The night of the dance Zoe was getting ready when she heard a knock on her door "Come in"

"Hi Honey." Harley smiled walking into the room "You ready to go?"

"Yep, my stupid hair isn't doing what I want it to anyway." she huffed and walked out of her room

All the kids were meeting in Town Square to take pictures and then they were going to walk to the dance which was held at the old fire house.

"So I hear that George Tucker asked you to go with him tonight."

"How did you find out?" Zoe asked shocked and embarrassed

"It's a small town sweetie. You should know there are no secrets here."

Zoe sighed "Is it ok?" she asked

"Of course it is. George is a nice boy and you're 13 now, I guess I have to get used to the idea of you dating."

"Yes, you do." she laughed. She loves how easy it was to talk to her dad. He was very easy going on curfews and rules. She guesses because like he said, there are no secrets in this town and someone always knows where you are.

When they got out of the car she ran to find George. He was standing with Hank, Jeremiah, and Wade by the gazebos.

"Hi George" she smiled

"Hi Zoe, you look very nice tonight"

"Thank you" she blushed and turned to Wade "Thought you don't do dances?" she mocked

"Yeah well, Mom made me. She didn't buy my fake fever." he sighed "Stupid dance" he grumbled and pulled on his tie

"Stop pulling on it. You'll ruin it." She scolded and tightened it back up

"Hi Zoe" Jackie smiled coming over to the kids

"Hi" Zoe waved "Can I ask you something?" she asked pulling Jackie away from the boys.

"Of course. What's up?"

"Can you fix my hair like you did it for New Years?" she asked handing her a hair tie "I tried doing it and it didn't look right and it would be useless askin Dad."

"Yeah turn around." Jackie smiled and started working in her hair. It only took about a minute as she didn't have to do much. "All set." she turned Zoe around "Beautiful"

"Thanks Mama" she smiled

"Anytime, have fun tonight."

When they got into the dance they're were tables set up with snacks and drinks on each table. All tables were surrounding a dance floor with a DJ in the back. Most of the kids started dancing right away. The more shy ones sat at the tables and talked. Zoe and George were sitting at a table when Lemon and Annabeth came walking past. Lemon hasn't talked to Zoe since Monday and Annabeth was caught in the middle. She waved to Zoe and followed Lemon to a table on the other side of the room. After a while George and Zoe went to dance. All their friends were up there and everyone was having a great time.

"Look at Wade." Zoe laughed and pointed his way.

Wade was in the middle of 4 or 5 girls all dancing around him.

George laughed "Typical Wade."

"He is all the girls talk about." She smirked and watched Wade and the girls a little longer

"Hi Zoe, George." Annabeth smiled as she walked past them

"Hi AB." Zoe smiled "Can we talk?"

"Yeah, sure." Zoe took Annabeth's hand and led her to a table. "What's up?"

"Do you think George really likes me?" Zoe asked

"Um yes, he totally does. Why?"

"Because I hate fighting with Lemon, I feel so bad. If I knew she liked him so much I wouldn't have agreed to this."

"Oh Zoe stop. She'll get over it. It's not like you two are getting married or anything."

Zoe laughed "True"

"Now go back out there and have some fun. I'm going to try and get a dance in with Wade. I didn't know he had moves like that."

Zoe laughed again "You ain't seen nothing yet."

After another hour the dance was over and they were all heading home.

The next day after church George and Zoe were talking outside by the benches.

"Hey, do you think your Dad would mind if we went down to the pond and hung out? We could feed the ducks." he suggested

"Feed the ducks?" Zoe asked. She thought that was the stupidest thing she's ever heard but she wanted to spend time with George. "I can ask him." she smiled

"Alright, yeah. I'll wait here." he smiled "Feed the ducks?" he asked himself "That is the dumbest thing I've ever said."

"Hey Dad, can George and I go down to the pond and feed the ducks?"

"Feed the ducks? What does that mean?" he asked

Zoe looked at him confused "It means feed the ducks. Like bring some bread and throw it at them." she explained

Harley thought about it. "I want you home be 3." he told her

"Really?! Thank you." she hugged and kissed him and ran back to George "I can go." she smiled

"Yeah? Cool. We can stop at my house and get some bread." he told her "Since it's on the way."

"Where you two goin?" Jesse asked

"Down to the pond to feed the ducks." Zoe informed him

"Old Babcock Pond? To feed the ducks? Seriously Tucker?" he laughed

"Shut up" George shoved him as they walked past

Jesse ran up to Wade, Lemon and Annabeth laughing.

"What are you laughing at?" Lemon asked

"Tucker is taking Zoe to Old Babcock Pond to feed ducks. He's so lame." he laughed

Wade and Annabeth also started laughing.

