NOTE TO READERS: I realize that my characters are not exactly as they were in Twilight. I have changed some of them. Please continue to review. Alice's vision will come into light soon.
No one told Carlisle where they had gone the night before and how drunk Bella had gotten but he already knew. Just by looking at her the next morning he had figured it out. They had let Bella sleep in a little bit. The past few days had included a lot of walking and she was tired. Plus the added stress of Criss Angel and the female stalker only added to the fatigue. The Cullen's gathered in Jasper and Alice's room. Together they went over brochures and decided that today would be a relatively easier day. They were go to head to Typhoon Lagoon Water Park today. It meant less walking and more lounging around. Bella woke up alone. She was unsettled at first but moved to shower and dress. As she was just leaving the hotel room Emmett appeared. He had an almost sad look on his face. When Bella asked about it however, Emmett was quick to paste on a smile and shake his head. Esme appeared with a kind smile before Bella could say much.
"We're going to the water park, Bella." She said softly and Belle nodded. Bella had changed quickly and then they had gone as a group to the cafeteria. Belle ate quickly not wanting to make the others sit still for so long though no one seemed to mind. Belle herself knew that there were much better hotels with better restaurants but Belle loved this place. The colors and the atmosphere was so fun. On the way out there was a man drawing Caricatures. Charlie would like that. Belle bet he would even frame it. The thought brought a chuckle from Bella. When the last customer was finished, Belle looked to the Cullen's and then sat. She handed over her money and the artist set up. She didn't realize that she looked sad until the artist spoke. "Such a pretty girl shouldn't be so sad." Bella who had been focusing on posing blinked. She looked at the man and tried to place a smile on her lips. Emmett who had been not paying attention looked to jasper who watched Bella. Jasper could alter emotions but humans needed to feel some of them. "I'm fine." Bella lied. "I'm on vacation." The artist was silent for a moment and then he nodded and began drawing. It took about 20 minutes and then the drawing was done. Bella ran it up to her room and then the were off.
Carlisle had decided that he wanted to get some pictures of the hotel while they had time. Armed with cameras, they began to explore the hotel grounds. They had already seen the Dalmatian section of course so they went the other way. Emmett had the most fun in the Toy Story area with the solders. When they came to the Daisy and Donald Duck, Alice gave a childish giggle and then pulled Jasper to stand with her in between the two statues. They each, to the laughter of the others, posed mimicking a duck. They were having fun. Esme looked on with amusement. It was nice seeing them all having fun. As a foster mother, she loved her family deeply. She hurt when they hurt, was happy when they were happy. They worked too hard and they needed this, all of them. They headed to the bus soon after. There was a bit of a line for the bus to the water park but not too many people. When the bus arrived, they piled on to fine there were no seats. They moved towards the rear of the bus. Emmett took hold of the metal pole closest to him. His other hand spun bells around in front of him so that her back was to him. He lulled her back against his body and his free arm went around her waist. Bella giggled.
In comparison to the number of people on the bus, the water park was not busy. The overcast skies kept people away. Carlisle had bought a disney package so they simply had to swipe their cards to get through the turnstile. Esme gathered all the cards afterwards and put them away. All together, they walked the water park taking everything in and deciding what they wanted to try. The theme was cute. Esme read from the brochure. "Slides," Which they could all see from anywhere in the water park. "There's a Castaway Creek, a Surf Pool and a Shark Reef... that sounds nice..." She liked sharks. It sounded interesting to be able to see them up close. The others agreed.
The water park was nicely laid out. Bella slathered on sunscreen and took in the scenery as they walked. There was foliage everywhere. Palm trees, large flat leaved bushes and flowers. The path ways were lined with white rocks and the ground was red cement. They had stopped off at the locker section and everyone had stripped off their clothes as they wore bathing suits underneath. Everything was packed into four lockers. Each woman took a key, attaching the keys to themselves spiral, retractable plastic wristbands. There were humorous painted signs erected here and there and they took turns reading them out loud. In the center of the water park stood a man made mountain with a fishing boat on top. They came to a look out point and were looking down onto the wave pool. It was huge. The water falls on the far end were beautiful.
