I didn't get much sleep last night. I was thinking about what happened earlier. Finn and I were sitting at a table eating breakfast with Flame Queen while Marceline was asleep in our room. She didn't seem to even remember what happened last night. She acted normal like nothing happened. I still didn't trust her.

"...had them all beheaded." she and Finn were trading stories about their past adventures. "What about you Cameron?" she asked me.

I wanted to ask her what the heck she was doing last night, but I decided not to. I uncomfortably stood up, "Uh. . .I have to use the restroom," and exited the dining hall.

I turned on the faucet of the huge bathroom, and nearly got burned from the fire that blasted out. I guess they couldn't use water since, you know, they're made of fire. I leaned on the sink and looked at my reflection in the slightly burnt mirror. My hair's a mess. I searched my cluttered purse and took out a comb. When I looked up again, I jumped when I saw Flame Queen behind me.

"What's the matter Cameron?" she had a wide evil smile across her face.

"I didn't hear you come in and..."

"Tell me," her flames grew large, "What did you see last night?!"

"Nothing! I didn't see anything!" I yelled, using my hands as a shield from the intense heat. The spray on cool must've been wearing off.

"Liar!" She made a huge fire ball in her hand and threw it straight at me. It was coming at lightning speed, but I dodged it. "Tell me or these next ones won't miss!" She readied two more.

"I told you already, I didn't see anything you crazy bitc..." She threw two more. I jumped out of the way of the first, and barely missed the second. Some of it caught my leg. Suddenly, I felt hot, really hot, and the burn on my leg was excruciating. I let out a yell of pain. The spray was wearing off. I had to act fast. Then I got an idea. I took out my sword.

"That thing won't hurt me, but this will hurt you," she laughed, and her flames grew even bigger. They were touching the ceiling now, scorching the rock.

"Bring it on." She threw another fire ball at me. This one was bigger than the others. This had to be timed perfectly. I waited until the moment was right, then I used my sword as a metal baseball bat and hit the flames towards the door. It melted open with an explosion. Now's my chance. Wasting no time, I sprinted out and headed for the room we staying in. The heat was getting more and more intense. It was like being trapped inside of an oven that was one thousand degrees inside. The heat got more and more unbearable. Sweat was drenching my shirt and running down my face and the ground burnt my feet.

I was seconds away from our room, where Marceline was still sleeping and Finn had just walked in. The spray can was next to Marceline on the bookshelf. I dived on the bed, waking the vampire, and sprayed all over with a sigh of relief. I got goosebumps from the sudden change in body temperature.

"Cameron, what the heck?!" said Marceline angrily, rubbing her red, evil eyes.

"What happened? Why are you so sweaty?" asked Finn.

"I have something to tell you guys."

"...and just now, she tried to kill me!" I had just explained everything to them.

"What? Why would she do that?" asked Finn. The two of them were sitting on the bed in front of me as I paced in a straight line.

"I don't know, but I know what I saw. I even have proof." I showed them the burn through my pants. It didn't sting as much, because of the spray that I reapplied, but it still hurt. "See."

"Ouch." said Marceline, rubbing her eyes again.

"Sorry I woke you." I said.

She yawned, "Yeah, it's okay. I was going to wake up anyway. Like five hours later."

"I don't know. I'm not buying it. I've known Flame Queen for a long time. Since she was Flame Princess. We used to..." he paused, "...she wouldn't do that."

They used to what? I began to get annoyed; frustrated with him. I don't know why, but him mentioning them being together, even vaguely, aggravated me. "Yes she would! She just did! Maybe she isn't who you think she is!"

"What?!" I hadn't noticed that I was shouting until Finn shouted back at me. "Look, I don't know what you have against her, but Flame Queen would not do that!" He stormed out of the room, leaving me speechless. I felt a lump in my throat when he'd left. I've seen Finn yell before, but it was at either the Ice King or some evil monster. Never at me. It was, he was...frightening. And then, for some reason, I got angry. And how could he have gotten angry at me? I know what I saw.

