was all ready for bed I spotted none other than Jake waiting for me on my window bench. He was in a white night shirt and a pair of pajama pants I bought him for his twentieth birthday with wolves going all along them.

"Hey there," I greeted him as I sat down next to him. "What's up?"

"Nothing much, just seeing how you're holding up, learning that your best friend is related to a witch and is associated with a clan of vampires who hates this family's guts."

"I'm fine, surprisingly. I know Grace trusts us, and I trust her. I can tell Jake, I can just read people like that," I said to him.

"I know, that's where your not like your mother or even your father. Maybe your mom a bit, but you've always had this way with people. No matter who you meet, you can charm them. It's hard not to like you," Jacob mused as he looked out the window.

I sighed as I then cuddled up to him. Jacob smiled a little as he went to wrap his arms around me, letting my head lean against his chest. I loved being in Jacob's arms, they were always nice and warm.

"Thanks, but I'm glad Grace can know. It was killing me to keep this away from her," I admit to him.

"I know, I felt the same way when I kept my wolf identity from your mother and I'm sure your father felt the same. It sucks, but it always works it's way out in the end."

"Yeah, it does," I agreed with him as I went to look out my window to see the city lights twinkle in the dark. It wasn't long before I then fell asleep in Jacob's nice warm arms, dreaming about us being back in Forks.

In the dream we were holding hands as we walked up the beach, watching the waves crash. His arms wrapped around me and our lips were close to touching. Soon my lips were touching his. We shared a nice long passionate kiss before pulling apart to watch the waves again.

I felt like I needed to snap out of this dream, but honestly I didn't want to wake up. It was a really good dream, a dream I wished was real.

*Masen's POV*

"So, you know about Lux Lamia?" I asked Grace as we walked up the sidewalk. It was late at night and the city still seemed to be alive.I was just scared that anything could happen to Grace. Cities are filled with people, good and bad. You don't know who you might run into, also considering the fact that she's now tied to our family, and we just seem to have a lot of danger magnets.

"Yes, but as far as I'm concerned they're legends, like I've told you. There are only like five probably in the world, including you, Lizzy, and Ethan. It's hard to come across them," She explained to me.

"Please, tell me all you know. I don't know anything about my kind, only the few facts Ethan has been able to dig up over the years and the ones my family has discovered ourselves. Who created us, and why? How powerful are we? How come my parents had to conceive me in some pool?" I asked her.

"I don't know entirely everything. There is so little information, only a few pages. I do know a witch created your kind. I know that her name is Meredith, and unlike most witches she is the child of an original and an angel. Your kind is really powerful, the most powerful species in our universe. Your divine practically and you were all created for a reason. Basically you were chosen by the magia piscina, or the 'magic pool'. It's a pool of magic that she created for some reason that chooses certain vampire mates to create children of your kind, and when the vampires create the children the pool disappears from them forever and waits for the next two vampires to fall into it's trap. That's all I know," Grace explained to me, swinging her hands in her pockets.

"So I'm really that powerful? Are you sure? Even Lizzy? Ethan?" I asked her wide eyed.

I knew we were powerful, but could this mean danger for our family. If the Volturi find out about us, or even others who thirst for power...We'll be screwed. I would never be able to live with myself if anything happened to Lizzy or Ethan because of this, or even the rest of my family. I'm scared for Lizzy though, she's so young. She doesn't deserve what Nessie or even I had to endear, having a short and dramatic childhood. She's still a child, she deserves to treasure it.

"Yes, I don't know what your destiny is Masen Cullen, but you have one. People of your kind were made for goodness, that's what I believe," Grace said to me, smiling softly. "Or at least for our universe."

"What do you mean our universe..."

"There are other universes out there, you know. Other dimensions and worlds. Not trying to sound very scientific, but there are other dimensions that have different creatures like Lux Lamia that are the most powerful in their worlds. I've heard of these vampire children called Luna Bambini that are kind of similar to yours along with Witchblood Children, Bambini Galassia, and even children called Elementals. There are always unique vampire creatures that exist it seems," Grace said to me.

