Annabel sat quietly on Godric's chair as the vampire spoke with Isabel, who had cleaned herself up and once again thanked her Sheriff for sparing Hugo's life. While the two spoke, Godric kept a close eye on Anna while she sat contently with her doll in her arms, watching the nest mingle in her home. He would not be letting her out of his sight for some time now. He would not allow her to be taken from him again.

While the humans and vampire mingled in the Sheriffs home, unbeknownst to everyone, another uninvited guest walked into the room and commanded their attention. Anna stood from the chair as a voice spoke up over the crowd, she made her way to Godric's side as the room became quiet. The little girl stood safety behind her vampire as she peeked out into now silent room.

"If I could have your attention please." The young man started. "My name is Luke McDonald. I'm a member of the Fellowship of the Sun, and I have a message for you all from Reverend Steve Newlin."

The stranger unzipped his jacket, revealing multiple silver chains and wooden stakes attached to a vest, along with a beeping detonator held in the man's hand. The action was quick, and before anyone could make a move, the young man pressed the red button and a deafening boom filled the home.

Annabel could only hear a ringing in her ears as the smell of smoke and burning flesh filled her nose. Her eyes burned as she squeezed them shut and her head pounded from the loud bang that left her feeling disorientated. Anna shifted and as she got her bearings, realizing she was being held in someone's arms. In the smokey smell she could clearly make out the familiar and calming smell of her vampire.

Godric held the little girl close to his chest as he looked out on the carnage left in his home. Moans of pain could be heard coming from both vampires and humans alike as they did their best to get up and find their bearings. The scene left a pit in the old vampires stomach as dredd filled the emptiness. So much destruction, and for what, petty revenge. This was something that should never have had happened, not here, not with her here.

"Keep your eyes closed little one." Godric kept his hand on the back of Anna's head so her face was pushed into his chest. She didn't need to see the destruction done the home she grew up in, a place she considered safe and comforting.

The little girl did as the vampire asked, and kept her eyes squeezed shut. With one fist clenched in Godric's shirt, and the other holding on tightly to Ic. Anna did her best to block out the pain she felt coming off the vampires in the room as Godric walked about the now damaged home.

"Annabel?" The little girl sighed in relief hearing her Aunt call out for her, but the little girl stayed quiet, her voice trapped in her throat.

"Who is dead?" Godric looked to Isabel, who was helping humans and vampires and looking over the dead.

"Stan, Paolo, Catherine, and two human companions." Isabel answered the Sheriff. Annabel whimpered hearing Stans name. Even through the vampire had been somewhat of a hard ass when around the little girl, he was still apart of the only family Anna had ever known, one before Bon Temps.

Godric held the child a little tighter. This attack was not something the vampire wanted the little one to witness. The pain she must have been feeling coming off the vampires and hearing of the dead, will forever imprint itself on the child. It was just how her kind worked, and Godric wished he could block such pain from her.

"Everyone please!" Isabel stood in the center of the carnage and tired to get everyone's attention.

"Hey, y'all listen up." Anna felt relief once again, hearing her Uncles voice gave the child some semblance of hope in the wake of such destruction.

"They may come back." Godrics voice vibrated up his chest as he spoke. The sound calmed the small child in his arms down. "Go to the Hotel Carlilla. They have been alerted, and security is in place."

It saddened Godric to see such destruction done to his home, made all in the name of revenge and God. This act fell on Godric's shoulders, he would take responsibility for it. It was his choices that led to this. The old vampire held the little girl close to his chest as he followed the last of the injured out the house. He would not allow something like this to happen again, not while she was in his life.

Anna fell asleep sometime between the journey from the nests home, to the hotel. Godric kept the child in his arms as the Eric lead him to the suite that had been prepared for the older vampire. Godric was sure to tuck the little girl into the large bed that took up only one of the two rooms in the large suite.

"What is she?" Godric knew the question was coming, and suspected that his childe had his own theories on what Annabel was and was only waiting for the right time to ask the older vampire. "She is not human."

"She is a being of old and legend." Godric answered. The vampires walked out of the room, and Godric softly closed the door behind him.

"Her gifts are different from what her Aunt is capable of, why is that?" Eric asked. The older vampire sat on one of the couches in the suites living room. Godric sighed as he let out an unnecessary breath unnecessary breath.

"The sun will be rising soon. I will answer your questions when we wake. For now, rest." Godric left the conversation at that and headed into the room beside the one the little girl was currently sleeping in, closing the door behind him.

Eric watched his maker and when the door was closed, he himself headed back to his own suite. His questions would have to go unanswered for now. He could feel the strain his maker was feeling, and knew it was best not to push the subject of the child in his protection.