I took a step toward the door, ready to give him a piece of my mind when I felt fingers grab me; cold fingers.

"Let me go!" I said to Marceline. I tried to shake my hand free, but her grip was too strong.

"Wait," she replied.

"On what? I know what I saw! I have to. . ."

"To what? Go and cat h her? You can't just waltz out there. Who's to stop the Flame Queen from frying you on the spot?"

"So, what are you saying?" I ask.

"I'm saying," she released me, "that you need a plan."

I searched her big red eyes for any sign of lies. All I saw was brilliance. "Why should I trust you?"

"Because, I have a plan."

Later that day, I searched the whole castle for Finn, but I couldn't find any sign of him. I didn't see Flame Queen either. I needed both I them for Marceline and my plan to work. I soon decided to try and use the SAHIT to find her. So I got it and turned it on. There was a beeping sound and an arrow pointing west.

I followed the arrow straight to the door. As I approached it, the door swung open. Standing in front of me, were Finn and Flame Queen. They were laughing until they saw me. She grimaced. Finn tried to avoid eye contact for some reason. I didn't want to look at him anyway.

"Oh, hello Cameron. What do you want?" she asked. It was dark out, so her flames burned brightly enough to light up a small city.

"Why do you have the SAHIT?" Finn asked me.

"Why do you need to know?" I snapped at him. He cringed. "Anyway, Flame Queen, I was looking for you." I said. I began to pull out our 'plan' out of my back pocket.

"Oh? What for?"

"For this!" I took out the knife I had and launched at her in one swift motion. I could tell I took her by surprise. I tackled her to the ground. Although the spray was on, my hands still burned a little from the surface of her skin. Being that close to her intense heat was making me sweat.

"Cameron! What are you doing?!" Finn asked me.

"Watch, I'm going to prove to you that she's evil!" I tried to thrust the knife at her neck, but she was surprisingly strong enough to keep my arm far enough away.

"Is that what this is about?! #!*% it Cameron, why are you like this?!"

Flame Queen somehow managed to me I me off of her and stood up. I hit my head on the castle wall, making everything look fuzzy and dizzying. My knife fell on the floor.

"You know Finn," she maked a fireball in her hand and her eyes glowed with fire, "this time, she's right." Se threw the fireball right at Finn. I heard him yelling in pain and getting blasted back to the ground.

A few seconds before that, I wanted to punch Finn in the face more than anything else. Then, seeing him lying in the floor, because of her, made me angry. I forced myself to the ground and sprinted towards her. I was so focused on hurting her, however, that I didn't notice a blast of ember coming straight to me. I was so close to the fire that I could smell the flames, when I jerked to the side and fell to the ground. It was Marceline.

"Thanks," I said. She helped me up. Before she could say anything though, she was swallowed by a ball of red flames. She screamed in agony before passing out on the ground. "Marceline!" I yelled. Now, it was just me, and her.

I sprinted towards her once more and picked up my knife. I pointed it at her head and thrusted. I was so sure I would get her this time, but she ducked, seconds before I could touch her. She was quick. As she bent down, I could see a smile, an evil, devious smile, across her face.

I could have heard her silent whisper to me I my ear, "Die."

Suddenly, there was a small pain in my stomach, like being pricked with a needle. Then the pain got greater in seconds. I didn't even have time to look down, for I was blasted back by a fire ball in my stomach. As I laid on the ground, my stomach burning intensely in pain from the fire, she walked to me. She stood over me and readied a fireball in her hands.

"Are you afraid to die?" she asked, her voice soft and evil.

The pain from the burn spread through out my body from the core of my stomach. I laid on the ground gasping for breath. My vision was blurry from tears, although it would not make a difference if I could see.