"Wow, so there could be another Masen somewhere else," I teased with her. She chuckled as she went to give me a playful nudge.

"I guess you can say that. There could also even be another Renesmee or even me." She laughed as we neared the corner.

"No. There's only one Grace, and that's you," I said, not thinking what I just said. She looked up at me and blushed a bright red.

"Well your my only Masen, so I guess the same goes for you," She said back to me. I chuckled as I felt her fingertips brush mine. I smile as I felt them touch mine again. I then slowly intertwine my fingers with hers. None of us stopped our motions, and I didn't want to. Her hand fit nice with mine.

"I'm curious though," She blurted out to me. "About why you can't read my mind. It doesn't make sense. Apparently your father and Lizzy can, but you can't?"

"I don't know either. Maybe it's some weird bonding thing my dad was talking about," I said, shrugging.

"Bonding...As in..."

"Nothing, never mind...He was talking about us having a very strong um relationship?" I said, my statement coming out more like a question.

"Maybe," She said, blushing again as we made it to her apartment.

Grace's apartment is in a pretty nice part of the city and is in a nice quiet building located above a florist it seems. It's on the corner, so she probably has more windows in her place compared to others.

"My mom is asleep. She's worked a lot ever since my father went missing. She wakes up really early too, so I don't see her much," Grace admitted as she unlocked the front door. "You can come in, if you'd like."

"Um sure," I said reluctantly. I followed her into the small place. Her apartment was pretty cozy. When you walked in there was a small kitchen on the side with a bar going across. In front of us was a small living room space that looked like pretty much any family room or living room. Two couches with a coffee table, a T.V, and the walls were all a nice creme color. Pictures of their family were scattered all around and the house smelt like peppermint.

"It's really nice," I tell her as I look around.

"Thanks, I guess. I wouldn't call it very big, but it's home," She said, chuckling a bit. Grace sighed as she placed her jacket down on the arm chair before turning to look at me again. "Masen...This is going to sound weird, or maybe not...But I um, I thought that maybe you hated me..."

I looked up at her with shock when I heard those words. "Grace, I don't hate you. I could never hate you."

"But why do I feel like you seem so, I don't know...Weirded out about me or I don't know, distracted."

"Grace...You...I can't believe I'm saying this, but you drive me crazy," I said to her gently, taking both of her warm hands in mine. "I can't read your mind, your pretty amazing, and...I feel like I need to protect you. I don't know why though."

"Protect me? From what?" she asked slowly, narrowing her eyes. "I don't exactly need protection..."

"I don't know, Grace. It's just, confusing," I admit to her. She sighed as she took a few steps closer to me. She was only a few inches away from my face now and I could feel her breath tickling my skin. Everything was making my senses run wild. My heart was beating faster than it has ever before and I felt like I couldn't even breathe.

Grace goes to place her hand on my chest as she looks up at me with innocent blue eyes. "I know," she admitted. "I know, Masen. I feel something for you, I just don't know yet."

"Maybe we'll figure it out," I said to her. I slowly grab the hand on my chest and hold it tight to the spot right above my heart.

"I feel happy with you Masen, and your family. I don't want to lose any of you," She said to me, a few tears welding up in her eyes.

"And you won't. I promise," I whispered to her. She smiled at me as she leant forward to give me a surprise peck on the cheek, making me want to blush.

"Thank you," She whispered. I nodded, smiling as I then went to pull her into a hug without really thinking anything through. She gave in to the hug as she wrapped her arms around my torso and leaned her head against me. I had her head tucked underneath my chin, letting me burry my face into her hair.

"Masen?" she asked in a muffle through my shirt.

"Yeah?"

"Do you mind staying with me for a bit. I know it's weird, but..."

"Sure, I don't mind," I said to her. She smiled softly as we then pulled apart.

"Okay, meet me in my bedroom. I just need to change out of this uniform," she said, motioning to the school uniform she was still wearing.