They headed for the Shark Reef first. They went through the line in groups of two. When they reached the attraction, they were handed snorkels and goggles. When it was their turn, the eight stepped into the water. There were two platforms. One larger than the other. The Cullen's and Bella stepped down onto the first platform and put on the equipment. The employee was going over the rules. "Everyone should be a strong swimmer and be able to swim the reef on their own. Please do not stand on the second ledge, but kneel or sit. The rock can be slippery and we don't want any accidents." Most people were whitening with half an ear. When it was Bella's turn, she keeled on the second ledge and then leaned forward and slipped into the water. It was slightly chilled but soothing on her skin. She did not know what she was expecting as she had waited to get in but this was beautiful.
Swimming near the gravel bottom were small sharks and colorful fish. It was an amazing experience. Among the sea creatures were brightly colored coral and large rocks. The odd sting ray passed under her. Bella swam slowly. She would occasionally look to either side and could see the Cullen's near by. Then they reached the other end, there was stone ledge and then steps out of the water. They climbed up on then onto dry ground again. It had not been long but the Shark Reef would be an experience she remembered for some time. Everyone decided they wanted to try different things. Carlisle knew he was fighting a loosing battle. He was not going to be able to keep everyone together everyday. He sighed as they all scampered off.
Bella and Jasper headed for Castaway Creek. She was not a big one for water slides much like roller coasters. Once they took up their tubes and entered the water, Bella and Jasper lost sight of each other quickly. Bella climbed into the ring siting in it like a chair. She closed her eyes, her hand and feet in the water as she floated along. She dozed on and off the scent of chlorine in her nose.. The creek was a ride that you could do repeatedly. There was no rush to get out. Bella found it so relaxing. That was until the chilled voice reached her ears. Belle did not answer right away but gave a deep sigh. Slowly her eyes opened ad she then turned her head to look at him. Bella no longer knew what she had seen in this man. Perhaps it had simply been his physical attributions. Maybe that with his magic tricks. As she looked at Criss now though, she felt nothing but dislike.
He had the ring around his naked chest and leaned forward with his feet out behind him so that he was floating. Criss ignored everyone around him. Though he could feel their eyes on him. He managed to get himself beside Bella and when he spoke, his voice was cold and demeaning. "You should have come along, Bella. Had some fun." Bella sneered. "Having sex with you is not my idea of fun." Bella retorted. She was feeling a bit of pride with the comeback but that was gone when he spoke again. She had closed her eyes again in hopes that he would get the message and go adore his fans. Criss was not so easily deterred however. "With that big ape of a boyfriend you have, I doubt you even know how fun sex can be." He told her. "All testosterone and steroids. He looks too stupid to even be able to get it up. Big guys, small dicks." Bella grimaced. Her eyes opened once more and she glared at him. "Get a clue and Fuck off." She growled now. She was tired of this conversation and his arrogant and conceded attitude. Bella reached over now and grabbed the front of his tube. Pushing down sharply, Bella pushed the front of his tube under the water throwing his balance off and Criss, unprepared, was pitched head first into the water. He came up spluttering and cursing.
Bella slipped off her ring and into the water it was only up just above her waist. She wading through the water towards the steps of the exit for the creek. Bella had never done anything like this before and was surprised at herself for doing it now. She could feel tears threatening to break free from behind her eyes. She blinked repeatedly trying to keep them back. Bella just needed some time alone. She needed to be able to relax...think. She headed back to the lockers. Bella took her Disney card from hers and Emmet's locker, shoving everything back in as neatly as possible. Emmett was like a big child, shoving everything in where ever it fit. Her first stop was Hammerhead Fred's Dive Shop. It was less of a store more of a counter. It was the first place she came to however. Bella just rented a towel. Half an hour later found her sitting in the outdoor seating area of Leaning Palms. The building had caught her attention with the tall yellow leaning tower. There were a few people here and Bella made her way inside, towel wrapped around her waist. She ordered a Angus Bacon Cheeseburger and fries with a water before moving to a free table back outside. She had not been very hungry when she had first gotten here. Really just getting the food because she knew she needed to have lunch at some time. It was nice here. The shade under the umbrella was cool and Bella began to eat slowly as she watched people passing by her table.