Annabel tossed and turned as she slept. The ringing in her ears was back, the smell of burning flesh, the cries and moans were heard. But instead of being in Godric's arms, the child was wandering around a distorted version of the burnt and destructed room of her home, searching for her vampire. But she was unable to find him and worry nawed at her stomach. Tears stung at the child's eyes as she became more and more distressed.

The little girl could clearly feel all the pain and distress the vampires around her were feeling as they moaned in pain and called out for help. This made her own emotions weigh her down as she searched for Godric. Suddenly, the room was filled with a bright blue light. Annabel could make out Godric standing in blue flames as they ate at his skin. Pure panic and fear gripped the little girls heart as she lunged for the buring vampire.

"Godric!"

The vampire woke from his dead sleep when the feeling of fear came across his bond shared with Annabel. Worried the vampire rushed to the child's room and searched for the child, finding her buried in the covers of the bed, curled up and whimpering under the white sheets. The vampires undead heart broke at the sight of the little girl so upset by whatever her dreams held.

"Little one, it is only a dream." Godric lifted the little girl out from under the covers and pulled her into his arms. "I am here, Anna."

"Godric?" Annabel opened her eyes and found her vampire looking at down at her. The child threw herself into the vampires arms and cried out. "Please don't leave me! I don't want you to go."

More tears formed in the child's eyes as she buried her face in Godric's chest. The pain of being seperated surfaced for the both of them as Anna cried. The little girl feared being taken from him again, or even worse, him being taken away from her.

"Shhh, little one. I promise you, I will never leave you." This child gave Godric meaning in his long life. She changed him, allowed him to become something other than death and destruction. Even with his past, his title, his curse, this child wanted to be near him. Godric found being a vampire was both a curse and a blessing in this moment. While he had caused so much death in his long existence, for some reason fate had gifted him with Annabel.

Godric stayed with Anna, waiting for her to succumb to sleep before he himself gave into sleeps pull and died with the sun. No dreams came to the undead during their "sleep", so Godric fell into nothingness, the steady breathing of Annabel beside him was a comforting reminder that she was there.

Eric stood behind his maker as the older vampire sat calmly on the couch within his suite. Godric had called Isabel and himself to meet him so they could discuss the question everyone had. Just what was the little girl in Godric's care? The question had been riding on the vikings mind since his first meeting with the little girl. It only got worse once a connection had been made between his maker and the child.

The three vampires were currently waiting on Bill and Sookie, as well as Jason, before Godric began his explanation. With vampire speed, Eric was at the door before Bill could knock, allowing the vampire and the two humans into the room. The large suite held two separate rooms and had a living room where Godric sat on one of the three couches while Isabel stood loyally behind him.

Eric took his place on Isabel's other side while Sookie and Bill sat before Godric and Jason took a seat on the same couch beside his sister. Both Stackhouses looked on edge as they glanced around the room, seeing no sign of Annabel.

"Thank you for joining us. I know you must have a lot of questions, and I hope I can answer them." Godric was polite to his charges only family as they sat before him.

Just as Sookie was about to ask where the little girl in question was, the sound of soft footfalls entered the room as Annabel came running out of one of the rooms. She was dressed in unfamiliar blue sun dress with her hair let down and free. The child had a smile on her face as she came to halt before Godric and turned to look at her Aunt and Uncle.

"Hi Aunt Sookie. Hi Uncle Jason." The girls voice sounded like chimes on the wind as she greeted the man and woman. Both looked at the child with wide eyes. Annabel had always looked somewhat sickly while living with Sookie and Adele, as if she was constantly on the verge of being ill and didn't speak much to anyone. Yet here she stood, full of life, and something else.

Sookie couldn't put her finger on it, but the little girl before her seemed almost different, like it was hard to look at her and not see something else. The young woman couldn't quite find the words to explain it, but she noticed the change the moment the child was back in Godric arms the night in the church.

Annabel turned away from the three on the couch and climbed into Godric's lap. Settling herself in as if she had done this hundreds of times and if comfortabel ease.

"What is she?" Bill was the one to ask the first question. He had noticed the drastic change in the child as well. She had always seemed like any other normal human child, but now, now he was seeing something different.

"It may be best if I start from the beginning, far before Annabel's time on Earth." Godric started. "There are far more creatures in this world beside vampires. Some still choose to hide in the shadows, while others have been almost wiped out completely, making them beings of legend and fairy tail."

Eric looked to his make and small child in his lap. His mind was reeling as the older vampire spoke, trying to find the answer in his makers words before the man even spoke them.