I nod as she leads me into a small bedroom at the end of a hall. It was a small white room with a messed up bed that had gray and blue sheets. The room has two windows on the side of one wall and another smaller one above her bed. Photographs and a few paintings scattered the room. She also didn't have a closet so all of her clothes were on a rack against the wall.

I quickly texted my parents to tell them that I would be late before settling down in a nearby chair, waiting for her. I did notice a guitar in the corner of her room and I had the urge to check it out, but this was Grace's room. I didn't want to disrespect her or anything.

"It's a bit small, but it's mine," Grace said, chuckling as she came in with a gray t-shirt and a pair of poka-dot pajama pants.

"It's nice," I told her as we went to sit down on her bed.

I notice out of the corner of my eye a picture of an eight year old Grace with two adults that I assume to be her parents and a teenage boy I assume to be Robert. Grace looked the most like her mother with her blonde hair, blue eyes, and facial features, but I could see some of her father in her. Robert did have a resemblance to Marcus. The rest of his face seemed to be his mothers mixed in with another trait, perhaps a relative on his mom's side, but I could definitely see Marcus in the boy. He had Marcus's hair and his facial structures like his chin and nose. Then again I've only seen Marcus once in my life, and that was in the large painting my grandfather owns.

Younger Grace though, she was cute but something about her was all too familiar...

"As you can tell, that's my family," Grace whispered, motioning to the photo I was just looking at. "It was taken in Florida. We were on vacation at the time. I believe the year was 2004. It was probably one of our more memorable."

"It's nice, you were cute back then," I said, teasing with her a bit to lighten the mood. It seemed to work as she chuckled lightly.

"I guess...You know Ness has told me some pretty interesting stories about you guys as kids."

"She has." I laughed, thinking about my sister. "I'm not surprised actually."

We both laugh as we began to talk some more. Talking to Grace has been probably the easiest thing I've ever done in my life. Talking to this girl, this angel, it was like I was talking to someone that just knew the real me. It was weird, but I felt like things were slowly falling into place.

"Somedays I just wonder if I'll ever see Rob again, or maybe even my dad. Ya know," Grace muttered tiredly as she leant against my shoulder. Her actions surprised me...But I wasn't stopping them. Her hair felt nice and her warmth against my body felt even nicer.

"I'm sure you will...I promise that you'll see one of them one day," I whispered in her ear.

"Thank you, but maybe," She muttered tiredly as she closed her eyes. I sighed as I then felt her warm head rest against my chest. I could tell she was asleep by her even breaths and peaceful expression. She is so beautiful.

I sighed as I wrapped my arms around her and brushed her hair, enjoying the few moments I could with Grace before the sun would come up and her mom would wake as well. I grabbed a nearby throw blanket on her bed to place it over the both of us since she was so close to me. I didn't want her to get cold, with me being much more cooler than her.

"Masen," she muttered in her sleep as I tucked the blanket around her body. "I...I...mmm"

"Shhh," I whispered, giving her forehead a kiss and hugging her small body in my arms. I didn't plan for this to happen, but then thing I knew I was asleep with Grace's body curled into mine on her apartment floor. All that went through my head was that I just really wish we could just stay like this forever.

A/N: Soooooo how do you like them apples? What are your opinions about Grace? Who knew what she was? I think you all kind of figured she wasn't a normal human being, but she's not technically a witch. You'll see what I've planned mwhahaha! Also the other universes thing is a little joke for anyone who might read the stories of a few friends of mine on here or has read the FanFiction Doppelganger crossover I did a little while ago lol ;) If anyone noticed. Also I used google translate to write the italian, so sorry if I messed anything up :/ My italian is very very very very mucho rusty, or bad. I just know really how to curse in it lol. btw it translates to "Shit, my mom is going to be angry. No one has ever had to find out. This will endanger our family once again." something like that. Anyway, in the meantime thanks for reading, keep on the lookout for the next update, and please review :)