Bella was angry with herself. She could not believe that she had fallen for a celebrity like some many other people. She didn't know anything about him. All she had known about Criss had been what she had seen on television. She had been so stupid. And then there was Emmett. There was something off about him. He was acting differently. Maybe she had slept with him too soon. Bella had felt that it was too soon even at the time when they had been together the night of the carnival. She had let the human need for sexual interaction override her common sense. Bella wondered if he felt badly of her because of it. This was not the first time she wondered about that. Bella picked at her food. A few bites here and there. The pretty girl was blind to the glances she was getting from the men passing by. She did not even notice when Emmett found here. Not until he pulled out a chair scraping it on the cement. There was no point in trying to pretend nothing was wrong any further. She nervously tucked her dark hair behind her ears.
She blinked trying to gather her thoughts. "I mean..." Emmett shook his head. "I'm sorry I gave in so easily..." Belle tried to apologize but Emmett cut her off. "You think this is about you having sex with me?" Emmett asked. His voice was soft in his shock. "What else could it be?" Bella answered his question with a question. "What else... Bella. The sex was good. I told you then I didn't think badly of you. The problem is, I love you." Bella frowned. Why would that be a problem. Hearing that he loved her should have sent an electrical jump through her heart but the fact that it was a problem hurt her and Bella looked down at her food. "I don't mean it that way." Emmett corrected himself. "I mean, I love you, Bella. That means I am going to end up hurt." Bella shook her head but Emmett nodded. "You're going to die, Bella. Not now, not for another sixty or seventy years. But its not long enough." She understood. She would grow old and die. Emmett would stay young forever. This was hard for Emmett. He had never fallen in love with a human before. Not since his change. It frightened him just how fragile she was. How short and brief the human life was. Every time he touched her, Emmett worried about hurting her unintentionally. He wanted to make her stronger and Emmett knew the only way that was going to happen was if Bella was bitten.
Emmett knew he could not do it himself. He had and his share of Singers and Emmett had failed each time.
Emmett's thoughts and Memories:
He had murdered two Singers in the past fifty years. One had been when he had decided to try living solo for a while. He had moved to New York City for a few months. Just wanting to get away from it all. The woman had been his downstairs neighbor. From the moment she had seen Emmett, she had developed a crush. At first it had been fine. She had had Emmett in a few times under the disguise of moving furniture and the likes. Emmett had known almost immediately what she was to him. He was beginning to think he could handle it. He had been wrong. Just a week later, it had happened. She had come to his door dressed in nothing but a form fitting sleeveless little black dress. She had claimed to have locked herself out and wanted to use his phone to call the land lord. Emmett, against his better judgement, had let her in. She had practically thrown herself at him. The sent of her blood screamed in his head as he tried to make her leave. Emmett could not control himself. Minutes later she was dead. He had stuffed her behind the large furnace in the basement of the apartment building. Emmett was long gone before anyone found her.
The other Singer was a homeless woman. He could not tell how he had even picked up on her scent. It was in Salem Oregon. The Cullen's were here for six years. Salem had seemed like an interesting place. Emmett had loved how they kept with the history of the city. With witch museums and the month long Halloween celebrations. There was a low average of sunshine like Forks. They were happy there. The homeless woman was down on her luck. There was no time for there to be any sort of relationship. Emmett had been heading off to hunt when they crossed paths. He had gone too long between feeding. He scent hit him like brick right between the eyes. She didn't have a chance. He killed her in the shadows of alleyway. Emmett disposed of her in a dumpster.
Both times Emmet had told know one though he thought Edward may have known. IT killed him that he had been so weak. That he had not been able to stop himself. That he was a monster.
***End Memories***
Bella waited. She watched Emmett when he had fallen silent. After a long moment, Bella spoke. "I don't want to grow old Emmett." She said. "I don't want to loose you to someone younger when I age. Bite me Emmett. Make me like you and then we can be together forever." It scared her when Emmett looked at her now. She could see the pain in his eyes. Bella wanted to ask what he had been thinking about but was not sure that she actually wanted to know. Emmett changed the subject. "Lets go to the wave pool." He suggested. Bella nodded slowly. She finished all she was going to eat and then threw out the rest.
It seemed the rest of the Cullen's had the same idea. The Cullen kids were in the water and Carlisle and Esme sat in lounge chairs relaxing. Bella tossed her towel onto a empty chair and then let Emmett pull her into the water.