I could see my sword a few feet away from my burnt fingers. I crawled, then winced from the sharp pain in my side. She must have seen what I was going for, because she planted her burning foot on my arm. I yelled in pain and the sizzle of my flesh was loud in my ear. I tried to move her foot with my hand, but the heat from her boot scorched my hand.

She lifted her hand about to throw the fireball. The ends of her mouth curled into a deviously evil smile. This is it, I thought. She was about to release the burning ball of fire at my head when, all of a sudden, she fell down to the ground. It was Finn. He stood above me and extended his hand to help me up, not taking his eyes off of Flame Queen.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

I tried to answer, but the intense pain surging through my body made my tongue stiff. So I nodded instead.

"Good. Come on," he said and I followed him into the castle. I looked at Flame Queen on the ground. She was out cold. I desperately wanted to end her right there, after all she did to me, but I didn't.

He was pulling me slow, but I could barely keep up with him. I stumbled down to the ground, my hands quickly being warmed from the ground, and threw up. The chunks on the ground sizzled on the ground sending fumes up my nose. I vomited again and fell on my side. Everything began to get dark and fuzzy.

Finn took my hand and stood me up.

"Cameron, are you okay?" he asked and the color returned to my vision. I was close to his face, so I could see his face was burned in some parts and was bleeding in others. I regained my balance, but still leaned on him. He wrapped his arm around my waist, his finger spread across my abdomen. To keep me standing of coarse. I could hear his heart beat a bit faster. Was it because of our proximity to each other, or from the fight?

"Where are we going?" I asked him.

We entered our rooms and he sat me down on the bed. He reached underneath the bed and pulled out the SAHIT and turned it on. It pointed outside of the room.

"To get the other orb, then get out of here."

We followed the arrow into the throne room that I saw Flame Queen in. It was lit by candles, but other than that everything was dark. The orb sat on top of a golden crown. This one was bigger than the blur orb, so Finn picked this one up with both of his hands. As his fingers touched its surface. The whole thing glowed a beautiful red color, illuminating the room.

"What do you think you're doing?" said a voice from the entrance. It was Flame Queen. She stood there, causing the spots she was touching to burn. "Give me back my orb!"

She formed a large ball of fire in her hands, as big as two SUV's stacked on each other.

"Now die!" She threw it at us, its top and bottom scorching the ground and ceiling as it moved. Once again for tonight, I thought I was going to die.

Finn moved in front of me and put the orb in front of him; between us and the ball. I wondered what he was thinking. The ball got closer towards us, gaining five feet every second. Then, miraculously and incredibly, instead of the ball hitting us and exploding, it was absorbed into the orb. The force sent Finn back onto me.

We look into each others eyes unable to believe what just happened. Flame Queen, however, was enraged. She balled her fists and they became engulfed inside of flames. She let out a scream of hate and rage, and ran toward us. Finn pointed the orb at her again, and she stopped in her tracks. Her eyes became blank, white holes and her mouth was dropped open. She was like a zombie. She let out a long gasp, but she wasn't breathing in air. A dark, transparent entity was being pulled out of her. It screamed a loud, horrible sound as it was sucked into the orb.

After a few seconds, Flame Queen's iris came back. She looked confused, like a she just woke up in a different place than she slept.

"Finn?" she said, "what just happened?" She looked at us, then looked up and fainted.

"Flame Queen!" he said, and went closer to her.

I grabbed his arm and stopped him. "Don't go close. She could be faking it"

"You saw that. How can you fake something like that?"

Unable to come up with a response, I let him go. He carried the evil little witch back into her throne room and rested her on her chair. He looked at her for a while. With care. My stomach churned at the sight of it.

We exited the castle and stood where we fought Flame Queen.

"Wait a second," I said, "something's missing." Orbs, sword, Finn, Me, SAHIT. Everything was here, except one thing. "Where's Marceline?"

I looked at where she was laying unconscious, but her young, gray body was not there.

"She's gone."