"One such creature was a being born for the night and that danced among the stars." Godric spoke. His voice held such age for one who looked so young as he spoke. It was a strange sight for the humans in the room to see. "They were creatures who never aged and lived in the darkness of night among nests, never being seen during the day. Some would consider them vampires if it wasn't for the fact that they didn't need blood to survive and could actually walk in the sun. These beings, creatures, legends, were known as the Faye."

Eric felt his eyes widened as he looked down at the little girl. His nostrils flared as he took in the child's scent. She smelt of the damp earth in the night, of dying leaves in the fall, and of Godric himself. If he hadn't remembered the scent, he may not have believed it. But he remembers, he remembers the man who had traveled with him and his maker centuries ago, in the very beginning of his undead life.

"Casston?" Eric spoke. His voice held disbelief as his maker nodded his head at him.

"What, what is a Faye?" Sookie looked to niece in uncertainty. Was the little girl really not human? Would she be in constant danger now because of this?

"A Faye is not human, nor is it vampire. The Faye were creatures of nature born for the night. Long ago they shared nest with vampires, danced among the stars, and lived very long lives." Godric paused before looking to Annabel who sat calmly in his lap. "They were so attuned to the night, just as vampires were, that it was once common to find vampires mated with Faye or find them nesting together. But, like most things, vampires saw the rarity in something, and the more rare a thing is, the more valuable they become."

Sookie looked at the vampire in shock. Her gut told her where this was going already, but that didn't mean she still wanted believe what she was about to hear.

"What happened to them?" It was Jason who spoke up as he leaned forward and rested his arms on his thighs in interest.

"Vampire destroyed and killed any nest with a Faye, either killing the Faye or taking them for their own." Isabel spoke up. "This was far before any of our times, and the violence would have completely wiped out the existence of the Faye, but the creatures went into hiding. Placing themselves among men. Forcing them to let go of their true nature while hiding their gifts and disappearing."

Isabel finished, allowing everyone to absorb what was just said. Eric kept his face neutral, he knew of Faye history, and knew what the vampires had done to the creatures. His human memories were a little foggy, but he could remember his Mother once telling him the story of beings who danced among the trees and held great gifts given to them by the Gods.

"You said they don't age, how?" Bill asked, looking to Godric.

"When a Faye reaches their mature age, they cease to age, or in some cases of half breeds, age at a very slow rate." Godric answered.

"You said they had gifts, what kind of gifts?" Sookie then asked, looking to Isabel, who in turn looked down to Godric.

"At different ages, Faye inherit different gifts that allow them to connect with nest mates, either vampire or other Faye." Godric started. "At a young age, Faye can create bonds with their mothers and fathers or someone they deem just as worthy. This allows the bonded to feel for any distress in young Faye's or add a sense of comfort and protection."

Godric then looked to Annabel who had stayed quiet during the explanation. She in turn looked up to him, tilting her head and giving him a questioning look.

"Faye are social creatures to few, their nature is to be cautious and allow instinct to guide them when it comes to finding worthy nest mates." Godric continued. "Annabel was very young when she bonded with myself, it was quite the shock and even her father was stunned by his childs action."

"Her father?" Sookie spoke up. "What about my sister, Mary?"

Isabel crossed her arms at the mention of Mary Stackhouse. If it hadn't been for that woman, Annabel would have never been taken, and maybe her Sheriff wouldn't have gone so willingly to the Fellowship of the Sun.

"Casston, was a dear friend of mine, and was Annabel's father." Godric started, remembering the day Casston had come to his home and announced that he was to be a father.

"Godric, my friend. It is good to see you again." A young looking man with dark hair and deep grey eyes stood before the old vampire as he opened the door and allowed his old friend to enter. "I have exciting news to share with you."

"Casston. I'm happy to see you are well." Godric greeted the Faye, truly happy to see the man still alive and well after not seeing or hearing from him for some time. "Please, share with me your exciting news."

"My friend, I am to be a father." Casston announced to the vampire excitedly. The smile that spread across the mans face made him look even younger, but Godric knew exactly just how old the being before him really was.

Godric looked stunned for just a moment, knowing full well the implications of what his friend had just told him.

"Congratulations, Casston." The vampire started. "But, tell me, how did this come to be? Have you finally found your fated mate?"

"No, I'm afraid I was never destined to have a fated mate." Casston smiled sadly at his long time friend. "But, it appears I was fated to conceive a child. A woman I shared my bed with last month has fallen pregnant. I can feel my little one with in her. The first of my kind to be born in centuries, Godric."

"I am happy for you Casston. It is great news." Godric spoke honestly to the man.

"Thank you." Casston smiled brightly when speaking of his future child.