"George and Zoe are going out again? What are they dating now?" Lemon asked

"Pssh I don't know, but Zoe could do better than Tucker and ducks." Jesse laughed "I mean if I was taking a girl to Old Babcock pond I would not be just feeding ducks."

"Dude! She's like our sister." Wade said in disgust

"Not Zoe! I wonder if Dr. Wilkes knows where Zoe is going."

"Where is Zoe going?" Earl asked walking up to the group

"Uh, the pond with Tucker."

"What pond?" Earl asked

"The only one in the direction they were headed is Old Babcock Pond." Jesse told him with a smirk

"Make-out point?" Earl's eyes bugged "and Harley knows?"

"Don't know" Jesse shrugged

Earl turned around and made a bee line for Harley.

"Good job Jess." Wade laughed and watched as Earl and Harley made their way in the direction of the pond

"Where is your dad going?" Jackie asked Wade and Jesse

"Old Babcock pond."

"Uh why?"

"Zoe and George went there but only to feed the ducks." Jesse filled her in

"and you left that last part out I assume?"

"Yeah" he smirked

"Go, catch up with them. You better stop them before they embarrass her." she told Jesse

"Fine" he laughed as he ran to catch up with the men

"You go too" she eyed Wade

"I didn't do nothin."

"That's right, you didn't do nothin. You could have told your father what they were doing."

"Yeah, but ya know, Jess could be right. They could get there and Tucker could have her up against a tree."

"Wade Kinsella you better start running." she warned him

"I'm goin, I'm goin." he jogged ahead to meet up with his brother and Jackie trailed behind

"You really think her and George are making out?" Harley asked Earl as they trailed through the woods

"Don't know but I caught Jesse up here 2 years ago with Kelly Johnson."

Harley just grumbled and walked on

"Dad" Jesse called finally catching up with then

"What?" Earl asked turning around

"They said they were only feeding the ducks and if I know Tucker, they are just feeding the ducks."

"Are you sure? Why didn't you tell me that before?" Earl asked

"Don't know, thought it would be funny. But yeah, I'm sure. Tucker is a goody goody. He won't be making out with Zoe."

Wade finally caught up to them with Jackie right behind him. "I cannot believe you men have be traipsing through the woods in my good church clothes." she complained

"You didn't have to come." Jesse laughed but got smacked by his dad

"Don't talk to your mother like that."

"Sorry."

Wade had walked a few feet in front of them and was peeking through the branches. He turned back to the group "Yep, just as I thought. Feeding the ducks." he laughed "Tucker is so boring."

"Hey" Harley said "I'm glad he's boring. She can date him all she wants."

"She'll get bored." Wade told him

"Wade!" Jackie yelled

"What, she will." he shrugged and moved away from the branches

They were all turning to leave when Jesse stepped on a branch and cracked it.

"Did you hear something?" Zoe asked placing the bread down and walking towards the sound. She peeked through the branches and her jaw dropped "Dad?" Everyone's head turned towards her. "What are all of you doing here? Were you spying on us?"

"We thought you might have been doing something you shouldn't have." Harley told her

"Like what? Making out? I bet that was Jesse right?"

"Hey, why me?"

"Cause you knew I was coming here."

"We were just leaving." Earl spoke up

Zoe was so mad "It's not like I've never made out with anyone before." she snapped

"Who have you made out with at 13? You?" Harley pointed to George

"No Sir, not me." he answered

"No it wasn't George." she looked over at Wade and he was silently pleading with her not to say him. It's not like they could even call that making out. It was 20 seconds in front of all their friends. "That's not important." she shook it off "I can't believe you didn't trust me."

"I do trust you. I let you come here didn't I? But then Earl started talking about you making out at I didn't like that at all."

"Ugh" she groaned "Let's go George. Why don't we go get some ice cream? I've had enough ducks to last me a lifetime." she took his hand and led him out of the woods

As Jesse, Wade and the adults walked out Jesse ran to catch up with Wade. "You made out with Zoe?" he teased

"What? No" he tried his best to convince his brother

"Yeah right, I saw her looking at you when Dr. Wilkes asked her who she made out with."

"Alright fine, but it was only because we had to."

"7 minutes in heaven?" he laughed

"Spin the bottle." he corrected

"You don't make out in spin the bottle."

"You do when you land a person 4 times."

"What were you playing with each other?"

"No, it just happened."

"You had your first kiss and make out session and you didn't tell your big brother?"

"It was Zoe, not much to tell."

"Zoe was your first kiss too?"

"Ugh yes, can we drop this?"

"Did you use tongue?"

"Oh my gosh, shut up Jesse."

"So you did. You remember what I told you?"

"I am done talking to you." he huffed and backtracked to walk with his mom. He knew Jesse wouldn't continue this in front of her