"It was clear to see that day just how excited and fulfilled Casston was. Faye are almost nonexistent today, and for a Faye to be born, even one from a human, is very rare." The older vampire explained. "But, as for your sister, she gave up Annabel as soon as she was born. Casston became her sole guardian."

Both Sookie and Jason looked at the vampire with wide eyes. Sookie held back a gasp as she looked to her niece, the little girl stayed quiet and picked at her dolls yellow yarn hair. The little girl already knew this, Godric hid very little from her, wanting her to know her history and why things happened the way they did.

"Why, why would she just giver her up?" Jason asked in disbelief. He had once been close to Marry, maybe even closer than him and Sookie were, but then she was gone. Just up and left Bon Temps, leaving her family behind as well.

"Marry was, a raging drug addict, and soon turned to V, even before vampire even became mainstream. She was not fit to be a mother, especially for Annabel." Isabel answered, her eyes hard as she spoke of the woman. The room fell quiet as Jason and Sookie took in the information about their sister.

"What happened to Casston, Godric?" Eric asked, breaking the silence as he looked to his maker. The older vampire let out a breath of air as he thought back on his old friend.

"A year after Annabel had been born, Casston came to me and asked that if anything ever happened to him, I would take Annabel into my care." Godric felt the little girl in his lap shift and turn so her right side was leaning against his cold body and her legs were pulled up to her chest. "I had refused at first, thinking a vampire nest was no place for a child, let alone one so young. But Casston had to remind me that she wasnt just a child, but a Faye, and humans wouldn't be able to properly care for her. It was that day that Annabel had created the bond between us. It sealed my fate to this child and I agreed that if anything happened to Casston, I would take her."

"What happened to him?" Sookie asked softly, almost afraid to know the answer. She watched as Annabel looked up to Godric, the vampire in turn kept his eyes on Sookie as he answered her.

"He was killed, by a vampire." The room was once again quiet as the humans and vampires took in the answer. Eric closed his eyes for a moment in thought. Casston was an old being who had been there when Godric had turned Eric. Knowing the Faye was dead was news he didn't want to hear.

"The vampire who killed him was never found, but when news made its way to my nest that he was dead, I was sure to find Annabel as quickly as I could, hoping she hadn't met the same fate." Godric continued. "She was surprisingly with her mother. The woman had no real claim to her since she gave her up but argued that she wanted to still see her. I felt pity for her, she seemed to want to get to know her daughter so I allowed her visitation with Annabel during the day."

"Unfortunately, the woman was still too far gone and had her relapses, one that turned out bad enough for Godric to restrict her time with Anna and hire a day time watcher." Isabel added.

"What happened that day, when Annabel was taken. If she had a watcher, how could Sookies sister take the child?" Bill spoke up, asking the question on most of their minds.

"We found Natasha, her watcher, dead outside Mary's home the night Annabel had been taken." Isabel said.

Sookie felt her throat tighten and her eyes water. Jason muttered no under his breath as his hands covered his face. Did their sister really kill that woman? Why? Both Stackhouse siblings felt dread rise up inside them. To think their sister was that far gone.

"Somehow, your sister found a way to break the bond Annabel had formed with me, cutting me off from ever finding her. With the bond gone though, I had beleived Annabel to be dead." Godric admitted. Hearing this, Anna folded in on herself and pushed further into her vampires cold body. Godric wrapped an arm around the small child and held her to him. Like he had said, Faye were social creatures with those they choose to form bonds with, and Annabel only had him.

As strong as the bond between them was, bonding was also very dangerous. Godric knew that if Annabel bonded with the wrong person, it could mean death for her. So he made sure only his most trustworthy were near her. While she had never bonded with Stan or even Isabel, the little girl was still very close to both vampires and felt great sadness when Stan had perished in the bombing.

"What happens now? What happens with Annabel?" Sookie was the one to ask. She loved her niece, but found herself being pushed out the little girl's life as soon as the truth began to make itself known. Anna wasn't even human, and Sookie and her Gran obviously we're not taking proper care of her and catering to her needs.

Eric stepped closer to Godric and looked to his maker for answers. It was a good question the young woman had asked. What happened now?

A/N: I am so sorry for the late update. I had a very long and hard accounting test to take today and almost wasn't going to post at all and just post this on Wednesday, but, I got it done! This is my longest chapter yet, 4,087 words and I am super excited about it. So many questions get answered, but I made sure to leave out some important things that some of you may catch. Don't worry, all will be answered soon very soon as things start to come together.

Thank you again for all the lovely reviews, I will do my best to get chapter 13 out at a reasonable time next Monday.
